Caffeine and Killers
A homeless man has been hanging outside Roasted Love in the mornings.
As Barista, Laila Rook doesn't mind that Homeless John comes into Roasted Love to get a free cup of coffee and hang out for a few minutes. He's a nice guy and tells great stories, and his mission in life is to help those on Skid Row get off drugs. He's just a guy down on his luck and she's happy to befriend him.
In fact, everyone seems to enjoy having him around - that is, except the councilman who has vowed to rid West River, New York of all the homeless.
When Homeless John is found dead for a drug overdose, Laila's the only one who thinks something is rotten. Laila determines to find out what.
She's bound and determined to find out what the Councilman might be hiding in his campaign office, and she dares to go into the underworld of Skid Row to find out who John really was and who might want him dead.
When a dealer she meets on Skid Row turns up dead just like John, she's more certain than ever that she's on to something.
Everyone she meets has a story to tell, and when she gets a mysterious warning, she know's she close to figuring out what's going on, but can she figure out who it is before she ends up dead, too?

Caffeine & Killers (A Roasted Love Cozy Mystery Book 3)
I really enjoyed this book. I haphazardly read book 2 first, which was really good which is why I decided to read this one. So, yes, this story had a super story line, it was clean. I so appreciate an author who can write a story without having to resort to bad language or innuendos. That alone is why I only read Cozy Mysteries. I love the main characters relationship together (Laila and Daniel). I also love the way Laila is so determined to clear a person’s name no matter what their lifestyle is. In this case, the homeless. Let’s just say, you will really like this Mystery. Give Cam Larson a chance...you won’t regret it.

Laila looks into the death of the very sweet homeless man that frequented Roasted Love. She takes a few too many risks and I feel like she should really listen to Daniel more frequently as he does work in the emergency field. The mystery was interesting and though misleading, I found it quite easy to figure it out. Don't go into this book expecting a good riddle.
I still really liked the book, and I'm sad that this is the last book in the series. If Larson wants to write another book, I would gladly read it.

This book had a great cover and the premise wasn't bad either, thought it would be an interesting read, no thriller but this book had the potential to be a great little book.
However I found this book to be badly written and the editors should shoulder some of this blame. Even if it was written for young adults, apart from the content, I would say it was written to the reading ability of a child.
There were sentences that didn't add to the flow and/or plot of the story. I was going to stop reading after the first couple of chapters but I made a pledge with myself that I would finish the book and give it an honest review.

A story about a favorite coffee shoppe and the homeless man who slept in their doorway at night . They always gave him a cup of coffee in the morning and customers knew John to so the often gave him a few dollars. After he told Laila (the clerk) a few stories he would be on his way for the day.One day he never showed up and they found him dead. No one especially Laila didnt believe he overdosed. She goes to investigate on her own. She keeps asking her boyfriend Daniel for inside information but he tells her to stay away from the bad end of town and leave it alone. When the second homeless man dies the same way , she digs in deeper. It is hard to figure out who was the one thru out the book . Laila didnt know either until that one night- she found out.

Cozy mystery with a variety of suspects and a little romance. Puts forward some of the reasons for the homeless population, hopefully garnering some sympathy for their plight.

Cam Larson is terrific!
I really enjoyed this series. Laila, the coffee barista is a very curious Nancy Drew character. The plots are compelling and I found I couldn't put the books down. Looking for more of Cam Larson!

This was an excellent cozy it had all the right elements. I loved the characters and the story was a dream. I really love this author.

Twisted
Disappointed that I knew the murderer but enjoyed read the adventure. Good twists and turns and great characters. Going on to book 4.

This is book 3 in the series. I have read book 1 and 2. I have to say this was my least favorite but it was still good.
