About the author

Catte Coelho has always lived surrounded by stories, first in the books she devoured as a child and later in the worlds she began creating to fill the quiet spaces between reads.

Because books were expensive and arrived slowly, she started writing so her imagination wouldn’t lose its rhythm. Somewhere in that gap between waiting and wanting to keep feeling, the author was born.

Her first story appeared in seventh grade: a handwritten play about Hades and Aphrodite that never made it to the stage but earned enough applause to convince her she could build worlds of her own. She never stopped after that. She moved through blogs, diaries and small everyday chronicles until, in 2017, she finally decided to devote herself to fiction.

What drives Catte are emotions, especially the ones that live just under the skin. The small things. The silences that speak louder than words, the forehead kiss when a heart is tired, the kind of love that hides inside the softest gestures.

In her books, healing is always a central thread, along with the search for belonging and the most human form of love. Her style shifts between emotional, humorous and sensual, guided by whatever each scene demands.
Though she may seem extroverted, Catte is deeply introverted, always facing her nerves with a “why not?” and a stubborn desire to experience everything that scares her. She writes in the late hours of the night, hugs her cats and dog far too often to count, lives on coffee with milk and starts every chapter to the sound of “This Is What Dreams Are Made Of” from Lizzie McGuire—a ritual that anchors her to creation.

She lives in Lisbon with her parents, works at an international company in the quality field and spends her free time between books, early-2000s playlists, long conversations with friends and strolls with her boyfriend—preferably on the way to sushi. Her dreams remain quietly tucked away, not for lack of ambition, but because she believes some desires need silence to take shape.

Catte is in love with the book community, especially with genres like reverse harem, dark romance, monster romance and omegaverse, genres she actively champions on her bookstagram.

She describes herself as spontaneous, empathetic and curious. Inside, she calls herself an adorable chaos—the place where everything is born and where, luckily, only her stories wander.

Above all, Catte writes to give readers what she sometimes lacked in her own difficult moments: an embrace, a refuge, an escape, the promise that healing exists and that happy endings can happen—even for those who stopped believing in them.

🇵🇹: Eu amo quando uma saga tem como foco os pecados mortais, não sei porquê mas é algo que sempre me cativou e intrigou...ora, eu adoro a escrita da Catte portanto quando me disse que ia fazer uma saga festiva onde cada novella tem um pecado como foco eu fiquei de imediato louca de paixão!!!

O que mais amei foi o facto do pecado em questão (neste caso é a ira) não ser uma personagem como tipicamente é...o pecado dita a emoção central da história e o que rege as personagens. Isto é muito interessante se pensarmos bem e um golpe de génio por parte da Catte.

A Valerie foi incrível e o crescimento dela ao longo de toda a história fez sentido, não foi apressado mas sim sentido com uma emoção muito própria e especial.

Amei a ligação entre a Valerie, o Slash, o Fabien e o Isaac ❤️ o que os une não é a luxúria, mas antes um sentimento muito forte de pertença, de respeito, de admiração, de carinho e de amor...há 3 anos uma noite de conversa juntou-os de um modo inexplicável e que ficou para sempre gravado nas suas almas. Estes 4 nutrem tanto respeito e amor uns pelos outros que é impossível não pensar neles juntos...é um amor que faz sentido e que deve ser vivido e respeitado.

Adorei cada momento disto juro!!! Para mim foi perfeito e já só quero o próximo feriado festivo 🤭

🇬🇧: I love it when a series focuses on the deadly sins; I don't know why, but it's something that has always captivated and intrigued me... well, I adore Catte's writing, so when she told me she was going to do a festival series where each novella focuses on a sin, I immediately fell in love!!!

What I loved most was the fact that the sin in question (in this case, wrath) isn't a character as is typically the case...the sin dictates the central emotion of the story and what drives the characters. That's very interesting if you think about it, and a stroke of genius on Catte's part.

Valerie was incredible, and her growth throughout the story made sense; it wasn't rushed, but rather felt with its own special emotion.

I loved the connection between Valerie, Slash, Fabien, and Isaac ❤️ What unites them isn't lust, but rather a very strong feeling of belonging, respect, admiration, affection, and love... Three years ago, a night of conversation brought them together in an inexplicable way that is forever etched in their souls. These four nurture so much respect and love for each other that it's impossible not to think of them together...it's a love that makes sense and should be lived and respected.

I loved every moment of it, I swear!!! For me, it was perfect, and I'm already looking forward to the next holiday 🤭

Catte has such a beautiful way of writing that even in a novella, she somehow leaves us wanting MORE. And even though we’re used to something cute, romantic, heartbreaking… she really went all out with this one 😏 She had all these hidden talents and waited until now to show them off, eheh.

Fabien? I fell in love with him from his very first POV 😂

And that’s how you do a spicy and fun novella. I love how Catte can write and heartbreaking story and then deliver an exciting and very pleasant story without losing her touch and quality. And although this is supposed to be light, there was a clear underlined message about how we should never dimmed ourselves to let other people shine. We should never settle for less than what we deserve because if we don’t love ourselves, no one will do it for us.
I loved Valerie so much and I think it’s safe to say that she was where we all wish to be, iykyk 🙂‍↕️
My favorite mmc was my man Isaac, the grumpy and serious one always do it for me and this one wasn’t different. And when he says babygirl? Yeppp im done, 100% obsessed. Slash was also amazing, he always turn things more fun and if it weren’t for him we wouldn’t have this story so 10/10 for him too. Fabien was the more quiet one, I didn’t connect so much with him like the others but I still liked him very much and absolute loved the dynamic between the four of them. I wish we could’ve had more and I can’t wait to read the next one.

The smut was impeccable, in true RH fashion we get a couple of scenes that got me very flustered, some of the best RH smut that I read so far, this only shows that Catte is a true RH reader, this is my higher kind of compliment 🥵

Of course I got a favourite guy, my trouble Slash 😩😮‍💨 what a man … of course all of them are amazing, but I do love me a shameless flirt 😏

If you want a Halloween read that doesn't waste a single page, Freed by Wrath is it. Catte Coelho packs a full, satisfying story into novella length without ever feeling rushed or like something important got left on the cutting room floor — which, let's be honest, is the hardest trick a short story has to pull off.

And the smut? Absolutely incredible. No fade-to-black cowardice here, no vague "and then morning came" nonsense. Everything you want on the page is on the page, and it's written with just as much care as the plot.

What really sold me though is the concept: building the whole story around a sin — Wrath, specifically — gives it this sharp, delicious edge that a lot of spicy novellas just don't bother reaching for. It's not just smut with a Halloween sticker slapped on it, it's smut with a theme, and it works.

Short, sinful, and zero filler. Exactly what a novella should be. 🔥

Set in Halloween, this Why Choose novella hits all the right spots, pun intended. Three very hot men (cops to boot) and Valerie reunite after 3 years and it's beyond steamy in that apartment. As per the "Wrath" it's there, you just have to read it to find out where :)

I have fallen in love with Catte’s writing since Bonded beyond the veil, but while bonded made me cry my eyes out, Wrath made me clench my pearls and cross my legs! I have now entered a rabbit hole, googling if it’s indeed physically possible to do some of the things those 4 do… turns out it is!! I’m officially jealous!

I can’t wait to keep reading this new novella series, and congratulations to Catte!! I will keep cheering you on!

I had such a good time with Freed by Wrath.
This was dark, spicy, chaotic and completely addictive. It gave me exactly what I wanted from a why choose romance: tension, possessiveness, emotional intensity, danger and three men with very different personalities.
I really liked Valerie and loved the dynamic she had with Slash, Fabien and Isaac. Each one brought something different to the story, and I honestly couldn’t choose a favourite. Their connection was intense, messy, hot and emotional in the best way.
I also really appreciated the care the author put into the hotter scenes. They were intense and spicy, but still felt intentional, well written and connected to the characters, instead of being there just for shock value.
The Halloween atmosphere and the slightly unhinged energy of the book made it even more addictive. It was dark and definitely not for everyone, but it kept me hooked from beginning to end.
A perfect chaos read for anyone who enjoys why choose romances with possessive men, high heat and a heroine who gets to be wanted and chosen.

This story, although short, has so much emotional depth and growth it’s truly amazing.
I haven’t yet read Bonded Beyond the Veil, so it’s been a privilege to see first hand what I already believed, that someone I consider a friend, is truly a very talented writer.
It’s easy to tell through the story how much soul was poured into this and how this was written by someone who loves both writing and reading🙂‍↕️
Although it’s on the shorter side, since it is a novella, it didn’t at all feel rushed at any point, it’s for sure one of the best paced ones I’ve read. The plot was on point, the character’s banter was everything and seeing Valerie come out of her shell and grow into herself is truly inspiring and I hope this story resonates with other readers as much as it did with me🥰

Reverse harem isn’t a trope I read very often. In fact, I think I had only read one book with this trope before this one… but this one was 🔥🔥 and by the end, I just wanted more!!

Catte’s writing is really easy to get into and addictive.

I loved seeing Valerie regain her confidence and learn to be happy again without hiding who she really is.
I also loved that each MMC has his own personality, but they’re all completely chaotic when they’re together.

The smut was out of this world… Valerie, you’re a lucky woman!!

This was a quick, spicy and fun novella, perfect for Halloween night. 🎃

Hello everyone
I would like to start this review by saying Catte will lie to you the moment you open this book. In her author's note she said, and I quote, "It tackles some darker themes and has its emotional moments, but it’s not meant to leave you staring at the ceiling questioning your entire existence.". Honeyboo, just because I did not reach for my tissue box does not mean it did not get me spiralling in thoughts.
Here we have a story of a woman who spent the last 8 years of her life being stepped over. Bend down. Contained. Criticised. Made to believe that her spontaneous being was something to be ashamed of. And for what? To be treated like trash.
You can leave it to men to find a diamond, fall in love with her shine, dim her light so much and then complain that she no longer sparkles. Well. THIS WOMAN HAD ENOUGH OF IT. We can see Valerie struggle to safeguard her essence in a world that labels her as "too much". But most importantly, we can see her breaking free from the cage society has kept her. And Wrath was the key. In a society where getting mad means madness, come and walk with us as this woman is reborn like a phoenix and allies herself with karma to burn those who have wronged her.
And now for the funny (😏😉🥵) part. Although Valerie was ready to blaze the world alone, three gentlemen in black armour helping her can't do any harm.
We have Slash, the obsessed but supportive.
We have Fabien, the peacekeeper but observant.
And we have Isaac, the disciplined but caring.
And Valerie has them all. She will mend them, and they will free her. And all four (pun intended ifykyk) will make you blush in the process.
Which brings me to the second lie of Catte. She also dared to say this was a "fast-burn" trope book. But the yearning is very much present. They spent three years wanting each other, believing they were not made for each other, convincing themselves they were good without. And once they catch fire, THEY BURN LIKE THREE YEARS' WORTH OF FUEL.
This is a well-rounded fast-paced novella. It will give you everything it promises.
But I do have to take the 0.5 deduction because it will also leave you wanting more. Not because it felt incomplete, but rather because it will make you attached to those four and leave you begging for one glimpse more.
So please, come and join us at the gates of hell. Because this journey is only starting. 🔥😈

Such a fun little novella just in time for Halloween!!

I loved Valerie’s emotional growth and watching her slowly realize her own worth after spending eight years in a relationship where her fiancé constantly silenced her and shaped her into the version he wanted, all under the excuse of “taking care of her.”

The MMCs were so much fun to follow, each with such a distinct personality. I loved Slash’s obsession with Halloween and his decorations and the way he encourages Valerie to go after what she wants, Fabien’s ability to trust and fully give himself to her, and Isaac constantly overthinking every possible scenario before finally letting go.

The dynamic between the four of them was priceless, especially with that shared “perfect day” from their past connecting them all these years later.

And don’t get me wrong… there’s so much emotion but THE SPICE IS SPICING!
I was basically thinking “you go girl, get them!” the entire time.

Quick, addictive, emotional and hot!
I’m already completely down for the next novellas!!

Cute, fun and spicy.
This novella was completely ON POINT.

Cate’s writing caught my attention right from the start. It’s quite simple but so refreshing, and it makes you want to read more and more.

I loved Valerie and the message behind her story: we should never dim ourselves. We have to fight for ourselves and always choose what truly makes us happy. Never settle.

Slash is clearly my favorite. He killed me. No words for him. His obsession is my obsession eheh.

Isaac is the grumpy one and I loved it.

I didn’t connect with Fabien as much, but he’s also cute.

Buuuuuut can we talk about chapter 9???? And chapter 11?????

Let me tell you… that’s how you write a PERFECT spicy scene. We don’t have to pretend to understand what’s going on — it’s so well written that we can picture every detail.

The only downside of this novella is the ending. I wish we could have had more, and I’m already dying to read the next ones. 🖤

A perfect spooky season read, I mean who wouldn’t want to read about 3 men who yearned for a woman for years and now is the time they make their move to claim her.

Freed by wrath is a short holiday seasons novella which follows Valerie who is at her cousins product launch party only to find out her fiancé is cheating with said cousin, and yes she catches them both in the act. Our first MMC Slash is also at the event but the only reason he is there is for Valerie and also witnesses the incident. Now he sees an opportunity in which he takes Valerie and brings her back to his house that he shares with Fabien and Isaac, who did I mention are all obsessed with Valerie.

The night consists of reconnections and passion. While Valerie may have been off limits for years she is newly single and these men are not going to leave her slip by a second time.

I loved this quick short read and I cannot wait to read more in the holiday sins series 🖤

When I pick up a novella, I want something short, fast-paced, and that grabs me from the beginning, and Freed by Wrath delivered exactly that.

I really liked Valerie and loved seeing her become more comfortable with herself throughout the story. Even though this is a short novella, we still get a little bit of backstory, good spice, and enough plot to make it feel complete.

The MMCs were all so fun, chaotic, and full of personality. I especially loved the dynamic between the four of them!
I also really liked how Isaac tried to be the protective and the reasonable one from the beginning, even with the other two chaotic men around him. 😂

Slash was definitely my favourite MMC, but they all have a little piece of my heart now. 🖤

Como todas as FMC´S desta autora, a Valerie é uma mulher que encontra a sua força em ser quem é,expressa o que gosta e o que quer e tem uma luz que traz felicidade a todos os que a conhecem. O Isaac é o mais responsável dos 3 amigos deste grupo, preocupa-se com possíveis consequências em relação aos amigos e demonstra à Valerie um tipo de carinho que começa num conforto de duas pessoas que se entendem intimamente.

No entanto, preparem-se para também sentirem a raiva e fúria que domina a Valerie, quando percebem o que lhe acontece.

I could relate to Valerie within just a couple of pages, and I loved the dynamic between her and the men. I read this in one sitting because I WAS HOOKED!

First of all, a huge thank you to Catte for letting me be part of this project and for trusting me with an early read of this story! It was so much fun getting to experience Freed by Wrath before release and watch this story come together.

As I already mentioned in my review for Bonded Beyond the Veil, I really love Catte’s writing and, more than anything, the way she makes me connect with her characters. And that was definitely the case here.

Obviously, this is a novella, so you can’t expect the relationships between the characters to develop slowly. There simply isn’t the same amount of time to develop everything as there would be in a full-length romance. But even with that, I still felt the connection between them, and I loved watching their dynamic come together.

And honestly? I really loved it.

The Halloween atmosphere was EVERYTHING. The masks, the party, the decorations, the whole Wrath theme… it really felt like a Halloween story from beginning to end, and I loved that the Halloween vibes didn’t disappear after the first chapters.

And then we have Valerie. 🥹

I think her journey ended up being my favorite part of the story. She spent so many years making herself smaller and changing who she was to fit someone else’s idea of the perfect woman, and watching her slowly find herself again was honestly so satisfying.

“𝗜 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿. 𝗜 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲.” That line really got me. 🥲

And obviously… the three men 👀

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱. 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 😈

Slash, Fabien, and Isaac each have such different personalities, and I really enjoyed the dynamic between them and Valerie. Slash is so obsessed with her, Fabien brings all the chaotic/playful energy, and Isaac is the one who makes you go, “Okay, at least SOMEONE here has a brain.” 😂

But don’t ask me to choose between them. Because… WHY CHOOSE? 😈

The spice was definitely spicy 🌶️ and there was no shortage of chemistry between all four of them.

My only problem? I WANTED MORE. I could have happily read another 300 pages of these four.

Overall, I had a really good time with this one. It was darkish, spicy, chaotic, very Halloween-coded, and I loved seeing Valerie finally stop apologizing for taking up space.

And that epilogue? 🥹 Seeing her with a job, making friends, laughing again, and actually building a life that she chose was exactly what I wanted for her.

Wrath really did free her. 🖤🎃
