Evangeline is a former supermodel more famous for the men she’s dated and the scandals she’s been involved in than for her acting talent. Now, the famous Brit has turned her hand to designing wedding gowns and lingerie for the rich and famous. It’s an open secret that she only designs her outrageously priced gowns for attractive women, and she won't let just any client walk into her luxurious salon. The Diva Designer also has a famous temper. She’s been wildly successful in the design industry—until an unfortunate incident ends with a seamstress cursing both her and her latest wedding gown. Now rumours are circulating, clients are cancelling, employees are gossiping, and the tabloid press are picking up the juicy story of the cursed celebrity designer. Four brides have attempted to get married in the cursed dress and none of them has made it down the aisle. To squelch the rumours, Evangeline announces publicly that she is wearing the gown herself—for her own wedding. It’s a brilliant PR tactic. All she has to do now is find a witch, an exorcist, a shaman, a gypsy, or anyone who can remove the stubborn curse. Then she’ll need to find herself a groom... A temporary one will do. There’s only one man she trusts completely for the job—Wade Davenport. Her former lover has no illusions about Evangeline. He won’t get any foolish ideas about love or a real marriage... Will he? Clever and fun getting to know all of these brides and their men. Interesting people and story lines.... couldn’t stop after just one book, or two, or three.... all five were grand !
If the Dress Fits by Nancy Warren The Almost Wives Club Series Book Five Evangeline was once more than a famous model and designer. That person has been buried deep inside the always perfectly dressed and made up woman the world sees as Evangeline. When she needs help to get out from the curse of a wedding gown that has been passed around but never worn, she makes a false claim. And now the one man who knows that hidden woman is the only person who can help her. Will he?
Wade Davenport receives an odd phone call. An old girlfriend needs his help. Even with all the years that have passed between them, she still has a way of making it hard to refuse her anything. Sadly, he sees that her Evangeline persona has pretty much buried the young woman he used to know.
In the world of the rich and famous some folks will do anything to keep their armor nice and shiny. No matter the cost. Will Evangeline find a way to remove the curse from her business, or will she find something better? **Sensual content http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Evangeline needs to get help to remove this curse on the wedding gown and herself to save her business. This pain in a butt reporter keeps giving her a hard time and she ends up blurting out that she is engaged to be married and will be wearing the wedding gown because it is not cursed. So Evangeline contacts an old boyfriend Wade. He agrees to a fake engagement. Wade has always been in love with her but when she was Gabby the down to earth girl and not the powerful Evangeline. Can Wade get the old Gabby to return, the girl he fell in love with all those years ago? Can Evangeline get the curse removed or can she find something even better? Read the book to find out. I loved every minute of the book. I hate to see this series come to an end.
Each book in this series had likeable characters (Kate, Tasmine, Dylan, Bennett) and unlikeable characters (Ashley, Eric, Ted, Evangeline). The next book would have that previous unlikeable fiancee and make them relateable and by the end of the book someone likeable because the person they love helped them with growth. In this book Evangeline is an unlikely, unrelateable, selfish person who is loved by Wade. Wade is a great guy who loves life and won't put up with Evangeline's diva demands or selfishness. You want to find likeable characteristics as she must have some if Wade loves her. Though i did not see much growth in Evangeline's character. I did see her happy after making certain decisions.
This book is so good. It's the final in the series, and I really liked all the previous ones. My only concern was that all the characters were basically well meaning and well rounded - except Evangeline. She was just a two-dimensional horror show. But this is her story, and it won't surprise you that it goes far deeper than we had seen before.
I will say, normally I dislike the fake romance trope, but Nancy Warren makes it sing. And seeing all the previous brides re-united was just gold.
I read this previously and apparently forgot to review so my review now will not be as well written or long. I do recommend reading this book and the entire series. It's an adventure of a dress and a group of girls. I found the story very interesting and quite enjoyed reading them all. This last one might just be my favorite though.
Five women -- Kate, Ashley, Tasmine, Megan, and Gabby -- have found and married their trueloves. And the so-called "cursed" dress has finally made it down the aisle, worn by the bride it was always meant for.
Ms. Warren has crafted a fairytale, Happily-Ever-After ending to this five-book series.
I can't get past the idea of Evangeline as a heroine. She has been so awful in the other books. I read chapter one and still wasn't feeling it. So I read the ending. It was a cute wrap up that included the other four brides, but I still couldn't get into Gabby/Evangeline.
I thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series and recommend it to anyone who loves life, romance, and being in love. They should be sold as a set because I would not have enjoyed any of them as much if not read in order. Thank you Ms Warren for an adventure in life, love and change.
What a fantastic ending. all former brides come together to become friends and help try to remove the curse. media frenzy has evangeline stating that she is engaged to an old flame. wade rides to the rescue
The fifth book in the series!!! Loved them all and needed to read the next one to see how it ends!! Great series!! Now for the next series by who I'm not sure!!
