So when the newest Bluewing heir decides to wrack up the taxes on her hometown, Gemma isn't about to stand for it. Good but not great

Overall this book is interesting but It took a long time. The first two or three chapters worked for me-- But then got pretty boring until the 11th or 12th chapter. But I do enjoy this author so I wanted to read the whole book. What I never understood is that Gemma came to talk to the Dragon because of the excessive bounty fees in the town. (but you never hear anything more about what happened about it). Basically she became the captive until eventually they get married. I was disappointed with the Dragon as he seems to be the same as all other Dragon stories I read. Nothing different. But then of course it got a little more interesting when she was kidnapped to a different Dragon. You may love this story though. I didn't like The thought of a captive lady, with time, Will depend and identify with the Dragon The kidnapper. ??? But I guess in the end you got a true mate.

Alpha Dragons who find their mates plus a little conflict between alphas along the way. What trouble do these hot and sexy men find themselves in?

A quick read but an enjoyable one.

If you like shifter tales you will like this one.

There were dragons. I love dragons. They're my favorite mythical shifter. But they weren't enough to save this train wreck. Nope. For one (and most importantly for me) I went all over ragey at the just-force-her-and-she'll-like-it-in-the-end plotline. I hate that in a book. I hate it on the whole, but also in the smaller scenes where a female character is justifiably angry and the man grabs her and forces an unwanted kiss on her and she then just melts and forgets she's angry, because she wants him so bad. RAGE people, RAGE!

On the smaller scale the world isn't defined. The characters aren't developed and are both unpleasant. The plot is shallow, never even expanding far enough to allow minor things like family coming to the wedding, because that would require introducing new characters. The villain is evil just because he is. The file seems to have a lot of filler, as the story ends at 60%. It's repetitive and needs more editing. I'm fairly sure no one says, 'he cummed' to explain the culmination of a sex act.

I did appreciate the dragon's obsession with his hoard and how that played into what he perceived as courting and there was some humor.

This dragon shifter romance has all the traditional beliefs about what dragons are like, like the huge size, fire, magical powers, and accepting a woman as an offering from the town that is allied with him. In these modern time, though, women aren't really looking to be chosen without any choice on their part. It helps that the dragon shifter is hot, big and strong in his human form, too.
After the lady is chosen, purely luck that she met the dragon at the time when he was required by tradition to take a bride, they get to know each other for a couple weeks before the wedding. The attraction is strong on both sides and everything is going pretty well--when an evil dragon tries to mess everything up by taking the lady. There are dragon battles and hot sex. A great story.

3.5 Billionaire Dragon Bride wasn't to bad. Held my interest. Little skimming here and there but not much. Definitely insta lust with some angst.
you end about at the 56% mark... you get the first chapter of the next book. Which after reading it sounded pretty good... but then you get to read the Find Her Bear. And I couldn't get past the first couple of chapter in the Bear Book. To much inner monologue and it was all about "lusting".. Boring.
Unfortunately, that kept me from going back to Dragons Bride book 2. Maybe I'll pick book 2 up another time.

Oh yes, this is my fantasy

Cocky dragon shifter is brought to his knees by a local woman. She was perfect for him, not intimidated, stood up for herself, and stood up for her town. And eventually she saw the kind man beneath the facade. Unfortunately, someone wants to keep them apart. And they will do evil things to get what they want. This was a great storyline. And I have to admit, I loved the descriptions of all the jewels.

Awful, just awful

Be forewarned, only 61% of this book is the story you are actually purchasing, and not a bit of it will be worth it. The author has issues with double negatives, homophones, basic grammar and spelling. The protaginists are poorly characterized and the plot is weak. This is the kind of stuff self publishing has brought the world. What a shame.

this has been an enjoyable read with plenty of sassy humour from Gemma who returned home to help her parents after not finding what she was looking for elsewhere. She goes to speak to the head of the Bluewing dragons Devon, but she gets more than what she bargained for with him. this has humour, danger, sexiness and true determination on both parts who want to get what they desire

I really liked the beginning. Then it became boring while the heroine displayed her temper. I found it hard to sympathize with her and was just irritated instead. The hero is a typical dragon.

MY THOUGHTS

It's nice for a change to step into a romance that has that magic touch to it. You'll find yourself getting a little flushed and your heart's rate will increase. This is the first book in the series. Our main character, Devon, who is one heck of a hunk, a woman magnet for sure, is a Bluewing dragons shifter. Poor Devon gets himself in a jam. He is Head of Council and according to the Council he has a mere three weeks to find a blushing bride. While Devon is seeking a bride, a beautiful goldsmith asks Devon to change his bounty rule for Gold Valley. They author gives you this dragon shifter who would put most men to shame and he needs a bride. What if? Oh what if? The author gives you characters that aren't your usual characters. They are enchanting and exciting. The author puts the characters personalities and the surrounding sceneries in such detail that it's a magical picture you see before you. There are times when there are life and death situations, your heart will stop for a second and the romance or lust makes the world stop, makes your heart pound and make your brow sweat. Shape shifter's lives abilities are endless and oh, the excitement! What is really nice is the author gives you a moment to smile at the end and you won't want to wait for Book Two. You have to have more. I'm not normally a shape shifter book reader but this one got me hooked. How could you not want to read this book after about the first 5 pages? Check it out and find out for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and Book Funnel and voluntarily decided to review it.

Bowing to the Inevitable

Not your average dragon shifter story. This book was definitely different than normal. It is contemporary but steeped in old traditions.

Devon is the head of the dragons but loves that freedom he has in his human skin. Gemma leave the world in which she grew up in seeking something that was missing from her life.

How can two people who resent traditions that formed their families overcome the obstacles placed in their lives? Betrayal and stubbornness may alter their lives in ways they least to expect it.

This book was a nice change of pace.

Pretty good, but no surprises

I liked this book, especially the female character! It's a good story, if a bit formulaic, and my biggest disappointment is the number of typos. Come on, editors! If your proofreader claims they did this one, fire them. There was something missing in the ending that, IMO, the author should have had him do. If you read this I'm positive you'll know what I'm talking about. Hopefully the series improves in proofing. Not sure if I'll find out.

Good read

Emma certainly made me snicker with her attitude towards Devon. Their interactions were certainly interesting, how to kindle a dragons ire. And I don't know why but I didn't like Jolly from the start, and Remington certainly gave himself away as a Kimball from the first words he uttered.

As a short story it was very well written. Though it was meant as a short story it makes me want to know more about all the characters. I will definitely be looking for the rest of the collection.

Both are quick reads - could be longer

Both books are good if you're just looking for quick stories to get those reading muscles moving.
*I think they could both develop into longer books, if the author ever decides to revisit.
I will say that I may return to read more in their respective series -- more so the werebears ❤️ (very good send-off for book 2)

An arrogant dragon, old laws, evil opponent, betrayal and one feisty chick. The plot has drama, intrigue and humor in it. It does drag just a little but overall enjoyable.

Gemma visits the home of dragon Chief Devon, to complain about the raise in the tithe due from the villagers. Devon sees Gemma as a means to an end to prevent a rival Clan member becoming Chief. They both get more than they bargained for.

A lovely little tale, nothing too heavy, too complicated. A perfect...wait for it...wait for it...HANG OVER CURE if ever there was one!!

Gemma knows she owes the village wealth to the goldsmiths who work for the Bluewing dragons, but hiking the tithe up 30% is just a bit too much. So off she goes to confront Devon, and lands up betrothed to the darn man. Her parents are overjoyed. She, not so much! I liked Gemma, she stood up to Devon. She has a voice and is not afraid to use it! I loved how she wound him up, having him search for her all over the castle to stave off her boredom!

I do like these dragons! They have hoards of gold, right there in the depths of their castle! Devon often visits his hoard, just to find the peace and calm he needs. Gemma tries his patience, as the man, but the dragon knows. The dragon knows she is The One, his mate. He just needs to make her see it!

It didn't seem the 250 pages billed on Amazon. It seemed a lot shorter. Not a bad thing, just something I noted.

Some sexy bits, some dangerous bits, some funny bits and some emotional bits. All in all, a good read, a nice read, just not a brilliant one.

4 stars

Roses are red and Dragons are BLUE! Oh what to do when you have three weeks to fall in love, or not with a hot dragon man! Billionaire Dragon's Bride is a magical fantasy book taking place in modern times. Devon is the ruling family of the Bluewing dragons. They had been the head council for many generations. The Redblades are ruled by a man named Remington. The Redblades have a long history of hate for the Bluewings. The Redblades want to seek the high position of head council. Remington challenges the elders to adhere to the old world of taking a mate at the next Gold Moon. Devon has never been for settling down. Upon this decree Devon has three weeks to find a mate. Gemma is a Master Jewelry maker. She comes from a long line of craftsmen. Her town is run and ruled by the Bluewings. Gold Valley is where Gemma is from. Her town is protected by the Bluewings, in exchange for their contract for the gold hoard. Gemma goes to Devon to maybe negotiate the terms of the exchange of gold that is request. Little does she know what she is getting herself into? Devon is mesmerized by her presence. Gemma has capturing his desires with her wit, backtalk and curvaceous body. Anya Nowlan captures your heart with an adventure in love, betrayal, and wild sexual abandonment. I hope to see more with these magical dragon men.

I love dragon shifter romances. I can't seem to ever get enough of them. Billionaire Dragon's Bride was a bit unique in that the whole town knew about their dragon protectors. And the dragons expected a yearly payment. This was my first book by Anya Nowlan and I enjoyed how she wrote in the traditions the dragons believed giving them a heritage and rules to live by.

Devon and Gemma had a chemistry from the very first moment they meet and only grows stronger with every time she rebels. Being told she was going to marry him and not having a choice in the matter didn't sit well with strong independent Gemma. Her strength is his aphrodisiac and the more he sees her the more he wants her. Gemma works hard to drive him crazy, but she is doing a great job of that without even realizing it when she refuses to wear his horde. Devon and Gemma can also set pages on fire when their passions get out of control.

This book is my new favorite paranormal book this month. I fell in love with everything about it. Most especially the characters but also the story. I am officially hooked on the series and am so intrigued with the other dragons I met I am hoping they all have their own books so I can have even more. I highly recommend this book to any who love not only paranormal romance but hot dragon paranormal romance.

Billionaire Dragon's Bride is an enchanting magical romance that will have your heart pounding with excitement.

This story features Devon, a Bluewing dragon shifter who is drop dead gorgeous, has women flocking to him like magnets, and his pompous powerful attitude would have the HULK bowing his head to him. Devon finds himself in a pickle. To keep his status as Head of Council he has to find a bride in three weeks time.
Gemma Teeley a goldsmith, is an audacious, curvy, beauty, who goes to Devon's mansion to ask him to lower his bounty rule for the people in Gold Valley.

The story is filled with amazing impressive and engaging characters, the banter between Gemma and Devon is fantastic, vivid scene descriptions fabulous, life threatening incidents, heart wrenching moments, steamy earth-shattering heart-throbbing romance, and a wondrous ending that leaves you smiling and wanting more.

Incredible exciting well written read by a gifted author. The passion and power in this story is astonishing. If you love shifter romance this one is a reader's delight. In the world of shifter romance the possibilities are endless and fascinating. {I received an arc for an honest review}. Without reservations I highly recommend this book and the author.

You know what, it wasn't half bad. It was very much a Beauty and the Beast story all the way through. He even tried to woo her with chocolate volcano cake...I had thought it was a very Applebee's type of moment, but my friends tell me that the best volcano cake comes from Chili's so maybe he got it from there. Still a few things that were not disclosed like how he was a billionaire if he never let his horde be sold off for real money to be placed in a bank or the fact that the shock that he was a dragon wasn't enough, but let's just keep reminding the reader that he was a "billionaire dragon." So much mouthwatering going on in this book that the floor should be covered with puddles of saliva, yada, yada, yada. The end of the book has a collection of covers of some bear series from Anya Nowlan...so, just when I thought a story couldn't get more surreal...this book reminded me that fiction can create worlds of it's own. Not going to say that this is good literature, but it was a very easy read that was a bit clever with the material presented. Guess I should never judge a book by its cover...which means I should read a book with a hunky guy and a bear on the cover? Don't know if I am ready for that.

The story is good, but there were a few things that drove me nuts and really took away from my enjoyment of the story. The first was the use of commas in the writing. The author seems to not understand how commas work or were they go. It really interrupted the flow of the story whenever I cam across one of those commas that was in the wrong spot.

My other problem was with Devon, the main character. He's a bit of a jerk. that I can forgive, especially since the personality makes sense for a dragon. However, he keeps thinking about how he wants to force Gemma to have sex with him. He wants to throw her down and have sex with her until she admits to wanting it. He never acts on it, but the fact that he kept wanting to made me hate his character.

Gemma also annoyed me. She has these moments where she fights back against Devon for kidnapping her and informing her that she will marry him regardless of what she wants. But she gets so focused on how sexy that he is that she completely ignores how much of a jerk he is. Her feelings about devon are so inconsistent, and even though she is portrayed as intelligent at times, her brain turns to fluff on an alarmingly regular basis.

The basic plot is good, but I just couldn't get over the characters and the horribly misused commas.

Devon Bluewing, a dragon shifter, has taken over as head of the family but to keep his place as head of the council he must find a bride before the next gold moon, which is in three weeks’ time. Gemma Teeley is a goldsmith from Gold Valley and when the town’s yearly bounty is increased, she is the only one willing to go and confront Devon about it. As is the nature with this type of story, things do not go as she planned.

This book isn’t bad, but it could have been better. Gemma is a weak character who never actually accomplishes what she set out to do, even after she finds out just how rich the Bluewing’s really are. I also thought the novel was over-written, as in it felt like the author was trying too hard. This made the story difficult for me to lose myself in. Yes, there is some unique and funny elements, like where Gemma is abusing the summoning stone she’s given to relieve her boredom, but aside from that it’s a pretty generic shifter story.

I didn’t buy my copy of this novel, as I got it free through a suggested post promotion I saw on facebook, however, I wouldn’t have begrudged paying 99p for it, if I had.

Suggested Audience: Adult readers of PNR.
Profanity: Negligible.
Sexual content: Graphic.
Violence: Moderate.
Cautionary element: Contains a kidnaping.

Modern dragons have the same old responsibilities--to preserve their traditions, and to marry and produce heirs to guard the evergrowing dragon hoard of gold. They can't help it they're arrogant, super-alpha, and ultra-hot. Devon needs a bride within weeks in order to keep his place at the head of the dragon council, so he blackmails the human Gemma into the position of his bride-to-be. Given that Devon is going kicking and screaming into marriage in the first place, while Gemma certainly doesn't appreciate being forced into marriage, even to a hunk like Devon, it's a great read to watch the two characters grow into their relationship, because the attraction is there from the beginning.

So far I've loved all of Anya Nowlan's stories and found them to be well-written, and always engaging. This time, the story is engaging, but I ran into occasional jarring issues with grammar and word usage that I wasn't expecting. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and couldn't leave out this small issue. I look forward to more books in the series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the start of a new series for Ms. Nowlan and Billionaire Dragon’s Bride was fascinating for me. I haven’t read many dragon shifters but Devon Bluewing is certainly a prime specimen. He is big, he is gorgeous, he is a magnificent dragon…and sorta pompous, in a good-to-read way. He is a dragon stuck in the middle of the “old” and “new” ways of the Dragon council and at the very beginning of the book, he is backed into a corner and must find a wife within a short amount of time. Enter Gemma Teeley, a Goldsmith from the village. Literally! Devon has an epiphany, and declares Gemma will be his wife (in two weeks’ time) rather than listening to what she had come to his castle to say.

It was fun watching Devon develop feelings for Gemma and for Gemma to start to “fall in line” with Devon’s decrees. Add in some mystery and hijinks and you have a great story and a wonderful start to a new series. I can’t wait to read the next one!
