No! And I mean NO!

Gahhh! Can someone be more of an idiot than the female main char from this book? Ok, probably, but really, I wouldn't want to find out.

So, this girl (she's 30 something but I can't call her anything else) is a spoiled little brat with big daddy issues. She has all the money in the world, but boo hoo, her daddy doesn't love her! So she decides to become a slut. But wait! She doesn't really want to be one! She's just confused! She wants to change but noo, she wants her daddy to love her! It's not like she can do anything with her life... I mean, all she does all day is go out, complain about being a slut and saying she hates herself, then at night she goes out and guess what?! Yup, she acts like a little bitch while thinking that "ohh, poor little me! I need to change, people treat me bad, I wonder why!"

And then she starts to have problems (yes, I did manage to read enough to see what happens. I guess I like to suffer). And she wonders why she has them!

Gahhhh! How can anyone be that much of an idiot? Or a spoiled little brat?!
Maybe I'm being harsh... Ok, on second thought, nope, I'm not.

Throughout the whole book my face was like this

I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The expected publication date is April 12, 2016.

This is book three in the Game on series however can be read as a stand alone novel. In fact I do not recall any mention of the characters from the 2nd story as I did have the opportunity to read the previous novel Line of Scrimmage. I was curious to see where this one took me.

I will start by saying this story was so much better than the second one (I have not read the first one). The male lead was a lot more likeable and the chemistry seemed to go beyond just the physical...although that was also an element.

I like the concept of Rafe trying to protect Tyler and at the same time fight his feelings for her. The battle of trying to keep her safe while locking his feelings away was believable and a good concept for a story. We all know how well this works out though.

I also like the fact that you could see the transition of Tyler from a girl with a chip on her shoulder to a girl who she actually liked. The fact that she received so many compliments when she left her "war paint" off sends a good message about how it is what is on the inside that really counts. Not that I think this story was meant to be that deep, nonetheless it was still there. A lot of people I know could learn from her transition.

If you like your bedroom scenes, or shower or wherever hot, then this story also offers that up for you. Holt delivers some steam as I have come to expect from her stories.

This was a good story that offered a nice distraction for me. Although after reading two in the series I am no closer to becoming a football fan, I was still entertained.

Rafe is an ex football star turned bodyguard. He keeps it simple and he tries to stay away from the woman who ties him up in knots but with someone stalking Tyler he gets a lot closer to her then he expected.

Tyler lost her mother at a young age and her father wasn't really there for her. Now as an adult she lives a reckless life but lately she has been wanting to change. When someone starts sending her creepy messages and texts she goes to Rafe to see if he can help but the more time she spends with him the more she wants him in her bed.

I really did have a love/ hate relationship with these two characters. Okay so they have been crushing on each other for 10 years but stayed away from each other because she is the daughter who owns the team. That I totally get but Rafe has total ass moments and literally insults Tyler left and right then apologizes. Did Rafe get tired of doing this dance with her? Nope because it happens over and over again which got a little on my nerves. Only when these two started sleeping together did Rafe finally realize maybe he was wrong about her.

Although I liked this story with the whole stalker thing but I would have liked to have a little more of a mystery on who it actually was. I was expecting more of maybe a football romance but I am glad Holt switched it up and made it about Tyler which I found a little refreshing.

This book might not have been my favorite book to date in this series but I think this series is still growing and has a lot of potential. Hopefully in the next book we will get more football and I am looking forward to the next adventure Holt has in store.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Bodyguards. Of course, they are going to be hot. I mean, we all watched The Bodyguard, right? It's just really easy for a girl to fall for the bodyguard because that man keeps you safe, your life is sort of in their hands, they do everything to protect you, and they are always with you. I think this is what I really liked about the book. I liked the heroine, so reading about her and the hero was simply a joy. Plus, the little suspense injected into the story elevated it from being just another sports contemporary romance.

However, this book is far from perfect. I love the story, but I think there are little things, details, that still needed to be ironed out. The book didn't feel as smooth and as flowing as I would have liked. I enjoyed it a lot, yes, but I would have really loved it if the imperfections were removed. Still, I trust Ms. Holt and her ability to give her fans and readers a good love story, which is why I will definitely be watching out for more books in this series.

Formal review to come, but my short take is that while the writing is quite good and the author tells a story well, the story itself, particularly the romance, was lacking for me. It had potential but unfortunately did not live up to it.

*Updated with AAR review*

Football season is over, but if you're jonesing for the gridiron, a football themed romance might help. While there is not a lot of actual ball playing involved, Pass Interference features characters from the San Antonio Hawks football team.

Growing up the daughter of the owner of the Hawks, Tyler Gillette has had enough exposure to football to last a lifetime. She wants nothing to do with the organization or any of its players, only occasionally making appearances at charity events for the sake of keeping her considerable trust fund. Tyler has Daddy Issues, though, and really, just issues in general. Feeling that her father has always paid more attention to his football team than to being a dad, she attempts to embarrass him at every opportunity by behaving outrageously. Her antics have finally landed her in a heap of trouble though, as she has acquired a stalker who persistently calls and texts her while leaving threatening messages.

When she once again finds herself in a dangerous situation, Tyler calls on Rafe Ortiz, the head of security for the Hawks and their former running back. Rafe finds himself a reluctant rescuer of the spoiled party girl. Once the truth is revealed about her stalker and the incidents begin to escalate, Rafe is charged with protecting the woman to whom he is extremely attracted. The feeling is mutual and the pair must spend time in close proximity to one another as danger closes in on Tyler.

I liked the premise of the story quite a bit. Tyler grew up in the shadow of the Hawks and has no interest in dating a football player, current or former. She’s attracted to Rafe though, and being forced to spend time together while he is acting as her bodyguard could have made for good conflict. Conflict they do, but it’s not in an enjoyable way.

3.5 stars

There was much I enjoyed about Pass Interference by Desiree Holt, but it was not without its problems. At times I felt it was a bit uneven; the characters personalities shifted a lot and their background wasn't developed very well, the plot was good, a bit suspenseful and exciting, and while I enjoyed the way these two fell for one another I really would have loved them to spend more time getting to know one another better before the rush to the "I Love You" stage. All that being said, there were moments in this book that were brilliant; this author always writes hot and fulfilling sexual encounters and there are plenty in this book, the suspense angle was complicated and intriguing given the circumstances, and the secondary characters were interesting especially Tony Castillo who was somewhat of an older advisor to both the hero and heroine.

I'll be flat out honest and say I had some real issues with heroine Tyler Gillette; a 32 year old woman with daddy issues who doesn't work, lives off her trust fund, and hangs out in less than desirable places and picks up less than desirable men all in the hopes of getting her father's attention. While I get that she was harboring resentment that her father neglected her following her mother's death at age 10 and poured his heart and soul into the football team he owns there also comes a time when you either get some counseling and figure out your OWN issues and you realize that your father is a human being who makes mistakes and he was grieving his wife's death and was inadequately prepared to be a single parent. I appreciated the transformation this character went through during this book, but it happened a bit too quickly for me and honestly it seemed for the wrong reasons. Tyler was a mess there is no doubt and she is someone who needed outside approval to feel good about herself and I would have liked to see more of her accepting herself, learning she was worthy on her own and more self reflection. I did like that she connected on a different level with Rafe, but for me they really needed more time together for their relationship to gel.

As someone who hates the entitled prim donnas that so many football players seem to be, I loved that former San Antonio running back now security specialist Rafe Ortiz was a stand up man, a man who didn't let fame and fortune go to his head, a man who lived his life clean and kept himself out of trouble, a man who had standards and a man who didn't think a whole lot of the lifestyle kept by the Hawks owner's daughter, Tyler. For the most part I really liked Rafe; at times I didn't like some of the things he said to Tyler, but I understood that came somewhat out of frustration from the way she lived her life. I do believe Rafe was a good man to the core and that while he didn't approve of the way Tyler had chosen to live her life he also saw there was more to her than she persona she shares with the world. Just the fact that despite his feelings towards Tyler that when she calls him and he realizes she's in trouble, he drops everything and rushes to help is a testament to his dedication to her father and his need to protect. Rafe was very good for Tyler and helped her to see that she needed to make changes in her life even if at times he came across as judgmental and a bit harsh.

With Tyler being stalked and Rafe in charge of her protection things get very interesting very quickly. At first I didn't feel the attraction between these two, animosity yes but attraction not so much. That changed very quickly but it was evident Rafe was going to fight it and Tyler was going to do everything to act upon it. For Rafe giving into his attraction for Tyler made him feel like he failed, but even after their first time together it was obvious there was a connection between them, one that changed rapidly and one that changed Tyler's life in many ways.

Sometimes a story just needs more and that was the case with Pass Interference; Rafe's character was a bit underdeveloped, Tyler needed more time to come into her own before entering into a serious relationship, Tyler's relationship with her father needed more resolution, and Rafe and Tyler needed more time to really get to know each other. I enjoyed the budding relationship between Rafe and Tyler and felt like Rafe was good for her, however I'm not really what she brought into the relationship. This has been a hard review for me to write because while I had issues with this book; the bones of the story were really good, but it needed more to be spectacular.

When a tragedy changes your life and the dynamics of your household it can also change the course of your future. If you have no one to guide you or and adult to point that out especially. This is exactly what happened to Tyler Gillette.
You see Tyler’s mother passed away when she was ten at the time. Even though she had lost her mom it felt like she lost both parents. You see her dad dealt with his grief by throwing himself into everything Hawk’s related. His previous football team came first above all else but especially above her.
She tried everything to get him to notice her and to please him. To show him she was and could be as good as a son he always wanted instead of her, a girl. Nothing, not a damn thing worked. He wasn’t happy with her, angry with her, nope he was nothing he just ignored her. In fact he sent her away with money and told her to keep busy. The fact that she had, his way of thinking, insulted him she being a daughter after all and not a son made it worse. Giving her a boy’s name didn’t change a thing.
So naturally she went to the deeper end of the pool to get a response which for sure finally got at least an eyebrow raised. She started outrageous behavior and kept upping her game until he was tearing his hair out. All because she just wanted him to love her and notice her.
All this at what cost? Her rep, friends, and a real relationship. Although the only relationship she truly wanted and fantasied about she knew would never happen. That would be with Rafe Ortiz. He was a former Hawks player and who was currently head of her father’s security detail at the stadium.
The first time she saw Rafe he had just been signed and she was in college all of twenty he was twenty-two. I despised all things Hawks, football, and football players. But my heart, body and eyes knew what it wanted. It wanted Rafe Ortiz.
The first time Rafe ever saw Tyler he was a lost cause. He knew if he ever tried it would be a career ender for sure. Not to mention she was too young. So the discipline he learned on the field he used off the field especially when he was around her. All the more when they made eye contact because he saw that she wanted him too. He could see that she was one hot mess.
Then one night he’s playing cards with his buddies and a call comes in and he sees it’s her. He’s wondering how she got his number. After some bantering he hears the fear in her voice and he responds to that. He ask where she is and she names the dive bar and he has a snide remark they have a heated word until he hears someone banging on the door to the bathroom and calling her foul names. He tells her to lock it he’s on his way.
A few days go by she calls him again out to her house this time they banter again she tells him forget it when he continues to insult her about her rep. Finally he hears the real fear and agrees to show up. Again the banter—insults—make up to which he fact finds she has a stalker. Now that’s a game changer for him. She sees she needs a change too…
I enjoyed this book. It had a lot of action with the whole stalker situation but the bantering and love story was so good also it really had you from the beginning. I give this 5 stars.

Over and over and over again people have told me I should pick up a Desiree Holt book. I’m sure friends always recommend her work since I enjoy reading erotica, but people also seem to comment on her ability to write likable characters. I, therefore, had pretty high expectations when I picked up Pass Interference. Pass Interference also interested me due to it being a sports romance. See, I’m on an athletes kick lately...a really long and involved athletes kick. This book was a chance for me to not only read more of what I was currently loving but also branch out away from the hockey boys that had been dominating my life, and move onto a different kind of athlete.

The Good
-The character Tony added a thoughtful element to the book. It’s not often that we get to see acquaintances of the heroine that are significantly older and friends of a parental figure play a role in the romance or in character development. It was interesting to see Tony speak not only to Rafe’s attraction to Tyler but also get his perspective on Tyler’s father after her mother died.

The Bad
-I’ve read the general idea of this book before...the heroine felt ignored by her parent(s) who were successful members of a sports community, so she acts out and then has some sort of “come to Jesus” moment where her life changes and she’s decide to now take on a relationship with the man she’s always wanted. Yep, I’ve read this general idea before.
-Although this book can be read as a stand-alone I felt like I was missing pieces of the puzzle. I’m going to take a guess in saying that Rafe’s friends at the gala were the heroes of the previous Game On books, but without knowing anything about Rafe (where is he from, does he have a family, etc.) I’m just not sure how his friends fit in. It’s almost like he doesn’t have a life outside his football career and his ex-coach, Tyler’s father. All this leads to Rafe feeling pretty one-dimensional.

The Unique
-All though I’d categorize this book as a contemporary romance, it certainly had suspenseful elements woven in. Without the stalker element Tyler and Rafe may have never lived together and Tyler and her Father may not have begun to reconcile, so from a plot perspective the suspenseful element makes total sense. What the stalker storyline also showcased was Holt’s talent for writing in different genres and blending them together seamlessly. Pass Interference also had strong erotic elements, sports elements and protector elements...and it covered a whole lot of romance tropes all in one read. The good thing about Holt’s ability to blend writing genres and tropes was that I didn’t notice distinct sections of the book or plot as having different voices or a different tone. Only after I read the book (in one sitting) and reflecting on it did I realize how many genres were really working in tandem.

No matter how hard she tries Tyler Gillette has never been able to separate herself from her father's shadow or the football team that he owns. She has never had to want for anything, her dad has always made sure of that, but what she would love more than anything was that instead of being showered with gifts, she actually have his time and attention. She has always felt that his precious football team came before her, and for that reason she has built up a resistance to the players, and made the decision to never get herself mixed up with one, since they represent to the very thing she has despised for so long. But now that she is being stalked, and harassed by an unknown man she must go against everything she has ever believed and put her safety into the hands of one of her father's precious players... and it just so happens to be the one who managed to sneak under her radar and capture her attention a few years ago. Rafe Ortiz has had a starring role in her fantasies for some time now, and the idea of putting her safety in his hands has her a little on edge... and running a little hot!!

After putting his time in on the field and retiring from the game Rafe Ortiz decided to hang up his cleats, for job as head of security for the team he once played for, the San Antonio Hawks. When he learns that his bosses daughter has a stalker, and her life is in danger he goes against her wishes and notifies her father, and he immediately insists on providing her with a bodyguard. While Rafe agrees that a bodyguard is just what she needs, he doesn't agree that it should be him doing the guarding, but his boss insists, because he knows he can trust Rafe to keep her safe. Rafe has his reservations about spending so much time with the pampered princess, because the last time they were in close quarters together she made a move on him, and it was all he could do to resist her. Now he has to find a way to keep her safe, and keep his feelings for her in check...

The minute I read the synopsis for this one I knew it was going to be a read that I could completely submerse myself into, and enjoy, and I have to stay my first instincts were spot on...barely a chapter into it and I was in deep, and loving every minute of it!! I was completely captivated by Rafe and Tyler's story... so much so, I sailed through this book in less than 24 hours! It was beautifully written, with a highly engaging story line, thrilling mystery that kept me guessing until the very end, and two very like-able characters with undeniable chemistry that warmed up the pages!!

If you haven't read a book by this author and I HIGHLY recommend you give her books a try...they are certain to score a special place in your heart!!

Tyler Gillette, party girl and daughter of the owner of the San Antonio Hawks Football team has always been in the shadows of the football team and wealth/fame that comes with it. Embracing her wild side, she is known to be the girl at the bar getting drunk and causing trouble with the men she encounters. At 32, how long can Tyler keep this lifestyle up? Especially when someone from her past starts threatening her life.

Rafe Ortiz, former Hawks running back, works in the security business that partners with the Hawks. He quickly finds himself helping the beautiful disaster, Tyler Gillette, when her father appoints him to be her bodyguard. How is he supposed to think clearly when Tyler ignites his desires every time she is around? Can he keep her safe from the lurking dangers?

What a fun, refreshing and captivating story! I really enjoyed the premise of this book. The football, the football heiress, the impending danger and the hot bodyguard! Desiree Holt does a wonderful job of pulling all of these things together to make a thrilling story that I could NOT put down. I also really enjoyed the characters, Tyler and Rafe. (It’s very refreshing to have “different” names for the main characters, I really like them!)

Tyler starts off as a very immature, party-loving brat. Her immaturity seems extremely excessive for a 32 year old woman but I understand that her circumstances/past made her the person she is in the beginning of this book. As the story progresses, we see why Tyler is harboring pain and hate towards her father, she has always felt that he loves his sports team and wealth over her. I definitely think Tyler’s feelings are justified but at the same time I wish she would have been more adamant or clear to her father that she was upset. (It would have been nice to see her trying to reach out, but at this point she has given up). She is convinced that he wanted a son…hence her name “Tyler.” Clearly there are some deep seeded issues between them and Tyler doesn’t want to address the issues. It takes her life being in danger to make them come together. Towards the end, I really like Tyler. She has the most growth throughout the story and I enjoyed seeing it. Rafe is also a great character. He is handsome, caring, protective and well rounded. He really pushes Tyler to grow up and forces her to realize what she wants to do in life….and I love that! Rafe and Tyler’s chemistry is HOT!

Overall, I enjoyed this read! I wish there would have been more “danger” moments that we could have witnessed. Like seeing “the stalker” almost get Tyler or to even have a “close call” encounter. I was already on the edge of my seat but I would have been even more emotionally invested if something more would have happened.

Read this! It will hook you!

Tyler Gillette and Rafe Ortiz have been on each other's radar since he was drafted into her father football team the San Antonio Hawks when she was just 17 years old. Rafe was warned to stay away from the boss's daughter, and he did. He followed the high road, being a hard working, goal oriented player as well as having high moral standards and integrity, with his ethics never being compromised by scandal or shame. Even now the former NFL star running back, works for his beloved San Antonio Hawks as the chief of security. Rafe has rules that he lives by 1. No weaknesses. 2. No babysitting spoiled football princesses. Even one that he has been secretly attracted to since he was brought to the San Antonio Hawks over 13 years ago.

Tyler Gillette has rules too. No football players. Being the daughter of the owner of The San Antonio Hawks, she has always felt like she lived in the football players shadows, being invisible when it came to getting any attention whether good or bad from her father. So to try to capture her father's attention Tyler has taken the low road earning a party girl reputation as well as a scandalous and wild reputation. She is known for drinking to much and being in the bars that are on the seedy side of town. But how much longer can Tyler keep up this wild side that is not really her. Well all it takes is one night, with a man that wants more than she is willing to give and she finds herself locked in a bathroom with no friends to come to rescue her, when she makes a phone call to Rafe Ortiz the only person that gets paid to not say no to her. But soon there are more concerns for Rafe to consider when Tyler start receiving threats from someone, and he has been given the job to keep her safe by her father.

So what will happen behind closed doors when these two stop fighting their attraction to one another and succumb to the sizzling chemistry? Will Rafe be able to take the high road or will all roads lead to the bedroom? Will they catch who is behind the threats or will they get away, while Rafe is concentrating on Tyler? You will have to read to find out.

CLIFF HANGER: No

4 Stars

This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I enjoyed it. There are steamy sex scenes and some crude language, so if that’s not your type of romance book, then stop right here.

Tyler Gillette is a mess. She dates the wrong men, she drinks too much and lives off of her trust fund. Oh yes, she was born the wrong gender, her father wanted a son. She also hates football! Tyler is the only child of a wealthy widowed father, who ignored her throughout her life after her mother died. Even her out of control behavior didn’t faze her father. He is the owner of an NFL football team and has entrenched himself in his job.

Tyler has tried everything to get her father’s attention and she is now in her early thirties and gets a huge wake-up call after an aggressive admirer and an unknown stalker wouldn’t take no for an answer. She calls her father’s head security to help bail her out of the situations. This man is none other than the man of her dreams and desires, retired football player, Rafe Ortiz.

Rafe has always been a very controlled and disciplined man. That’s how he has succeeded in his professional and personal life. He doesn’t have the patience or time to babysit a trust fund princess. He despises the lifestyle that Tyler has led and he lets her know it.

Tyler and Rafe have known each other casually for over 10 years and both have harbored desires for each other, but Rafe gave the impression he wasn’t interested. He kept his desires to himself. Until one night his passion for Tyler could not be ignored.

This book deals second chances at living the life you have always wanted and the journey to get there through many trying times. This is a great read if you want a love story with a little drama and suspense thrown in.

In this age of elite sportsmen it’s unusual to encounter a man who is honest, has high moral standards and a wealth of integrity too. Rafe Ortiz may be a former NFL superstar, but during his time on the filed his ethics have never been questioned and his name was free of scandal and shame. So enduring a decade of desire and attraction for the scandalous party girl Tyler Gillette, both during his playing days and since his retirement, has remained his closely kept secret.

Tyler is on a mission of self-destruction, and definitely succeeds in alienating those who would even remotely consider caring for the Hawk’s Princess. Fighting a twenty-year losing battle to gain her father’s attention, Tyler continues to place herself in dubious situations within the media focus, adding to the bad press that has plagued her for most of her adult life.

But someone has decided that Tyler is their personal property and with a stalker on the loose, extreme measures are put in place to secure her safety and hopefully capture a sick and twisted predator. However, the closely guarded secret of a mutual simmering desire is about to be put to the test when Tyler’s father requests that Rafe, in his role as head of Hawk’s Security, personally see to Tyler’s care and safety as his primary goal.

There are times through this story that some may feel Rafe’s snide insulting comments are rude and uncalled for, but based on Tyler’s decade long public behaviour and Rafe’s need to remain professional and distance himself from the burning attraction to the boss’s daughter, it is really quite understandable and written in the context of the story and its focus.

I actually loved this story and feel it is one of the best of the series so far.

A good book but not what I expected for this series that has great potential but seems to fully blast.
The plot was good, a mix of romance and mistery, suspenseful and sexy. This author is always great to create hot scenes.
I liked more the hero, Rafe Ortiz, then the heroine, Tyler Gillette.
Rafe is a former football player, now a security guard. I liked him, he's a good man, loyal, smart, one you can trust. He knows what fame and fortune are, but this hasn't changed him, living a simple life, staying out of trouble. His lifestyle is the opposite of Tyler 's.
At the beginning I really disliked Tyler. She is a grown woman acting like a teenager, asking for attention, with a difficult relationship with his father. Her behavior put her in danger, and the first time it happened I thought she was a really stupid little brat.
For 10 years Rafe and Tyeler had stayed away from each other, even if attracted. And when Tyler draw too much attention on her to the point to put her life at risk, Rafe is called to save and protect her.
I know that under Tyler 's attitude there is a woman who is suffering and seeking for her father's love. There is that little child who lost a mother and need to be loved and not covered with money. When Rafe comes to her rescue, something changes. The never extinguished flame blast alive between them. It's not an Hearts and flowers relationship. They both have to compromise, to face their unsolved issues. I loved the good influence Rafe has on Tyler and also on her father.
I liked the mistery and the action, but I would have loved to see more about Rafe.
This is book 3 in the Game On series and can be read as a standalone.

My first book by Desiree Holt, Pass Interference is the third book in Game On Series.

This is the story of Tyler and Rafe. Both Tyler and Rafe are attracted to each other, but they stay away for a decade, because Tyler is the daughter of the football team Rafe plays for and because Tyler's father's only order to Tyler - stay away from his players!

Few years later, Rafe is no longer playing football, but is her father's security head and still stays away, whereas, Tyler's father did not know how to handle her when she was growing and as a result, she went off rails. Now she lives a wild life just to irritate her father, a way to get back for being ignored all along.

Tyler is trying to change her ways, Rafe is leading his own life, but what happens when fate brings them together - Tyler is being stalked and she needs protection. Who better to protect her than Rafe, who her father trusts completely? Can they fight their attraction for each other when they're forced to stay close? Can Rafe protect her if he is distracted by her? Do they get their HEA? Guess, you will have to read to find out ;).

The journey of Tyler and Rafe was good. Though Rafe doesn't understand what Tyler is going through, he comes around later though. He understands her and stops insulting her, while trying to help her. I loved how she knew she can trust him, even when they weren't talking to each other and insulting each other left, right and center! This was a romantic and heartwarming story that I enjoyed.

I have really enjoyed this series and I wasn't going to write a review for this book after reading some of the other reviews I thought I would be nice to see a more positive review. This is the story of Rafe and Tyler both of whom are really attracted to the other but have never acted on it until Tyler gets in trouble and needs his help. Tyler is a girl that it would be easy to dislike - spoilt brat, no job, lives off a trust fund - but I actually found myself feeling really sorry for Tyler from the beginning, the author has done a good job making her seem very human while adding that little bit of spoilt princess in there (but not enough for me to dislike her). I enjoyed the fact that Rafe wasn't a player and he was a decent human being with morals. I also enjoyed the drama in the story with the stalker and all the people it could be, there were 2 contenders it definitely could have been and I was wondering until the end. I will say that goodreads says this book is 250, it's not it's only 190, and if felt like the story flew probably because it was a little on the short side. I would have liked to see a little more of Rafe and Tyler together as a couple, and an epilogue is something I love in a book but there wasn't one in this book which I found a little disappointing so it would be nice to see within the next few books of this series (I know there is a fourth and I hope Desiree Holt doesn't stop there) an epilogue where we see all the characters from the series in the future.

Tyler Gillette is tired of her party girl lifestyle. She's tired of trying to shock her father, who isn't paying attention anyway. She's tired of men thinking that no really means yes. She's tired of the mask she lives behind, and she's tired of Rafe thinking she's trash.
Tyler is Kurt Gillette's only child, but according to her, she comes second to his football team the San Jose Hawks. Rafe is her fathers head of security and the object of her desire. He is also the man Tyler turns to when the threatening phone calls increase.
When Kurt finally gets involved, his idea is to have Rafe guard Tyler 24/7. While she's excited at the prospect of having unfettered access to Rafe, she knows that Rafe only sees her as a job. But when she starts to seduce him, will he see her as more than a job? And when her stalker amps up his pursuit, will the person be caught in time?
This was a good story. I liked that the romance aspect took its time to gel. I liked that Tyler finally realized that in order for others to love her, she had to learn to love herself and I loved that the stalker wasn't obvious. But once Rafe and Tyler solidified their attraction to each other, the story kind of ends. It also never resolved the daddy/daughter issue that was pretty much the theme of this book. I expected a huge mea culpa scene, but I was left with an apology and a "let's do lunch and talk" ending. Bit of a let down.

Overall, I enjoyed reading Pass Interference by author Desiree Holt and she did a good job with the storytelling and I also love romantic suspense. I have to admit I didn't like the heroine, Tyler for most of the book because she came across as a very unlikable person until she started to be herself instead of the persona she showed to the public. She also had issues with her dad and their lack of communication and her hatred for her dad's football team, The Hawks, caused a rift between these two which was repeatedly mentioned in the book. The hero, Rafe was a sexy ex-football player turned bodyguard who's fought his attraction to Tyler for years in respect to her father but when she calls him for help, he cannot deny her. He fights his desire for her and there were times he acted like a jerk to keep distance between them. The author knows how to keep the sexual tension going in scenes and turn up the heat in sex scenes. I liked them together once they stopped fighting their feelings and acted like a couple. I loved when Rafe got in protective mode as he tracked down her stalker. It was great to see Tyler and her dad make peace but it would have been nice to have a scene where they actually talked things out. This was a great addition to the Game On series.

I really enjoy the storyline to Pass interference it was the perfect balance between romance and suspense. It kept my attention the whole way through and kept me thinking what next?
Tyler has built up her life to protect herself and keep her father far away from her, she starts to realise she doesn't like what she sees when she looks in the mirror and after it becomes clear she has a stalker she starts to think maybe her lifestyle has finally caught up with her. The only positive to having a stalker is she has to spend 24/7 being protected by the man who has plagued her dreams for years. Rafe.
Rafe has spent years trying to hide his feelings for Tyler he doesn't agree with her lifestyle but he senses that it may all by a front. When he's asked to protect her by her father until her stalker is caught the real Tyler slowly starts to unravel and Rafe has a hard time keeping control of his feelings.
This is a great story and I loved how Tyler starts to become the person she wants to be and rebuild her relationship with her father. I will definitely be reading the other books in the series.

This one still has me shaking my head. I have to admit I really enjoyed this book although the main female character drove me crazy. Tyler is reckless, wild, and honestly not very likeable. Rafe on the other hand is yummy perfection. Ex football player now head of security for the football team Tyler's father owns. These two have a very strained love/hate relationship but he knows he has to do whatever it takes to keep her safe when he finds out she has gotten herself into something more than she can handle. He doesn't approve of the life style she's living but getting her to change may not be so easy and until she changes her ways, trouble will always find her.

While I mostly just wanted to give Tyler a good shake, I did enjoy watching the relationship between Rafe and Tyler develop into more than bodyguard/protectee. The chemistry between the characters was fantastic and you just know that at the heart of her Tyler is just a hurt woman acting out.

This is a book I would recommend.

A cute love story between two individuals who try to convince themselves that they hate one another and shouldn't be together. When Tyler's life is in danger, Rafe does what is requested of him by her father and moves into her home to protect her full time. Tyler finally stops fighting the attraction to Rafe and instead sees this as an opportunity to seduce him.

There were two main things about this story that prevented me from giving it more than 3 stars. The first is the mystery of who her stalker was; I thought it was clear from the beginning who it was. I was disappointed that the author didn't attempt to put more of a twist on it or introduce other, more viable, possibilities. The second issue was the conflict between Tyler and her father; there was just no closure to the issue. I wanted a heart to heart with them where he could explain and apologize but it never came.

Overall not a bad story, but I think it could have been better.

I finished this one yesterday and decided to think on it a bit before I wrote the review. There were parts I really liked, and there were parts that I had issues with and I was not really sure which of the reactions was stronger.

After thinking, they are about equal because they are really both sides of the same issue.

I liked the characters, but at the same time they frustrated me.

I liked the chemistry, but it was too late in the book and after a lot of back and forth on the characters.

I felt, rather ironically, that the resolution of the push and pull with them was oddly quick...yet at the same time, it took the whole book to get to it.

I thought the "who" of the stalker situation was obvious enough that it would take a Jr. detective all of an hour to have a top suspect, but at the same time, watching how other people reacter to "both" Tylers was interesting.

See what I mean? I am still not decided.

I really really loved the first one in this series but I've felt let down by the past two. The male MC was always saying really horrible things to the female MC and putting her down, and she she puts up with it! If anything, it made her try even harder which drove me nuts! I also thought the "I love yous" came out of nowhere. He was just telling her earlier that day that they couldn't be with her and he hated her lifestyle, but then a couple hours later he loves her? The relationship between her and her father was extremely strained at the beginning but after one conversation she's okay with him again...? Ugghh...it was all just a little too much. I guessed the identity of the stalker within the first 25% of the book....

So much more than I expected. Rafe has kept his feelings for the bosses daughter under wraps. He is not sure where the father and daughter relationship stands he just knows she is off limits. He doesn't agree with her little lifestyle in the least.
Tyler despises everything football the only child her father has recognized for years. She is starting to see that she is not happy with the woman in the mirror. Another bar and her suitor gets a bit carried away with no other options she calls Rafe. He is sexy, commanding, and has even been the star of her late night fantasies. He also works for her father and is a retired football player.....off limits..
Tyler finds herself in more danger than she realizes and soon she and Rafe are together more than ever. The flames are not to be extinguished just has oil added to them.

Pass interference was interesting read. It is The writing was good. The character well develop and interesting. I did not like Tyler at all. It was perfect clear why Rafe didn’t want to do anything with the tipe of person she was. But it was really great to see her change in the end and her determination to become a better person. Rafe was really atypical for football player very strong character and disciplined especially when it comes to Tyler.
Good very intense story with good plot. I loved it how tension escalate and that suspect is unknown until very least. Of course there is a lot of sexual tension between Tyler and Rafe and when it explodes it is very hot and sizzling.

Rafe is asked to keep an eye on Tyler after her father learns that someone has been stalking her. Rafe and Tyler have both been harboring secret feelings for each other for years, but never acted on them. Tyler always vowed never to date football players since football always seemed to come first in her father's life. And Rafe always thought that Tyler's excessive lifestyle meant she was nothing more than a spoiled princess. Soon Rafe realizes that he has been wrong about Tyler all along and Tyler feels that maybe she should take a chance on Rafe. As her stalker escalates, Tyler realizes that she's going to have to trust Rafe if she wants to stay alive. A nail-biting suspense with plenty of steaminess thrown in! 5 stars!

The steam that flows between Tyler and Rafe is quite explosive:
“We’re not doing this—”
“I said don’t say anything,” she reminded him, pressing her hand against his mouth.
“— in the kitchen,” he finished. “If I’m going to hell, I’m doing it in a bed.” He lifted her in his arms and strode to the stairs...
Rafe can be quite violent when it comes to protecting his woman, “I wanted to tear that effing b******d limb from limb.” He sighed. “But knowing he’ll spend a good many years in jail is almost as satisfying.” I loved this book Rafe was a great sexy man.
