Jacqui Karston has lost - her husband, her daughter, her mother. Now, she lives life with a purpose, playing it safe and leaving chance in the past. Her life is stable, predictable, that is until Rutherford Construction opens up an office in Biloxi.
Morgan Brewer, however, believes that unless you roll the dice, you'll never achieve that big payoff. He lives his life on the edge, making the most of every opportunity that comes his way, taking every gamble he can and wasting his winnings. That is until his roll of the dice brings him across Jacqui's path.
Can Morgan stop taking chances long enough to give Jacqui her chance? Does Jacqui even want a chance? Or does she just want to be left alone to grieve?
Robbie Cox out done himself while writing the second book in his Rutherford series, Roll the Dice. The story perfectly ties into the first book Losing Faith while also standing on its own. The author has the uncanny ability to describe each scenario in a manner that makes it seem like you are sitting in the exact room or location as his characters. This book has it all from drama to erotica. It is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. But there is one thing for sure, reading this book is no Roll the Dice gamble. IT IS A SURE THING
I hope you all enjoy this book as much as I did, give it a read you will not be disappointed, what can I say this had me hooked from the first chapter its one of those books you have to keep reading because you need to know what happens next

Robbie has once again written a wonderful story that engulfs your emotions from the very beginning. Granted I have never lost someone close to me like Jacqui has, but the emotions that Robbie put into the pages you feel as if you are going thru everything with her. If you read this book and don't feel like crying you aren't really reading. The way he describes what Jacqui is going through we her thoughts and fears you find yourself feeling them so much you start crying right along with her.
Then if your not crying along with Jacqui you find yourself laughing so hard as you listen to her father fight back to try to gain back a little independence that Jacqui is afraid to give him because she is afraid to lose him. How many people can lose in one lifetime and kept their sanity. I will admit though Bert was my favorite in this book and reading this book you will learn why.
Then Robbie cannot help but bring in a man whore by the name of Morgan. You learn a little about him in the first book, but you get to get involved in his life and watch how a man that finds something he truly wants changed before your eyes when he finds that right woman. But you must read to learn if the man whore can truly change his spots for the better.
You will feel all the pain and loss that Jacqui feels when she loses her loved ones. She decides it is best to play it safe with no big gambles. Morgan believes that you have to take chances to get places in this world. Can she start taking chances when she meets Morgan? Can Morgan learn that playing it safe can be just as rewarding as taking chances?

1st time reader, long time follower. This was a solidly written book. Just enough angst both individually and as a couple, good steam/hot scenes without going overboard. Well rounded story, with good supporting side lines. I really liked this book and look forward to reading more.
I really enjoy reading this series. It was good to see how Morgan and Jacqui's relationship got started since I read the last book in the series before this one.
This story, Roll the Dice is book #2 in the Rutherford series. Where book one was fast and scorching hot and so full of passion, Roll the Dice seems to slow down a bit. This book is just as passionate and hot in places, but RC Wynne focuses on the story. The story of Morgan Brewer, a hot blooded construction manager with a well earned man whore reputation, and Jacqui Karston a rich elitist with stick up her butt. These two come from two completely different worlds and butt heads upon first meeting. She assumes that he is just a construction site skank that has tricked her into hiring the Company that he works for. He sees her for the snob and class conscious rich person that she is. Neither knows the background or story of the other, but Morgan truly wants to find out what makes Jacquie behave the way that she does. After a bumpy start , they both begin to discover the true other person. I really enjoyed the story of this one and the pace. It gave so many feelings , twists and turns and glimpses into other side characters , that you didn't want to put the book down. It was a terrific story that makes a person look deep and reecy on their own life. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. The heat, the sweet, the polyamory, mf, fmf,ff, it hits on a little bit of everything and continues the story from Losing Faith. I really enjoyed this one!
and by far this is my favorite. I actually miss Jacqui and Morgan now that ...
Wow!!!! I really wish that I could give this book another star. I have read all of this author's books, and by far this is my favorite. I actually miss Jacqui and Morgan now that I am finished with this book....(If I know my new favorite author. There is more to come)
Roll The Dice is set in my home town and written about the emotions that one goes through when losing a part of themselves and not knowing how to get back to becoming a whole person again. Jacqui is a strong woman that does so much for her family and community , but has built a buffer between her and real life...in her mind this is the only way to decrease the chance of getting hurt again.
Morgan is a man that thinks life is easy going and that "growing up" is something that he will get around to eventually. But, when he meets Jacqui, his "eventually", sneaks up on him and grabs his heart and he decides to Roll The Dice.
I would recommend this book to anyone ........
I know great things are coming from this author....Stay well my friend til we meet in a book again......
Another great read by Robbie Cox. We see right off that Jacqui is struggling with survivor’s guilt from the tragic accident that happens to her family. Watching the story evolve from being a workaholic to finding some peace for herself kept me intrigued with the book. Several heart tugging scenes that will make you want to hug her tight. On the flip side, there is a lot of humor and great character building in Roll the Dice. You will chuckle, giggle, and blush – all part of a great read! I liked getting the insight and pieces that followed up behind Losing Faith. They are separate reads but having the characters flow over into this book was a nice touch. I am looking forward to the rest of The Rutherford Series.
Well, I have to say that Robbie Cox has done it again. I absolutely loved this story! I am though, having an internal struggle in deciding if I liked book one, Losing Faith, or this one better. In this second book of the Rutherford series, we find Morgan going to the Biloxi area to do some work and becomes intrigued with the woman who hired Rutherford Construction, Jackie. Jackie, seeming like a major ice queen, wants nothing to do with Morgan. This author has you feeling the emotions and internal struggles that the characters feel. This is a "I can't put this down" read. I highly recommend reading Losing Faith followed by this book. It's a great series thus far.
This was a great book! Would totally recommend it to anyone who likes romance novels. It was really nice to be able to read what was going on in the character's heads too. Remember... communication is the key to any relationship! I only wish Robbie had written a little more. I wanna know what happens after the ending lol. I could have used a "5 years later" epilogue for sure. STILL AWESOME THOUGH!
This book takes a look at continuing to rebuild a city after Hurricane Katrina hit, as well as rebuilding lives and taking chances on new relationships...Robbie did a wonderful job looking into the heartbreak and despair felt when losing ones close to you, and how to open yourself back up to let new opportunities come in. A perfect blend of characters and that little bit of romantic tension that leaves you wanting more. Highly recommend this book!
Once I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. Jacqui and Morgan are great characters. The book takes place in about a month span and you get to know these characters really well. You get to know their back story, their families, what makes them who they are at the core. This book has great secondary characters that all could have their own books because they are interesting and you want to know more about what makes them the way they are.
This book is about new beginnings. It's about a woman named Jacqui and her journey in her grief and her new beginning. She later her husband and young daughter in a plane crash. She blamed herself and grieved for 2 years. All she did was work. Until she met someone who helped her live again. I absolutely loved this book.
