And as Halloween gets closer, so does he...

Would you keep a love letter from your stalker?

Your Halloween Stalker is a dark, obsessive Halloween romance told in second person through a series of letters, putting YOU in the heroine’s place. Expect anonymous love letters, stalking, a morally black hero, filthy fantasies, touch-her-and-d!e energy, dark humor, and mutual obsession.

Advanced reader review

Ever hear of a stalker who is also a golden retriever? Neither did I until I read Your Halloween Stalker. This man. He’s so respectful. Like respectfully pound you into your mattress. He seriously was asking for consent to just touch an ankle. Hes not the person who wouldn’t k1ll for you but also the person who would because they didn’t respect you. Like I’m perplexed how he understands consent but it’s still something debated on in society.
I really enjoyed this story, I was kicking my feet, giggling, and smiling so hard during the whole novella like I ate this up. I need more

Unhinged, Spicy, and Surprisingly Sweet

The cover and title alone drew me in. I didn’t read any reviews (I never actually do!) and I didn’t even read the blurb. I went into this completely blind after searching for Halloween books. I almost passed on borrowing it when I saw it was only 89 pages and that would have been a massive horrible mistake! I rarely find novellas I truly enjoy, but this one was so different.

I loved that the reader is the main character and love interest, I’ve only seen one other book attempt this pov, and it worked so well here. The next best part that completely hooked me was the letters, it was such a creative way to tell the story. Your Halloween Stalker by Maree Rose givess everything a great novella should, emotion, mystery, a fast pace that keeps you hooked, plenty of spice (which at times may have been a little much), and some laugh out loud dark humor moments. It instantly pulls you into a dark, atmospheric Halloween vibe.

This book has so many classic dark romance tropes but the male main character is unexpectedly funny I was giggling throughout the entire read. He is unapologetically himself, fully aware that his actions are unhinged, yet admits he can’t and won’t stop unless asked. The way he writes to the reader is everything we want (not a stalker type....maybe?😅). He is very supportive and constantly pushes you to be confident in who you are. He gets upset whenever the reader picks at herself or points out her own flaws, reminding us to stop negative self talk and see our own beauty. (Writing a review when you are the main character is so tricky—do I say "FMC," "she," or "us"? I ended up using them all so sorry if it gets confusing.
"I'd like five minutes alone with that voice in your head. Shame I can't actually beat the shit out of an insecurity, because I'd enjoy trying."

My only minor critiques are that a few parts felt slightly repetitive, and there was a bit more spice than I personally thought was needed., Even with those small points, it’s still a fantastic read and absolutely perfect for the spooky season. It’s very rare for me to give a novella 4.5 stars, but this one earned it. I highly recommend it!

"P.S. If you catch yourself looking in the mirror tonight and thinking you're too much, try something new. Leave the thought there and walk away without taking it with you."

This was a completely different kind of read for me. I loved it though. I loved feeling like I was reading about myself and I was the person the stalker was stalking. I enjoyed reading how everything played out, how he was watching, telling things about the FMC and why the FMC was wrong in her assumption of herself.

I enjoyed how this was purely from the stalkers POV in letters. A different take than anything I’ve ever read.

I really loved the vibe of this book and how everything felt like it was being directed at me personally. It created such a unique reading experience, and I’ve genuinely never had a book make me feel that way before! I also really liked the character behind the letters, and I think you can understand why reporting him isn’t the first thing on the main character’s mind at the beginning. Watching his obsession grow throughout the story and seeing just how possessive he becomes was really interesting. I thought the ending was good, too!

Overall, this was such a unique and memorable reading experience, and I’m glad I picked it up. There was just something that stopped it from being a full five stars for me, even though I really enjoyed it. Definitely a fun read for anyone who enjoys a creepy, obsessive stalker vibe!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are completely my own. 🎃

It’s a very different and unique reading experience. This book is written in a way, that you the reader, are the FMC.
Each chapter makes the MMC more obsessed, possessive and just slightly unhinged. I love that he was yearning for the FMC. I really felt like I was the FMC while reading and that made the story come more alive for me. Apparently I make some questionable decisions that I may or may not secretly enjoy.
It is really a short read but that doesn’t take away from the fun. You read about the days leading up to Halloween and when you finally meet the MMC it’s a very spicy encounter.
You also get a very HEA, which I love. You should definitely read this book if you’re in the mood for a dark and cozy halloween romance story.

Thank you Maree Rose for the e.ARC!

This was cute

I liked it! I went in knowing it was letters but did expect it to change at some point but it didn’t so that’s on me. I like the whole stalker idea, especially around Halloween. The stalker was surprisingly.. sweet? He cared about consent (as much as you can when you stalk someone I suppose) and let his “victim” if you will, decide how far things got to go. He did do some questionable things, but again, he’s a stalker so kind of expected. The spice was also pretty good. Again it’s in the form of letters, so the stalker is writing about fantasies and what actually happens, which threw me off slightly but that’s a me thing. Anyway, I enjoyed this little novella and would love to read ‘Your Christmas Stalker’ when it comes out.

OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD!!! This was such a a different take on a stalker romance and I loved it. I loved that I the reader was the main character. I also loved how the stalker was a consent king - like all the green flags with some red flags sprinkled through (murder, anyone?). Anyway, I really enjoyed this and read it super quickly. Like I couldn’t put it down. This was a different take on a book altogether. I wish we got to see how the main female (aka the reader) got to be unhinged back to the stalker. I also like that we never knew who the stalker was and it was up to our imagination. In my mind it was Steve Kemp (Sebastian Stan) from the movie Fresh (which I also recommend).

y/n stalker romance where the whole thing is told from the letters you're stalker writes to you.
I've never read much y/n before, purely because I struggle with it, but this has been the best and easiest for me.
Really enjoyed it, and i hope Maree writes more on this style bc now i have an invested interest in y/n letter storytelling.

So if you want to get yourself a safe stalker boyf who respects boundaries (he might break into your house though) and is completely obsessed with you then give this novella a whirl.

I have to say I’ve never read anything quite like this before and I absolutely loved every second of it. It’s almost as if I’m the MFC discovering these letters from my stalker and watching a story unfold that I’m a part of. Plus our stalker notices the little things. Like the way you carry yourself or stop yourself from buying that little something you really want. Yeah, he noticed. He notices it all. Definitely a perfect and quick read for Halloween.

This was such a unique perspective because we get to experience the story entirely from the stalker’s POV through his letters. It was creepy, obsessive, twisted, and honestly so much fun to read. I loved how the letters started out almost sweet and flattering before slowly getting darker and more possessive. The Halloween atmosphere made it even better, and the second person POV really pulled me into the story. Definitely a fun, dark, unhinged Halloween read! 🎃🖤

WOW! Honestly that's all I can say. This was my first book that I've read where the reader is the FMC and I absolutely LOVED IT. I feel like this is a book that I can recommend to EVERYONE. Usually some of my friends get iffy about 'stalkers', but this stalker had boundaries and required consent! And his words in those letters... girl... I need to find me one of them! I will be standing in line waiting for Your Christmas Stalker to be released December 11th! It's so good!

This was too easy to believe that these letters were being written to me.
Funny, crazy, a little scary, and so goddamn filthy, especially as October drew to a close.
By October 27 I was overheating and squirming, reaching a peak on Halloween.
This was unusual, so clever and so beautifully written. I believed in his voice, I could hear him talking to me.
Wow 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

I was so lucky to be given an advanced reader copy of this book and I had so much fun reading it. It was new, fun and different since it was all in letters so we were mainly only really in the head of the guy. The stalker vibes was cute and so was his devotion especially when he got frustrated over her picking herself apart.

Hot damn, letters from a masked stalker reading like they're for me personally? Swoooon. 🥵

A short, sweet and spicy Halloween novella that is equal parts addicting and hot.
An obsessed man, who knows what he wants and respects boundaries? And writes fucking delicious letters about his devotion and the dirty things he wants to do to you? Sold. 💁🏻‍♀️

Did I finish this in one sitting? Absolutely!

We read the letters written by the MMC and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t smile reading them. Reading the next one you can picture the FMC reaction at reading his letters. The ending was everything! I didn’t expect it but I loved it and it was the perfect way to end it.

Such a different read! I loved how the story makes you feel like you are opening it up and it’s meant just for “you”. It made it so fun to read. Once again Maree adds the mystery and spice that pulls you in and you can’t wait to read it ALL! I would love more stories like this.

Seriously, this book was something else. Not only was I the one being stalked but the man knew how to be the most respectful morally gray man ever. Seriously I was giggling and kicking my feet like a little girl the whole time anticipating what was going to happen with us next.

I honestly am not sure what to say. I loved this book. I wasn't sure when I heard that it was a stalker writing letters, just reading letters didn't sound appealing to me. But to my surprise I could not put it down, it was refreshing to read the stalkers pov and not the fmc pov.

letters!

Loved the presentation of this, and the pov. It’s was different from most dark romance I’ve read. At the risk of not giving too much away, I did find some of this to be super repetitive but this book makes sense for that to happen considering who’s “talking”.
