Bhagat Singh - An Ignited History

Rate this book
"The foundations of the British rule have been shaken. The English will leave India within next fifteen years. There will be some compromises but that will not bring any benefit to the common masses. Many years will pass in strife. Only after that, people will remember me."
This forecast was made by Bhagat Singh few days before being hanged. How true his words have proved!

It would remain unanswered perhaps, for generations that why the sacrifices of fearless revolutionaries of the Independence movement have been kept in obscurity while the followers of non-violence have always been in prime focus in Free India. Why the proponents of class-struggle and socialism have been sidelined? Why courage and valour have been condemned and meaning of martyrdom changed?

The present book by Sh. Hansraj Rahbar is a first attempt to understand the evolution of Bhagat Singh as a true Marxist revolutionary. His family background, ancestral traditions, as well as political ideologies prevalant at that time have been elaborately discussed from the perspective of understanding the events that shaped Bhagat Singh's literary interests, analysing thought processes, political influences and the ideologies he associated with. The book tries to analyse Bhagat Singh as a revolutionary, who envisioned to free Indian masses not only from British rule but from every kind of feudalistic exploitation and tyranny.

Hansraj Rahbar considered Bhagat Singh a visionary, who brought qualitative changes in the political thought of India. This book of his is an analytical document on Bhagat Singh's thoughts and philosophy.
To bring back morality and values in the day by day degrading political character of our country, it is necessary to understand and follow this philosophy.
