Daily Walking Daily in the New Testament and ProverbsMake your daily devotional reading simple and organized. The New Testament gives you an up-close-and-personal glimpse at the life of Jesus. The Gospels present a testimony of the miracle of His birth, the impact of His life, and the power of His death & resurrection. The succeeding New Testament books offer a deeper reflection of Jesus Christ and the ministry we, as His followers, are called to. The book of Proverbs is known as the “Book of Wisdom” because it provides instructions on how to live happily, successfully, and victoriously. It is jam-packed with tips, advice, and insight that if applied can change your relationships, attitudes, and life. The Plan is Simple. There are 89 chapters in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. By reading one chapter of the Gospels each day, and then two chapters of the rest of the New Testament (Acts – Revelation) for a total of three chapters per day, you will go through the New Testament in just 89 Days. This plan is called "The cell rule of Optina." The monks of the Optina Monastery enter into a daily Scripture one chapter from the Gospels and two chapters from the rest of the New Testament, reading daily in order beginning with the book of Acts and ending with the last chapter of Revelation.By following this plan, Matthew 1 and Acts 1-2 are on the first day, and then the last gospel, John 21, is read on the very same day as Revelation 21-22.I have added a slight twist by including a section from the book of Proverbs with each day’s reading.Daily Walking Daily in the New Testament and Proverbs - is simple, organized, and easy to use. Start today, and you will begin to develop a good habit that will help you in your spiritual walk with Christ.

Reading through the New Testament Made Easy!!

This book is actually the American Standard Bible laid out in daily format of one chapter from one of the four gospels, two chapters from the other books in the New Testament, plus 10 verses from Proverbs. About 20 minutes of reading a day and in 89 days you've read all of the New Testament and Proverbs. I highly recommend this way of reading through the New Testament!

Now, I am all for Bible reading plans, and ones that group readings from books of the Bible together. However, it is not necessary to write a book about it. You can make a list and publish it online and people can follow along in their Bibles or Bible apps.

My reason for my rating is that this is not a devotional. The author just wrote out scriptures and didn't talk about them. That is not what I'm looking for, and I did not find it useful or informative at all.

Good Devotional

Taking you through the Gospels, Epistles and Proverbs with almost no commentary except at the introduction, this is a good 90 or so day devotional reading set. The translation is easy to read in modern English, and the inclusion of Proverbs was a great choice for a dip in the pool of timeless wisdom. A good choice.

I really did enjoy this devotion book, as it was ALL Bible. I'm just not sure how I felt about the particular version of the Bible used, and that's why I gave it 4 *'s. I'm actually going to read through it again, this time with a few ladies that would like to join in on the reading with me.

As a means of systematic study of the New testament I found this study better than any I have used. The way that the different passages seemed to divinely calling really wowed me. allign

Good scripture readings

Daily readings of scripture are always good food for our spirits and souls.
This can be a good devotional reading to use with a journal and write out prayers and words from the Lord and the dates on which you studied.

The introduction explains that there are 89 chapters in the Gospels, and that by reading one chapter per day, plus two chapters from other New Testament books in order, one can read the entire New Testament in under three months. The author also recommends a section of the book of Proverbs per day, and gives some historical background to this system.

However the author has done nothing, after the introduction, but compile together the Biblical text in recommended order for this system. It's a convenient way to read them, as everything is laid out, a day at a time, but I had expected some commentary or thoughts for each day, and there were none.

I wasn’t too impressed with the Bible translation used. In places the language was a bit convoluted. It wasn’t a problem for me as I had read all these passages before, many times, but for someone reading them for the first time, it could be a bit off-putting.

However, as a constructive way of reading set sections of the Bible while travelling, I would rate the idea, and the layout quite highly. Worth downloading if it’s still available at no cost.

Great format

I really enjoyed reading this new testament. Reading a set portion each day worked wonderfully for me. I was sorry when it ended.
