My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

This was a very fast-paced, action-packed read.  The writing was beautiful and addictive.  It sucked you in from the very beginning. I have read my fair share of angel stories but this one is so refreshingly original that I could not put it down.

This story surprised me. I excepted more of a YA Fantasy type but was pleasantly surprised to find it leaning more toward the paranormal romance side with an epic love triangle between a human, an angel and a vampire.

The heroine Eva is a guardian angel that really sucks at being a guardian angel.  She is given one more chance.  Her mission is to save the Fae princess from the Demon Prince.

Assigned to Eva as her angel liaison, Thomas first impression of the angel is less than flattering.  He blames her for his uncles death but is forced to work side by side with her to save the princess.

In comes Soren. The vampire that killed her last wards.  She should resent him.  She should despise him.  She should but she can’t.

I had been there the from the very moment he was turned vampire, and it seemed we were destined to be thrown together, time and again no matter how painful it was for me.

Now forced to work along side him and the Other-Worlders they team up to stop the Demon Prince. All the while her and Thomas’s bond grows stronger and stronger.  Then BAM! This HUGE things happens that I can’t tell you about because it would ruin the entire book for you.  All I can say is wow.  I was crying.

Then the ending is another WOW.  I’m telling you this book rocks.  I can’t wait to start reading the next one. Highly recommend.

Favorite Scene: When they fight Paimon

Favorite Quote:

Until today I thought I loved him, but he didn’t complete me the way Thomas did, and Thomas had just been my friend.  I knew I deserved more.  Soren was death and destruction rolled into a pretty package.

I love the sweet looking cover of Eva, a guardian angel that has trouble taking care of her charges. She’s a good angel, but she can’t seem to get things right. I feel her pain as her self doubts overwhelm her. She sounds a bit like us don’t you think?

She is teamed up with Thomas, who has no confidence in her whatsoever. Their mission is to save Elsie, a Fae who has been kidnapped for evil purposes.

We have action from the getgo and the intrigue begins.

Angels, supernaturals and humans coexist, sometimes with fatal results.

Can an angel love a vampire? Why not?

With Mandie’s descriptive writing, I could smell the hot chocolate and taste the chocolate cake. MMMM, my favorite.

I love this novella with its combination of supernaturals and humans that unite with a common goal, to stop the demon from coming through the veil and endangering Earth. I look forward to Ethereal, Book II coming soon.

A Terrific Start to a New Series!
When I saw this book, and read the synopsis, I knew that I had to read this book. It is totally no secret that I am a total lover of paranormal, my favorites being the vamps, but often people forget the about angels, in favor of the shifters, vamps, witches, fae, and all other manner of paranormal beings. This totally bums me out because some of the best books are about the angels! Put the angels on my #2 spot of favs. Don't worry though because this book features not just angels but many of the other paranormal creatures we all love to love. I absolutely devoured this book, I was hooked from page 1 and read it straight through, not wanting to put it down. Lost some sleep but it was totally worth it! This is not your average angel story to say the least, its new and fresh and unique. The author is so descriptive, the picture that she paints transports you right into the story. I really love Eva, she is a sweet, but determined, guardian angel who isn't great at her job, but she always tries her best. This is a fun, fast paced read and just left me wanting more. I am so glad that it is only the beginning of the series and can't wait for the next book to come out! I was generously given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was struggling with this book, honestly, until the very end where the romance saved the book. The blurb from the book definitely did not prepare me at all for the myriad of paranormal that is in this seriesI was expecting something more along the lines of Lauren Kate's Fallen series, where it pretty much sticks to angels and demons. This story was such a mishmash of paranormal creatures that my head was spinning.

The back story behind Eva and Soren wasn't really explained until much later in the book than I would have liked, and I feel that really needed to be explained a lot earlier in the book than it was.

I enjoyed how the interest free between Eva and Thomas, I think they make a food couple, and when it came down to it, Eva made the right decision between the two males cying for her attentions.

The book could have been longer with more explained, but it was a very quick read, with me being able to finish it in a day.

Although this is definitely not a genre I would normally read I did end up enjoying it. Of course being kind of ancient I had trouble keeping up with all the imaginary werewolves, gargoyles, ghosts, vampires, demons and assorted people who had the ability to perform magic! I really felt for Eva, the guardian angel who really wasn't too good at her job--but she tried so hard!! Of course the Three Fates had to make an appearance and I was routing for Eva!! How she got all those disparate entities to cooperate makes for really good reading.

This book is a fun read but please read before your teen or tween----there are parts that might not be appropriate for younger readers. You will probably enjoy it. I was just informed that it is considered Urban Fantasy and meant for adults!

if you like paranormal books you will like this book. There are plenty of angels, werewolves, gargoyles, elves and other mystical creatures/beings.

The story was enjoyable but there were lots of characters to keep track of and what their purpose was to the story. I liked the premise of the story, that an angel has a human counterpart in tracking down harmful magical beings.

I'm not huge into paranormal, it just depends on the book and how it grabs me. I'd give this 3 1/2 stars, it was good and I think the series has potential.

When Eva is summoned by the fates after her charge and her liaison die at the hands of her boyfriend, she listens to them banter about what to do with her. The deaths are not truly her fault, so how long does she end up in the Garden of Eden for, until she is sent back to Earth to meet up with her new liaison? What happens when twin brothers from the same constellation as Eva are found to be part of the mix? One of who has stayed on the side of goodness and the other turned to darkness after the death of his wife in the Summerfield? Who is kidnapped and why is it Eva’s responsibility to save this being? When she runs into her boyfriend again, she is very angry and ready to kill him, not having expected to see him again. How does it play out when ultimately Elsie will require help from full-blown angels, fae princesses, elves, gargoyles, vampires, and wolves in order to be saved? Who is behind her kidnapping? It will definitely surprise you! What happens to the Demon that has bonded her to him? When the rescue party goes in, it is funny, because the wolves are Native Americans and are burning sage to ward off negative energy around the outside of the warded area. With vampires being hell-damned creatures, it set me to giggling. What happens when Phenex has to face-off against his twin Paimon? Can Elsie be rescued? What about Levi’s girlfriend? Or even Levi for that matter?

This was such a different take on angels and the paranormal world. Not a traditional love story but there is love along the way. It shows up when you don't expect it. Eva is not very good at her job as a guardian angel but she tries at least. She has a one way ticket to hell if she screws up this mission so she is trying her best. Her new partner Thomas isn't making this any easier with his broody bad attitude but when things go way wrong she has her life in fates hands.

I like Eva she is simple and easy going, she tends to roll with the punches and doesn't let things get her down. When circumstances don't go her way it gets her down but she does her best to get it right the next go around.

Eva and Thomas are a great pair, at first Thomas had his head up his wazoo and was doing his best to give Eva a hard time. Then he changes his attitude and his personality switches that makes things more interesting. I loved the fact that all of the paranormal characters work together for the greater good. It brings a new kind of light to paranormal romance.

I am excited to read the next installment to this series so we can see what kind of trouble Eva can get herself into now. It just seems to follow her she has dumb luck. If you are looking for a quick read that is entertaining then this is the book you are looking for.

This is not the genre I usually read. However I knew I had to read it because the author is an online friend and amazing.

This book was a page turner from page 1. I couldn’t get enough of the story and would stay up late reading.

This book has all kinds of supernatural beings: fae, werewolf, demons and vampires. ..oh my!

The author is so talented she paints a vivid picture with her words and her stories always play out like a movie in my mind while reading.

I was anxious to see how it ended and was happy to find out it’s a part of a series and there is another book coming out. I can’t wait to read more about Eva and Thomas.

Eva is a guardian angel and Thomas is a human. They have an undenyable bond. The fact that Eva is not that good at her job doesn’t matter.

I received this book for free in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are 100% my own.

This book features not just angels but many of the other paranormal.I'm happy to report that this is not your same old angel story, it is unique and a very new take. The writing put you right there!
I loved Eva, she is sweet, strong, and best of all is not all that great at her job!! But she tries her best at it.

This was a brilliant read and a great start to the Olde City Angels Series.

Eva is a Guardian Angel who really isnt very good at her job, after one of her chargers of angel liaison dies she is given one more chance to redeem herself at the job. She is tasked with saving a Fae princess from the Demon Prince.

This was a fast paced read and I loved all the characters. Thomas is paired with Eva as her liaison, and he feels a little hatred towards her as he blames her for his uncles death, but as the book progresses they begin to come together and form a strong bond.

If you like paranormal then this is the series for your - its also about Angels, which for me a nice change from it always being vampire or werewolves as the main focus.

Poor Eva. She’s a Guardian Angel who lost both her charge and her human liaison while she was in Heaven doing paperwork. After being punished for 25 years, she is finally allowed back and given a new human liaison… Now she is going after one of her brothers, Paimon, an angel who fell during the big fight. He’s now a demon and using the granddaughter of the former King of the Fae to get himself into the Summerland.
This is an exciting non-stop book. We have Angels, Demons, Vampires, Shifters, Gargoyles and Fae, what’s not to love. It is a quick read and definitely made me wish that I had the 2nd book already to find out what happens next!! If you are a fan of paranormal books, I definitely recommend reading this book!!

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed yet not over created. The writer allows them to develop in a way that feels natural to the reader. I tend to worry about how a book is written more than just the plot etc. This book was very well written.
I did enjoy the story in this book also. Poor Eva has had more bumps in her road so to speak than most. Yet she really does try to be her best. Grab your copy to find out more.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It was such a pleasant change from the usual romances I read, I couldn't get enough and read well into the night just to finish it. The magical realm is a tangled Web of good and bad and none of the usual rules apply when everyone comes together in the most unusual circumstances. The only downside I can find after reading this one, is having to wait for book two to go on more adventures with these wonderful and interesting characters.
