A Tiger’s Bride by Eve Langlais

Book 4 in the Lion’s Pride series. Paranormal shifter humerus romance. Can be read as a stand-alone romance.
Lions and Tigers are incredibly prideful. And hilarious in their arrogance. At least this couple is. Teena is a klutz and well meaning. Dmitri is male and after being rejected by Meena, decides Teena is more to his liking anyway. When his text doesn’t go through to his henchmen to stop their kidnapping of Teena, he decides to go through with the marriage regardless. But he was raised by a household of woman, so knows his virgin bride must be treated well and seduced in a bed. Not on the run from a number of interfering people.
So funny when he lets the father-in-law land punches because it’s the right thing to do. Ouch. Many more such funny situations that just roll off his attitude.

I listened to the audio version narrated by Brock Thompson and alternated with an ebook. I have the paperback somewhere too. Brock did a decent job of differentiating between voices. I counted at least a half dozen different accents although the female tone was almost to the silly side.

Amazingly, the virgin status of the bride did delay full sexual gratification until the very end of this book. Unusual for this author, but well done in the delaying in the various funny antics that happen in the story.

3.75 TWIN STARS

This is the story of Teena a sweet, witty, clumsy, innocent shifter lioness who had captured the interest of Dmitri our hero and a shifter Siberian tiger. Dmitri sees the heroine at her twin's wedding and decides she would be the perfect woman to bear his Tigons (half lion, haft tiger) cubs.
Only one problem: HE ALREADY TRIED HIS MOVES ON HER TWIN SISTER!

description

Her father sees Dmitri's interest and tries to warn him off.
“Innocent? What a lovely tidbit. His determination to possess her only grew, despite her father’s objections. “I think the choice should belong to your daughter.”
Now he had every intention of wooing his intended but his men took it upon themselves to help his cause. They both dress up as two (and I am quoting here) "ugly cousins" and drug the heroine with Jell-O shots.
Which was totally hilarious!

description

In fact, this whole book was funny! I laughed and laughed as they share funny moments and exchange witty and sexy repartee! For example the running joke about Murphy's Law.
“I told you I’m lucky.” Said the hero.
Crack.
“You just had to tempt Murphy didn’t you,” she grumbled.
“I spit in his face, whoever this Murphy is”
“I don’t believe it. We made it. We’re alive. We’re”—Crack.
Damn you, Murphy—“fucked!”

And I have to admit it really does appear that if it was not for BAD luck the heroine would have NO luck whatsoever!

description

Now, Teena feels like she is second best and honest who could blame her. She didn't want to come in second to her twin. She wanted to be loved and cherished for herself.
Would Dmitri be able to carry out his plans and make her feel like the greatest love of his life? Or is she destine to feel like second best? And how would their families react to their relationship?
You must read this book to find out!

description

So many things happened to these two that it seemed like they would never get together. It was non-stop action and laughs. It was a little overwhelming at times to tell the truth.
However, I could not give this story 5 stars because for me there was very little romance and/or sex. I only had one sex scenes and it's near the end that it happens.
Ah well, it was still very enjoyable, funny and sweet but just not very sensual.

This was another light, funny, shapeshifter romance...But why does it get extra points? Allow me to explain.

All the credit goes to Dmitri, the male lead and tiger shifter. This book is told through dual POV and that took it up a notch. Dmitri had a delightful, wicked thought process and I've never been more pleased with a male POV. Eve Langlais nailed it.
Usually, I don't have the patience for monologues or inner ramblings, but I was actively looking for these parts as the story moved forward. I laughed often and laughed hard, Major Cheesecake Points.

Teena was serene but she secretly longed for adventure, she is constantly compared to her sister which is irritating at times. I loved it that Dmitri appreciated the differences between the two and has no doubts about his choice.

In book 3 Dmitri was portrayed as an obsessed lover and he had a tiny role. Here we meet the shifter who is wicked, self assured, kind, patient and an incurable romantic. He is also an accomplished multi tasker...I leave the rest to your imagination.

“Kidnapping, locked rooms, and threats aren’t the way to get a girlfriend.”
“And yet don’t the romance novels use these very same methods to gain a hero a bride?”

They tended to frown on shifters, even practically royal ones, abducting women.
Apparently it was so eighteen hundreds.
Old didn’t mean it wasn’t efficient.

Men didn’t whine in public—they waited to tell their mother later so she could rant at length about the disrespect of peasants and plot ways to ruin them.

Is it considered a kidnapping if the abductee doesn't want to be returned to her previous life? Teena's family considers it a yes, but our cute little bride here thinks differently. She's led such a boring life, she was ready for an adventure. And did she get one. Between kidnappings (some accidental) druggings (not accidental), and a desperate need to lose her virginity to her husband, Teena is in for one while ride. A Tiger's Bride had so many laugh out loud moments I was sorry to see the book, and the series end.

So we first meet Dmitri in the previous book and frankly, I chucked him straight into the bad guy file. I mean come on, Russian mobster should equal bad guy right? Such a misunderstood shifter. I certainly didn't think he would come to be such a lovable and funny character. He has this water on a duck's back attitude about everything that had me in stitches. Of course most of it was beat into him female family back at home. The perfect tiger needs the perfect bride for breeding. Boy is he in for it with Teena!

I didn't think it was possible for a more klutzier shifter could exist besides Meena. I was wrong. Meet Teena, her twin. Where Meena didn't care, Teena was a bit more sensitive about it. She's so klutzy, she was still a virgin. A virgin, a shifter virgin! Who'd have thunk that?! Certainly not Dmitri, and when he finds out, oh Lordy...talk about pressure. Most guys would be jumping for joy that their future wife was pure. Not Dmitri. To say he was having some issues is a understatement because your first is always the one you remember. I love how this story was filled with little chuckle out loud moments such as this.

So now the A Lion's Pride series has ended (Sad meow!). It was a fun run from the first book to the last. Ms. Langlais never disappoints with her stories and I can't wait for the next one to begin. Anyone who enjoys humor with the shifters, needs to make sure this author. Never a disappointment from Eve Langlais. RAWR!!

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

Quickshot Review
So. He kidnaps and drugs and coerces her into marriage? Yeaaaah. Well, it’s also comprised of humans who turn into gigantic cats, so realism is not high on the priority list. She’s pretty accepting, he’s completely arrogant in a kinda charming way and somehow it all worked for me, even if the steam factor was pretty low. It helped pass the time. I liked it.

Did not finish. The hero had kidnapped the heroine's sister because he wanted half tiger, half lion babies. Sister refused to be his and married someone else. At the wedding, he sees the sister of the woman he kidnapped and decides she'll be his wife instead.

How flattering. Second best to her sister. I stopped reading at that point.

What does Teena and Calamity Jane have in common? Murphy's Law. In this case Teena becomes the love interest of her sister's jilted stalker Dimitri who now claims to have kidnapped the wrong sister and has his sights on her as his wife, mate, and future mother to his Tigons (or should that be Tiggers).

Dimitri, Siberian Tiger shifter, Prince, and Russian Mob Lord, may have lost Meena to Leo, but he still has plans. Meeting Teena, Meena's twin sister, Dimitri realizes how close he came to making a big mistake and now plans to marry Teena, no matter the cost. Little does he realize that cost will include facing a gun totting father, over protective relatives, an accidental kidnapping, plane crash, and news that his new wife is a virgin.

How better to show his new bride how awesome he is than to rescue his damsel and become the romantic hero he's read about heard about in all those trashy romance novels that women like her love to read.

* * * * *

Full disclosure: I had the pleasure of meeting Eve Langlais at a recent book convention and probably embarrassed myself as I was in total fan girl groupie mode. Got my moose shirt, bag, magnets, chocolates, signed books, and was able to get insider information from said author including who/what/when/where she approaches the primary male anatomy aspects in her books. Good time and even better is that she is so much better, nicer, and sweeter than anyone who hasn't met her realizes. So, my review may be biased as I consider what she and I have as a womance (no matter I've only met her the one time). :D

This is a laugh out loud hysterical read that has a strong flavor style of Delicate Freakn' Flower. For anyone looking for a serious complex paranormal story wondering if this one will fit the bill: DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.

Loved the interaction and dialogue between Dimitri and the secondary characters, most of which were his and Teena's family. Think The Hatfield's & McCoy's if they had been forced to interact because of a marriage between the two. Even better is the dynamics between Dimitri and Teena themselves. Pure comedic fun with a dash of snark and ego.

For those looking for the adult content in their reads. This portion will frustrate readers as I so wanted the two to do the nasty only to be thwarted time and time again. By the time things do get interesting (and they do) it was actually anti-climatic (for me) as I had so built up my hopes that it would be so worth the wait. :(

What did not work was that the individual scenes were too condensed and lacking in violence in the action-adventure-thriller portions. I realize it's easy to be a back seat quarterback but I have a bit of vindictive viciousness in my nature and not being able to appreciate more from that side of things didn't make me happy. As this is a personal feeling and I realize not all fans/readers have my same blood thirsty personality I didn't really take that into consideration for purposes of this review rating.

The author has included that this is the last in series installment (NO. NO. NO. LUNA & SASHA. Need I say more) so for those who like to wait for the series to be complete before reading, this would be the time. For those wondering if it's possible to read as a standalone. Not really. For those who read Delicate Freakn' Flower and wonder if there's another book out there like it. Yup. :D

Sitting watching the bride he had kidnapped, marry another Siberian tiger shifter, Demitri is resolved in his thoughts that she was not worthy of his magnificence. But when he sees her twin sister, Teena a lion shifter. She is perfect and his tiger is ready to meet it's mate. Teena though is clumsy and chaos follows her everywhere, when Demitri expresses his interest, Teena turns him down she doesn't want to be second choice.

Demitri though knows she s his first and only choice, he acted in haste with her sister. Deciding to properly woo her Demitri calls off his plan to kidnap her, only to find that unfortunate circumstances had her kidnapped, married to Demitri and now in lieu of a honeymoon they are in a plane crash, hunted, and have no time to consummate the marriage. Lions and tigers oh my.

Pure hilarious fun. I thought this was a hoot. Loved Demitri, so arrogant and he quickly devotes all his attention to Teena. Teena though questions his intentions, every date she has had doesn't last more than three, how can Demitri be convinced she is his mate and will he tire of her clumsiness? Very entertaining.

Wonderful book

I just love an innocent klutzy heroine with a heart of gold! Teena was perfect, and Demitri finally found the right one. Funny how when it is the right person it makes you become a better person. I loved how in Dimitri's eyes Teena could do no wrong. Sigh..., so good.

I wasn't expecting to enjoy A Tiger's Bride as much as I did because the hero had been Meena's stalker in the previous book. But EL created a real connection between Dimitri and Teena, and their antics had me giggling through most of the book. This is probably my favourite of the series so I am a little sad that this is the end.

A Tiger’s Bride is the fourth installment in the Lion’s Pride series and most definitely the reason for the lackluster ending from the third book. In the third book we have Dmitri who is stalking our heroine, Meena. While there is some weak attempts to kidnap her, there was nothing that happened with that come the end of that story. He just accepted her refusal and disappeared. However, in this book we see it is because he met his mate, Meena’s twin sister, Teena. So this story takes place right when they first meet, and I have to say this story was great. Dmitri isn’t exactly painted the best way in the third book, what with kidnapping Meena while she was in Russia and trying to force her into a marriage, however it is easy to forget that when he realizes his mate is Teena. This one was much more action packed than the first three books. There are chases, plane crashes and more kidnappings. It was actually a fun read and perhaps one of my favourites of the series (although book one will always be the most hilarious). A must read for fans of this series and of Langlais.

When spending time with his lady Dimitri takes it very seriously, "he offered a glare to anyone else in the vicinity that might mar his enjoyment. Dmitri was dancing with his lady, and no one had better interrupt." Dimitri is one cocky, confident man, “I assure you, I have more than enough size to please you, little kitten. And my oral skills are to scream for.” I fell in love with Dimitri and his unconventional ways.

This is the 4th book in the series. While book one was something of a disappointment, I found book two and book three rather charming. But I was awfully leery about how Langlais would redeem this particular hero, in my eyes.

Dimitri ended up being kind of adorable. And while he didn’t always have the best of intentions, even when he did it ended up in trouble. Poor Teena, trouble seems to find her no matter how circumspect she tries to be, fortunately for her Dimitri is more than happy to love every troublesome inch of her. After being beaten by her father, plane hijacked, shot at, plane crashed, tobogganing down the mountain, landing on a frozen lake that doesn’t hold (all things that are sadly in line with other events in Teena’s life), only a man as besotted as Dimitri could proudly declare “I think my new wife is good luck.”.

This was a romp, and it was funny watching the virgin take a turn at being predatory toward the formerly suave but stalkerish manwhore who turned rather nervous over the idea of an untouched bride. It is ridiculously cute, and the hijinks were just the icing on the cake.

This was the perfect ending for the series. I seriously recommend it. As for the series as a whole, I say skip the first book. I don’t think you need it to get into the rest of the series, it doesn’t add anything and I think it can detract. But the rest of the series is serious fun.

I loved this story. It is part of a series, and it is more fun to read after reading the other stories, but it could be read standalone.
The hero is a Russian siberian tiger shifter. He had previously decided to marry a lion shifter that he was very attracted to. He had kidnapped her and tried to force her to marry him, but she escaped and found her true mate in the last story. Because they are nice, the tiger shifter was invited to the wedding, where he meets the lady lion's twin sister and realizes she is his true mate. She wonders the same thing, but doesn't get much time to talk to him, because the family is "protecting" her.
These two sisters are both great. They have the knicknames of "catastrophe" and "trouble" because bad luck seems to follow them. The heroine of this story is "trouble"--for example, walking down the aisle as her sisters Maid of Honor, she trips, breaks her heel, and has to walk the rest of the way carrying her shoes.
The great thing about the tiger shifter is that he likes trouble as much as he likes the lady lion called "trouble." It's a good thing, because there is a lot of excitement and some crazy hi-jinks.

What's not to love with one of Eve's books! This was another great instalment in the series and the last, while it began with the original pride it then took us off to the wilds of Russia.
Dmitri was so arrogant it was hilarious and you couldn't help but love him. I did have my doubts from the snippets we saw of him previously that I wouldn't like him but that wasn't the case at all thankfully. Teena was much more sedate compared to her sister, which was nice, but no less accident prone or a magnet for trouble. I liked Teena and felt that she handled the whole 'he had interest in my sister first' thing really well and it wasn't an issues that was too huge. It was dealt with delicately, because who wants to be known as the second choice? Thankfully the whole mates thing took care of that.
Loved all the mishaps and adventure a great end to the series!

I was not a big fan of this book.
Wile I liked the dialogue at times I am not sure what to make of the story.

Dmitri realized that following Meena (stalking her) was lead straight to his mate, her sister Teena.
He pursued, kidnapped and married Teena. Teena was attracted to Dmitri and decided to stay married to him.
Now here is where my problem with this book starts. Eve Langlais managed to make me like Dmitri with his crazy ways but for me his whole attitude was exaggerated and only in the last chapter the two characters came together as a couple.
It was not enough for me. Jumping from one bad luck to another Teena would put to shame Calamity Jane and that was not that funny.
I am a bit disappointed at the end of the series because I don't find the same care for the plot line or the existence of it like in the previous series (Kodiak Point and United Furry).

I do believe Ms. Langlais saved the best for last!! Dimitri and Teena's story is my fav of the Lion's Pride series. Teena has been plagued with bad luck until she meets Dimitri, who sees her "quirks" as a bonus. I loved the banter between the characters, and Dimitri...sigh...he makes me want to RAWR!! I can't recommend this series enough!!

Fav quotes:

"I assure you, I have more than enough size to please you, little kitten. And my oral skills are to scream for."

"Are you crazy?"
"Only one sixteenth from my mother's side. Although there apparently might be some psychosis on my father's."

I loved this book! This may be my favorite in the series. I really hope Langlais decides to continue the series, I would love to see Sasha and Luna get books. I liked Teena, (a lot more than Meena (her twin, When An Omega Snaps)). Teena was sassy, without being in your face. She was funny, gentle, yet strong, and relatable. I adored Dmitri! He was hilarious! He made arrogance utterly charming. He was protective and possessive. He was tender and caring. Brave and strong. I laughed out loud repeatedly while reading this book, enough so that my dog thought something was wrong with me (even though me laughing at books is nothing new in her world. Haha!). I very highly recommend. <3

“You’d kill them?” she squeaked.
He rolled his eyes. “Well of course I would if they tried to take you from me. You are mine now.”

With much yawning and stretching, Dmitri roused from his drug-induced slumber. At least his tiger did, and it seemed determined to make the man wake too.
Ever experienced the mental version of a bitch slap by big, hairy paws? It proved abrupt, but it also worked.
He seemed to be moving, just not using his own two feet.
A pair of large men carried him, actually more like dragged, one to each arm.
His eyes refused to stay open, the effects of the drugs lingering.
In between blinks he caught sight of stone, more stone, oh and he thought he smelled a rat. The human kind, not the squeaky.
Abruptly, the moving stopped. The fellows gripping him tossed him forward.
The hard floor almost smashed his nose, but instinct had him throwing out his hands and hitting the surface with his palms instead of his face. Rude.
Did those who manhandled him not know who he was? I should tell them.
As soon as he managed to shrug this lethargic slumber.
No wonder Teena seemed a touch annoyed at his repeated use of narcotics.
The sensation of not being in control well and truly sucked.
No more drugging my wife. Unless it was with kisses.

The limo ride to the airport was a quiet one. She sat across from him, watching as he made calls, speaking in Russian, the rolling cadence of the foreign words a sensual delight.
Was he the type to purr Russian endearments in her ear?
Maybe one day she’d find out.
When he hung up, she asked, “That sounded pretty serious. Problems?”
“Nothing unusual. Just my sister and mother, being brought up to speed on our current situation.”
“Are they upset that you married me without them there?”
“I am their lord. It does not matter.”
She arched a brow at his arrogant statement.
He laughed. “Okay, I heard a long spiel about how I was an ungrateful son robbing a mother of her chance to throw a lavish wedding and show those other clan upstarts how royalty weds. Whereas, my sister said I was a boorish ass who needed to get clubbed over the head for acting like a Neanderthal.”

She couldn’t help a smile. Despite his complaints, she could hear the fondness in his voice.
“You sound close to your family. Do you live with them?”
A grimace twisted his lips. “Yes. But I assure you my home is quite large. While they are situated in the east wing, we have the entire west wing to ourselves.”
“Wings? Just how large is this place?”
He gave a negligent wave of his hand.
“The size doesn’t matter.”
The imp in her, the one that had obviously heard her sister one too many times, retorted, “Funny, I was always told by the girls that it’s all about the size. The bigger, the better.”
While her own words didn’t make her blush, his reply did.
“I assure you, I have more than enough size to please you, little kitten. And my oral skills are to scream for.”

“One thing I do not understand is, if you intentionally set out to find me, what happened to my sister and mother? Where are they?”
“Last I saw them, they were tracking me with some kind of close-range GPS device that I stashed in my pants. They’re part of my rescue plan. They shouldn’t be far behind. Soon you’ll be free again.”
He banged his head on the bars he gripped, muttering, “No. No. No. This cannot be happening. If they rescue me, I shall never hear the end of it. This is a disaster.”
“I’m sure they won’t tease you. I mean it’s not your fault you got captured by humans. There were a lot of them. And they had guns.”
Oh way to deepen his shame. “No. I will not have it.” He spoke the words low. “I will save myself dammit!” he yelled.
“You know, Daddy usually makes the walls tremble when he’s really mad.”
Okay, so he needed to crank up the rage a little bit. Being compared to her father? And coming up short? Yeah, that fired the adrenaline up a notch.
He felt the edge of the door, seeking a weakness.
Teena kept chatting. “You’ll be glad to know I’m still a virgin. When the men talked about testing the merchandise, I told them I was saving myself for my husband.”
“They talked about touching you?” Ooh, that made him boil.
“Talked yes, acted no. Once the head honcho guy heard I was a virgin, he said it would fetch a higher price.”
The guy wanted to sell his woman?
For sex?
Dmitri huffed and puffed. His eyes narrowed, and he stared at the wall in his way.
“Then… oh dear. Something just moved in the corner. Dear god. No. No. No!”
Teena began to scream. And scream. And scream.
The terror high-pitched and unacceptable.
With a roar, Dmitri ran at the mortared stone wall, shoulder first, rage his shield, and his body the wrecking ball.
Crack. Crumble. Hack.
Stupid dust lifted as the old stonework shattered at the impact, and still Teena screamed, the sound fueling his protective instincts.
Forget looking for a key or picking the lock. He shoved at the wall of her cell. He didn’t have the same momentum in the tight hall. He threw himself at it once. Twice. The third time, stone shifted— the ancient masonry an easier task to break than solid steel— and he stumbled over the uneven debris right into Teena’s cell.
“Where is it? Where is the monster?” Surely something horrendous threatened her.
Wide-eyed and backed against the wall, Teena gaped at him, alone and unhurt. “Did you just bulldoze a wall?” she asked.
“Yes.” He frowned. “You were just screaming. Why were you screaming?”
“Spider.”
His turn to blink at her stupidly. “Spider? I don’t understand.”
“There was a big one. In here. With me.”
“You were screaming because of a spider?”
“Well, yeah. It was big. And hairy,” she confided with a shudder. “But you killed it when you came crashing through the wall. A big rock fell on it. My hero.”
Some men might have stalked away in disgust. Others would have mocked her for her fear. Dmitri on the other hand? He beamed.
She called him her hero.
He’d kill a spider every day if she kept thinking that way.
“Come, little kitten. Let us escape from this dungeon,” he said with a flourish of his hands.
“Why not just wait for reinforcements?”
Wait for help? “Never.” With that exclamation, he swept her into his arms, whirled back to the opening he’d made and realized they both wouldn’t fit. He set her down, and once they’d both squeezed through, he swept her back into his arms.
A giggle burst from her. “Dmitri, what are you doing? I can walk.”
“I am rescuing you, the proper way. The—”
“Russian way.” She laughed. “Very well. Let’s go.”

In mere moments, the room had only two felines standing.
Bodies littered the floor, some groaning, most not.
The faint yells of a couple that fled sifted back to them.
His golden lioness flicked her tail and peered at the door.
He dipped his own head and swept a paw, gesturing, “After you.”
On second thought, he didn’t want her to face possible harm. He’d go first.
He slapped down her tail and pinned it. Over her shoulder she shot him an amber-eyed glare and a growl.
Releasing her tail, he swatted her furry butt then trotted past her.
Whack.
She swatted his ass.
He flicked his tail in acknowledgement of her compliment.
Of course she admired his fine form, even when he wore his tiger, his butt was awesome.

“I think we should perhaps vacate the plane,” he said.
The crack notwithstanding, the smell of smoke hadn’t diminished, and where there was smoke, everyone knew there was fire.
The heat from a blaze would not aid their situation. Melted ice was only one of their possible problems.
Despite his usual optimism, Dmitri was a touch concerned about what would happen if any flames managed to reach some of the fuel.
Dmitri enjoyed watching fireworks, not becoming part of them.
“Exit the plane? Gee, why didn’t I think of that?” she grumbled as she unclipped her belt.
She stood then froze as a groan made the plane tremble. “Is this a not-so-subtle way of your country telling me I need to lose weight?”
“Never. You are perfect as you are. However, you must fish for compliments later, little kitten. I believe speed is called for.”
“What about you? Why haven’t you unbuckled?”
“Fear not, wife, I shall follow you. But I think it best if we don’t apply more weight than needed at one time, as we don’t know what part of the plane is most at risk of breaking the ice.”
For a moment, she hesitated, peering at the door, the windshield, then him.
She took a step toward the door, stopped and whirled, bending to press a quick kiss to his lips.
Then she fled, the lingering warmth of the embrace she gave him making him smile foolishly.
As if to taunt him, the plane shuddered.
“Behave,” he told it in Russian. “It is not my time to die.”
Not when he had yet to taste the nubile delights of his wife.

“Come here,” she demanded.
Who was this bold Teena? This brazen temptress who called to him?
Did he hear her thoughts? Because he answered.
“You are mine.”
Possession could be a sexy thing.

* You do not need to read all the previous books, just third entry as there is some introduction in that for this book.

Dmitri is a Russian mobster who always gets what he wants. But since his ex-fiance has ditched his awesomeness for another man, he needs a new target. He finds it in Teena, Meena's twin sister. So he drugs her, kidnaps her and marries her without consent. But in his escape to Russia, his plane gets hijacked and threatened by enemies, he finds out Teena might just be the mate he always wished for.

Pro's:
+ What an action packed story. From the beginning, there is never a quiet moment. Teena and Dmitri face many challenges together and even some nasty little hunters cannot seem to stop them. There is a scene in a crashing plane that is awesome, part heroics part pure clumsiness, that was so hilarious I couldn't stop laughing.
+ There is so much snark, wittiness and arrogance in this story that it is impossible to take it serious. And just that fact makes this story very light and easy to read. I got through it in an evening and I don't regret reading it so fast.

Con's:
- Dmitri's attitude towards women, the kidnapping and caveman like behaviour didn't make him very liked in my opinion. He has such a high regard of himself, often not in like with his behaviour. I wished Teena did get another man, one who is not such an asshole.

Light and easy story to read, it didn't take much time to finish at all. For me, this book got such a low score because Dmitri was an asshole and never in the story could he fully make up for it. There are loads of good things in this book, but just that one things dragged it down a lot for me. Will definitely read the next story, I cannot wait to see what the pride will be up to next.

Again, a well-written story with mostly likable characters. Series continues to be laugh-out-loud funny. Unfortunately, for me, not only did the story move too fast, the characters just jumped into a relationship based on the biological/physiological connection without actually connecting to each other. Implausible and not attractive for me.

Neither lead character worked for me. Heroine is second choice (even though she was his mate). Feels second to her larger-than-life sister and accepts being kidnapped by a shifter Russian mob Prince as an adventure. After her "mate" has already kidnapped her sister for his "breeding" idea. As for our hero, I love to hate him. The problem with having a criminal as your hero, one willing to kill whoever whenever necessary, do whatever they want without real repercussions, would have married heroine's sister if she hadn't escaped. Wouldn't have mattered if they didn't suit because of his overall plan. Kills any kind of romance as or real chance for happiness long term when hero lost his prize, chases her to America to take her back to Russia, and then "oops" discovers she has a sister, and, "Well, damn (and oh so convenient), the sister's my mate."

Sadly, this will probably be the last book I read in this series. I love Eve Langlais' work. Just not this particular series.
