Snuggle Time Prayers, written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Cee Biscoe, is a perfect bedtime collection of fifteen prayers. This padded cover board book will help children settle down at bedtime and remind them of their blessings as they draw closer to God.
I'm the author of forty+ books for children, including the best-selling Twas the Evening of Christmas, I Wonder: Exploring God's Grand Story, The Wonder That is You, and six popular series: Love Letters from God, Snuggle Time, Little Mole, Twas, Good News and Bedtime Blessings. Here's my little story...
Although I live in Michigan, USA, I was born and raised in a little village in northern England.
I grew up in a big old house, with two wonderful parents and seven siblings. My dad was the one who introduced me to the gospel. My mum was the one who encouraged me to work with children.
And at primary school, my teacher was the one who urged me to write. One day a week, I was one of the lucky few withdrawn from the classroom to sit in big, comfy armchairs in the teachers' lounge. There, in front of a roaring log fire, with pencil and paper at the ready, I would write.
Four long decades later, I would find myself living across the pond, married to a wonderful man, mum to four adult children and three daughters-in-law, and grandma to three bouncing boys and one gorgeous girl. And as if all that wasn’t blessing enough, I somehow became an author, despite giving up on my first book halfway through.
And if you would have told me then, that this book would one day become a series, that I would begin a second series, and a third… I never would have believed you. The only possible explanation is that our great God is able to do immeasurably more than all I could ever ask or possibly imagine.
Through Zonderkidz™, author Glenys Nellist and illustrator Cee Biscoe have created Snuggle Time Prayers, a cute board book of bedtime prayers intended for ages 2–4. It’s small enough for a young child to handle comfortably, which may help with engagement. The cover is a bit cushioned, which may help if not handled quite as well. ☺
The text consists of fifteen rhyming prayers base on a paraphrased verse of in the Bible (perhaps from the author or a translation for kids by Zondervan with which I am unfamiliar—there is no notation either way). Each takes up no more than two pages (no page turning needed) with accompanying anthropomorphic illustrations in full color (they appear to be soft pastels) appropriate for the content and easily incorporated as a teaching and learning opportunity.
Most of these prayers are not necessarily indicative of bedtime prayers, which extends its applicability. Not all children are going to relate well to each of the prayers, but there appears to be enough here to find a few for everyone. I would recommend using the book as a fun and helpful starting point from which parents and children pray in more specific and relatable ways.

A perfectly sized little book of assorted prayers to help guide your little one on a path of Godly living knowing that God is always there for him or her.
The sweetness of these illustrations by Cee Biscoe will capture your heart and that of your little one as well.
Clenys Neellist has penned some lovely lines of prayerful thoughts that can be read to the child at any time of the day or evening. Well, after all, any time is a good time for Snuggle Time Prayers.
Where's God? "You can be just as sure that my glory fills the whole earth" Numbers 14:21
God, you're in the sunshine. God, you're in the breeze. God, you're in the clouds above. God, you're in the seas.
God, you're in the moonlight. God, you're in the air. God, you're in the stars that shine. God, you're everywhere!
I highly recommend this sweet little book for shower gifts, grandma gifts, and just anytime or any occasion gifts for a mommy or a sweet little one to treasure.
I don't know what version of Scripture is being used and I am assuming it might be a paraphrase since I don't see acknowledgement of a version, The King James is my preferred version and the above verse would read..... "But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord." Numbers 14:21 (KJV)

Snuggle Time Prayers is a sturdy mid-sized board book for little ones. Each page has a lovely inspirational poem with accompanying illustrations that are generously sized, detailed and colorful. There are fifteen poems in all and each is based on Bible scripture.
I absolutely love children’s books that reinforce the idea that each of us has the ability to form a close connection with God by simply talking to Him. Bringing up children to recognize that God hears and listens to us when we speak to Him is so important, as it builds a firm foundation for a lifelong relationship with Him. Snuggle Time Prayers supports this concept. Although board books are usually geared towards younger children, this book will remain a useful tool as children grow older, since it can easily be used to expand upon scripture.
The only thing I would have liked to see was a signature (This Book Belongs To) page at the beginning of the book for gift-giving purposes. Even so, Snuggle Time Prayers would make an excellent baby shower or baptism gift for new parents. I would be happy to give this to one of my grandchildren. This is a book that should be well-loved for many years to come.

Snuggle Time Prayers by Glenys Nellist (Author), Cee Biscoe (Illustrator) is a darling board book offering geared toward children ages two to four years old. This book is meant to be read during nap, quite times or when turning in at night. It features fifteen prayers total that are based off Old and New Testament Bible scripture. The prayers are short and can serve as daily reminders of God's love, care, goodness ever presence, promises, and so forth.
The illustrations in this book are adorable. There are bears, monkey, bunnies, badgers, elephants, lambs, and mice! I adore the illustrations so much! Each prayer and picture illustration spans a 2-page spread. The prayers have a title, scripture verse, and a memorable prayer written in a rhyming way. Scriptures are familiar such as there being a time for everything (Ecclesiastics 3:1 ), The Lord is My Shepherd ( Psalm 23:1), Come Near to God (Jame 4:8), etc.

This little book, written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Cee Biscoe, is a cute little book perfect for young children. There are sixteen prayers in this little book, each accompanied by a scripture verse. Each prayer is a rhyming prayer based on the scripture verse provided. Rhyming helps in building vocabulary for early learners. Why not do so with prayers to God?
Biscoe’s illustrations fill two pages each. They are full color and bright. The animals bring to life the prayer that accompanies the illustration. My daughter at 14-months, enjoys flipping through the book, easy for her to do with the hard, board-like pages. The illustrations are attracting to her. The illustrations can also be used as a teaching tool.
When my children were little, the time before bed was especially sweet. We snuggled and bonded with a favorite book. Snuggle Time Prayers combines catchy rhymes, cute illustrations and God’s word to emphasize God’s love, provision and direction in all our lives, even the smallest child. I liked that the accompanying scripture for each prayer directs the words — a great lesson that God’s word is the basis for everything. This book is another great choice for family time.
Recommended.
Audience: children ages 2-4.

I bought this book for my 2 year old grandson. It will be a delightful addition to his bedtime routine. Little ones and adults alike will find much to enjoy and appreciate in the lovely, thoughtful poetic prayers and gorgeous illustrations within. Not only will it aid in settling a child for sleep, it will also introduce them to the idea of prayer and gentle biblical principles of how much God takes care of all of us. It's also a robust little book that will withstand being held, carried and opened by a toddler's eager hands.
This book is a beautiful little book. A board book strong enough to hold up to the rough and wild ways of toddlers. SNUGGLE TIME PRAYERS is a sweet collection of bedtime prayers for children. It is a sturdy board book with simply beautiful illustrations! Cee Biscoe is a wonderful artist, I'm impressed. The prayers are also beautiful. I really liked this book a lot. Perfect to read while you cuddle your favorite infant, toddler, or preschooler. Also great for church nurseries and daycares.
I love it and so do my kids. They always ask me to read it to them. Love that the book is really think and made for kids so I don't have to worry about my 1 year old ripping it
Cute mostly-bedtime prayers for little ones. Each prayer begins with a short Bible verse that the prayer is based on. The prayers are short -- each 8 lines.
I love children's bedtime for all the obvious reasons but also because it is such a wonderful time of snuggling and breathing in the aroma of freshly bathed little ones. In our home we always read a book or two before tucking our kiddos in. I'm careful about selecting what we will read. Just as I want them to begin their day with a story about Jesus I also want them to end their day that way.
When you see the name Glenys Nellist on the cover you can be assured that the words contained within will point you to Jesus. In Snuggle Time Prayers Glenys gives us fifteen prayers to share with our kids. Each section begins with a verse of Scripture and then has a rhyming prayer. Just think you're already beginning to teach your little one how to pray back the words of God! That's a lifelong benefit that you are instilling.
The book itself is beautifully illustrated by the talented Cee Biscoe. All of the sweet little animals pictured are absolutely adorable. So soft and cuddly! The book is a padded board book that is sturdy enough to stand up to multiple readings from little hands.
If you are looking for a new bedtime book for your nightly routine I highly recommend this one. The words are ones that are sure to be remembered and the pictures are a treat as well.
