June 2020 reread: Jiwoon's comment about Soohan's eyes never fails to make me smile. That is the right reason to want to kiss him. I never managed to peg the sexuality of these characters. I don't think either of them is anything as simple as gay or at least at this point there is an ambiguity to it. Jiwoon is coded bi but it could be misconstrued, Soohan almost feels like an aspec (which I do project A LOT). This series does some of the best backgrounds reveal though, through rumours and overheard conversations and things even the main characters don't know.
June 2019 reread: The leading men in this manga are so broken, deserve nice things and hugs. The writing is great though. You can feel there is going to be a lot of pain involved even without knowing what is coming.
Life is shit, but someone always has it worse. He must have led a tough life. Know any other guys that grew up to be a real killer like that punk? So they say life doesn't turn out they way you want, man, that kid has led an extremely fucked-up life. - Manager
Intense is the kind of work that grabs me and makes me just want to keep reading. The silent protagonist remains a brilliant idea, though it is still unclear whether his silence is by choice or not. This volume gives some idea of the characters ages and their stories. These are young guys who grew up hard and became dangerous wildcards. I do find myself trying to put the pieces together trying to figure out what is coming but I guess time will tell.
This story is good with the anticipation and questions. I'm hoping it's good with the answers.
