Adam Sheldon has an insatiable love that he would follow anywhere, even through the depths of hell. Some things aren’t what they seem as Adam learns that in hell, all things must be paid…in flesh.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 I so badly wanted to love this book..the first chapter started with some brute force violence.. I love meat cleaver scenes. Then we keep getting glimpses into a demon stuck in hell that is devouring souls (violently), so skin can regrow on him. All great ideas and very entertaining. However, I feel like the story was written in botches and pasted together as afterthoughts, like putting together a puzzle. In the beginning, we get the feel that the two main characters barely knew each other. Then we find out so much more..from her side of the story (in the very beginning), we get his side of the story (very end), and they don't line up at all. Then the end really confused me. I get what the author was going for, but I guess I'm not tracking what shift of reality could have made that even close to possibly happening. There's some violence, and overall the stories are cool.. As the demon eats souls, we get shorts on each victim's sins and wrongdoings. So the book isn't a complete loss.

Reading is one of my many passions and I read a little of everything! I must start with saying this book should be a movie!!!! It is so descriptive just about anyone could visualize it all in their head while reading it…. I loved that it sucks you right it from the very first page, and it keeps you there wanting more even after you have finished. Fleshface and Miss Mortis are beyond scary! I love the twists and turns, the gore, and most of all the love story that is all in one amazing horror! This book gets 5+ stars and 2 thumbs up!!! I can’t wait for book 2 to come out! TJ and SK are brilliant and have made it very difficult to put into words what I think and how I feel after reading this book… This review doesn’t even give it justice!!!!
Okay, to start with: this book was not in any condition to be published. I'd say it needed an editor or someone to proofread, but that would mean that there was already a display of understanding for basic English to work with. The sentence structure is fucking awful throughout the entire book, the dialog is clunky at best, and these authors can't even be fucked to make sure they're using the correct "their/there/they're."
Alright, now that I've got my gripes about the grammar and formatting out of the way, let's get on with the actual content. It reads like it was written by someone who keeps a pile of crusty tissues and empty lotion bottles by his writing station, yet has the writing capabilities of a 6th grader who is failing English class. There's a ton of implications being made that women are wrong for killing rapists, and that killing a rapist is a much bigger "sin" than rape, which I just straight up do not vibe with. There are reasons to kill, there is never a reason to rape. Remember 2007 or 2008 when the internet was a place for shock horror and edginess for the sake of edge? That's where Unfleshed would have shone... except it was published in 2015. If you want low-quality edge lord bullshit then this works, but then again so does a Deviantart short story... and that would take up less time while providing the same amount of substance. I genuinely cannot believe that there were several glowing reviews. I get that not every book is going to be everyone's cup of tea, but c'mon...
I give this book a five stars I loved this whole book has different stories interwoven through out the book and enjoyed the different aspects of each victim through the stories of fleshface and miss mortis a book worth the read and also a book I could recommend for those that love horror reads
This book has an awesome cover. I love it. Unfortunately the cover is the best part of this book. I really wanted to love this book. The premise sounded great. Unfortunately it was really tough to get through this book. A large amount of the book discusses the two main characters but in the end they did not feel like they were fully developed. Also I felt no empathy or care for them at all. I really couldn't care if they survived. Also there is no explanation for how or why they ended up where they were in hell. Nor did it explain why they tortured the souls that entered their rooms. As for the tortured souls there was almost no character development of them as well. Some of the dialogue was awkward and did not sound realistic. The book also has numerous typos and could have improved with a good proofreader. The general concepts were interesting and the pace was good. Unfortunately they were not enough to make this an enjoyable read.

Wow…when I first started reading Unfleshed, I wasn’t sure what was going on because it seemed like short stories all in one book. When I got further along it dawned on me what was going on and I couldn’t put it down! With the dynamic writing team of Weeks and Ballinger the reader is taken on quite an amazing trip that is both scary and terrorizing! These two talented authors wrote a story that will not soon leave your mind. It haunted me for quite a few days and kept creeping into my thoughts. That to me is the sign of great authors! I am so looking forward to book two to continue this amazing story. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a well written story that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to see what happens next! Kudos to the authors!
There is a saying that says "It's a thin line between love and hate" meaning it takes almost the same depth of feeling for each. Or so I have read the meaning to be. This story tells the same tale as different people kill off others to better accomplish their own love lifes or just greedy needs. The HORROR IS in the excuses they make to THEMSELVES as they bargain with the UNFLESHED DEAD. THIS THRILLING STORY IS SOMEWHAT HARD TO FOLLOW .BUT WILL COME TOGETHER IN UNEXPECTED WAYS. A THRILLING READ. ENJOY! I RECOMMEND.
Very poorly written. It was sophomoric, and stiff. Frankly, I was surprised that anyone had given it a good rating, and even more surprised that anyone had agreed to publish it. Just NOT good. Written (Barely) on about a 7th grade level. Mr. Ballinger needs to go take a writing course, and pay close attention.
What an interesting unique view on love and how it transcends even life itself. When I started the book I never would have guessed it ended where it did. It was riveting, enticing, and a real page turner. This story was gruesome and fed my darker side with delicious consistency.
This book took a blow for editing from another reader. Since I am an editor, sometimes this is difficult to overlook. Still ... I believe content and storytelling are the most significant parts of a story, and Weeks & Ballinger offer a bloody good tale.
It was crazy good! I already had good feeling who the two was before the ending. Didn't understand way she got to move on not Adam when he didn't do anything wrong but I still liked it.
This book had too many different things going on. Even, the writers, lost part of the story. At , 81%, Ben was called Bill instead. In my humble opinion, book would have been better, without so many story lines.
I was 40% into this book and I was so confused on the plot of the story. Was the main character in hell and seeing things that were happening in hell. Or was she living her hell? I have no idea.
