Donna Cunningham lays out a workable system for reading charts in this latest of her twelve published volumes. It isn't a cookbook, but more of a driver's manual, as she offers her unique spin on the favorite question asked of conference speakers: How do you interpret a chart? The book offers fresh and often pungent insights into planetary types, missing or weak features, and other facets of the horoscope that shape our character and actions. Index. Bibliography. Charts.

If you are like me, you look at your Natal (Birth) Chart blinking and confused, not knowing where in the heavens to start. Venus trine this or Pluto transits that … Astrology is truly another language to some.
I had my chart done by a company but none of the aspects were drawn in nor was I given any interpretations, so in the end I felt like I had wasted money for a chart that was insanely over my head. That’s where this book came in handy. The author, Donna Cunningham, is wonderful in breaking down astrology for the everyday person without making you feel dim-witted.
As soon as I picked it up, I felt I was learning instead of sitting with an ever-growing migraine from staring at a chart I would never have understood. Donna provides us with the tools to check over the chart and make sure the times are correct and that anything that seems suspect is double-checked. After that, she shows us how to put it all together to form a picture of the person’s chart. With the help of over thirteen charts (including those of some celebrities and political figures) and eight tables, you come away from this book with the confidence of an amateur astrologist.
Great book! She truly teaches the reader how to analyze a chart in their own mind which is very essential to being a human astrologer rather than a computerized regurgitation of chart placements. She goes over the chart basics and a really lays a solid foundation for a student of astrology. She uses charts of "famous" figures to illustrate techniques and bring explainations to life and almost always explores the million ways a single placement can be interpreted which is what makes astrology (and the complexities of humanity) so beautiful! Good book-go grab it ;)
