Forsaking Gray (The Colloway Brothers) by KL Kreig
4 stars!!

“But now I’m starting to wonder...is it the secrets that will break us, or the truth?”

This was my first read by KL Kreig and it won’t be my last. These Colloway brothers will keep me entertained for quite a while me thinks! I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I loved the author’s voice. This book was captivating from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down. This is the story of Gray Colloway and Livia.

When Livia was younger she worked in a pizza restaurant, in comes Gray, cocky and a bit of full of himself and tries to get Livia to go out on a date, she refuses. Gray does not give up, Livia still refuses, Gray is persistent, Livia still refuses, Gray wins, they date, they are seriously smoking together and totally head over heels, they get engaged, then the day after Livia vanishes, Gray is broken, like really, really broken.

“You’ve worked pretty hard for it so I guess I’ll throw you a bone.”

Fast forward five years and their paths cross once again. Neither are the same person they were five years ago. Livia is broken but slowly healing from the past five years and Gray is still as heartbroken as the day Livia disappeared, he has never, ever got over her disappearance.

Livia made the ultimate sacrifice five years ago that nearly cost her her life and most definitely her sanity but the biggest sacrifice was Gray. She has never forgotten him, certainly never got over him and he has always been her biggest regret. Having escaped the situation she found herself in she has now moved to Chicago to hide from her past and try and get her life back together. The last person she expects to bump into is Gray.

“I don’t care how fast and how far you run, I’ll run faster and farther. I’m not letting you go. Ever...”

This story is full of lies, deceit and a huge dose of angst but most importantly it is about second chances and forgiveness. This is one of those stories that I cannot go into details about as you need to read it as the author intended. The characters and plot speak for themselves and if you are anything like me you will be totally swept away in Gray and Livia’s story. It isn’t pretty but these two make the most and best of it but they have their hurdles. Trust is the biggest issue and communication. Livia doesn’t want to give Gray the full details as she is embarrassed and humiliated, but Gray wants to know everything to try to understand and when you know that someone is still holding back and they obviously still do not trust you, it hurts.

Gray has the means to do his own digging and so he does, but hearing it from the horse’s mouth would have been so much better and misunderstandings could have been prevented. This normally irks me so much but in the case it was relatable and understandable and only made you want to root for this couple all the more. I could understand their hesitance and their reticence, I wanted to hold their hands, bash their heads together and say now talk, but the way that KL Kreig fed us this story was true to the situation and the characters.

“I don’t know when you’re going to pick up and walk back out of it again without a goddamn word, and I’m telling you right now, that will annihilate me.”

The twist at the end was certainly an OMG moment and one that I never saw coming and certainly got my head spinning, what were the chances! However, knowing that we have more Colloway hotness to come has me salivating for the next book in this series, which brother will be next? Who cares...they are all hot, bring it on KL Kreig.

This was moi........whilst turning the pages of Forsaking Gray the 1st book in K.L. Kreig's The Colloway Brothers Series......
 photo Needaliftpostonehappyimagegifattheend_7679d7_5257818_zps1bhmghjo.gif
.....I should have screamed out louder!!! Because Gray and Olivia's story is all about........MISCOMMUNICATIONS...
 photo tenor_zpsamiuf9wb.gif
....if only these two "knuckleheads" didn't go through all those MISUNDERSTANDS.......
 photo 8b6Twka_zps0mftqy83.gif
........they would have avoided so much pain and heartache...but no! They do it the hard way!!

Look, I liked Gray most of the times. How he put up with Livia is beyond me. She was one of the reasons that I couldn't get into these two HEA!!!

Okay, she did go through hell...but did she have to handle it the way she did!!! Why not open up to Gray right away and try and make things work out! But no, she has to go off, go through more pain herself..never mind what Gray goes through. And even when they get together again..she still has doubts about his feelings!!!! REALLY, ARE YOU FOR REAL GIRL!!!

I felt the story could have been wrapped up much quicker. It started to drag for me towards the end.

This was just an okay for me. However, I am interested in following this series as there were other characters in this story that made me want to know more about them.

K.L. Kreig ventures into contemporary romance with Forsaking Gray, a book I was highly anticipating!

First thing to remember is this is a Standalone. Although the first in the series, the story of Gray and Livia is told in this single novel. This was something that I had to remind myself of over and over again as I read this. The fear of a cliffhanger ending was killing me, but again, it’s a standalone. So all was okay, I was going to survive.

Gray and Livia once shared a love like no other. Within moments of placing a ring on her finger she was gone. And Gray was devastated. Now years later Livia never expected to see the one man she could never forget walking towards her. Gray knows he should be angry about the way she broke his heart and just want answers to gain the closure he needs. But he never stopped loving her and now that she’s back, he isn’t about to let her go again. Even if that means letting her keep the secrets as to what forced her leave all those years ago. But for a man like Gray, not having all the answers isn’t as easy as he thought. But will Livia come clean about her horrible secret before Gray discovers it all on his own?

I was on the edge of my seat for this entire book. Just when I thought the tension and drama could not be any more intense, a new revelation would be revealed and I was left reeling. It was impossible not to become completely wrapped up in this story. The bits of their past made me fall so hard for Gray. His persistence to not let her go again. Her inability to walk away from him for a second time, gah! It was all the things.

This story contained so much, but it all just worked effortless together. Sometimes you read a story and there can be one too many twists or plots that can spoil everything, but with Forsaking Gray, it just worked. Both of these characters made you feel. Anger, desperation, sadness. And most importantly love. I loved the slight hint of darkness, the second chance love story and Gray with his dirty words and all alpha behavior!

I found myself unable to put this down, having to get in every last word. I am excited for the next in this series and the discovery of a new author that knows how to hit this reader in all the right places. Forsaking Gray is a must read!

I've never tried this author before but I wanted to - so even though this book has an abused h(which is a no-no for me) I went for it and enjoyed this read.

This was an intense romance. What struck me was the writing, it was good and showed very much a man who is owned by a woman and vice versa. They're truly soulmates but the h was a victim of terrible circumstances (which also affected the H) and they're both hurt and separated without a word for years.

When they meet again, H - who is a betaish alpha, lol - stalks her, forgives her and even gets a background check on h bcos he knows she is running from something. In the second half when H finds out h was , he is devastated, hides himself away to lick his wounds and is cold/ lashing out at h in turns. H never really looks beyond himself or questions what h was running from and if her "marriage" was happy.

I felt it should have been the other way around - H should have been more questioning in the beginning and then wooed h slowly, but I get they had an incendiary connection and couldn't stay away from each other.

It was hard being in the h's head, at times I felt she was going to end it all - if not for her friends Grant/Addie . She loved the H so much and had been through hell and was really vulnerable. The H should have taken better care of her, but I get he's been through hell too and it was hard for him to trust. Anyway I'm happy they got their HEA after all those trials!

An intense 4.5 stars.

OMG K.L. Kreig has very quickly become a favorite author. I freakin LOVED LOVED LOVED Forsaking Gray! Livia was so happy when the love of her life proposed, until she was forced to make a choice that would alter her life forever in less than 60 seconds. She had to leave everything and everyone she loved with no word. Gray has not been the same since Livia left him without any explanation within 24 hours of him proposing. Years later, he runs in to her, and he knows he will stop at nothing to make her his again. Livia had changed as she sacrificed everything while suffering greatly, and now she's just barely surviving. She's very determined that no one will ever find out her shame, especially Gray, but she can't stay away from the only man she's ever loved. Will hiding her past destroy her future?

WOW WOW WOW! This story ripped my heart out, stomped it to pieces, and then shoved it back in while gutting me. Pain oozed out of my kindle to make it hard for me to breathe. The character development is fantastic, with awesome secondaries. A highly emotional, intense, and very well written story line flowed effortlessly. I have to reiterate that fact that K.L. Kreig's brilliant writing style had me all twisted up with emotions, and I swear I experienced the story rather than just reading a book. Chemistry was super flammable, leading to emotionally charged, and yet EXPLOSIVE sexy scene goodness, all wrapped up in beautiful forgiveness. Add in some big twists, and frankly, it's more than a 5 star story, and I can't say enough how HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY and yes, HIGHLY I RECOMMEND TO ALL!

***FOUR STARS***

I LOVED this story so much! K.L. Kreig writes her heroes so freaking sexy, filthy mouthed and alpha. Gray was perfect in every way and I fell head over heels in love with him, and my heartstrings were pulled learning all the horrific things that Livia went through. These two characters were fantastic together. The sex was off the charts smokin' and I enjoyed every second of every sex scene. And I flipped for all the angst in this story too. This would have been a full 5 stars for me, except for I'm absolutely going to read all of Gray's brother's stories in this series.

Well, I had no idea what to expect from this book and I was pleasantly surprised. I was in the mood for a good drama-rama read and I got it without excessive angst. Loved the twist towards the end, wasn't expecting that!

Really enjoyed this one.

I actually heard about this series and author from another popular author on Facebook that was highly recommending it. I decided that it sounded good, and gave it a try. I am sure glad that I did.

This is a series that features the Colloway Brothers, and believe me...you will fall in love with them from the start! They have all the traits we love in our heroes...loyal, possessive, sexy, tough on the outside; but a softy when it comes to the women they love!!

Book #1 is about Gray and Olivia. They have a past and unfinished business. Both still love each other; but there are a ton of questions-especially from Gray, as they had been engaged many years ago and then Olivia just up and left him. When they encounter each other again, sparks fly, and the attraction can not be ignored. Before Gray will fully open up to her again though, he needs the reasons why she hurt him. Believe me, when the truth comes out...Gray will never be the same. It's a doozy, will he be able to move on from the secrets Livvie holds, or will their relationship end before it really gets started again?

This was a roller coaster ride, there is angst; but not too over the top...And the sex is sizzling hot! KL Kreig does a great job of writing a sex scene that had me squirming in my chair. I can't wait to see what Book two will bring, and again I am so glad that I gave this author a try!!!

It was a decent read, but I wasnt too impressed with the hero. It wasnt that he fucked every available woman during their separation (but it was only ever Livia for him) - that didn't bother me one bit. For someone who supposedly loves Livia, he was pretty shit at standing by her and showing it. Wouldn't it have made sense that when he found out about what had happened that he talk to her about it and find out the truth? Instead, he acts like a dick and turns into some punk kid with the maturity of a teenager! However, it all worked out in the end, but that was only after Luke had to tell him to pull his head out of his arse. Luke was the one fighting for Livia on Gray's behalf. In fact, I wanted Livia to end up with Luke. That would've definitely worked for me. Instead, she stays with whiny Gray who never deserved her.

Ever been held hostage by a book? Totally imprisoned by sexy words and dark intrigue? I have and I loved every second of it! I've been blessed with the gift of speed reading, and as much as I tried to speed read through this book, I just couldn't. Every part of me wanted to live in the moment with the words and savor it for as long as possible. Grey and Livia's story took me on an emotionally charged journey full of highs and lows and some spectacular sexual chemistry. There is nothing sexier than a man who knows what he wants and will let nothing stop him from having it. Especially when it's a woman. In this case, it's Livia. Despite the fact that she shattered his hearts mans years before, he still longs to possess her because of his intense and unwavering love for her. If that doesn't make you swoon, I don't know what will! Livia's journey had my heart breaking, but the ending thankfully put me back together and made me whole again. There were a few twists and turns along the way, one that left me utterly shocked, yet giddy with anticipation because I knew that something I had been praying for along the way was going to happen. I wish I could tell you more, but then I'd be one of those people who post spoilers in reviews and I don't want to go there. At this moment I'm currently frustrated that I don't have the time to dive right into book #2, Undeniably Asher. So buy this book, and then clear your schedule because you're not going to want to put it down, and when you're done you're probably going to want to move right along to the next book too!

DNF 50%

Thin plot. The reason she left the H right after he proposed made sense, if you’re an older sister, you would understand her situation, I would’ve done the same thing.

This isn’t a spoiler since you learn early on that she was sold off to a mob to pay off her dads debt instead of her innocent younger sister. The mobster was an abuser and a sadist, and she willingly took her younger sisters place to protect her.

Now the stupid part about this book is her not willing to tell the H about it!
she fucking drags this shit on for the entire book for no reason!
I finally decided to DNF this boring book, I just couldn’t take it anymore, there isn’t a plot other than her not willing to tell him what happened. 🙄. She kept saying how that will hurt him, and not telling him why she disappeared without a word isn’t hurting him? This book made no sense…

There’s nothing I love more than a strong heroine, and Livia is that. I also like a hero who isn’t the cookie cutter sort. The type of man who has faults and virtues. I hate heroes that are all good with no shades of gray. (Pun intended) Gray is excellent hero material.

He’s complicated, in touch with who he is, and knows exactly what he wants—and that’s the heroine. He knew he had to have her from the very beginning and there was no keeping him from his goal. Our heroine has been through the emotional wringer, but she manages to come out on top when it counts. This is is highly emotional story, filled with swoon-worthy moments. I enjoyed it to bits!

Disclaimer: like my last review, this one is also unedited, so beware the typos and grammatical errors.

I put off writing this review (this rant, more specifically) because I wasn’t in the mood to write a full blown essay as to why this book (which for some reason, I had high expectations of) is garbage. This was shelved under romance, but it is NOT, it is a terribly written erotica. First 1 star of the year, I think.

I’m going to write this in bullet point format, as it is easier for me to rant that way.
- Every woman, who is not our MC or any of her direct associates, is a slut, who dresses like a slut, and wants to sleep with our hero (this is written in italics for a reason I’ll get into further in this rant)
- Every male character who isn’t one of our hero’s two brothers, wants to get into her pants and is in love with her.
- The hero, Gray, has been sleeping around with random women during his 5 year separation with Livia, whom he loved so much and couldn’t imagine a life without because “she’s just a warm body and a tight pussy, nothing else” referring to other women.
- Gray did not use protection during their first encounter, because he actually wanted her to get pregnant to be forced to stay with him.
- Gray always voices his requests during sex so that Livia would say yes to them without thinking.
- Gray growled “she’s mine” IN A BUSINESS MEETING, which he left midway, because one of the men in the meeting asked Livia out (not knowing they were together). Putting aside that his request was totally out of the blue and made no sense since they WERE AT A BUSINESS MEETING.
- Further, while heading to this meeting, they were in the car with his driver, who has been a driver in his family for decades, they decided to shag in the back of the car, moaning and groaning, having ZERO respect for the old man driving them to the BLOODY MEETING.
- They also perform oral on the road when HE’S DRIVING.
- Gray initiated an argument with Livia when she was in the nude, and he was filly dressed, and didn’t allow her to even cover herself, like the bloody ass he is. “I'm an ass, making her stand here bare in front of me while I’m fully clothed, but we all do things we regret in moments when we’re angry or hurt.” He did not regret, by the way, nor did he apologize. He just proceeded to take off his clothes, after embarrassing her and hurting her, and sleep with her.
- He’s controlling and possessive, disregards her requests constantly, because apparently he knows her best (better than her, of course). He changed her position in her job because he wanted to see her ALL the time, even though she stated several times she prefers to stay where she is.
- Livia was married to a sick psychopath who beat her, rape her, humiliate her for THREE years, and apparently that wasn’t the worst part of those THREE years, “The worst part of being with Peter wasn’t the forced sex, never being allowed outside or even the beatings. It was being without Gray.” I have no words.
- Livia’s previous boss, who put his hand over Livia’s in an important board meeting because she was nervous, was hated by Gray, who spent a good chunk of the book trying to find a way to put him in jail, or for the very least, fire him. We, the readers, know he was a sleaze towards Livia, prior her mentioning her fake relationship status, but him, Gray, had zero reason to hate him, besides being a jealous, controlling ass.
- Livia’s sister, Alyse, was dating an exact replica of Gray, a controlling, possessive, jealous ass, but only one of them was deemed as a villain: “The asshole won’t let her leave his side and constantly has a possessive arm or hand on her.”Hm, wonder where else I saw that attitude. But don’t worry, Gray is a better ass because “While mine stems from deep, soul-wrenching love, his is just pure possessiveness.” referring to his possessive, controlling attitude.
- The pathetic attempt at a plot-twist at the end, which made zero sense about Livia’s former savior.
- There is so much more I can say about why I hated this book, but I’m going to stop here.

I read this because I terribly misunderstood my twitter friends, who constantly recommended this series to me and everyone they know, but the series they were referring to is “Calloway SISTERS”, NOT “Colloway BROTHERS”. So I brought this onto myself. I don’t even think I’m willing to read the right series after reading this book, but that may change after reading a few good books.

What she doesn’t understand though is that she snared my soul the second she stared into my eyes.

If you’re looking for an ugly cry book, seriously, this one is for you!

I’m actually torn how on to say things, because honestly, after that beautiful ending, I’m not sure what to read next. I’m experiencing book-hang-over and it’s a good one. Usually its gut-wrenching pain I can’t get over but how do you explain a gut-wrenching pain that’s good?

I know right? It’s that hard. All I can is that this is one beautiful love story of a broken dreams and fairytales and a second chance.

Livia Kingsley is a broken soul who had her dreams and her fairytale of a love story ripped away from her to descend a hell no one should ever experience. Usually I’d say I wanted to experience what she did but the flashbacks were good enough for me. More than enough. Because I still can’t get my mind to get over it, or for my heart to forget the pain. It was hellish, it was monstrous and I’m glad the Author only did the flashback thing.

Gray Colloway is a possessive controlling bastard. He was broken and lost, living in bleak colors and just going through the motions. He was just a victim as Livia as and I admire him for all the over flowing love that emanates from him. But I can’t fault him for all that he felt, for all that actions he had made. Who could fault a man who felt betrayed by the only person that made him breath life?

I’ve already said it’s a beautiful story and I can’t say more than that. I don’t know where Gray ends and Livia begun because their love was an all-consuming love that made them whole and made them survive the hell they’ve have.

My only regret is not loving Grant more. I wanted, I hope, and I wish that I’ll be reading his story soon. I wish for his happy-ending. And I’m sorry for what he had to endure, but more than that, I respect what he had done for the person he loved. And no, seriously, this isn’t a love triangle. There was nothing like that.

This is a must read.

“Tell me you love me.”
“So much I ache with it.”

What I thought of this book?

It felt like a watered down imitation of better written ones that I've read. Honestly - I can't phrase it any other way because I would see little words, or sentences that naggled me.

The heroines weighted by her deep dark secret -which she mentions time and time again like we don't get it, she's self-pitying, feels like she isn't good enough or is now "tainted."

The hero, who fucks everything with a pulse in their separation never actually stands by her when the going gets tough preferring to drink himself to a stupor over misunderstandings.

The person who actually does rescue her out of her predicament with a fifty-year old mobster, rapist and murderer turns out to be the twin of the hero. Right...

Guess which brother I was hoping she'd end up with?

No - there wasn't a love triangle, but dammit there should have been. And I don't want to particularly read a book in the series where he falls in love with another woman.

There's also the fact it was ridiculously long with paragraphs upon paragraphs of irrelevancy. I would skim over, and be perfectly fine.

I don't know - it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good or special or authentic so I won't be carrying on.

My first book by K.L. Kreig and what a lovely and beyond amazing love story it was.

I seriously loved Gray. The blurb says he's an alpha with lots of dirty talk and let me tell you, that's not even half the truth. He's so damn yummy with his sexy dirty talk and how he handles and cares for Livvy. He's the star of the book, with his huge heart and undying love.

I'm in awe of Livvy and of her strength after what she did to rescue her sister. What a sacrifice and she did it out of pure love. Emotionally and mentally she's strong and it's impressive how she can compartmentalize that horrific experience she went through.

Gray and Livvy are phenomenal together. Holy smokes their chemistry was intense and the sex insanely hot and addictive. I loved when they were together because their need and love oozed from the pages.
But there was also times when I wanted to scream out loud from being frustrated by Livvy's secret and when they couldn't get their act together. Come on! Just communicate.
Luckily that couldn't destroy this powerful love story and now I'm more eager to know more about Asher. These Colloway brothers are something special.

I didn't feel like I could justify giving this anything higher than 3 stars because the whole book is based on miscommunication and misunderstandings.

I understood why the h

Also, I didn't really feel like I connected with the two MC's. We don't get much of a backstory as to how they met and fell in love, except for about 10 pages, so I didn't understand the attraction, why could they not stay away from each other? All we know is that they're hot for each other in the bedroom... ut I needed more romance.

I feel like this story could have been great, but the execution just didn't work for me.

I feel like the first 40% of this book was just a 3 star. I had to push to get through it. The lines were cheesy, it felt like an office romance, which I’m not too keen on. It was slow moving and there weren’t too many answers. But by the time I was at the 50% mark things picked up. When I hit the 60% I was like “oh shit boyyyyy!!!” So the last 50% was bangin! I give that shit 4 stars!

I went into this blind, and I think that’s the way to go. So I won’t be spoiling anything that takes longer than 60 pages. There’s a surprise in this book that made me yell “OH SHIT!”, waking up the house. I’m not gonna spoil that. It was a good surprise. Anyway…

Livia Kingsley was deliriously happy when her boyfriend, Gray Calloway, proposed to her. But then her father called. Leaving a note of her return, she left Gray to return home.

Saving her sister from the same fate, Livia Kingsley was sold to Peter Wilder, a mobster, to pay for her father’s gambling debts. Given minutes to pack, she has no time to tell Gray goodbye.

Married to the mobster from hell, Livia survives abuse of several kinds. But there’s a little bit of light in her situation in a man named Grant, Peters right hand, who helps patch her up after her beatings. Three years later, Peter dies of a stroke, and Livia is helped by Grant to escape to a new life.

Two years later (5 in total) Livia finds herself at a fundraiser with Gray in attendance. She makes her Cinderella escape, but Gray catches up to her. She’s not able to tell him why she left, or where she’s been, so she jumps in a cab and goes home.

“Seeing him had been like picking an old scab. Now you have to treat it, disinfect it and bandage it again because it’s bleeding. If you ignore it, blood leaks everywhere, leaving behind stains you can’t get out. I can’t afford any more stains. I already have too many.”

Gray never got over Livia. He’s been a manwhore for years trying to get her out of his system. But the moment he sees her again, he immediately chases her down. Once she gets into the cab, he’s lost her again.

“The moment I set eyes on Livia Kingsley, my heart started beating again and I felt like I could take a breath for the first time since she disappeared. I felt alive. The only way I can continue feeling that way is to make her mine again.”

Gray hires a PI to find Livia, with no leads. It’s like she disappeared into thin air. But Gray doesn’t give up. He’s deliciously jp about Livia, I loved it!

“The thought of another man touching what was mine made me feel murderous. The thought that she would let another man touch her made me violently ill.”

He was still in love with his Livvy.

“I honestly feel like my heart may stop beating if I were to lose her a second time.”

They were both so miserable without each other. Gray searched for her in every woman he came across. Livvy held onto his memory, reliving those moments while she was surviving.

“It’s funny how the mind can so easily fool itself. With the loss of someone you love, you trick yourself into thinking you’re managing, coping, living. But you’re not. You’re simply existing.”

But fate is funny. Turns out Livia was working really close to Gray. After doing some digging, he finally finds her. Now that Gray found her again, he wasn’t letting her go. He was determined to make her his when he first met her, and he used that same determination now. Even though she wouldn’t tell him the specifics, he knew that if he continued to love her, she’d trust him once more and tell him the truth.

This book had romantic moments with Gray saying the things that Livia needed to hear. He really poured his heart out to her, without hesitation.

“I don’t care how fast and how far you run, I’ll run faster and farther. I’m not letting you go. Ever. Run to me, Livvy, not away. I can’t live without you again.”

But there were things that they both needed to work through, and secrets, about her past, that Livia had to let Gray in on. Secrets that made their weakened foundation even weaker.

God, there’s so much more that I want to say but I don’t want to write a review that spoils the whole damn book. The second half uncovers some truths, Gray and Livia are torn apart, and there’s a chance they won’t be able to fix it.

“The events of our past shape our future, the people we become and the lives we live, whether we want them to or not.”

Thoughts;

I don’t like how when a hero and his heroine are separated, the hero turns into a big ass manwhore, and it’s mentioned a few times in this book. I love a hero that sits in his sadness, not wavering in his loyalty to his lost heroine. I know it’s unrealistic, but it’s nice to read nonetheless.

There’s just a few more things I’d like to mention in this already too long review;
1. Dedicating a smutty love story to your children is just weird.
2. Lines saying a women’s nipples are “hard as erasers” (I’m still laughing) will make me spit out my drink, and take me right out of the moment.
3. Lines like “That toddler was going to be difficult to hide in my fitted dress slacks.” When talking about his erection, makes me roll my eyes.

It doesn't get much more meant to be than Livia and Gray, folks!

Livia Kingsley was desperately in love with Gray Colloway when her father sold her to a man to pay off his gambling debts. Abused and destroyed, Livia is finally able to escape her prison and start to build a new life, only to unexpectedly run into Gray in Chicago. Gray wants answers, needs to know what happened the day after he proposed to his soulmate, needs to get her back in his life and his bed. Livia isn't the same woman she was 5 years ago, she's broken, damaged, and Gray won't want anything to do with her once he learns what happened to her. But Gray won't give up without a fight, won't give up period. Livia is his, case closed.

Oooh mama, I've found a new must read author! FORSAKING GRAY isn't a new release, and gazillions of readers are probably already in lust with the Colloway Brothers series, but man am I loving these broody, sexy dudes! Gray is a total Alpha who found his mate years ago and even her perceived treachery couldn't deter his love for her. He pursued her with single minded focus when she came back into his life, and even though all she wanted to do was run, there was no way it was gonna go down like that.

I went back and forth with my thoughts on Livia pulling up her big girl panties and just telling her man what happened, but I wound up loving where Ms. Kreig went with the story and Grant's position in Livia's life. The heat that Gray and Livia generated could power the city of Chicago for a month, and it really felt like the two of them were meant to be. The brothers Colloway are some yummy yummy men and I'm so looking forward to each of their stories (especially the extra cranky Asher)!

Bottom Line: Fabulously sexy romance, I highly recommend this one! - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

4.5*

Have you ever read a book that you want to throw at a wall and hold close to your heart at the same time. Well, this was that book for me. I had a bit of a love-hate thing going on with this one. Half the time I wanted to choke the ever living crap out of both the H/h, Livia and Gray. The other half I wanted to hug them both close and make it all better! Gah!!! Kind of the way I felt about my kids when they were teenagers! Those of you who have or have had teens should all be nodding your heads in understanding.

Livia has a secret. A secret that cost both her and Grey everything, years before. Now that they have another chance, Livia still can’t bring herself to tell all to Gray. You get the picture here, right? Lies, deceit, and heartbreak that all could be avoided by one M*** F***ing conversation! I am a lay it all out there and let the chips fall where they may kind of girl, so you can imagine where I am going with this review. Nope, wrong! I loved it!

Why? Because, Ms. Kreig, sold it! She made me care about characters and a story that under normal circumstances, I would not. I was emotionally invested, completely engrossed, and reading at super speed to the end! That, my friends, should attest to the talent of this author. I have said it before and will say it again, Ms. Kreig has some serious skills. She creates characters you are drawn too and expertly weaves in a story of heartbreak, hope and happiness. Add in a steam factor that is off the charts and you have a winner!

This story will not only melt your panties but your heart as well! So grab your tissues and keep your BOB (or significant other) handy because you will need them both. ;)

Oh and there is a bit of a twist towards the end that had me head over heels in love. I can’t seem to resist a tatted bad-boy!!! *sighs heavily*

I was drawn into this story from the get go.
I couldn't put it down.
Gray is just the perfect alpha male character, you automatically can't help but fall for him.
Livia's character is strong independent abd fierce.
The two together are combustible, and it's perfect.
The angst in this story Holy Crap on a Cracker!!!! Your nerves will be shot reading this. Oh almost forget this baby is off the charts hot!!!! The woman can write sex.
Looking forward to Asher's book and what KL will put me through.

I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with this story. I loved the plot, the characters had some depth, the background of the story was nicely set and it was a typical second chance romance with some twists. And this is usually a scenario I love, and although I enjoyed the story, I had some moments that I was losing patience with the pacing of the book, the stupidity of the MCs and a little too many sweet moments to count. Not that I didn’t like the sweet, swoony and cute part of this story. It was nice and it melted my heart, but it seemed a bit off for me having in mind the caveman, overpossessive and overprotective behavior of the hero.

I enjoyed both Livvy and Gray’s characters and although their story was messed up and they both suffered a lot in their past their whole situation and the drama that followed could be described as one huge miscommunication. Yes, I know, this is putting it simply – there was real depth to the story and some parts were truly drama-packed, I just wish they opened up to each other sooner. There were lots of steamy scenes, and although the book had some tough moments, the story was sweet.

There were some big and small twists in the plot, and despite the fact I guessed some of them, they made the story very intriguing and put some action to it. The ending part was intense and a real page-turner. The very final part was maybe a bit too sugarcoated for my liking, but at least they both got the HEA they deserved. Cute and emotional second chance romance, good writing and intriguing plot to keep your interest to the end
