3 to 3.5 Kade Loving Stars!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy from Author via NetGalley

I LOVED. LOVED. Dare to Kiss, so I was ecstatic to read Dare to Dream. In this book it's a continuation of Lacey and Kade. Part of me was excited to continue with them and another part of me was hoping the next book was going to be one of the triplets.

Don't get me wrong I loved Lacey and Kade but I thought their story ended well in book one and the mystery could have been carried out with the stories of the brothers. But that was not the case so with this book we get to follow the trials and tribulations of young love. Even though they're young, they've a very mature relationship. They both had to grow up too fast with their past tragedies but these pasts are also part of the bind that connects these two.

Lacey's barely keeping her shit together with her PTSD, the mystery of the death of her mom and sister , baseball and a new relationship. Kade's fierce, loyal and protective which are strengths as a person but faults as part of a relationship.

Even though Kade acts before he thinks things through. His intentions come from the purest place. He only wants to love and protect Lacey. He doesn't want to see her hurt anymore than she already has been.

"You're my unconscious beauty. You're my whole world, Lacey. I love the tattoo."

In the beginning their relationship is intense and profound. This is what keeps them going through everything.

"I love the crap out of your, baby. I'm here for you."

But it all becomes too much for Lacey. Lacey's so quick to get angry and act out that she doesn't take the time to truly listen. She always assumes people think she's weak but if she listened she would learn so much more about herself and the people who care about her.

"I'll do you one better. We need a break. I need a break." ( A little harsh of a reaction but they're in high school where everything is emotionally charged. However, if Lacey just stepped back a bit she would see Kades POV. It doesn't mean she has to agree but if she saw it she might have made a better decision)

"I don't want to get hurt any more than I am now, and I'm not sure he'll change." (Ugh! Insert eye roll here. This woe is me never wins me over with heroines, young or not. Lacey's not perfect and wants and needs Kade to accept her as she is, but wants Kade to change. Grrrr. Maybe Kade would be better off with someone else. Insert Gasp. Did I just say that? Yep. I did)

While Lacey pushes Kade away for totally the wrong reasons they both get great advice from their families and friends. Without some of this advice they may have never found each other again.

"Protect her. Don't suffocate her. I also know how possessive all you boys are. That's not a bad thing in the least. Just make sure you know when to back off, and when not to. She's a strong girl on the outside, but she is extremely fragile on the inside."

" . . . Look, sweetie. You can't get mad every time Kade keeps something from you. Understand his reasons. You have to meet each other halfway. Decide what you can and can't handle and communicate with him."

While Lacey and Kade are going through their new trials and tribulations they are also find themselves smack middle of the mob. Which causes all kinds of commotions. Thankfully Kade's love and support is strong and he watched from the sidelines waiting for when Lacey needed him. And oh boy did she need him. How can you not after how many near death situations she went through. Even though she's faced with more stress and tragedies, which are almost over the top of how much she went through but hey I don't know what it's like with the mob so it could be bang on. With these situations though she finally has a breakthrough on her PTSD and learns to become stronger than she already was.

"I'll do my best, but I can't promise I won't fuck up. And I need you to promise that you won't walk out or break up with me every time we have an argument. Because we're going to argue and disagree on things. Sometimes Lace, you don't see past your anger."

As in any relationship, they take work. Which means Lacey and Kade will have a bumpy road but their love seems strong enough to make it in the end. Thankfully we will get to see more of them with the next books which will be on the different Maxwell brothers.

Sometimes books that are continuations of the same couple can be great and other times they can fall flat. With Dare to Dream it fell somewhere in the middle for me. I liked the mystery and the intrigue of what was going on but I got disappointed with parts of their relationship. Sometimes its hard to disengage from being an adult and getting in the mind of YA. In reality being a YA so many decisions are made on emotions instead of logic but as an adult its hard to not get frustrated and want them to get their shit together. However, did this book embody the YA mind? Yes. Do I love this series? Absolutely. Do I love Kade? No doubt. Can I wait for the next book in the series? Barely, as I can't wait to see Kelton lose his heart to love. Do I think it is an important message with PTSD? Absolutely. Did I absolutely love this book? No. I loved parts of it but I also didn't like parts of it making me not get as enveloped with this book as I did with Dare to Kiss.

Another great read, and a fab conclusion to Kade and Lacey's story. Loved how we had the same elements as book one with the addition of a suspenseful sub plot and some heart-in-the-mouth scenes that had me on the edge of my seat. Highly Recommended.

Dare to Dream by SB Alexander is book two of the Maxwell Brothers Series told in dual POVs ending with a HEA.

Kade is protective, possessive, and fiercely loyal to his family and to Lacey. He will do whatever he can in his power to keep them all as safe as possible. He is a leader, a warrior.

Lacey is feisty yet vulnerable, sassy yet sweet. She's a hothead who's temper gets in the way of her rational thinking, but she's the perfect compliment to Kade who's levelheaded and calm. She's combating her PTSD with the help of Kade and just when she thinks she has a handle on it, her past comes back with a vengeance.

Together Kade and Lacey are a beautiful match, but their pasts won't stay behind and keeps threatening their future. Determined to make their relationship work, they make decisions and react in ways that jeopardize everything they want to hold on to. Can Kade and Lacey hold tight to their love and find strength in each other to combat their pasts? Will Lacey be able to handle the chaos, her PTSD, and baseball all at once? Can Kade keep all his loved ones safe and out of harms way whole keeping himself intact? Or will it all be for nothing? Will they fall apart? Do they dare to dream for the future they envision? Or will their pasts implode on their present and ruin it all?

Dare to Dream is the perfect conclusion to Kade and Lacey's story and the perfect segue into book 3. It's suspenseful, witty, steamy, swoon worthy, funny, and passionate. Full of twists and turns I didn't see coming. I was sitting on the edge of my seat, gasping out loud, and nearly dropped my kindle near the end. It had me guessing and asking what and who and why? I was snickering at Lacey's sass and at the triplets' humor. Kade was possessive perfection and had me swooning all over the place. He and Lacey lit up my kindle with their passion and love. I couldn't get enough and devoured this book in one day. SB Alexander did an amazing job bringing this story to life, keeping the suspense, and keeping me wanting more. I cannot wait for book 3.

**I received an advanced readers copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!**

This book is the second book in The Maxwell Series and continues Lacey and Kade's story. To fully appreciate this book you need to read Dare to Kiss first which is the first book in the series and one that I personally really enjoyed.

I don't even know where to begin. This instalment had a much different feel than the first book. Dare to Kiss was mostly about the budding relationship between Lacey and Kade mixed with a bunch of major issues and problems. Dare to Dream took on all of the major issues specifically the murder of Lacey's mom and sister. Although the romance was still there, this book was more suspenseful and action packed.

So many things happened in this book but I don't want to mention them and give anything away. Lets just say that if it were a movie there would be more than a couple eye covering moments. Not only does Lacey have to worry about her PTSD, budding baseball career and relationship but also mobsters, bodyguards, bullies, robbers and murderers. It is way more intense which says a lot because the first book definitely had its moments.

Throughout all of the chaos and drama the characters really developed and grew and even though I was already in their corner, the feeling solidified for me. I also can't forget to mention that I got more of the Maxwell triplets as well. What can I say about them? Athletic, good looking and extremely protective and loyal will have all readers wanting more and I still hold out hope that they will each get their own story.

This was another job well done by S.B. Alexander and I enjoyed it as much as the first but for completely different reasons. I can't wait to see what direction this series goes in next! Perhaps Kelton's story?

S.B. Alexander crept her way into my heart with Dare to Kiss and never let go. I have been patiently waiting for Dare to Dream. Okay. That is a lie...it was nowhere near patiently! I have been CRAVING it! I can say I was not disappointed in the slightest. I clung to the words like I needed them to breathe. S.B. knows how to make her her words cut you like a knife and make you feel the characters, love, anguish, anger, and all the emotions in between. Her words have been nothing short of fulfilling. Her signature bittersweet ending will leave you happy, but wanting more!

Lacey and Kade, despite everything they've gonr through this far, face even harder obstacles in Dare to Dream. As the Maxwell Motto is about taking care of and protecting family, to which Kade takes deathly serious when it comes to Lacey, but what happens when they need protection from their own family? Lacey and Kade will be weaving in and out of the complexities that consume their lives and will find answers that leave them shell shocked. Will their love hold true through the trying times? Just how many bumps, lies, and secrets can they take? All of this and more will have you gripping your Kindle or e-reader hesitating to read more, but needing answers the most.

Brace yourself for every twist, turn, and loop that is thrown at you in the journey that is Dare to Dream. It won't be regretted.

Dare to Dream is an AMAZING book! Ever since I read Dare to Kiss and fell in love with Lacey & Kade, I have been wanting more ever since!

This book is the second book in the Maxwell Series. It features Lacey, star pitcher for the baseball team and Kade, bad boy image all around.

In Dare to Dream, it has a mixture of everything; friendship, love, hate, secrets.

Throughout the book, Kade is so protective over Lacey. I like it! ;) Kade is all about family. So when Lacey is put in danger. He goes to extreme to do that, protect. Even if that involve tutoring the mob bosses daughter for help.

But will all the secrets that Kade keeps from Lacey just make her PTSD even worse?

Like I said, this book will keep you on your feet with all the action & suspense. And if you are like me, you cannot put your Kindle down. :) It's truly AMAZING !

I loved the first book and was anxiously awaiting this book. This one didn't hold my interest as much. I have been reading in off and on for a while. I love Lacey and Kade. The book seemed so long but there were some exciting parts. Kidnappings and bad guys with guns and romance make for a pretty decent read. I still Think the first book was better but this is a good follow up. The author really knows how to tell a story. My questions were answered.

Dare to Dream wow! It is full of twists and turns and you will not be expecting it at all.
Kade and Lacey are great together, they love each but argue all the same. However that is what makes their relationship work. The Maxwell brothers are all protective of her and the family and they are the sort of people you will want on your side. The book is beautifully written and its nice to see Kade's point of view and you can read just how much he loves Lacey and he would do anything to protect her.
The book has an explosive ending and its such a good book I could not put down! Gripping and different from the first book but you learn more about the characters and fall even deep in love with all of them

This was the second part of Kade and Lacey's story. It involves a lot of stuff with the murders of her mom and sister. The good news is that Lacey was finally able to know who did it. Too bad everything went the way it did. Luckily she had Kade and his family there to help her get through it all.

Nicole McCurdy @ Nic's Novel Idea

I've tried to write a review for this book three times in the last week and every time I've attempted it, I had to bail, simply because I could't find a way to describe it, that would do it any justice, not the way I had it mapped out in my head.

I've been trying to convey my excitement, joy, hope, awe and heartache about this unforgettable story, but how do you do that in such a way that anyone will sit up and take notice and take a chance on a book they mightn't have otherwise because I feel so strongly about Dare to Kiss and Dare to Dream?

Dare to Dream is the continuation of Kade and Lacey's breathtaking yet complicated love story from Dare to Kiss, the one that had me gripped and addicted and in love with Susan Alexander's stunning writing capabilities and characterisation techniques. However Dare to Dream is a definite step up in the drama category, the tension and suspense are magnified and enhanced as Lacey is on the verge of discovering who murdered her mum and sister as well as experiencing the problems and angst being in love often causes and it's with this more enthralling and complex storyline that Susan showcases the maturity in her writing, there is a more adult feel to the tale this time around but it still harbours that same beautiful innocence of first love, the pain and uncertainty that can come from it even as the darker elements take root and give Dare to Dream more gritty substance to delve into.

Kade and Lacey are as mutli-faceted, wonderful and unique, staying true to their characters natures from the first book but this time there seems to be more to them- more confidence, more depth, more action and I felt we get to see a little more if Lacey's inner workings, in Dare to Kiss she was quite reserved and cynical but in Dare to Dream she comes into her own and we see more fight and flare from the feisty baseball playing heroine.

Even though it's a love story with two captivating and very real leads, Kade and his brothers play a huge part in creating a very different kind of love story that is layered into the plot but is in no way any less special. The family dynamic, the camaraderie and ball-busting, the having each others back and the very apparent love that the Maxwell family has for one another plays a massive part in Dare to Dream's ability to charm its readers, as we get comedy, sadness and integrity all from each brother and all adding something special to the story.

S.B Alexander has the talent and tenacity to get very far in Authorsville, especially if she continues to write books as entertaining and sparkling with wit and dialogue as these ones. She quite clearly knows how to go from a well thought out plot to executing it with flair and style as evidenced by her books in the Dare series. I cannot wait to see what the next Maxwell man has in store for us.

Okay first off let me apologize I can't believe I originally posted another review in place of Dare to Dream. But, at least I found out I had. I must be sleep deprived.

Now on to Dare to Dream review. The real review! :)

I loved the story between Lacey and Kade! I feel you can read the synopsis so I don't need to repeat what is happening with them. I didn't realize there was a book 1 in the Maxwell Series when I received this ARC but, I don't think I missed anything major by not reading it.

There were twists and turns in Dare to Dream to keep this book interesting. I love that Lacey played baseball on the boys team! Go Lacey! I read this book in 1 day. There are around 268 pages per Goodreads since I can't tell how many pages there were on my Kindle. And, there was my requisite HEA with an opening for another book! No cliffhanger type ending!

Dare to Dream is a must read but, it would probably be good to start with the first book Dare to Kiss. I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

Let me tell you I loved this book. Seriously I loved it so much I read it in one day. I fell in love with Kade and Lacey in Dare to Kiss and was so excited to see how their story played out in this book. I was not disappointed! I knew there was going to be some drama but I didn't expect all of the twists and turns and suspense that happened in this book! You will not be disappointed! I think that the ending was super realistic and let e happy with how everything ended.... It even left it open to where maybe a novella or another book could come into play (hint hint) haha! I also am so looking forward to the triplets getting their books! Even though I don't love them nearly as much as Kade I think that could change after reading their stories. Overall a very well written book. It is definitely one that I can see myself coming back to and reading over again.

A 5 star rating
Well I have to say S.B. Has done it once again and possibly even better I loved this book. I fell in love with Lacey and Kade in Dare To Kiss and this just amped it by a thousand. This story has everything some funny, romance and enough suspense to keep you turning pages to get to the end but at the same time not wanting it to end. All in all this was a great book and even though I'm not quite ready to let Lacey and Kade go I cannot wait to get my hands on Kelton's story. All I can say is if your looking for a great series with an amazing guy and an absolutely great female character look so further.

Dare to DreamI ended being so interested in this book that I bought the first in order to read the ARC. It was so intriguing and I loved every bit of it. The dynamic of the characters and the plot twist were amazing. I of course was left wanting to read more and also wanting the stories of the brothers but overall a great read. Thank you for allowing me to read this! I would gladly love to read more.

An absolutely thrilling story, but then what else can you expect from Sue Alexsnder. Right from the start you can feel the evil and tension growing and she cranks up the pace chapter after chapter unto she comes up with TWO climatic scenarios and that's without the final baseball game. Exciting, pacey and very funny dialogue this is a cracking story and I can't recommend it enough, however read Dare to kiss first.

What an amazing sequel to "Dare to Kiss." There is massive helpings of suspense, heartbreak and romance. Carrying on from the first book Kade and Lacey have now been together for six months and in that time her PTSD has calmed down somewhat with the help of Kade. Obviously the happiness doesn't last for long and all to quickly we are drawn into the continuing search for Lacey's mum and sisters' killer. This causes Lacey setbacks in her recovery which Kade is there for support. We learn a lot about Lacey's dads family ties which could be the unravelling of them all.
All through the book I was still rooting for Kade and Lacey's relationship, it had me totally emotionally invested in them which I love in a book. It had me continuing to turn pages and not caring that I had to get up early for work; I had to continue and find out how this instalment ended. Trust me, I certainly wasn't disappointed and you wont be either.

I will not describe the plot because you can read it for yourself. I also will not divulge any spoilers.
Dare to Dream is a very good read. While I am not a fan of high school love stories, this one is exceptional. While there are some sex scenes, the author handled these tastefully, not graphically. It is well-written and the characters well developed. I love Lacey, Kade and his brothers and all the interactions among them. This book continues Lacey and Kade's storyline that began in Dare to Kiss. I found this book to be even more than I expected: more romance, more high school drama and more suspense. All of the questions I had at the end of Dare to Kiss were answered, in spades. S. B. Alexander deliver! A word of caution: for the best enjoyment Dare to Kiss should be read first.

>Book Review – Dare to Dream
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Maxwell series and ends in an HEA. Kade and Lacey’s story continues. There are a lot of conflicts between different characters and a lot of surprises involving the mystery surrounding the murder of Lacey’s family. The baseball scenes continue, which ground the story, as it has a lot of climactic moments. Hard choices are made after graduation for all of the brothers and Lacey. I love how things don’t go as planned, but maybe what happens is what is for the best.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. The romance between Lacey and Kade is so deep and romantic. Those scenes are my favorite.

What to write other than Hell Yes! I was not sure I would be interested in a story about high school love but the author has kept me hooked. I finished Book 1 only to IMMEDIATELY start Book 2 because I had so many questions that needed so many answers. I got verification of who I thought was terrorizing Lacey and even though I had guessed correctly, it did not diminish my interest in the story or how the author let her readers know. There was enough young but hot love interspersed with intrigue and suspense to keep all readers interested. I ended this book by once again immediately purchasing and starting Book 3 since I just have to know what happens next! I am looking forward to hearing Kelton's story but I also hope to find out if Kade and Lacey get their Happily Ever After.

She had experienced trauma, now suffered at triggers to her PTSD, but a new life, a new high school, and a chance to try out for the baseball team, which may lead to a scholarship, well, that was what her dreams for her future was all about.
He, had three brothers, triplets, which were his responsibility, whilst his father was away. He really didn't need any more drama in his life. Then this feisty female, not only stands up to him, but follows through on putting him down. He realized then and there, he had just found the love of his life.
However, between revenge from former students, plus the guy who had destroyed her family still being out there, well, that's what makes this a superlative tale.

Dear god. Please tell me that isn't the end of their story. If so, I'm pissed. I don't want freaking realism. Especially after all that unbelievable drama. If they don't have more of an ending in the last two about the brothers I don't actually give a shit about (Kross is somewhat interesting.), I'll drop a star.

I like Kade, I do. And she's okay. But their dialogue is so odd. They fight over nothing. I am constantly confused as to what they're thinking. They tell us, but it doesn't make sense with their actions.

And please. You can refer to Kade's Kock as Mr. Steel as a joke, once. But please. Do. NOT. continue. And you did. Like....6 times. In a sex scene. No.

All Kade wants to do is protect and take care of Lacey. Lacey has been through so much. Her mother and sister were murdered and she suffers from PTSD. She is the one who found her mother and sister after they were murdered. But, she is strong and wants to be able to stand on her own two feet. Her dad and Kade have to quit trying to shield her all the time. But, now there is another threat and Lacey is kidnapped, twice. She just has to push through her fears and Kade is going to have to trust her or they can't be together.

Kade & Lacey

I fell in love with Kade & Lacey’s story since book 1. Such fragile yet strong couple. They’ve been through so much in their young lives and still manage to come out on top. In this book, you’ll learn about who murdered Lacey’s family (mom & sister) & find out about more of family members. In addition, you’ll see how her relationship with Kade developed through out the story. I love this series, once I started reading, I wanted more & more. I cannot wait to dive into Kelton’s story.

This continuation of Lacey and Kade's story had it all...love, angst, sass, intrigue and humor. My emotions were all over the place and I could not put it down. These characters were so developed they felt like they could be real people. Overcoming so many twists and turns kept the pages flipping quickly. I recommend this book highly.
