Good short time travel story. Interesting story line, bit of mystery at the beginning of the book. The story sort of ended suddenly, but I'm interested in reading the next book in the series.

This short story was a fun read that left lots of questions to be answered (I assume) in the next book in the series. The main character has a sense of purpose: If she has traveled from her time to the past, there must be a reason. She set herself to discover the reason and fix what was wrong. Because it was a short story, there was no time for unsuccessful attempts, which would have heightened the suspense, but there were still twists (more for the main character than for the reader) that kept my interest and made me care.

The writing was clean (no errors that threw me from the story) and clean (G-rated), and the style of writing immersed me in the story so that I was in the scene and pretty much oblivious to the words that built it. From a time-travel perspective, I did flinch a little at how quickly the main character decided what to do. In real life, such decisions often lead to a completely different outcomes from what we expect. In a novel, this would cause me to give 4 stars. But it IS a short story, and the author included all the essential plot elements. I'll give it 4.5 stars.

This story gave a nice break to my day, but I really can't say it was fabulous. It was very short, very simple, and a little sweet. The writing style wasn't my favorite, it really jilted me when I first started it, and the way things were described didn't always seem to fit in with the other descriptions.
Ali was an interesting character, she had a way of jumping headfirst into things that I think in a full length novel would probably make her end up with quite a few problems, but in this short-story didn't really result in anything.
It left quite a few questions to be explained, and I really would have liked something at the end which showed how things turned out. I'm interested in finding out if the other stories in this series answer any of the many questions.

Overall, I give it 2 and a half stars. :)

28 year old Ali follows up on a note she found st the library asking her to meet in an old tire factory. When she sees a man enter the abandoned factory she follows him inside only to find that inside, it is no longer 2014 but 1944. She meets a young man who she knows 2014 as a good friend of her elderly grandfather. Only in 1944 he is engaged to her future grandmother. It was a nice twist and I won't tell more and spoil anything. After all it is a short read. The good 5hing is that there is a couple of follow up books in the series.

I've read short stories that have good writing and the story leaves me satisfied at the end. Even though it's short. This one was NOT satisfying in the least. The writing was't done well, the plot was decent, but the way the book ended didn't make a whole lot of sense. It's like you're told just because that's how it is.

I really liked the parts about WW II and how the women were 'manning' the tire factory. The author managed to squeeze the rationing of items into the story, as well. Excellent for the younger readers as some will wonder which items were rationed during the War.

Most highly recommended and will check on the availability of Part 2.

This charming story about a girl who follows her instincts and ends up in the past is a light read. I enjoyed reading about Ali and her jaunt to the 40's tire factory. It would be nice to know more about the purpose to her journey, but overall a fun read.

A cute quick read

Not an in depth story, but charming in its own way. I am curious to see what the author does with the rest of the series.
