This books provides a great overview about the Chola dynasty and their specialization in architecture also their keen interest in literature.

Main highlight of the book is snapshot of Chola temples and its interior scriptures. Once can easily correlate the stories of niches with the book, while visiting the temple.

It's advisable to carry this book, when your traveling to The Great Chola Temples.

Many new words were used in this book to bring back us with Chola period.

This book was published from Archaeological Survey of India.
Nice introduction to Tanjore Brihadisvara temple, GangaiKondaCholapuram Brihadisvara temple and Darasuram Airavatesvara temple.
It has nice pictures of great sculptures and architecture of these temples.
It gives a brief history of these temples. All 3 are world Heritage sites.
Lot of pictures and descriptions are available on the web. However, this short book is handy and organized well. It is a 2007 edition I read from Archive.org.
I liked it. I have visited the Darasuram temple a couple of years before. I wish I had read this before my visit.
I plan to check if any photo essay books are available to read further.
