When I first read the blurb summary for this one, I wondered how I could warm up to Casey Tanner. The thing is, she came to me a little too rigid and uptight during her first appearance in the previous novel, And Then He Kissed Me. Casey played a significant part of driving her sister and her boyfriend apart, and well, I was pretty annoyed with her since then. Getting her own story might be a chance for Casey to win my heart.

Alas, it didn’t successfully happen, I’m afraid. See, Casey comes to White Pine with a mission to ‘change’ herself (as well as getting closer to her younger sister, Audrey). Casey wants to be able to let herself go for once in her lifetime: to have a fling, to have great sex, and doesn’t want to care about a relationship. Especially because Casey has one major principle that has killed her previous relationships: she doesn’t want kids. Ever. No kids.

I liked the idea – I mean, not every woman wants to have kids. To be honest, I don’t think I want to have one either. Maybe it will change, but at this moment, kids are the furthest thing I want in life. So I can appreciate Casey not wanting one. However, throughout the book, I thought Casey was still too rigid and unbending about herself. She wants to have fun? Well, I didn’t think she could. Even when there is a chance to date Abe – whom we have been told is a serial monogamist and never wants to have a relationship – Casey still questions things… A LOT. I just couldn’t warm up to her at all!

Although, it wasn’t a total lost cause. Casey shows another side of her when she is dealing with this ten year old kid who has been coming to Robot Lit, a youth literacy nonprofit where Casey works. Those parts, where Casey befriends Carter and tries to find out what is wrong with him at his foster home, well those parts are REALLY GOOD.

As for Abe, Casey’s love interest, unfortunately he was another bland hero in this series. I really haven’t been impressed with the men of White Pine so far. Abe has been avoiding commitment all his life. His nickname at his fire station is “Ninety Eyed”, meaning every relationship he’d ever been in blew up within ninety days. Then he gets a health scare and suddenly he wants to be serious with Casey? Nope. I didn’t buy it.

All in all, I guess I wasn’t really convinced of Casey and Abe’s romance, although their initial meeting and the ending of this book were pretty good. I would still return to this series though. There are two men who might change my initial thought about White Pine men: Abe’s younger brother, Stu, and the bartender, Dave. They seem able to have fun at least.

Casey Tanner pulled up stakes and moved to White Pine on a whim and a prayer to try to mend her relationship with her sister, Audrey, as well as make a change in her well-structured life. She wanted to do something fun, something irresponsible, something she normally wouldn't do. And something she normally wouldn't do is have a friends with lots and lots of benefits. A fling. A fling with a wicked hot fireman. A fling with a wicked hot, known for his player ways fireman named Abe Cameron.

And Abe Cameron is on board with this fling relationship until he realizes he wants more with Casey. She's the only woman who's gotten under his skin and now he just needs to convince her that she wants more too—that she deserves more.

Excuse me for a minute, I need to set my house on fire so Abe can come put it out for me... I kid, I kid. But man, Abe is one hella sexy, hot fireman. He's smart, funny, responsible and ready to settle. Casey is a bit of a mess. Always forced into the responsible role due to circumstances, Casey never had an opportunity to sow her wild oats and now she wants to—with her to-do list with Abe.

These two together make me happy, sad, frustrated and happy again. Love them as couple—they're perfect for each other. Add in the crazy that's the Knots and Bolts crew and this series just keeps getting better and better! ~ Missy, 5 stars

~~~
Oh, this series has completely stolen my heart. Every trip back to White Pine is better than the last, and I find myself falling in love with these characters and this town ever more.
Moving to White Pine was what Casey Tanner needed to shake the rigid, good girl life she'd been living. After owning up to her mistakes, she's now determined to let loose and have some fun. And fun with sexy firefighter, Abe Cameron is just the ticket.
Except confirmed bachelor Abe isn't what she's expecting. There's something about Casey—and Casey's kiss—that has him thinking about changing his ways, and about the idea of forever.
That's not what Casey's signed up for though, and now Abe is faced with the idea that the one may end up as the one that got away....
I basically smiled through this entire book. Even the most simple of sentences, feelings, moments felt like joy to me. And getting to know more about Casey, who's not been the most lovable character in previous books, was wonderful. She could easily have remained somewhat unlikeable but she was the furthest thing from—I sympathized with her, I empathized with her and damn it, I wanted to be her friend. She may feel like an outsider in her circle of new friends, but she's just so human, so real, that I was desperate to see her get her HEA.
And Abe. Holy smokes! Now, I love me some sexy firefighters and this guy might be one of my all-time faves. He was quiet, strong and made my heart pitter-patter. His gruff exterior, his imperfections made him a wonderful book boyfriend, and when he opened his arms up for Casey to curl into, I wanted to take her place. I think his arms might be my favorite place in one of my favorite fictional small towns.
My only complaint, and it's MINOR, is the more formal language during the dirty times. It may be silly, but I couldn't help a little giggle every time I read the word 'penis' (I mentally replaced it with 'cock', ‘cause that's how I roll), which just proves I'm totally immature. But also, totally in love with Kim Amos' words. Ugh, PLEASE tell me there's going to be more of this series. PLEASE! ~ Beth, 4.5 stars
Casey has always lived a controlled life. Now that she is settling in White Pine for a new start she wants to let go of her control. That includes not being so good. Casey comes up with 5 things she wants for Christmas and now it's time to find someone to make them come true.
Abe has a 90day rule with women but after being trapped in a elevator with Casey he starts wondering what is so different about her. Now he wants to get serious but the only problem is that Casey doesn't. Abe is determined to break through her walls at all cost.
I really like the women of White Pine. They are fun, outspoken and always there for one another. I wasn't sure if I liked Casey much because of the things that happened in book 2 but in this story I got to see a different side of her. I was happy to see she wasn't so straight laced as she seemed.
Of course Abe was a totally hot firefighter and player but I loved how when he met Casey he just started to think differently and want different things. After his "health scare" he changed his tune but I loved how he thought of her days after they were trapped together. It showed it all started before the scare.
The one issue I had a problem with was when Casey finally figured out she loved him. After they are together in bed and he gets called into a fire she starts to freak out and it's like boom I love him. Why didn't she figure it out before the danger sets in and him going to get hurt?
Overall I really enjoyed this book and I love how the story played out. At the ending when Abe finally found her Christmas ornaments was the sweetest thing ever! I couldn't believe he made a tree in June just for her. Super sweet!
I am looking forward to reading more of this series because I see some characters I would love to know more about. David the bartender is one and another is Abe's brother Stu. Hopefully we will get more White Pine books in the future.
Every Little Kiss by Kim Amos is a fun, light and sexy read. A woman searching for a good time. A playboy that wants to show her one. Casey came across a running away from her responsibilities. Abe was the good time guy. Always ready to have fun. What I found really amazing is by the end of the story the playboy wanted stability and the usually responsible Casey wanted anything but to be tied down. With identifiable characters Kim Amos created a read that is unforgettable.
My Review:
Although I have a couple of Kim Amos books in my TBR pile, this is the first time I've read one of her stories. I'm not so sure this was the best place to start just because Casey is not an easy character to love.
Casey is very rigid with her control of everything to the detriment of...well, everything. She's not happy and knows that she needs to loosen up. She's even set out with a plan to do that...create a new Casey. But the way she approaches new Casey is very much old Casey. She has a plan...a list...a guideline...and, again a long list of rules about how she can become less rigid. Yeah, you can see how that's going to work out for her. It's not. And that was probably my biggest issue with her. She's not dumb, but the way she approaches fixing her life is. It simply doesn't make sense, and that's why I really had a hard time with loving her. There's no flexibility there.
On the other hand, I love Abe. He has his own set of rules. He's a monogamous womanizer. He can have the same woman in his bed for a set period of time, but once she hits 90 days, she's gone. After he has a brush with his mortality, he realizes that this isn't the way he wants to live the rest of his life. So he sets about changing his approach with Casey.
There were lots of things going for this book...
*I loved the firefighter aspects of it. Those scenes were dynamic and interesting from the camaraderie of the firefighters to them actually fighting fires. I loved all those scenes within the book.
*Casey works at a tutoring place that caters to children that need help. I loved getting the glimpses inside this business and the young 10 yo (Carter, I think was his name) just broke my heart. That story was so well-done. I fell in love with that kid right along with Casey. I loved how she connected with him. Again some great scenes especially as they were ferreting out his problems...great imagery and writing.
*The small town and the Knots and Bolts girls. There were some interesting scenes here too, but in these I felt like I was missing a lot because I haven't read the previous stories. These women were obviously the heroines of those stories.
*Dave & Quinn...um, yeah, I'm ready for their story. I liked them a LOT!
I did have one other issue with this book, and this is completely a personal preference. I like a lot of action on the page, but these characters spent a lot of time in their heads or having sex. I felt like there wasn't a whole lot of meat to the actual romance because of that. It did get better with the climax and final scenes, but overall I wanted more actual dialogue among the characters and less talk within their heads...especially Casey's who got to be a bit repetitive.
So, somewhat of a mixed review. And while this wasn't my favorite book I've ever read, I think a lot of that was simply because I didn't connect with the heroine's character. Just like in real life...you simply don't connect with everyone.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Every Little Kiss is the 4th book in the White Pine series, but it absolutely stands alone. That's not to say that it didn't make me want to read the first three books - because it did. I met Casey at the beginning of this book, but readers of the series to date would recognize her from her sister's Audrey's book And Then He Kissed Me. But it's OK if you haven't met her yet, because you get to know her quickly. From what I understand from the previous book, Casey feels the need to redeem herself in her sister's eyes. Casey has been raising her sister basically alone since their parents died and that has forced her to take a rigid approach to life. She has an almost desperate need to control what's happening in her life in the hopes of controlling the outcome. As we all know, we can try as much as we can but sometimes things just happen. It's really fun to watch as Casey even tries to control her "breaking out of her shell" with a list. The list. The infamous list. The list that becomes the lynch pin in her budding relationship with Abe.
Enter Abe. I love Abe. He's almost like a schizophrenic personality, switching from all gruff and commanding, to gentle and sweet like the flip of a switch. We come to find that he chooses to live life "skin deep", never digging down into some of the relationships that could possibly be good. I think his personality is just so different than the rest of his family that his struggles are because he's trying to find a way to fit in. But, gosh, I love him. He's incredibly sensitive to Casey when he first meets her (until he isn't) and his commitment to the literacy center is wonderful. He's got some good relationships with the guys and gals he works with at the fire station, and despite himself, even with his family.
The variety of characters in this book is wonderful. There is a ladies group that Casey has joined with her sister, because she knows that's what you do. But she struggles to fit in and I could so identify with her in that. But they embrace her anyway. And then there are the other firemen. I look forward to Quinn's story coming up - HER story looks to be interesting. The town setting provides a wonderful winter backdrop for the story and Casey's love of Christmas, another thing I can relate to.
Overall, a wonderful holiday read in a lovely small town in Minnesota.
“All I want for Christmas…
Five ways I want my tree lit this holiday.
I want to start out being kissed under the mistletoe, but I want to finish with sex in bed.
I want to be naughty, not nice, between the sheets.
I want 12 orgasms from sex— one for each of the 12 days of Christmas.
I want my stocking stuffed, repeatedly, on Christmas Day.
I want toys wrapped with bows—that are all for adults.”
In the book Every Little Kiss by Kim Amos, Casey Tanner is strong minded, Independent woman who shoulders everything by herself. But almost losing her younger sister, because of her stubbornness she decided to change. Joining a group called Knots & Bolts that her sister is also a part of, she set her sight on her goal of being less uptight. What she didn’t expect was five energetic women; including her sister, wanting to know about her sex life. Not like there was much to tell anyway, since it’s been a very long time. But Casey has a list, five things to be exact, that she wants to lead up until Christmas. And she knows just who she wants to complete her list with, Abe Cameron.
“His teeth bit her skin, his hand crashed against her. “I will make you come,” he said, his lips right up against her ear, his rock-hard shaft grinding against her bare thigh. “I’ll make you come so hard you forget where you are. And you won’t know what to do with it on your list.”
Abe know what he wants, and he never had a problem getting what he wanted. But what Casey wants from him is something he doesn’t want. Casey wants a no string attach relationship, if you even call it that. Abe who is known as Nighty-Eyed; which means none of his relationships last longer than nighty days, wanted more than that. He wanted to be with her for more than nighty days, and just when he thinks he found the one, she doesn’t want anything more than physical attraction. Will Abe accept the list that Casey presented to him, or will he demand more or nothing at all?
This book is amusing, when you first meet Abe and the way he treated Casey you think “What a jerk.”. But going into the next few pages you realize that there’s more to him. I felt like this story was a little bit too fast, and that I would love to see more in depth of the two characters. I felt like once Casey presented the list to him, everything speeds up to an ending that leaves you longing for more.
So...the book I just read right before this one has the same type of scenario that's in this book, and I have decided that I don't like that scenario. The scenario is when the main characters, or just one of the main characters decides that sex without any commitment is a good idea, and everyone will be totally happy with the situation, but of course they aren't because guess what! emotions are part of sex, so then problems arise. Also, why does every guy need to sleep with tons of women! Can't we just have a hot guy that doesn't need to have sex with a whole bunch of women; I guess not because it's in every dang book I read! Okay enough ranting. So, I tried to look past not enjoying the problem maker in this story, and I actually did enjoy the characters, so I still went with a 4 rating. I haven't read the previous books, which I've decided I like because this book is about Casey, and it seems that she wasn't very likable in the previous books, so it was good to not have preconceived notions about her, and I liked her. I do plan to read the previous books because I like the storylines for the previous 2 books, and I did mostly like Kim Amos' writing. I loved the way the characters meet in this book, I'm always down for hot firemen, and I did think they had some great chemistry, and the romance scenes had some spice. I did think it odd that Abe made such a turn around, and I did get frustrated with Casey because I feel like she needs more conviction. I liked Casey and her sister's relationship, and I like the other ladies in Casey's circle of friends; they have a fun dynamic, and add some humor to the story. I look forward to the previous books, and the future books, and hopefully we won't have anymore books with the sex with no strings storyline.
Got it as a First Reads give away. Story was OK - the mild fascination with slightly kinky sex was a little strange. Oddly, what really bothered me was the discrepancy between the author's description of the characters and the picture on the cover.
Interesting at first. I could sympathize with the claustrophobia. The ending seemed ridiculous to me that she would be a foster parent but deny her love a child.
And Casey’s refusal to settle down only makes Abe more determined than ever to win her heart. Now the one woman who can’t be caught is the only one Abe can’t live without.
Review:
Every Little Kiss is the third book in the A White Pine Novel series. We once again meet up with Casey Tanner (sister to Audrey – from book 2 in the series ‘And Then He Kissed Me’) but this time it is Casey’s story we embark upon. Casey has just returned to White Pine, with a new job as accountant for Robot Lit in an effort to rebuild her relationship with her younger sister Audrey. And within moments of starting the book…a fire alarm goes off at Robot Lit and who does Casey meet but the handsome and buff firefighter Abe. Now Casey is definitely what I would call a ‘Nervous Nellie’ in elevators. As Casey starts to slowly freak out, Abe comes to the rescue:
Strong fingers wrapped around her forearm. She looked down, but couldn’t see even an outline of a hand. “Easy there,” came the lieutenant’s deep voice. “It’s okay.” His unrelenting grip should have offended her. What right did he have to touch her? But instead, it grounded her reeling mind. Fragments of logic pierced through, I’m in an elevator. This man is a firefighter. Still, her breath was ragged. She couldn’t get enough air. The space pressed against her. She was aware she might be panting. “Casey, listen to me.” The lieutenant had stepped closer. She could feel him acutely. “I want you to close your eyes and count to ten.”
I love how Abe took control (okay…it is his job but still). At that moment, I wanted to meet Abe! My hero J. I thought the symbolism of Abe pushing himself VERY hard when he was running on the trail enticing and really wanted to continue reading to find out what was the issue and why he thought as he did:
His job should have made him grateful for every day he was alive and healthy. Oddly, it had done the opposite. It had numbed him, in a way, to his life. It could all get taken away so easily, so why get invested? It was part of why he kept himself cordoned off from any relationship that got too deep or too heavy.
The inner struggle Casey was in (trying to be more spontaneous and carefree as opposed to her nature of structured and planned in all that she does) was moving and yet…funny. Her ‘list’ was short, spelling out the specifics for her next encounter of the romantic kind. This list was vetted through her recipe exchange club and in Casey’s mind should be all complete. But when the time arises, it certainly seemed that important items were missing. Abe tried to stick to the list but kept bringing up points, which Casey had not considered. It was funny with a capital “F” let me tell you. I was laughing so hard I thought I would cry.
I definitely found the friendship and bond between the gals of the recipe exchange club very powerful and heart-warming. Every gal should have a group of buds who support each other and know just when to push you to go after what (or should I say whom) you are pining after.
The way that both Casey and Abe developed and grew during the story was engaging and gave the romantic in me warm fuzzy feelings.
If you like romance with a sense of humour, then you will surely enjoy this third book in the White Pine series. Thank you Kim Amos.
So I definitely need more Kim Amos romances in my life because I loved this book. I devoured it in one sitting because it was simply too amazing to put down. Abe and Casey definitely had me turning the pages.
Here’s what’s going on. Casey moved to White Pine to start over. She’s not looking to settle down, she just wants to have a little bit of fun. So when she’s stuck in an elevator with a sexy firefighter, she knows he would be the perfect man to help her with her naughty to-do list.
Abe has no problems hooking up with a woman as long as their relationship ends in ninety days although one kiss from Casey has him questioning his rule about not settling down. He wants her in his bed, in his heart, and in his life, yet Casey only wants him to help her tick off her list. He’s determined to win her over but will his need to settle down drive her away?
Casey and Abe were so great together. They were a couple that I really wanted to see succeed and find their happy. And they had great banter.
Casey was really an easy heroine to like. She’s realistically flawed, she’s made mistakes, and she doesn’t really feel as though she fits in anywhere. After the death of her parents, she had a lot of responsibility thrown at her and because of this, she doesn’t feel like she’s ready to settle down. She wants to be able to walk on the wild side for a while and, thanks to the ladies of the recipe exchange, she now has a naughty to-do list and she plans on ticking off every item with Abe.
Abe was very refreshing. He’s getting ready to turn forty, and I liked that he was an older hero. Everyone knows him as this playboy and he’s content with that since his relationships have a ninety day limit. Although a health scare has him questioning his life and he realizes he want to settle down with Casey. He doesn’t mind helping her with her list, but he wants more.
Abe and Casey were so good together, even if she was a bit reluctant to admit it. They had instant chemistry and were drawn to each other but she wasn’t ready to settle down. They had a bit of work to do so I really enjoyed that this wasn’t one of those instant love romances.
There’s a dash of mystery thrown in with someone setting fires around town and I really enjoyed seeing how this not only brought Abe and Casey closer, but it allowed Casey to reflect on what she wanted out of life.
Okay, so there is a naughty to-do list and the heroine does want her stocking stuffed repeatedly on Christmas day, but this one—while handcuffs were indeed involved—wasn’t over-the-top naughty. You wouldn’t be crossed off of Santa’s nice list for reading this one, so if you’re worried about this being more than a mainstream romance it’s not. Think of it as vanilla with just a dash of spice.
Overall, this was truly a feel good Christmas romance. The characters are quirky yet charming and White Pine is one of those towns, even though it’s fictional, you want to pack up and visit.
Yep, this one should be one everyone’s Christmas romances to-read list.
What happens when the good girl out to have some fun gets tangled up with the fun-loving bad boy who is looking to settle down? A little bit of drama, some fireworks and a whole lot of sexy times!
Casey Tanner has been a good girl all her life, living by the rules and her lists. She took on the responsibility for her younger sister when they lost their parents at a very young age and now that she's settled down, Casey has plans to cut loose and enjoy her independence, starting with a very naughty Christmas list and sexy firefighter Abe Cameron is just the man to give her what she needs.
Abe Cameron is a serial monogamist who has never had a problem getting any woman he wants and he enjoys his reputation as a good-time guy, with the nickname to go along with it. However a recent health scare has him rethinking his devotion to his bachelorhood and Casey Tanner is just the woman he wants more with. Unfortunately for Abe, while Casey is willing to tear up the sheets with him, she's very clear on her lack of interest in a more permanent relationship and he's got his work cut for him convincing her that more with him is exactly what she needs.
I have a couple of books from this series but never got round to reading them, but I have to say that I really enjoyed Casey and Abe. I found myself smiling and chuckling through most of the book at the banter between them, the cute moments and even Casey's interactions with the other ladies.
Casey was easy to love and her struggle to let go and fit in was easy to relate to. She has always thrived on order and letting go of the self-imposed restrictions was not so easy for her, but I liked that she made the effort. I feel like she was punishing herself for her past mistakes by keeping to the fringes of the group, but I was glad that the ladies welcomed her into the group.
Abe was quite the hunky fireman. I loved that he brought out the playful side of Casey and helped her relax a bit. One of my favorite things about this book was the age of the characters, which gave them a bit of maturity, in my opinion that is!
EVERY LITTLE KISS was a fun and entertaining read even though it touched upon some hot button issues. I liked that the story did not go the predictable route of having Casey change her mind about her decision to not have kids. I enjoyed the easy and enjoyable writing style of Ms. Amos and will definitely read more from her.
Eventually even perpetual players will meet their match. When Abe met Casey he hadn’t pegged her for a player herself. And in reality she wasn’t, but she was determined to become one. Casey was interested in remaking her life. To become less rigid, more outgoing and to have some good old fashioned fun in her life. It might have worked out better for her if she’d left the rules out of her newly formed life. But some habits are impossible to break.
Casey would be perfectly happy having a designated timeframe kind of fling with Abe. Trouble is, this man is tired of the flings in his life. He’s ready to settle down with Casey and work on a forever together. Casey is so not onboard with that plan. Now a formerly dedicated player has to work his butt off convincing the one woman who could rock his world permanently that she’s willing to risk her newly desired freedom for a happy forever kind of love.
Every Little Kiss is a charming, slightly steamy at times, enjoyable story. I really loved Abe. He is the kind of man just about any woman would say “Yes, please.” to just about anything he wanted. It was entertaining to watch him change his player ways. And if I felt a little badly for him along the way that’s probably natural. When a player changes his tune lots of uncomfortable emotions are going to rise to the surface.
Casey…oh, Casey. I had a bit more trouble hoping for a happy ever after for her. She is the type of character that I simply want to grab by the shoulders and give her a good shake and tell her to just wake up and stop being an idiot. Eventually she will see what a wonderful man Abe is and the sparks that these two create are a delicious slow burn. I warmed up to Casey eventually – but I honestly cannot say that she’s my favorite character in this series. I believe that for me Casey is a perfect example of a character from a previous book that I didn’t like then and I’m not able to see her redeeming qualities now. Sometimes I just cannot get past first impressions – I’m sorry, I’m human.
Yet Abe and Casey together work. The attraction is there strong and sure throughout the story. It’s more a matter of getting someone to see themselves differently – for both Abe and Casey.
If you enjoy an engaging love story between two stubborn people, and if you simply love a good romance then Every Little Kiss is perfect for you.
Every Little Kiss is the third delightful installment in Kim Amos's marvelous White Pine series. In this outing, Casey Turner has a difficult time keeping her decision to live a more fun, carefree life after she meets meets firefighter Abe Cameron.
Casey returned to White Pine to be closer to her sister Audrey and she is determined to make a fresh start for herself. She traded in a lucrative accounting job for a new career working for Robot Lit, a literacy non-profit for youths. She would also like to have a fling and she, along with her friends, have come up with a list of five things she wants for Christmas. Now Casey just needs to the right man to help check these things off her list....
Abe has a hard and fast ninety day rule when it comes to relationships. But a health scare has him rethinking his love 'em and leave 'em approach to dating. He is instantly attracted to Casey and he is definitely interested in helping her check those items off her list, but will he convince her to give him and a relationship a chance?
The romance between Abe and Casey is slow growing and begins as friendship. Of course, bubbling under the surface of their interactions is a red hot attraction but Casey has to overcome a few fears before discussing her list with him. Abe is just as controlling as she is and while he would be happy to fulfill her fantasies for her, he won't settle for less than a real relationship with her. When it looks like he has blown his chance with her, Abe decides to take some much needed advice from his brother to just go with the flow. He and Casey agree to take a more relaxed approach to their relationship, but will a dangerous situation ruin their chance at happiness?
Every Little Kiss by Kim Amos is a fast paced and engaging addition to the White Pine series. Abe and Casey are multi dimensional characters with realistic flaws and true to life issues to overcome. Their romance is a wonderful blend of sweet friendship and scorching hot sex scenes. With its small town atmosphere, charming cast of characters and close-knit friendships, this latest stop in White Pines is sure to be a hit with old and new fans of the series.
Casey Tanner has decided to make some changes to her life, and the first big change is moving to White Pine to be closer to her sister, and also leave behind the reminents of a failed relationship and her carefully planned life. She is tired of living her life planned down to the letter, she wants to be free and take a less serious approach to things, simply put she just wants to have a little fun! And part of her new fun lifestyle is to have herself a "no strings attached" kind of relationship for the first time in her life. Now she just needs to find the right guy for the job...
Abe Cameron has earned himself quite the reputation for being a player, and has always had a long list of ladies waiting in the wings for their opportunity to help keep his bed warm for the night. But this eternal bachelor is starting to think that the one night thing is getting old, and maybe he's finally ready for something more. He's turning forty and the time on his biological clock is dwindling down, and has hI'm thinking his bachelor days are numbered. After a chance meeting with the newest resident of White Pine he thinks that he's finally found the perfect woman for him, only problem is that she is not forever kind of girl, and so he's left wondering if he can convince her otherwise or if he should cut his losses and just walk away...
This was my second visit to this series, and I have to say that this visit was even better than the first, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent reading this story. Abe and Casey's story pulled me in almost immediately and had me burning right through the pages, it was such a addictive read! The story line was beautifully written and easy to connect with, and the character development was exceptional. Ms. Amos has created quite the literary treat for readers with this one, I highly recommend you add this series to your reading list, it is sure to warm your heart and leave you with a smile!
As I first read the synopsis for this title I was expecting a giddy yet fun romance novel that would reflect seasonal holiday, but sadly this novel overall just did not work for me. I think the real reason behind my disappointment was that I felt like the author was trying immensely hard to convince me that the hero was going to deliver some rare and slightly exotic sensual feels to the heroine rather than simply allowing the chemistry to unfold.
Lately in romance novels (this book is not an exception) I feel like authors are trying too hard to win the reader over with crowding our minds with the fact that heroes are capable of having any woman that they may desire. I find this trait highly non-relatable considering the fact that this does not involve both the men and the women in the modern world. It certainly does not appeal to me. So this concept alone completely overshadowed what I did enjoy about this book.
The positives were there, although hidden to the point that I had to find such things, and one of the pluses of this book was that this was a second chance novel. Casey, the heroine was looking to start over within her life. She was ready for excitement and a fresh start. I enjoy these romance-themed novels and I felt these positives added a fresh vibe to an otherwise standard romance.
Another plus I had with this novel was the concept of the chemistry between both Casey and Abe, the hero. The chemistry wasn't too cheesy in the beginning as it was only heated.
I received this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. This is the first book that I have read in both the White Pines series as well as by this author Kim Amos. After the cover grabbed my attention I dove right into the book not sure what I would find. I found that she did a great job of developing the main characters as well as setting the scene. As a reader I found that in addition to having the developed characters she did a great job of setting the scene as well. She really made you feel like you grew up alongside Casey Tanner and that you were going through the same difficulties that she was going through in life.
Another aspect of the story that Kim threw in there was the story of Carter who was one of the Robot Lit students. It was something totally different then the main story but it allowed the material to be a little more deep than just a contemporary romance that is out there. In addition, it added a deeper emotional aspect to the characters that you might have not seen if it was just a contemporary romance.
If there was an aspect that I would change about the story after completing it would be to see their relationship develop a little more between Casey and Abe. At times in the beginning as a reader you felt like she rushed the relationship. However, after you get half way through the story you are able to see their connecton more and their relationship grow.
I think this was a great first book to read in the White Pines series and I am definitely interested in reading more by the author. I am interested to see where she goes with some of the supporting character roles.
I don’t remember ever reading a Contemporary Romance with the main character being a fireman. I know they’re out there, and after reading the third book in Kim Amos, White Pine series, I’m going to have to remedy that.
The basic gist is that Casey hasn’t had a lot of lovers, and her previous one was a total ass. She wants to broaden her horizons sexually, and after meeting Abe during a fire call at her workplace, she eventually decides she’ll do it with him. She does need a bit of encouragement from her sister and the group of ladies that she gets together to eat and share recipes with.
Abe feels an immediate attraction to Casey, so when she propositions him, he’s all for it. He’s known for being a player, so the moves he uses on Casey have been perfected, and make for some great steamy scenes!
But then feelings and emotions start creeping in. They both don’t want to lose what they have, but they also want more. Unfortunately neither one communicates this very well, so there are some drawn out spots when I wanted to throttle one, and sometimes both, of the characters.
Amos does a great job developing the characters, and the town of White Pine. Her secondary characters really help to add depth and humor to the novel. I’ll need to find time to read the previous novels in this series, especially And Then He Kissed Me, since Casey mentions bits of her relationship with her sister, Audrey, and how she tried to keep Audrey and the love of her life apart. Sister drama, is there any more intense?!?
Small town atmosphere and romance are foremost in the latest installment in the White Pine novel series by author Kim Amos.
EVERY LITTLE KISS pairs a strong-willed practical thinking heroine with a good-hearted, fun-loving hero. While both seemingly want the same thing out of life – steamy sex with no lifelong commitments – they soon realize there is more to want.
Casey Tanner has made some bad choices that almost cost her the relationship with her sister. Now on the road to making amends with her, Casey wants only to have fun with no strings attached. The trouble is, Casey doesn’t really know how to let loose.
Abe Cameron has a 90 day rule about the women he dates. They only last 90 days and then it’s time to move on to the next A dedicated bachelor, Abe doesn’t want any lifelong commitments. He’s too busy fighting fires and loving women.
When Casey and Abe cross paths, sparks fly and the two find life never turns out the way you plan.
This is a feel-good romance with touches of steam and sizzle. The characters are well-developed with flaws and quirks readers can relate to.
The author weaves a tale of romance you won’t be able to put down. Blending the small town atmosphere with the charming characters leads to a tantalizing tale.
FTC Full Disclosure – A copy of this book was sent to me by the publisher in hopes I would review it. However, receiving the complimentary copy did not influence my review. The thoughts are completely my own and given honestly and freely.
4.5 stars. This was the best in the trilogy! I thought that Casey was the most interesting heroine of the three White Pine romances, with the most interesting path to growth and change. Abe, and the family and friends surrounding him who both supported and challenged him, was an excellent counterpoint to Casey.
Once again, I would have loved more of the Knots and Bolts crew. When the background set of characters is this interesting, they deserve more time (IMHO). And I must say that I absolutely detest that in each of these three books, the hero picks up the heroine. Children get picked up because they are small and helpless. Brides get carried over thresholds, and the reason varies from "protecting her from evil spirits" to making sure she isn't so klutzy that she trips to dragging her in against her will. Firefighters carry out people who can't walk out of a fire themselves. Being picked up and carried, especially without being asked, is a real caveman kind of move, and ticks me off COMPLETELY. It doesn't belong in modern romances about women who are making independent decisions about their lives.
Now, having said that (and spending too many words to do so! LOL), if that's the only thing I didn't like about this book and my biggest complaint about the trilogy, then I gotta say... go read it!
First read - 15 to 20 July, 2016
4 stars
Overall, I enjoyed this however there were a few issues I had that made this a 4 star rather than a 5 star read for me. I felt like a lot of this book was made up of Casey's and Abe's introspection rather than action on the page, so it slowed the pacing for me. I also find "penis" used consistently throughout sex scenes jarring, and I found myself skimming over these scenes. This was an issue I had with the first book, too, so I can see that it's the author's style but it doesn't work for me. In saying that, skimming or skipping the sex scenes didn't spoil anything for me overall. Also, I don't know if this series is going to be continued but I felt a bit disappointed that there was no resolution for Dave and Quinn seeing as it came up quite frequently throughout the book.
Second read - 10 to 11 November, 2021
DNF
This did not hold up for me on a second read for much the same reasons as above. I wasn't convinced by the relationship development, the characters, and the overall plot wasn't engaging. DNF and unhauled.
A sweet romance with lots of laugh out loud moments, plenty of sass, and some hot, getting to know you, sex!
Casey Tanner recently moved to White Pine. She wanted to be closer to her sister, and she wanted to turn over a new leaf and stop being such a good girl, by the book, organized mess of a person.
Abe Cameron is a firefighter who has a big reputation for his playboy ways. He's down to earth and takes care of everyone he knows, but what a flirt!
Casey meets Abe and there's an instant connection. When they start to flirt on their second run-in, it's even more fun than the first encounter. Abe decides to ask her out ... but little does he know she's making up a list of every hot thing she wants done to her by Christmas. Abe is willing to play her game, but before they know it, they both are feeling more for each other than they agreed on.
Will Casey decide to run, or will she agree that commitment doesn't have to be a bad thing?
I got this book thru Goodreads First Reads offers. It is the third book in a series and the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed it. It's a small town romance story and has some different story points which is always enjoyable. Casey is 34 and has recently moved to small town White Pine Minnesota and is trying to change her life to have more fun and not being so controlling. She takes her next steps in her plan after meeting Firefighter Abe. But she wants a fling, not to get involved in a relationship. Abe seems the perfect guy for that since he only has short term relationships. It was fun, but also poignant to follow their relationship.
Pet Peeve: the guy on the cover doesn't meet the description of Abe at all! Abe is described as 6'4" (almost a foot taller than Casey), very muscled (he is a firefighter) and blond and almost 40 years old. The couple on the cover look much younger, possibly YA - that would likely make me bypass this book, but I'm glad I didn't.
Sweet and spicy, quick read, that I enjoyed for what it was.
Things are a bit convenient in it, of course, and lacking in significant conflict or any major obstacles for the couple, but still very entertaining and engaging. The (rather predictable) climactic "crisis" could have gone either way, but ends up wrapping up the romance pretty quickly.
I did enjoy seeing a hero over the age of 35, though, as those are seemingly rare these days and he was a good'un! (Though I felt his build up as the town's Lothario never really bore fruit. He was good, but nothing that made my eyebrows raise. Too bad.)
Point of interest: Heroine with a desire to remain child-free. (This issue was not resolved well, in my opinion, but the hero's focus was not on changing her mind in this area, which was refreshing.)
ETA: Cover doesn't accurately represent the characters in the book. This is not the author's fault, and did not influence the rating, but potential readers may wish to know this.
Abe is confident and cocky, “I will make you come,” he said , his lips right up against her ear, his rock-hard shaft grinding against her bare thigh. “I’ll make you come so hard you forget where you are. And you won’t know what to do with it on your list.” Abe can be an animal at times, "Abe gave her a** a quick, hard smack. “I’d say let’s find out,” he growled." Abe has a way with words, “we’ll have to kick them out before too long, though,” he said slyly, “so you can get— what was it?— your stocking stuffed repeatedly on Christmas Day.” I really enjoyed this book I love me a sexy, fireman.
Received a copy of the title in exchange for an honest review.
This series just gets cuter and cuter -- and it all started with the titling. I absolutely loved Casey and Abe; I loved that Casey was looking for something quick and fun, and Abe, the guy who doesn't look at a girl past tonight, starts to want something more, and he does it rather quickly. I truly love when it's the guy who starts to fight for more, when the girl wants his normal brand of 'relationship'. Kim Amos is definitely a go-to author for me, and any 'Kiss' book I come across, I have a feeling I'll love!
I have to admit, I love a good read about a sexy fireman. And add a girl who is a control freak with a list who’s trying to let loose….fun, romance and sizzle! This was my first trip to White Pine but I will be making return trips. The characters were fun and crazy, just the people I would like to get to know better. I really enjoyed the chemistry between all the characters, it made for a very fun read. I’m looking forward to the other books in this series.
I received this book through Goodreads Giveaways.
Every Little Kiss by Kim Amos is a fun, hunky, sexy and heartwarming story. Casey just moved to White Pines for a fresh start finds herself stuck in a elevator with hunky firefighter Abe. Sparks are there that brings Casey wondering if Abe can fulfill her Christmas naughty list. Find out for yourself as you read their fun and sexy story. This is the fourth book in the White Pine series and now need to read the first of the series. Loved this story.
