Emma grew up and lived in London, before falling in love and moving to Wales to marry her own hero. Emma now lives with her husband, 4 children, and many animals a few miles outside of a small Welsh market town. She can often be found in rivers attempting to control two overexcited chocolate labradors.

Seven charming romances are currently available from the Amazon bestselling authoress:

Number 1 Australian kindle bestseller, 'His Secret Daughter', is the heart-rending story of Iris, a woman falling in love with the father of her child. The only problem is she never told him they had a daughter.

The beautiful landscape around her home gave Emma the inspiration for 'The Green Hills of Home', a tale of love and duty in which country girl Gwen struggles to save her family home and avoid her feelings for her handsome, suave new boss. Is he quite all he seems?

'Snowed in for her Wedding Day' is a novella picking up Gwen's story as her wedding day approaches, but with terrible weather, and an absent groom, will she have the happy ending she so deserves?

'Just Desserts' is a novella about confused chef Leah, who's falling for her handsome French co-worker Jean-Claude, but meant to be marrying to Dan in just a few weeks! Who will she choose?

'Her Perfect Hero' was released in July 2015 as 'I Need a Hero', it's a lovely comic romantic read for anyone who's ever searched for Mr Right (and failed to find him!). Despair of Bronte, a romance writer, incapable of spotting when the perfect man is right next door! Full of horses, country houses and dentists, just beware of the foul-tempered cat Mr Darcy!

'Starstruck', proves that falling in love with a rock star is harder than you'd think! When newly divorced Kate finds school friend, now super famous rock star Joseph Wild, on her doorstep, her whole quiet, ordinary life is thrown into disarray. Is the attraction between them enough to make up for all the hurdles they have to cross if they want to be together?

Latest release, 'Her Sister's Baby' is a beautiful and emotional story about grief, the promises we make and finding love in the most unexpected of places.

Emma likes (in no particular order): cake, books, Cary Grant films, prosecco, chocolate, guinea pigs, knitting, quilting and happily ever afters!

First things first: with a cover like that, who wouldn't want to read this book? Maybe the title can be read as "neen" instead of "need", but apart from that? It's eye-catching, colourful, fun and it already gives the hint of the fairy tale theme that's prominent throughout the book.
Not that you should take the fairy tale theme literally. I Need A Hero is a fun, contemporary romance with a wonderful heroine, struggling to find the balance between finding "prince charming" and "mister right". Is the man of her dreams truly the man she wants to be with? Or maybe reality is even better than fantasy? Will it be Hugh Grant or Collin Firth, for Bridget Jones?
Bronte is fun and witty and the story itself is at times simply hilarious. The perfect romantic comedy. I had a great time reading this book. It's romantic and uplifting and it had me laughing out loud.

Bronte is waiting for perfect. So when Ryan, who doesn't meet her definition of perfect moves in next door, she immediately consigns him to the friend-zone. And despite his obvious interest and his being a pretty damned nice guy, she continues to gently turn him down throughout the book.

When she meets Sebastian she thinks she's finally met the perfect guy. It's like he stepped out of the pages of one of the romance books she writes, but honestly he's a complete douche. Yet she continues to make allowances for him despite his being an ass-hat.

Naturally she finally realises that Ryan is perfect but as I write this review with a chapter to go and the resolution still up in the air I kind of hope he's chosen the other woman. He's honestly too good for her. I mean she takes stomping the hearts of good men into the mud to dizzying heights. I really didn't like her much.

Adding to my issues with the book is the narrative style. Emma Bennet doesn't seem to use enough pronouns. At the very least in the beginning. I stopped noticing it after about 20% so she either started using them or I had acclimatised to her narrative style.

There are definitely good things in this book. The author writes scenes brilliantly, but somehow in stitching those scenes into a story it loses a little of the brilliance and ends up being just OK.

Many thanks to Joffe Books and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC

This was a cute book. A bit short. 197 pages or thereabouts. Not a huge amount of comedy.

Brontë was likeable but only to an extent. She really tested my limits. Particularly because she seemed to have no backbone in her relationships but presents as someone a bit stronger in her thoughts and perspective which is shown to the reader.

I feel we were deceived. I also feel we needed more of her story… Where were Bronte’s parents? Family, siblings? What did she do before becoming an author? As a young woman? I also didn’t like instances where it said “Bronte and Ryan (the other potential love interest) talked about…” I would have preferred reading their actual dialogue because it would have helped me connect to them. Also just naturally more interesting.

The ending was the final nail in the coffin for me because all of a sudden, Ryan reads like a corny, swooning man who wouldn’t be out of place in a Shakespearean play. It was rushed and uncharacteristic of the characters.

I’m over it.

Bronte lives in a gorgeous remote cottage, she's used to the peace and quiet. Bronte is a successful romance author and while she writes about gorgeous men she's still looking for her own prince charming. She's been hurt in the past and now she doesn't want to date anyone who isn't like the heroes of her novels. Her new neigbor Ryan is a wonderful, kind man and they're getting along brilliantly. He's also good looking. Bronte likes him, but she just wants to be friends. He can't be the one, but she's met someone who can be. When she meets Sebastian she thinks she's found the man of her dreams. He's a Lord, he lives in a mansion, he plays polo and he's extremely handsome. He's exactly like the heroes in Brontes novels and he inspires her to write something great. She knows Sebastian is the one, he has to be. Only why is it so hard to talk to him and why doesn't she have a better time when he's around?

I Need A Hero is a wonderful romantic story. Bronte knows what she wants, only she's a bit clueless in the how to get it area. I felt so frustrated with her sometimes. That meant I was completely engrossed in the story. I wanted to step in and give her a good shake from time to time. I'm always pleasantly surprised when I feel so strongly about something. Ryan is a good friend and reading about him kept putting a smile on my face. He's such a kind and lovely man, the dream of every woman, except Bronte. He's a dentist and he has red hair, so he isn't ideal romance novel material. I loved that Emma Bennet made him like that.

I Need A Hero reads a bit like a fairytale and I think Emma Bennet has done a great job shaping her characters to fit in with the style. This formula works very well for her. The setting is perfect, the main characters all have strong personalities and there's a lot of subtle humor in the story. If you're looking for something light and romantic this is definitely a book you will like. It's entertaining, it's sweet and it's fabulous happy reading material.

I Need a Hero is the story of author Bronte Huntington who, after a bad relationship, decides she will only date someone if he is her idea of the perfect man. When Ryan moves into the neglected house next door she offers to help him out with cleaning the place as she is so pleased to finally see it being lived in. Despite them getting on brilliantly and having plenty of common interests she is convinced he is not for her as he doesn't fit her picture of the perfect man. One night while she upset she walks off into the nearby wood. After she falls and is injured she is rescued by Sebastian who she believes is perfect for her and they start dating. Whether she is correct about Sebastian being the one for her is something that can only be found out from reading the book, to say more here would be spoiling the story.

This was a lovely, light read which I enjoyed immensely and read in a few hours. The characters were well written and although the plot was a little predictable, for me this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. The descriptions of the characters homes, the local pub and the surrounding area were really good and made me feel like I was there watching everything unfold. This is the sort of book you read with tea or hot chocolate on a miserable day. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Thanks to Netgalley for letting me have a copy of this book.

This was a light, quick and very entertaining read. Bronte, a romantic novelist, is holding out for Mr Right who will be just like the heroes in the novels she writes. When Ryan, a red haired dentist moves in next door, she immediately discounts a possible relationship with him. After all, whoever heard of a dentist being the hero! Now Sebastian, the son of the Lord of the nearby manor, clearly he's much more hero material. The trouble is that he's a bit dull and self-absorbed and he and Bronte don't seem to have much in common. She gets on really well with Ryan and values his friendship. There's an obvious attraction and bit electricity between them but she doesn't think he is the one. To the reader, it's clear where the real relationship lies but will Bronte see it?

I really liked all the references to classic literature in this from Bronte's name, to her cat Mr Darcy and Sebastian riding up on a horse to rescue her just like Willoughby in Sense and Sensibility. In fact, there were definite echoes of that story in this book. Bronte's high expectation of her perfect relationship reminded me of an article I read recently discussing whether romantic novels gave women unrealistic ideals when considering a relationship.

There was a part of the novel which, when I read it, I thought described Emma Bennet's books perfectly: "she was good at what she did...people enjoyed them...they were light and warm....fun, full of life, humour and more than anything, love - love, the oldest and best story of them all." I would agree: this is a lively, warm and funny book, perfect when you want to read a sweet romance.

This book grabbed my attention for a variety of reasons. First, the author's name alludes to Jane Austen's work, and she includes references to other Jane-isms in the text. There's Mr. Darcy, the heroine's cat, and Lord Sebastian Fairfax, one of the men that is a contender for her heart. Even the heroine's name, Bronte, alludes to other famous authoresses. Second, the cover of the book also captured my attention. There is the outline of a carriage, and the positioning of the people on the cover hinted a connection to historicals and regencies. Finally, I have seen another of Emma Bennet's books on the Amazon list for inspirational literature, although I have not read any of her work before reading, I Need a Hero. When I saw the book on Net Galley offerings, I decided to bite.

Despite all its literary allusions and cover, I Need a Hero, actually takes place in contemporary times. Bronte Huntington, a romance writer, has friend zoned her neighbour, Ryan Murphy, who Bronte perceives as average and uninteresting. Instead, her romantic attentions have been arrested by Sebastian Fairfax, a bona fide member of the nobility, who rescues her in a similar fashion to Mr. Willoughby's rescue of Marianne from Sense and Sensibility. He rescues her by horseback (he was riding on his property) after she tumbles down a hill and injures her foot. Sebastian is dark and mysterious, like the romantic heroes that Bronte writes about. In fact, he becomes the inspiration for the hero in the novel that she is currently working on.

Her non-Sebastian time is spent with Ryan, who wants to be more than friends with Bronte, but who can't compete with Sebastian. As Bronte spends time with both men, she discovers that Sebastian is not quite the romantic hero that she thought him to be, and that Ryan is not as boring and average as she thought. However, she is stubborn, and is unwilling to give up her hopes for a relationship with Sebastian, even though Ryan is looking better and more attractive as the days go by. Who will Bronte choose? Will she end up with the self-centered Sebastian, whose social circle is reluctant to accept her, or with Ryan, who is thoughtful, warm, and reliable, and whose mother would love to have Bronte as a future daughter-in-law?

This novel is secular in nature and Bronte is a gal who has been around the block a few times. She had been burned in a previous relationship in which the man who she had lived with, and who she expected to marry, bailed on her when she expected to receive a marriage proposal. She had always known that he wasn't the person for her, but stuck it out nevertheless. After getting dumped, she decided that she wouldn't take on any guy who didn't meet her expectations of what a hero would look like, and Sebastian seems to fit the bill. Unfortunately, for poor Ryan, he does not; he's a bit on the short side, he has red hair, and he's a boring dentist. It becomes obvious who the superior choice is, but Bronte is a bit head strong, and ironically, continues to stick it out for another inappropriate candidate, even though she thinks she knows what a real hero looks like.

For readers who are interested in knowing, there are no sex scenes in this book. The heroine is pressured to have sex with one of the men, but she refuses him. Bronte also shares a bed for a night with the other man, but does not get physically intimate with him.

The writing style of this novel didn't quite work for me at certain points of the novel; it felt like it could have used more dialogue and I thought that things could have been shown more to the reader than having it explained through the prose. However, the plot, although predictable, was quite solid. I liked how the relationship developed between Bronte and her final choice for a hero. It was cute how this choice also was reflected in the direction of the novel that Bronte is writing.

Reviewed on Fiction Vixen Book Reviews: http://fictionvixen.com/review-need-h...

PREMISE
Bronte, our heroine, is a romance writer who lives in the countryside, not far outside of London. Due to a bad relationship in the past, she has decided that she will not date whatever-guy-may-come-along, but rather only one that meets her specifications of what makes a Romance Hero. When sweet, good-looking Irishman Ryan moves in next door, she’s happy to have a new friend, but no way would she consider dating him—despite his clear interest—because Romance Hero he is not. I mean, whoever heard of a Romance Hero who was a dentist?

Instead, Bronte gets swept off her feet by Sebastian, the son of a lord who lives part-time in London, part-time in the huge estate house nearby. Now HE is hero material—brawny, tall, titled, etc. And let’s not forget their first encounter: she sprains her ankle and is rescued by beautiful Sebastian who is riding his horse nearby.

However, as they begin dating (if you can call it that) and the more they talk (or the more he talks, since she can’t get a word in edgewise), she realizes he’s not quite the hero she thought he was. Could it be (::gasp::), that her hero was right in front of her this whole time?!

THOUGHTS
As you can tell from the rating (and the mild sarcasm above), I did not love this book. Far from it, actually; I couldn’t wait until it was done! My main problem was Bronte. She was so annoying! So silly, superficial, and straight-up dumb sometimes.

I’m sorry, but even though Sebastian is glaringly egotistical, doesn’t care one iota to know about you or your life, still lives with (and off) his parents, and whose only activity and seemingly-sole-purpose-for-existing is playing polo, he’s just perfect because … why?? Oh, that’s right—he’s titled, hot, and pretty rich: most definitely the only requirements for the Perfect Man. Or at least, that’s what Bronte thinks most women want in a guy (which I actually kind of found offensive, since she specifically says this about romance readers):

Surely her new hero was the archetype of what every woman wanted: confident, commanding, handsome and extremely wealthy. It’s what sold books, and what her readers went to bed dreaming about, why wouldn’t her heroine want him?

Ryan is SO sweet and thoughtful, he and Bronte have a great deal in common, she loves his company, there’s attraction and chemistry between them, but she can’t go in that direction why? Because he’s a dentist. And not as tall, hunky, or rich as Sebastian. He’s also a dentist. Plus he has red hair that’s not always perfectly coiffed. Oh, and did I mention he’s a dentist?

When you can’t care about the heroine—or even worse, you actively dislike her—there’s no real coming back. Unfortunately, that was the case here. I think Bennett has the potential to turn out a good story, because I enjoyed Ryan and Bronte’s friend Camille, but I couldn’t get past Bronte’s shallowness or Sebastian’s blandness. I don’t understand why Ryan was so into her or so persistent; I personally thought he deserved WAY better.

Favorite Quote
“Maybe your hero isn’t right for your heroine,” Ryan commented quietly.
“But he’s perfect!” Bronte said without pausing for thought.
“Maybe he’s not perfect for her,” Ryan replied.

I received a copy of this via NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review.

This is a charming and sweet romance that will have you under its spell in no time! The main character, Bronte, lives in BlackBerry Cottage with her black cat, Mr Darcy (of course!) and has sworn off dating until the perfect man comes along after previous heartbreak.

Her life as a writer has her mainly living a solitary life but when someone moves into the cottage next door, a dentist called Ryan, it throws her a little but soon becomes really good friends but she is unwilling to take it any further and you may find yourself screaming at the book at times as you may find it a little annoying that Bronte doesn't see what could be!! She soon has her head turned though by the dashing Sebastian who swoops in on a horse to rescue her one day - but maybe the perfect romantic hero isn't as perfect as she dreamed!

Some amusing characters and adventures along the way and this has a simple charm to it that will keep you turning the pages until the end!

Truly enjoyable read especially for those of us who love the classics like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. Would the fantasy we cling to really live up to what we dream of?

I have read a couple of Emma Bennets novels so far and I love the way she writes, very fluid and romantic. I knew from the beginning of this book there was going to be romance and to be honest I knew who with. That didn't matter though, I still enjoyed every minute of it.

Bronte lives at BlackBerry Cottage with her cat Mr Darcy. The cottage next door has been empty for some time. One night she notices the lights are on, Ryan is a dentist and the nephew of the woman who owns the cottage. Bronte doesn't find Ryan attractive, I mean he is a dentist, whenever was that attractive? But she does value his friendship and grows to enjoy having him next door.

Bronte writes about fairy tales, meeting a hero and living happily ever after. She wants that and hopes she will find her happy ever after. One day Bronte gets herself in trouble on some rocks and a dashing man comes to her rescue on a horse. Sebastian is perfect! Everything Bronte has ever wanted AND he is a lord of the manor in the village. Bronte cannot believe her luck!

This is such a sweet story, I love Ryan, he is loving, caring and a really good friend to Bronte. Camille, who is Bronte's best friend isn't in the book too much and I felt I didn't really get to know her until right at the very end. I think it would have been nice to know her better earlier on. For most of the book you just want to shake some sense into Bronte, her hero is right under her nose but she is just too stupid to see. Aiming for her ideal, when really they may not be right. I hated Sebastian, my hatred seemed to get stronger the further through the book I went and to be honest his parents aren't any better!

This story I am sure would make you think if you were single and maybe question what your interpretation is of a hero. Whether you may have one right under your nose but are looking else where.

I did enjoy this story and I would recommend it. I would like to thank the publisher for sending this in exchange for an honest review.

I Need a Hero is a lovely summer romance read written at a pace that moves along pleasantly. This enjoyable novel is a clean romance with some humour and even a cat with good taste in men.

Every woman wants a “knight in shining armor”, none more so than romance writer Bronte Huntington. She has sworn off dating until “my hero, the one who takes my breath away and changes my life forever” arrives.

I loved the characters in I Need a Hero. Bronte was so in love with the idea of love that she couldn’t even listen to her own heart. She really knew the answer all along though, because it came out in the novel that she wrote. Bronte’s best friend Camille was loyal and helpful. Ryan was the quintessential gentleman and an excellent next-door neighbour. He’s the kind of person I would choose for my hero. Sebastian was extremely handsome and the son of Lord and Lady Fairfax.

The twists and turns in this novel were excellent. I found it totally amazing how long it took Bronte to come to the conclusion for her life that she had resolved much earlier in her own novel. The question was “Was she too late?”

Although it was obvious to the reader who Bronte should choose, it was great fun to read this light-hearted novel to see what happened. What I liked was that the novel really pointed out that a hero doesn’t necessarily have to do huge “hero” things like save a life or rescue a “damsel in distress”. “Hero” things can be smaller things too like give someone a ride when their car breaks down or even just being there for them when they need a friend.

I gave this thoroughly satisfying and fun clean romance 5 stars out of 5. I would highly recommend it.

Thank you to the publishers for providing a copy via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. A positive opinion was not required. All thoughts are my own.

I love how relatable and down-to-earth this story is. Bronte Huntington (hote-toyte fancy name) is a young writer, who sometimes feels insecure about her writing, especially while reading with a ‘more literary group’ as she put it. She's waiting patiently for Mr. Right, and when he finally appears, he’s not a six foot tall block of pure muscle with predatory eyes ready to sexually devour her. Instead, he’s a five foot six ginger, bundled up in layers of clothing. And get this...he likes BOOKS!

Well sadly, Bronte doesn’t know what’s standing in front of her, so she completely ignores this man who is absolutely the one for her. Rather than get swept away by the incredibly nice and attentive ginger, Bronte decides to humor herself in a stale relationship between her and some handsome Lord she recently met. I get it, he’s rich and extremely hot, but he’s just not the one for her.

I have to admit, I was a little confused about the time era this story is supposed to take place. When Bronte recalls her ex-boyfriend, the lead guitarist of a washed up band, and top cheater of the century, it sounds present day, but then Bronte scurries away to a cottage in the woods and all of a sudden she has time-hopped into Thornfield Hall, getting rescued by Mr. Rochester while he gallivanting across the countryside on his horse.

I loved the character development of every character. From Sebastian’s grumpy parents, to Ryan’s awesome family. Bronte’s perfect best friend, and Sebastian’s clueless persona. They all fit so well together to form this story that I completely loved reading. I suspected right from the beginning who Bronte would end up with, but it was still very fun to read through her lousy choices and humorous situations she continued to get herself into each and every time she visited Lord Sebastian. I enjoyed the story so much that I will be looking to more works by Ms. Bennet.

I have had the pleasure of reading Emma Bennet’s book, “His Secret Daughter” and truly enjoyed it. In fact it has become one of my favorite re-reads! Because of enjoying this previous story, I was excited to read this newest book, “I Need A Hero”.
I immediately found that reading this story was completely different from the other. It seemed to me that Ms. Bennet’s style of writing changed which fascinated me with both wondering why and how the story would turn out. I can say I truly enjoyed this one just as much.

“I Need A Hero” is a story that we can all relate to in some fashion. We have all wished for something so much and worked toward that goal that we have in some form or another lost sight of what was in front of us. Bronte Huntington is a writer who has focused, dreamed and worked toward having that ultimate storybook hero sweep her off her feet in pure romance. When Ryan moves in next door, Bronte can’t see herself falling for him…after all he is a dentist. What is romantic in dentistry? Then enters her romantic saving by Sebastian Fairfax…. a Lord no less.

Ryan loves Bronte but fearing he has lost her to the title and wealth of a Lord he isn’t sure what to do knowing he can’t compete. When Ryan and Bronte’s best friend, Camille, become close Bronte is finally jolted in seeing what has always been in front of her eyes. Does she want to spend her life with Sebastian or Ryan? If it is Ryan, is she too late or has Ryan decided he wants Camille?

A wonderful story by Emma Bennet that is full of fun, but also some heartfelt emotion that we can all understand and sympathize with. I recommend this book along with her previous title, “His Secret Daughter”.

(3.5 Stars) This is a delightful, yet predictable, clean romance. Bronte is a romance writer and for all of her ideas, she sure can't seem to realize just where her true inspiration comes from. She has very high expectation, because of her books, and just won't settle for anything less. She has an ornery cat, Mr. Darcy, and I loved reading about his antics and the almost human-like way he had of conveying his opinions of people. Bronte goes to such lengths to impress people that it's humorous and I had quite a few chuckles over the predicaments she found herself in.

Ryan, a red haired Irish dentist, is a new neighbor, living in his aunt's house, and he doesn't fit Bronte's profile for the perfect man at all. So...they become good friends. I couldn't help but like him. Looks aren't always everything because Ryan's a really great guy and a true gentleman, unlike our next character.

Sebastian has it all--a title, money, and definitely good looks--yet he's kind of a jerk, even though he did rescue Bronte after an accident. I had fun reading about the dinner at his house and the food his "mummy" cooked. Ugh. He acts like he's all that, but he's really just a spoiled little boy.

The journey Bronte takes to realize who she really wants is definitely a fun one. The author is from the United Kingdom and I enjoyed reading phrases and words that aren't common to my area. I really felt immersed in the story because of that.

Content: mild romance (talk of sharing a bed with nothing inappropriate happening, very mild kissing); a few expletives; no violence or religious elements. Clean!

I need a hero is about a woman called Bronte who is trying so hard to love her rich 'boyfriend' but is totally missing the wonderful man next door who is perfect for her.
Well, I am not sure where to start really, I loved everything about this book, I got engrossed from the minute I started reading, and didn't put it down once.
I found Bronte to be quite likable, even though at times it did get a bit tedious with her naivety. I didn't like Sebastian, but I feel that the author wanted the reader to dislike him. My favourite character was Ryan, he was so hopelessly in love with Bronte, but he was very sweet. I loved the added bit about the cat not liking Sebastian.
I thought that the plot was quite cliche, however the author done a very good job of not feeling like it was. I would love a follow up book about what happens afterwards.
I loved the cover of this book, it really set the tone for the book.
There was a few times in the book where I laughed out loud. There was also other times where I wanted to scream at Bronte telling her to just tell Ryan how she feels.
Overall, I really did love this book, if you want a lovely romantic book I would recommend this one.

See full review at Shellyback books.

Set in the english countryside this is a nice and relaxing read but not what I'd expected based on the books cheerful cover and description. This is a modern story but also pure old fashioned romance, full of amusing cliches, understated passion and uncomplicated by sex.

Whilst I normally prefer a more full bodied story, I did enjoy this. I liked the original twist and tie in to the Bronte sisters; Bronte herself, Mr Darcy her cat, the lord of the manor and the manor itself. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed reminding me of Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen cosy murder mysteries series. The characters are also well developed for a book of this sort, and the hero whilst hot not the stereotype macho.

The link to Brontes own book was good too with despite the parallels our heroine staying naively blind to her own desires.

Nice recommended as holiday reading for old fashioned romantics.

My gosh, I hope none of my friends are ever as clueless as Bronte. I'm not even talking about the fact that Ryan was clearly interested in her from the beginning - although he did tell her straight up. I was concerned about her interest in Sebastian. He rarely paid any attention to her. Basically, he's a douche. She kept making excuses for him because he's the "perfect" guy. And was it odd that she was basically writing a story about her future and she didn’t even put the pieces together? I wish the author would've made Sebastian at least a little more of a potential suitor. The way it was written made it too predicable that Bronte and Ryan would end up together. And, of course, the cat is a good judge of character and chooses Ryan straightaway.

This book reminded me of Jane Austen style stories and, at first, I thought it was set in a similar time, but then the author mentioned email. This threw me off a little. It almost seemed out of place. Overall, the book was a pleasant read - not too difficult of a read, nothing glaringly annoying, but nothing particularly new and groundbreaking, either.

NOTE: I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley

I do love myself a good summer romance. You know, the one that you can finish in a day and put down with a smile on your face? I Need a Hero is exactly that. A lighthearted novel that will make your heart flutter a little.

I finished this book within a day and can only agree with everything that's been said about it. It really is the perfect summer read for any romance lover out there. Take it with you on holiday or to the pool, or beach but be sure to put on sunscreen as you might not move for several hours, not wanting to put the book down!

This is a 'candy-floss' novel - sweet, predictable and frothy, but the 'blurb' calls it a 'feel good' book and it certainly lives up to that description.

There was little, if any, depth or conflict, nothing to make me wonder what was going to happen next, but the writing was competent, well-edited* and the story flowed easily. Yes, a 'fun' read, with enough light humour to keep me entertained and amused. The sort of book to read on a beach. ;)

* One punctuation error I spotted: (Bronte is making mousses in her kitchen) The autumnal sky shone in the clear, pale blue sky. She enjoyed it's warmth on her skin....

I liked it. :)

I Need a Hero was simply charming. This novel takes the tale of love and presents it in a very simple, enjoyable form. Bronte, the heroine of the novel starts off seeking the what she deems to be the ultimate version of romance. Ryan, our hero, attempts to subtly challenge Bronte's idea of the perfect romance. I particularly enjoyed the picnic scene where Ryan woos Bronte. We should all find a Ryan! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this tale.

I received an advanced copy of this novel from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book is everything it claims to be and then some! I really, really enjoyed it. Bronte starts out as the cynical yet determined female who won't settle for less than what she believes she wants in a man. She was burned badly by a previous relationship and she won't deal with it again. Since she is a romance novel author, she gets it in her head that her prospective boyfriend had to have certain romance hero qualities. She soon finds out that not everything you read in fiction turns out the same way in reality. Very cute! I'd love to read another!

I enjoyed this book - a cozy romantic romp that takes place in England. We have a lady writer and her obsession with falling for and marrying 'the perfect man'. (Someone should have told her that was impossible)!!

She has a fun group of writers who meet in their favorite local pub to share their writings and constructive criticisms...a good place for her and her best friend to unwind and get great ideas and feedback. But how does one choose between two totally opposite men? Poor dear, what a dilemma!

This was a fun book to read - give it a try!

A nice feel good read. Nothing too taxing - the tale of Bronte who is a romance writer. She is determined to hold out for her fairytale hero. Her new neighbour is a red headed Irish dentist and she refuses to even consider him.

Then Sebastian, the son of the local Lord, arrives on the scene and Bronte is convinced he is her Mr Right. Wrong!

I enjoyed the way her writing actually told the right story even when she was in denial. And, or course, the story wins out in the end!

Who doesn’t need a hero. Our heroine is a romantic story writer who is convinced she knows exactly the kind of hero she’s looking for, or does she.. In fact she grabs onto her dream man with a determination and the reader will follow her efforts and come to their own conclusions
An enjoyable light romantic read that teaches a thing or two .

Sweet!

I loved this book! It was sweet, funny and fast reading. The heroine was a little dense after seeing Sebastian a few times, but then was a downright idiot when she continued to "date" him when he was an obvious loser! Sometimes you can't see what is right in front of you!

Utterly predictable, yet still utterly charming. I received an ARC of this book and although it wasn't anything earth shatteringly new, it was a delightful read and one that Jane Austen fans will thoroughly enjoy.

Her Perfect Hero by Emma Bennet is a cozy contemporary romance with old-fashioned romantic vibes. Bronte, a romance writer, lives with her cat Mr. Darcy in a comfy cottage in a charming village outside of London. After a bad relationship leaves her hesitant to date just anyone, she is determined to hold out for her “perfect” hero like the ones in her books. Then, within a short timespan, the handsome Ryan Murphy moves into the cottage next door, and Brontë is rescued by the dashing Sebastian Fairfax. While Bronte is much more relaxed with Ryan, she decides they can be nothing more than friends because her sights are set on Sebastian, since on paper, he has all the qualifications for her Prince Charming. Bronte finds herself in a dilemma and must search both her heart and mind to decide the path to her one true love.

Her Perfect Hero is the perfect summer read! It is a well-written, lighthearted romance with an awesome setting, interesting characters (including a clever cat), humorous scenes, and witty dialogue. I enjoyed that it was a sweet romance that left out the steaminess which is more my speed, especially since I rarely pick up this genre. I liked that Bronte is a romance writer whose main character can figure out her “perfect” hero, but Bronte struggles with seeing the obvious in her personal life. Even Bronte’s cat, Mr. Darcy, has better intuition than Bronte. Although the plot is a bit predictable, I think it has dimension, heart, and humor that makes it an entertaining read. At times, I felt like I was reading a romantic comedy. I will definitely be checking out more of Emma Bennet’s work in the future.

Her Perfect Hero by Emma Bennett is a 2015 Joffe Books publication.

This is a short and sweet contemporary romance about Bronte, a romance writer who has given up on dating unless she can find a man who matches the romantic heroes in her novels. She wants someone with model looks, money, and a pedigree, who will sweep her off her feet with grand gestures.

The story kicks off when Ryan, a dentist who moves in next door, shows interest in Bronte. But Bronte thinks they’re better off as friends. Ryan is disappointed but respects her choice, so friends it is. Then Bronte meets Sebastian, who seems to be her perfect match on paper. But, oddly, she often feels unimpressed when she's around him.

This story uses a classic trope—overlooking the real prince charming right in front of you. While it’s a pleasant read, there's nothing particularly memorable about it.

It’s great for reading during a lunch break or when you need a light read between more serious books, or just for an escape- and there's nothing wrong with that! I've got a few more of Emma Bennett’s books on my Kindle, and I plan to read them this summer to see how her writing has evolved.

Overall, this novel is a gentle and enjoyable read. It's marketed as a clean read with no explicit language, violence, or sexual content. However, there are some adult conversations that might keep it out the 'Wholesome' category.
