"Did you think you could overpower me? How foolish. No. Our understandings of the word power are fundamentally different. Let me show you what real power is." [Aizen]

What kind of words should I use to describe the masterpiece that is this volume and BLEACH overall? I don't think any of words I could think of would've been enough. As an anime fan, I already knew what will happen, but no matter if it's the anime version or the manga version, the feelings are the same. Tite Kubo, the author of BLEACH is truly a genius when it comes to art, to visuals of the battles, the designs and depth of the characters, the creation of the villains, and the plot twists. Trust me when I say that BLEACH has it all.

"I'm not asking you not to hate me or to put aside your grudge. Just... don't allow your hunger for revenge to change who you are. As with the loss of your friend... To lose you would leave a hole in my heart."
"Thank you, Komamura. Hisagi... Let me take a good look at your face. I can still see, thanks to the effects of hollowfication."

I am saying once again that I'm not sorry for Tousen. He made his choice in life and every choice has its' consequence. He had every opportunity to change, but he never did until it was already too late. The "Let me take a good look at your face line made me tear up, but not because of Tousen, but because of Hisagi. I know how much his captain meant to him and I can only imagine how much of a torture the whole battle had to be for him. And the way it all ended? I remember how shocked I was when I first saw the BOOM in the anime. But it should've been obvious what will happen, knowing Aizen's character. It seems like too much of cruelty, but... it's Aizen. He was never merciful. To anyone.

What would've happened if the BOOM never took place? Would Tousen change sides? Would Soul Reapers forgive him? We will never know.

"Let me ask you one thing, Ryoka boy. What are you fighting for? Do you hate me? You shouldn't. The fact that you're here means that Orihime Inoue is safe. Judging from how you look, none of your friends are dead. If that is all true... can you really hate me from the bottom of your heart?" [Aizen]

Sôsuke Aizen is without any doubt one of the best written anime villains of all time. You can argue that his goal is hollow (pun not intended), but you can't deny what of an incredibly intimidating and terrific aura he always has. He strives for power, but the truth is that he doesn't need any more power - he already is an incredible danger for the Soul Society. None of the captains stand a chance against him. He flicks everyone away like they aren't nothing more than irritating flies that dare to attack him. With a very dangerous combination of intelligence and power, he's always a step ahead of everyone. No one stand a chance against him, because people's personalities and behaviours are like an open book for him. It's like no matter what you're gonna do, what choice you will make, he will know about it even before you will make the decision. And I didn't even point out yet how powerful his Zanpakuto is. With his intelligence, his strength and the manipulations skills of both him and his sword, he seems to be unbeatable.

"We'll fight to protect you."
"Fight to... protect me?! What are you guys talking about? That's crazy. You're all beat up!"
"What's so crazy about it? To allow you to fight alone would be even crazier. A lot of people wouldn't appreciate you doing it singlehandedly. Don't take this all on yourself. That's arrogance. We all have a stake in this battle."

"Put on your game face already. You'll only get one chance to attack him. You'll squander the opportunity like that. Don't think because we're fighting this battle that we're resigned to death. We're fighting to live. Saving the world is just a lofty-sounding pretext. We're fighting to save ourselves, to save you and save everybody from Aizen. So don't fall behind Ichigo Kurosaki."

CAN YOU IMAGINE THE AMOUNT OF TEARS I HAVE SHARED OVER THIS SCENE IN BOTH THE ANIME AND THE MANGA?? This is the one thing I always wanted to see - Ichigo being in the center and everyone else standing around him and fighting all together - for themselves and for him. This one scene alone is like a dream come true! And it's REAL! It's canon! It really happened!

That's right. What am I so afraid of? It's the Vizards and the captains! Believe. I can trust them. Watch closely where this battle goes.

The way Ichigo protested at first (but only because he saw that everyone were in a bad shape already), but decided to stay back and observe the battle, believing wholeheartedly in his Soul Reaper friends and waiting patiently for the right opportunity to strike... THIS IS CINEMA FOR ME, MY FRIENDS. It's all I ever wanted to see! Ichigo and everyone together, fighting side by side and believing in one another. When I was younger I was obsessed with romance books (especially paranormal romance ones). Now I still like romance stories (the well-written ones), but what I'm mostly yearning for in the stories are all kinds of love, not just the romantic one. All kinds of bonds between people. And BLEACH is giving me that.

"Aizen, you said a blade without hatred is like an eagle without wings. That sword swung out of duty couldn't reach you. I'll tell you since you don't seem to know... Swinging your sword for duty is what a captain does. To swing a sword out of hatred is just violence. We don't call that a battle. Aizen, you aren't captain material."
"Interesting. I'm surprised to hear those words from the captain who hates me the most. Are you saying there's no hatred in that sword you're holding? Or... did your hatred disappear the moment Hinamori showed up here fully healed?"

Can we talk for a second about the amount of trauma that Aizen had put Hitsugaya in? I don't know what kind of grudge he had hold for Hitsugaya or if he was just a convenient tool that he needed in his twisted game, but damn, it's truly crazy how much this boy had to get through! Everyone were manipulated, but Hitsugaya and Hinamori took the hardest blow, not once and not twice. I cannot blame him for loosing control in the middle of the battle. Do Soul Society have psychiatrists? Because this boy definitely needed one! The poor, poor soul :(

Everyone: "WE GOT IT! THEY DID IT!"
Ichigo: "What.. WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU GUYS DOING?!"

I already praised Tite Kubo for the amount of twists and turns his story has, and I will do it again, because it's truly something phenomenal. There is no way you can predict what will happen (if you're not Aizen, that is). As an anime fan, I was already prepared, but I'm still in awe of everything what's happening, especially during the Winter War. In Bleach there are always ups and downs. You think the hero is getting an upper hand, but then the tables get turned so quickly and so spectacularly that you're left speechless. Truly a masterpiece.

There are some things left to write about, but I will stop my review now, because it's too long already. We ended Volume 45 with Ichigo (finally) jumping into action and standing up against Aizen. But is this it? Is this the final battle? With all the captains down, with Tousen down, the only one standing are Ichigo and Aizen... And Gin. What is Gin doing? Will he intervene? Will Ichigo be strong enough to win against them? We will see very soon!

Some things I need to talk about (please forgive me for the length of this review!)

~ "Welcome to the upside down world." - Shinji's Zanpakuto is one of the coolest Bleach swords ever and it makes me upset that his fights are always so short (because his mouth is too big!)
~ Ichigo's entrances are always iconic!
~ The way everyone went down in such a short amount of time... They dropped like flies... :( It's so painful to see every time :(
~ How did Hinamori got up there?! Seriously, how?!
~ "You're naive, so naive it makes me dizzy. Don't you know why I've been able to serve as the captain general of Gotei 13 for a millenium?" - FOR A MILLENIUM?!! 😨
~ "How cruel."
"Cruel? Souls that have become Hollows have no purpose. They mindlessly consume other souls. What's so cruel about giving them a purpose?"
- how of a twisted person Aizen has to be to use all Hollows for his own interests and frame it like he has done them a favor?
~ I was never a fan of Genryuusai, but his immediate jump into a sacrifice just to protect Ichigo's little town is truly something to admire. I also really like how incredibly strong and incredibly intimidating he is - like the head captain should be.

Such a good volume! Ichigo is finally here, but the Captains are sacrificing everything to try and beat Aizen and protect Ichigo. Aizen’s power is terrifying because it can control your senses and you won’t even notice until it’s too late. Also Yamamoto is awesome! I see why he’s in the position he’s in for as long as it’s been. It’s up to you Ichigo.

Bleach, Vol. 45 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (387–395) of the on-going manga series.

With his humanity restored, the defeated Kaname Tōsen comes to his senses and requests to see Shūhei Hisagi's face one last time. However, Tōsen dies when Sōsuke Aizen causes an internal impact and destroys his defeated ally's body.

By that time, Ichigo Kurosaki and Retsu Unohana arrive to the fake Karakura Town. Ichigo's first attempt to kill Aizen fails, but the remaining captains and Vizards jump to his defense, attempting to keep Ichigo from failing under Aizen's spell while giving him an opening that will finish the fight. However, the plan falls apart when Aizen provokes Tōshirō Hitsugaya to attack him, allowing him to defeat the Soul Reapers and Vizards single-handedly. This forces Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto to join the fray, allowing Aizen to stab him so he can hold the opponent while preparing to incinerate both of them.

However, Wonderweiss Margela appears and extinguishes Yamamoto's flames, Aizen revealing he created the Arrancar for the purpose to nullify Ryūjin Jakka. Yamamoto manages to shatter Wonderweiss's body, only to be forced to risk his life to minimize the explosion from his flames bursting from the remains. However, Yamamoto manages to catch Aizen off-guard and wound him. As Aizen manages to get away relatively unscathed, Ichigo attacks him.

This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. The battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Sōsuke Aizen finally begins. As Ichigo is the only person not under Aizen's power, he is the only hope to save not just Soul Society, but the world. Unfortunately, Aizen is filled with guile as he managed to defeat most of his enemies in a single attack and managed to nullify Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto and his awesome power via Wonderweiss Margela. However, Aizen underestimated the esteem Yamamoto and managed to get injured, which Ichigo capitalized on.

All in all, Bleach, Vol. 45 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.

No! NO! You have GOT to be friggin KIDDING ME!!! Ichigo, you were supposed to be boss in this volume, but all the action you really took was standing around off to the side. >:/ Gosh.
I have to admit that Shinji's sword is pretty awesome, but the way everything is drawn and explained, it's kind of hard to see things from Aizen's perspective, (if he's the only person affected.)
Komamura and Hisagi speak some more and I guess 'say their goodbyes' to Tôsen before Aizen sliced him up.
Ichigo finally appears from a crack in the sky! (That darn slacker!!) and attacks Aizen from behind, but his first strike goes to no prevail. It seems like he kind of flips out, but all the other Captains and Soul Reapers give him their support and promise they'll protect him.
Captain Hitsugaya and Komamura seem to take over the battle with Aizen for the time being during this volume, and later Soi Fon and Kyoraku join in. Tôshirô stabs him through the back, but they all realize it was really Hinamori.
OKAY IM DONE THIS BASTARD NEEDS TO DIE SOON OR IM GONNA HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN AND FANDOM TEMPERTANTRUM.
Yamamoto comes into play, but Wonder Weiss comes, and we discover his only purpose was to diminish Yamamoto's Ryujin Jakka flame. A short battle between them ensued, but soon it seemed like Aizen would prevail over the 13 court guards, but then Yamamoto used Hado 96, Itto Kaso (Flame Sword Burial) to throw Aizen off, and FINALLY the slacker jumps in to strike Aizen and finish the battle.
It seriously bothers me that Ichigo was standing aside stunned. And if he doesn't fall for Aizen's tricks, wouldn't he have been able to call out to the others and say: "You're friggin attacking Hinamori!!"?
He could have joined at any point before Yamamoto jumped in, but he waited for after Yamamoto looked to be about to lose. -_-
Well lets hope Ichigo won't slack off in the next volume.

This volume was fantastic from start to finish. I loved the bittersweet ending to Tōsen’s character arc and how brutally his goodbye to his friends was ripped away. I loved that Ichigo finally joined the fight against Aizen and I loved seeing the entire remaining cast team up to fight Aizen all at once. I like how powerful Aizen was and how he was able to use his hypnosis ability to fight and manipulate all of these other powerful characters. The fake out switch with Momo as a victim was especially cruel but very on-brand for Aizen’s character. I loved Yamamoto squaring up against Aizen and I loved how Wonderweiss’s character is revealed to be an engineered Arrancar born for the sole purpose of neutralizing Yamamoto’s powerful sword. I thought this plot thread was a clever way to neutralize Yamamoto’s character without discrediting his power. I loved how fast paced this volume was and how it ends with a transition into the beginning of the final fight between Ichigo and Aizen.

I have to admit that Ichigo was reduced to a wimp in this volume and it is completely uncalled for when he's accomplished so much with a truly poised and dominant manner. I think mangaka Tite Kubo was trying to remind us that he's still a kid in all this chaos while allowing all the remaining survivors the chance to showcase their final performance as they go up against Aizen.

The battle that ensues is epic in its own way, making use of various abilities to create a coherent whole and deliver a spectacular battle. The arrival of Yamamoto into the battle also diverges the narratives to a subplot that was always in Aizen's plans, leading us to a truly incredible ending.

And that cliffhanger was illegal. At least the pacing remains top-notch with little dialogue (when there was any, it was mostly to explain someone's powers or to taunt someone) and plenty of action.

Yours truly,

So god damn good, I'm in half a mind to dish out another five here but the first few chapters weren't the best. Yamamoto is finally here and he is as awesome as you'd expect. Aizen is in full swing and he is just ridiculously, stupidly strong. He is also incredibly menacing and his dialogue/drawing is as close to perfection as your likely to see. The way the captain's combined to fight him was really cool. Ichigo is also finally back and ready to join the fight. The last hope is my goat.

Given that Manga, and especially Shonen is split up into bigger arcs as composed to volumes I will be analyzing and reviewing this by Arc. I also reread this manga over the span of 2 months, some days reading as much as 100 chapters a day. It would be quite tedious for me to review each 7-8 chapter volume. So this will be copy and pasted throughout all of the 72 manga volumes. That being said, if you're looking at this without having viewed the series...spoiler warning. I don't recap anything, but I also mention things that happen. If you want me to answer the question "Should I pick this up?" Yes. Even if you stop at the end of the Soul Society Arc. It's worth it.

Karakura Town Arc - Chapters 1-56 - Rating: 7/10
(The official page lumps this in with the Soul Society Arc however I feel as if they are two very separate arcs with two very separate themes)
- A fun introduction.
-An interesting premise on the idea of ghosts and demons (Hollows)
-Does a good job of introducing the characters and I especially enjoyed the love for characters like Chad, Orihime and Uryu as these characters would later lose more and more spotlight as the series went on.
-It is a bit of a monster of the week. When it works, like with Chad's introduction story. It works. But Characters like Don Kanonji felt superficial and very gimmicky. Which, fair. I didn't enjoy them as much.

Soul Society Arc - Chapters 57-182 - Rating: 10/10
-The height of Bleach
-Establishes an afterlife seemingly perfectly. Later on revealed to be full of plot holes and never fleshed out but hey! That's not an issue in THIS arc. The fights are top tier, the themes of Ichigo owing a life debt to Rukia and his passion and determination to rise above literally God's army is inspiring and to this day is why I love Ichigo so much. He doesn't have some grandiose plan. He doesn't have a major goal to accomplish. He is a protector by heart, losing his mother has made him sour to failing to protect those he cares about and he'll do anything in his power never to feel that helpless again. Very powerful stuff.
-The twist near the end of this arc is revolutionary and would make waves for the next 200 chapters onward. A perfect ending and set up for the forthcoming arc.
-The only issues I have for this arc would be Ichigo's lightning speed progression. The guy goes from being able to barely defeat a third seat to besting multiple captains in roughly 100 or less chapters. I get that that is the point and him defeating captains was more of a struck of luck, but progression and pacing wise it feels very unearned and a factor of "for the plot he needed to be this strong" It only seems as fast as it is because Ichigo's progression slows drastically down for the rest of the story moving foreword so it's only now that I make that criticism.
-Also, and this will be an issue in most Shonen. There are 13 Captains with 13 Vice Captains and seats that branch all the way to 10 I believe? Regardless, there's a fudge ton of characters that are introduced here and it can get a little jarring at times. Luckily, Kubo does a great job at making their designs and characters unique despite such a large cast.

Hueco Mundo Arc - Chapters 183-423 - Rating 7/10
-This is another arc where personally I would split it up into two separate arcs. But for the sake of this review I will simply refer to the first half of the arc and the later half of the arc. First Half 9/10. Second Half. 5/10.
-The first half of this arc is a great continuation of the last. Ichigo now struggles with his inner demons and it affects his ability to protect the ones he loves. We are also introduced to a deadly unknown new villains. The Arrancars/Espada to this day remain one of my favorite villain factions in all of manga enemies.
-Just so you're aware I would say the first half of this arc ends right around the point of Ichigo vs Grimmjow. Grimmjow is one of the first Arrancar that Ichigo faces. And he's also one of two Espada that he faces three times. The conclusion of that fight shows Ichigo conquering his inner demons. Where Grimmjow is very much fighting to establish himself. Grimmjow has to fight Ichigo to prove to his fallen comrades that he is as good as he says he is. He doesn't care about Aizen, he doesn't care about the rest of the Espada. It is very personal for him. For Ichigo, Orohime is within his grasp of saving and he views this as his "final" battle. It's my favorite fight in all of Bleach.
-However, this is where things start to take a bit of dip in quality in my opinion. We had a goal and we were striving towards that goal. Each character of the original cast coming to repay the debt they made to their friend who had risked her life to save them in the Soul society arc. But somewhere along the way it seems we just had a fighter fest. Captains would face enemies with no themes or character revelations. The Espadas got a little light but nothing that made their fights compelling. You almost just feel bad for the Espada as they were monsters turned into a military force by an unstoppable tyrant. But even that wasn't enough to make half of the fights interesting. Now, that's with knowing the outcome. These fights played little importance in the larger scheme of things. Where at least in the Hueco Mundo fights each match up had the protagonists striving for a goal. Rukia to defeat Aaroneiro to free her former superiors soul. Byakuya to defend Rukia. Renji and Uryu teamwork. Nel to protect Ichigo and get revenge on Nnoitra. Whereas Stark fought Kyoraku.....cause.....and Hitsugaya fought Halibel because Water vs Ice would be cool.
-This leaves me to the end. I won't say it wasn't satisfying that Ichigo was able to defeat Aizen. And yes, I do feel like his new power was earned. 3 months of training. But this was clearly a last minute decision to save Aizen for a later date and the show must go on. I do feel like it wasn't as satisfying as 200+ chapter buildup needed to be.

The Fullbring Arc - Chapters 424-479 - Rating: 8/10
-A very underrated arc. And yes, I acknowledge that rating wise I think the Fullbring arc is superior to the Hueco Mundo arc. That is mostly true. Though I like the first half of the Hueco Mundo Arc more than the Fullbring arc. The end of the HM arc really brought it down for me. The Fullbring Arc is much more concise and is actually the shortest arc in the series and works as a glorified Ichigo getting his powers back arc. But that doesn't mean its bad.
-When I read it originally back when it was coming out in 2010. (Cause I'm Old) It wasn't phenomenal. In fact, I hated it. But wouldn't you? It took just short of a year to get to the point that we were at. But upon rereading it, it gave much deserved love to the characters who hadn't been shown love in quite some time. The original cast. It was a very character focused arc. Ichigo never seemed more human. And despite me hating it before for taking so long, reading weekly can sometimes hurt these mystery based arcs. The twist is heavily foreshadowed and I really appreciated it.
-That being said, the end was super rushed. This was a big bummer for me. The villains this time around were humans. And the ones who had the most exposure and relations with these characters were the original cast who again....were humans. So to have the soul reapers, who have no connection to the fullbringers show up and basically no diff most of the fullbringers felt very forced and fanservicey to me. This very well could have not been Kubo's call. As the community was very vocal about their dislike for this arc as it was going on. But I appreciate it now much more as I appreciate character and story over big sword fights. Lol.

The Thousand Year Blood War Arc - Chapters 424-689 - Rating: 5/10
-And we're finally here. The final and largest arc within the Bleach story. And man...does it not stick the landing.
-That being said, this arc has phenomenal moments. Kenpachi's Shikai and Bankai. Ichigo's double swords. Renji's true Bankai. Rukia's Bankai. And many more. However, they are put together against the most break neck speed arc that I have ever read. Kubo was very ambitious when he introduced 26 new villains. However, most of them got barely any screen time and a lot of them even got off screened by higher level captains. This was unlike the Espada who each got a full double page spread for their Resurrections.
-Yhwach himself was a phenomenal villain but was dealt with swiftly and imo dirty. They did him dirty.
-There was just something off. The mood changed and it was very apparent. The villains had random powers instead of the powers reflecting their personalities or needs. The finale felt so underwhelming.
-Ichigo gets to be the strongest he's ever been....but he doesn't defeat a single person besides the main villain despite being in several fights.
-It isn't a good arc. In fact, I would say it's the worst. Hopefully the anime does a better job with this already mammoth of a story. 260 chapters is no joke.

This gives the story of Bleach an Overall rating of 7.4/10. Which to me is above average. It has it's ups and downs. It's not perfect. But when it's high, it's peak shonen. But when it's low, it's very forgettable.

VOLUME 45: CHAPTER 387-395
Arc 9: Arrancar: Downfall

Shinji's Sakanade's power is it can reverse the enemy's senses. Left become right, up become down, and so on. Aizen can overcame it. Ichigo knows that he doesn't need to fight alone. There are Gotei 13 and Vizards and he can rely on them. Toushirou used Bankai to attack Aizen. Komamura, Love and Rōjūrō also joined the battle and attack Aizen simultaneously. Komamura, Love and Rōjūrō were defeated. Suí-Féng join the battle along with Toushirou. Toushirou managed to stab Aizen from the back.

Aizen have been using his Kyouka Suigetsu from the start. The one that Toushirou stabbed is Hinamori instead of the real Aizen. Aizen who is recognized as Hinamori have slashed Kira and Iba. With his overwhelming power, Aizen cut down Toushirou, Suí-Féng, Kyouraku and Shinji. Yamamoto joins the battle. Aizen managed to stab him in the stomach but Yamamoto grabbed Aizen's arm. He used Ennetsu Jigoku that will burn the whole Fake Karakura Town along with the Gotei 13. Suddenly, Wonderweiss who is in his Resurrecion: Extinguir form stopped Yamamoto and extinguish his fire of Ryujin Jakka. Aizen said that Wonderweiss is the only modified Arrancar that created to suppress the power of Yamamoto's Ryujin Jakka.

Yamamoto fights Wonderweiss with his fist and managed to kill him. Yamamoto's Ryuujin Jakka was sealed inside Wonderweiss and it's going to explode. Yamamoto managed to take the damage of the explosion with his body. Yamamoto lying on the ground and Aizen is ready to kill Yamamoto. Yamamoto then used Kidou but Aizen managed to escape. Suddenly, Ichigo with his Hollow mask appears.

Shinji’s sword has an unusual shape… and Aizen has no idea what it can do. But he’s about to find out. Apparently Shinji’s sword changes up to down, front to back, right to left, left to right. Aizen doesn’t seem particularly concerned, but maybe he should look behind him, because here comes Ichigo!

Aizen just loves to taunt people, and he wastes no time trying to chip away at Ichigo’s ego. But the Thirteen Court Guard captains quickly step up and assure Ichigo they will protect him. Aizen turns his attention to Hitsugaya, hitting him where it hurts—Hinamori. But Shunsui takes advantage of Aizen’s preoccupation with the diminutive captain to sneak up on him. Meanwhile, on the sidelines, Gin thinks how clueless they all are regarding Aizen’s powers.

Ichigo is being careful not to witness Aizen’s shikai. But the others, having seen it, are vulnerable to it. Which makes their actions inexplicable to Ichigo, who wonders what they’re doing when they result in one of them being wounded by another one! The Captain General now steps into the fray, determined to take down Aizen himself… even if he dies doing so.

And now it’s everyone against Aizen, with Tosen gone and Gin just standing by. (Wonder why that is?) Will they really be able to take him down? Will the battle for Karakura Town really be over? Or is this just the prelude to something else? I suspect Aizen still has a few tricks up his sleeve, and it won’t be as easy as they hope. Another great volume, look forward to the next!

Holy crap Aizen masterclass. I forgot just how hard Aizen actually is.

Tone and pacing are perfect in this stretch; there’s equal emphasis on the mechanics of everybody’s bankai’s working together, the stress of this assault, and the emotional toll that such helplessness brings. Hype moment after hype moment after hype moment, each followed by a perfect counter by Aizen. Kubo is in the kitchen.

Tosen finally steps out of Aizen’s shadow against Hisagi and Konami’s - big for his character and big for developing the development of his former companions. Hisagi and Komamura’s origins are solid and elevate the whole scene. Banger.

Aizen drops exclusively cold lines. For a series that uses “B..blast it!” every other chapter, I was surprised by how thoughtful and cutting Aizen’s dialogue was. He pretty much handles a 10v1 and what else can be said but it’s awesome? Who doesn’t want to see that? Kyoka Suigetsu gives so much creative liberty to Kubo and it’s a mind-mender with Shinji’s revealed bankai. So fun. AND Yamamoto pops his ult?? We’re eaaaating 😭

All the while, Ichigo plots his attack on Aizen and elsewhere Byakuya and Kenpachi - what a duo - are dealing with Numero Cero, Yammy. Barn-burner.

Action packed I LOVE it!!! The main battle with Aizen was great and he ended up fooling everybody he was always one step ahead of them. Captain Hitsugaya's face when he realized that he didn't hurt Aizen but his childhood friend Hinamori was so sad and heartbreaking. He became careless when he just charged at Aizen in anger for hurting his friend. The Head Captain has finally joined the battle against Aizen when all the other captains and lieutenants have been taken down. I never realized just how strong and powerful he was until he was able to defeat Wonderweiss in his release form and still trying to take down Aizen in his injured state. The Head Captain is super BADASS!!!! The art of both battle against Aizen were great and I can't wait to see the finale to this whole arc and what would happen to Aizen and if there are any casualties with the captains and lieutenants.

And here we go! After some run-around battles that don't matter we finally get to the main fights. And boy does Tite Kubo deliver. As the Soul Reapers confront Aizen we get to see some creative combination attacks that are a rarity for this series, and each character has spent hundreds of chapters preparing for this one moment. It all comes to a head with what I will argue is the best point in the series, a single panel that cements Aizen as a top-tier shonen villain and the best character in this series. As General-Captain Yamamoto joins the fray we're also treated to some stellar special effects and literal firepower as two of the strongest characters in-universe go all-out against each other. Aizen is laying out his final gambits, Soul Society is using all its secret weapons, and it's pure delight to read.

Not gonna lie this one brought it back up to where I think the series should be. Some really great fight scenes and some awesome shows of power.

Summary:

All of the captains and vizards work together to atttack Aizen and kill him. It is then revealed that they killed hinamori. Aizen takes out everyone, except the captain general and ichego. Captain general almost defeats Aizen until an arrancar wonderweiss attacks the captain general. The captain general defears wonderweiss, but wonderweiss detonates and the captain general goes down. Right when Aizen goes to strike the finishing blow the captain general causes an explosion. While Aizen flees Ichego attacks
