Attempting to return to the Marvel Universe, the Black Knight Dane Whitman and Sersi are mistakenly transported to the 12th century where the Black Knight Eobar Garrington and his friend Bennet du Paris are crusaders!
Benjamin Raab (New York City, New York) is an American comic book writer and editor and tv writer and producer. He has written stories for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, WildStorm, Moonstone Books, Malibu Comics, Harris Publications and Ludovico Technique LLC.
A nice time-traveling story, or better yet, soul-traveling story of Black Knight's ancestors' through time. A nice adventure, an interesting origin of a villain in the modern era (while wrapping up his story nicely and filling any blanks for future stories to come) and a glimpse of the Apocalypse in post-ancient Egypt, but still there, ruling over everything. Solid artwork too. Even though I'm still not a big fan of Black Knight, because I see no personality in him whatsoever, the story was decent enough to overshadow the fact that he's just a "good guy" and got nothing else going on.
“I’m true to those who are true to me.” - Exodus
“Reaching her mind out to his with a caress so gentle so welcoming, she coaxes his soul from his body, and grants him the eternal peace he fought a lifetime to achieve.”
Okay, my high rating is more because of nostalgia than the actual quality of the comic. But come on, no young fan these days has any clue who Sersi is, let alone how she and Dane Whitman were telepathically bonded for years. And fans these days have no clue how Dane and Sersi had to deal with inter-company shenanigans. The backstory on how the two of them traveled to the Ultraverse and came back to the mainstream Marvel universe is convoluted and ludicrous from a modern perspective.
Anyway, this is a nice, self-contained little story about Dane and Sersi on their way home. Along the way they interact with Exodus and Apocalypse, which is mostly noteworthy because they're X-villains rather than Avengers villains. Nice change of pace.
Wow how about that for an origin of Exodus ?!!! I wasn't really a fan of the vocabularies used in this issue, I needed to translate much more words then usual. But i like the story i like it very much and i remember how black knight mentioned he knows exodus from somewhere in Bloodties crossover. Exodus from the age of the pharaoh apocalypse Wow and what a story really i am a sucker for origin stories i am always impressed by them like no other stories i read i don't know why. And i like how this turned out to be a crossover as well between avengers in sersi and black night and x-men in apocalypse and Exodus.
