If you like Tufo you should like this 2nd book in the Shrouded World series. If you haven't read any Tufo previously I would start with his Zombie Fallout series - it isn't necessary but I would recommend it. You must read book 1 of A Shrouded World first or you'll be lost, and this book is open ended so I assume there will be a book three. Enjoyable zombie monster mashup overall.
If you listen to the audiobook - The narrator Sean Runnette is as always an unusual delight.

Still think that Jack's chapters are a bit boring but I'm intrigued enough with the story that I'm giving him a pass at the moment. Loving Trip and Mike though so they're making up for the slower chapters.

This is book two in a series. Three men from different worlds (Tripp and Mike are from the same world – well if you know Tripp, they are sorta from the same world …) find themselves thrust into one mysterious world complete with Zombies, Night Runners and Whistlers. Mike and Jack have secrets – secret abilities they don’t want to share in this new world where civilization has also collapsed and there is a dangerous creature lurking behind each brick. Together they head to Atlantis to find answers. Where are they? Why are they here? How can they get back home?
This trio of men is the equivalent of Abbott & Costello or Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin. Tripp is the confused goofy one who annoys Jack (he’s the serious one) and Mike who …. Well, Mike has his own sense of humor-sarcasm thing going on. As a trio, they work perfectly together. Tripp doing yoga moves in the middle of a Night Runner vs Whistler vs Zombie fight with the three guys stuck in the middle … pure entertainment!
The sense of adventure, horror and each of their quirks comes through vividly. Two different writing styles but they weave them together expertly. Although I have not heard/read the first of this series I was still captivated by how they seamlessly wove their story together allowing each of their writing styles and characters to shine through without the clumsy transitions that happens all too often.
Lots of action and edge of your seat twists and turns before they head off to another location. If you are looking for a solid answer to any of the questions, you won’t find it in this one … this is clearly the book that takes them on fact finding missions and more searching.
As usual, Sean Runnette does an excellent job of narrating. With the combination of Tufo, O’Brien and Runnette – there is no way to go wrong!
There were no production issues, everything was clear.
I have been a huge fan of Tufo for the last couple of years and I was hesitant to try this collaborative work. I’m glad I did because I couldn’t stop listening! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sci-fi, zombies, aliens, Runnette and the authors – Tufo and O’Brien.

It's a MAD, MAD WORLD!! And we're invited for the ride of our lives. The first in this great new series combined the talent of two great writers (and two pf my favorite authors) with the premise of alternate post apocalyptic realities that converge bringing the adversaries of both main characters with them; Michael Talbot's Zombies and Jack Walker's Night Runners. If that isn't mind bending enough, this world has it's own nasty surprises revealed at the end of the first novel; motorcyclist monstrosities they name Whistlers. As they head toward the city of Atlantis, Trip spouts his usual babble that leads them to an abandoned train where upon arriving they learn Mike's injury from their earlier battle with the Whistlers is worse than first suspected. To make matters worse there is a horde of Smart zombies on their trail. A harrowing battle ensues but they make it to the city which will bring another set of problems since it seems that the Zombies and Whistlers are converging on the same location. To make matters worse it appears the Night Runners are also in the city but to find the answers they seek, they must enter it. Mike, Trip and Jack are faced with a series of running battles that even Trip has trouble coping with. WTF moments abound as Jack finds himself cornered several times. Mike and Trip face their own demons as a new adversary arises. The battles are intense and exhausting. The situations are nerve wracking leaving you at the edge of your seat and wondering just how much more they can take. Thank goodness there are Mike and Trip moments that help you catch your breath. Mark Tufo and John O'Brien have combined their talent and writing style to create a world that leaves the reader reeling with questions, guesses and speculations as to what will happen next. And with two great minds at work, the possibilities are endless.

Oh this team up of Mark Tufo and John O'Brien is just sheer genius! This series is absolutely awesome. I love both of their takes on this new world their characters have found them selves in. And you couldn't have put two better characters together than Mike and Jack! I def love Trip as well. The humor, some dark, is great and added at the best moments. This is one series you most def need to read if you like one or both authors. If you have never read either Mike or Jack's stories, you can still read this series and be ok with not knowing their background. Both authors have made sure to make this series one that can be enjoyed either way. I can't wait for book 3 and as soon as it is released I will be devouring the pages same as I did for both books!

This is a series clearly written only for the fans of O'Brien's A New World and Tufo's Zombie Fallout. I enjoyed both of those, but still I found this story losing my attention at times. The jokes with Trip are getting to be a bit much, and the story is feeling a bit bloated. Which is odd for a novel that really isn't that long. They are taking time to set up some things for the future, but I think this takes TOO much time. Still, it's not horrible - I'm going to continue the series. But I'm hoping for better.

This is such a well written story with a few anomalies. Lol it really should make you despondent and in fear for the human race, but I just can't help grinning and chuckling, because I know these charactors and they are not right and righteous at the same time. Love you both!

Slow and plodding like a zombie
I love Mike and Trip but Jack really does the story down. He over thinks stuff making good movements in the works slow.
Lived there reference to Casca Rufio Longinus. I'm not sure if that's a nod to The late great Barry Sadler's series it the biblical character but it was a neat Easter egg.

Not as delighted in the co-authored books
There is a decent story her, enjoyable read, but a little less interested in the Jack character, lots of sad internal dialog the I found myself skipping over after a bit.

We get to find out more about the Nightrunners, but again the Jack Walker parts are kind of a drag to get through having only read Tufo. New enemies and some mystery unraveling about the nature of Tripp's trips will keep all Tufo fans enthralled. Grab your Phritos and get to reading.

This book sucked me back in immediately. I loved all the main characters even though there were only three. Of course that doesn't count the hordes of zombies and other monsters. What's scarier than zombies? Your about to find out.

Three Zombie types, and Horrible Creatures. This book increases the horror and nightmarish conditions that started in Book 1. A difficult book to put down. I enjoyed it. Creepy Great!

Love this collaboration between two of my favorite zombie authors. And Trip makes the whole thing stay on the hilarious side despite the very serious situation they find themselves in.

Well the tension and weirdness really ratchets up in this one. It's very scary when the group gets to town and things start going sideways. I can't wait to start the next one.

Getting better
The two writing styles need to come together a little better but I like the direction the story is heading and all the action. Lots of strangeness!

Omg! Another awesome collaboration!
I'm not about putting spoilers in reviews so I'll say this....YOU GUYS FREAKING ROCKED THIS 2ND BOOK! Wth was the parallel universe within the parallel thing. That had me like Woooow uh oh things about to get crazier. A new breed of undead? Runner? Too much. I feel for Jack and Mike on they fear perspective of something new and scarier. Damn guys did you have to leave us pondering towards the end? Mark, where is Indian hill gonna lead us to?? Something even more new and scarier from the other tales of Talbot?? Guys hurry up with the collaboration I want to see my fav characters come back together and kick ass! Favorite line so far from Mike Talbot 's point of view on luck with their many forms of enemies and this odd world" all I can think is that I must have bitch-slapped a God in another life, I wonder what the fuck Jack did. Probably laughed when I did it" yea that had me cracking up!

When Mark Tufo writes, it's the real deal. Except it's with zombies, night runners and other creatures! You can't help but be grossed out, laugh out loud and cringe, all in one sitting! Combine his style with John O'Brien and you have an awesome ride ahead of you! In A Shrouded World, book 2: Atlantis, we find our friends discovering more about their enemies yet always about two steps behind when it comes to defense and fighting back! Our heroes have been separated but not by much. Can they figure out what's going on and make their way back home?
I love Mark Tufo- he's an amazing author and honestly, as cool as John O'Brien is, this book totally belongs to Mike Talbot and Trip! They're unbelievably real and their reactions are priceless. I can't wait to see what book 3 brings! For the full review, http://bit.ly/1PqhIs7

I LOVE MARK TUFO BOOKS! I LOVE MIKE TALBOT! I LOVE SEAN RUNNETTE!
That being said...this book was laugh out loud funny...and I waited quite impatiently for this book....it was worth it!! The guys are really in trouble..there is danger around every corner...and now with Jack being separated from Mike and Trip...it is super scary and a very dire situation....I cant wait for book 3!!!
I Liked it this time, didn't love it....I found the ending to be a bit drawn out...I am super ready for book 3 though!! <3

This is book 2 of the Shrouded World series, which is a mash-up of sorts between Mike Talbot and Trip of the Zombie Fallout series and Jack from the series, A New World, by Jack O'Brien.
I'm a huge ZF / Mike Talbot fan so I gave the series a try. It was good, almost great. The only issue I have with the series is that it seems to take a really, really long time for things to happen, that may be due to the story being written by 2 authors or maybe I'm just impatient Regardless, I really enjoyed the story and I'm looking forward to the next book

Well, this is exactly what you would expect if you took John O'Brien's A New World series and mashed it together with Mark Tufo's Zombie Fallout. Along with some other weird stuff. One thing that did disappoint me was that it ended in a cliffhanger. Now I have to wait until a new book of this series comes out, (if one ever does!). So please authors!! Don't let this story hang!

I always enjoy Tufo's stories, and am beginning to enjoy O'Briens as well, was just hoping for a little bit longer book. Too quick of a read for moi, (even though I know Tufo's got a lot of different series to catch up on (*cough* zombiefallout *ahem ahem*)) but Shrouded 2 was extremely entertaining all the same. Awesome work gents!
