I recently noticed that on my Kindle, I have about 40 or 50 zombie apocalypse, extinction level event, post-apocalyptic scenario type novels gridlocked on my queue. I therefore decided to go through some of these. I set up reading goals of reading x number of classics and x number of author's novels and I find them helpful, but I aspire to read more than actually possible. I don't know exactly how I acquired The Good, the Dead, and the Lawless by Angelique Archer, but I was happy to own this first-in-a-series book. Here, the reader is introduced to prospective FBI agent Haven Janero and her family. The world is just about to become her oyster when a terrorist plot that is meant to affect the United States comes to fruition in a way that appears more insidious than the planners actually dreamed. Yes, folks this was a planned terrorist event that has gone bad. (Not a spoiler: this is right in the introductory chapter and in the book blurb. The narrative is told in third person, but switches perspectives between the other characters, but it is clear that this is Haven's story and only a matter of time before everyone meets Haven. The novel is horrific, gory, and violent. If you're not a zombie fan, stay away.
