This is a collection of short stories written in different genres and I enjoyed the addition of the different recipes too.

3 1/2 stars
THE MOTORCYCLE by Tarah Scott ~ Paranormal Fiction
A sweet story of friendship that runs deep and lasts forever even after one may no longer be on this earthly plane. A testament that soul mates do exist.

3 1/2 stars
IDA AND THE NOR'EASTER by Victoria Barbour ~ Contemporary Fiction
Every day we have, and the life lessons we learn, make us who we are. It's a constant ever changing thing. Ida finds, that even after 98 years, the power of love and family are the ties that ground us no matter what upheavals are thrown in our paths. Victoria has me wanting to visit all the Heart's Ease books.

3 1/2 stars
GARDENS by Stephanie Joyce Cole ~ Literary Fiction
Some times what we yearn for or crave in life is not what we end up with. We learn to adjust and carry on but we can always add some beauty to the monotony and bring our own rays of sunshine into focus. This story shows us to never forget to do things that make us happy, even if others are against it.

3 stars
ONE WHO WAITS by John Robin ~ An Epic Fantasy
A story about a boy who becomes a man and begins his destiny by losing one who is close to him. This is a prelude to a book John is writing called BLOOD DAWN. A worthy read for those who enjoy Epic Fantasy.

3 star
THE HOLE by Ted Grosch ~ Literary Fiction
I was a little confused with this one. Not sure if it's about someone suffering from Alzheimer's disease or if it's about someone who is ready to plot murder when at the same time the other person is plotting against them too. Maybe it's a mixture of both? It sure leave you thinking, which I liked.

3 star
THE SPIRIT BOTTLE by Ted Grosch ~ Literary Fiction
A story reminding us to grow old and face our end when it comes with dignity.

3 1/2 stars
THE SUMMONS by Ria Cantrell ~ Paranormal Romance
Sometimes our dreams speak to us what is in our hearts that the mind can't comprehend. When you open your mind to possibilities that reach beyond the normal, your heart and soul may just find what completes them. Two souls reach through time, in dreams, to find their happiness.

5 star
THE SEVENTH SISTER by Sue-Ellen Welfonder ~ Paranormal Romance
This is a re-read for me and it touches me deeply each time I read it. I truly believe a part of Sue-Ellen's soul is a bard as old as time. I believe her stories come from the other side of a thin veil and she puts to print what others want told. People like her are few and far between... those who are in sync with places, times, and people of olde.
It's a beautiful story of second chances. Maggie and Conall meet in Ireland when Maggie visits the place of her ancestors right before she enters college. There is definitely a soul bond between the two. She goes back to the states and for twelve years they don't see each other or speak until she revisits to let her past go and they find each other again. There is a beautiful story about the standing stones that weaves it's tale around Maggie and Conall. Smack full of setting, atmosphere, and love.

4 1/2 stars
FALLING IN TIME by Sue-Ellen Welfonder ~ Time Travel Romance
Lindy and Rogan. Two souls destined for each other and time cannot keep them apart. They keep feeling and seeing each other through dreams and when Lindy takes a trip to Smoo Cave in Scotland, time thins just enough to bring them together. I was left with a warm feeling in my heart when I finished this story.

4 star
CLOUDS ACROSS THE MOON by Kathryn Lynn Davis ~ Historical Women's Fiction
We have to remain true to who we are as we grow and steer away from what others expect us to be for we will never be happy with ourselves if we try to be what others want. Morna learns some life lessons, that affect her deeply, on her journey of self awareness.

4 star
THE LADY'S PORTRAIT by Kate Robbins ~ Contemporary Romance
Gillian leaves behind turmoil looking for a chance to heal and finds that healing in a place she's connected to in a deeper way than she could ever have guessed. She is, after all, in the Highlands of Scotland where faerie magick dwells.

3 1/2 stars
HIS HARLOT by Natasha Blackthorne ~ Historical Erotic Romance
(Previously published as A Midsummer's Sin)
A story of two people who find themselves loving the other but each are struggling with how to accept their differences. Once they let their pasts go, and look at what is in their hearts, their future becomes clear.

3 1/2 stars
ONYX by HD Smith ~ Paranormal Fiction
Indecision and fear have Madison running. Can Onyx find her and right some wrongs that Madison has believed to be true for the last seven years? Communication is always key, no matter the situation.

3 star
THE LIFE SHE HAD BEFORE by Brenda Margriet ~ Contemporary Romance
A story of betrayal, lost connections, forgiving oneself or another, and whether it's worth the fight for a second chance. This story pulls you in and gets you thinking.

3 star
MY NAME IS HAROLD by Kimberly K. Comeau ~ A Humorous Short Story
Who would have thought there would be so many ways to get peanut butter out of a jar... laughing here. A fun short story about addiction and the losses a person can go through dealing with the addiction.

4 star
THE JEWEL OF GRIM FORTRESS by Victoria Zak ~ Paranormal Historical Romance
A story of danger, death, magic, and visions. I'd love to see more of these characters in future stories. I enjoyed Zak's writing style and look forward to reading more from her.

3 star
BEAUTIFUL STORM by KyAnn Waters ~ Erotic Romance
Chance encounters... sometimes they're more about destiny. That destiny can also turn into a "beautiful storm."

3 star
WHEN A ROSE BLOOMS by Tarah Scott ~ Historical Romance
A story of the struggle that comes with living while dealing with the loss of a loved one, the healing, and the decision to move on with life.

4 star
SORRY FOR YOUR TROUBLE by Ceci Giltenan ~ Memories Of An Irish Funeral
A beautiful, and can I say funny, story of Ceci's experience at an Irish funeral. I think it's wonderful how involved the family and friends are during the funeral and I'm thankful that she shared the experience with us. It's always a blessing when you can find humor in the worst moments.

3 3/4 stars
THE PERSONAL AD by Ceci Giltenan ~ Contemporary Sweet Romance
A quirky story with an ending you definitely don't see coming that leaves you with a smile on your face.

An enjoyable read

Tantalizing tidbits. The motorcycle was a interesting start and loved the ending with him on the bike. Ida and the Nor'Easter was really good. Loved auntie Ida and though I have not read the other books with Ida but glad she got her own.
Gardens I was a little sad at the way Anne was treated by her husband Martin and was upset that the neighbor didn't see her. Was upset at the ending as I wanted it to continue.
One who waits as an interesting read and those who read that kind of book will love it I'm sure.
The Hole I'm afraid this one made no sense to me sorry
The Spirit Bottle I could not have killed the stag while it looked at me.
The Summons this was so sweet. It would be so lovely to be able to go back in time. He found his soulmate as did she I just hope they will find away to stay together.
The seventh Sister
I loved this story and the story about the stones. I love the old woman and the red plaid shoe laces. The end of this story was really great and the stones dancing. It had me crying awesome story.
Falling In Time This was a very good story. I love the idea that we could of had a love that could span a life time. And our little old lady with the black boots and red plaid laces.
Clouds Across the Moon this story was not about Morna finding true love but about finding her self or at least that is what I got out of it. It was a sad story but she finds her way in the end.
The Lady's Portrait I love this story. I left sorry for Gillian and her ex put her through and then add a curse and a very pleasant way to lift it with a very hot scots man. Ciaran is any women's dream come true.
His Harlot. This was a sweet and very erotic read.
The fact that Thomas you not see that though Rose didn't worship the way he did she had her own way of looking at things God gave us.
A measured risk sounds very wicked and exciting
Highland legacy: King Arthur Strikes Back. Love this and can't to get. This was so good I didn't want to put down and now will have to wait to find out what happens.
Onyx. Short be sweet I enjoyed this story.
The life she had before. I felt very connected to her and what she went through. It's hard to trust when you have be cheated on. But at least he confessed and wanted her to know he was sorry.
Hi My Name is Harold all I can say is different. Sorry
The Jewel of Grim Fortress
I enjoyed reading this story. And look forward to more.
Beautiful Storm. Very erotic and steamy. Love the story
When A Rose Blooms Good story but would of liked to have read more. It ended to quickly
Sorry For Your Trouble. I enjoyed this insight into an Irish funeral. I would have been just as surprised as the lady in the story. I would never guess things would be so different in another country.
The Personal Ad. Love the fact that Nina is more average then most ladies in novels are. The end of the story took me by surprise though was not expecting it to end that way.

I do not rank my own books, so this review is of the other stories in this collection.

I really enjoyed the wide variety of styles and genres. One of my favourites was the shortest in the collection, title "The Hole". I can't tell you about it to avoid spoiling it, but trust me - you want to read this chilling yet sweet tale. There was a lot of historical romance - mostly Scottish - with sexy Scotsmen and their wonderful accents. And even a sweet short with one my favourite characters from Victoria Barbour, Aunt Ida.

Over and above the stories were all the recipes included. Trust me - your mouth will water over some of the meals and snacks provided. I'm going to start at the beginning and work my way through!

>Book Review – Tantalizing Tidbits –

>This is an anthology arranged as a menu. The 21 stories are separated into 'Appetizers', 'Main Courses', and 'Desserts'.

>'Appetizers' - The stories in this section are very short, with no discernible connection, other than length. A recipe for an appetizer is included after each story. The whole menu idea would work better if the recipes had something to do with the story it follows.

>'Main Courses' - These stories all had a Scottish theme. The stories included in this section are supposed to be longer and they are, but still not long enough to develop them into anything to hold your attention. The stories didn't really create characters readers would want to care about.

>'Desserts' - Shorter stories with no relationship to one another.one story is just a teaser to an upcoming book. Dessert recipes are included at the end of each story, but once again, seem random.

>The book is appropriate for an adult audience. Readers who don't want to invest a lot of time each day reading may like this anthology.
