The bloody finale of the best-selling digital-first series that leads into the hit video game!
The Thunder God Raiden and his champions saved Earthrealm from the Elder God Shinnok and his undead army, but a greater threat now rises on the shores of Shang Tsung’s Island. Havik, the Cleric of Chaos, has allied himself with General Reiko, who has been made unkillable by the same Kamidogu Blood Majik that enhances his forces and possesses the daughters of Sonya Blade, Johnny Cage, and “Jax” Briggs—as well as Raiden himself.
To stop Reiko from becoming a Blood God and Havik from obtaining the all-powerful Amulet of Shinnok, Earthrealm and Outworld’s greatest Kombatants must put aside their mutual hatred and join forces. But when the combined might of Kotal Kahn, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and Ermac isn’t enough to turn their foes into fatalities, all hope for Earthrealm’s salvation may rest with the least likely hero—Scorpion’s lowly apprentice, Takeda Takahashi!
From writer Shawn Kittelsen and artists including Dexter Soy ( DC Universe Vs. Masters of The Universe ), Igor Vitorino ( Green Hornet ) and Daniel Sampere ( Batgirl ), Mortal Kombat X Vol. 3: Blood Island collects issues #9-12.
Awesome again!! A light story for sure, nothing deep here, but that's not what we're looking for in a Mortal Kombat comic. What we look for is action, brutal graphic killings and cool art works and this is exactly what this issues, and series, deliver!! What a ride!
Kotal, D'Vorah, Sonya and Cage vs Reiko, Skarlet, Cassie and her friend Jacqui, Jax's daughter. It's a sight to behold. Sure the drama between them is brought to light, but the punches and kicks are deadly.
Takeda learns from Fujin that Raiden is being controlled by the daggers and is determined to join the battle. The power of a god under the control of the daggers is likely to throw everything into disarray.
Reiko and Havik can both go die in a Hole. I HAVE TWO HANDS FOR FUJIN AND TAKEDA💖 Queen Sheeva is an icon. Kintaro deserved better. HANZO FIGHTING HIS INNER DEMONS TO HELL AND BACK- IM SO PROUD OF YOU. Also the TRIO is back- Kung Lao, Liu Kang, and Kitana.🤍 My man Sub Zero is now my Superman. SOMEONE RELEASE KENSHI TAKAHASHI HE'S JUSTIFIED FOR SO MUCH BETTER. luved it 100/10

Ultimately, the agents of Chaos versus the champions of Order. Where Order, like in society, must be maintained like a well-oiled machine, it only takes one Chaotic act to throw it in disarray. Raiden could have used order, in information to the champions, to avoid a lot of chaos but alas, we wouldn't have the bloody outcomes if he did.
The 2021 MK movie suffered too much story and dialogue, not enough fighting and action. This Blood run fell into that landscape a lot but Blood Island definitely picked up in the action and bloody gore. Plus, the comic gave us cooler looking effects and character designs than the movie. Takeda and Hanzo were the more interesting story lines while the Cages and Briggs were less appealing, especially since Jax
An entertaining read, with great art, I'd still be interested in more even if some of the details and intermixed stories get muddy.
I don’t think I should have read this book because there are 3 reasons: first it’s 18+, second: my mom didn’t allow me to buy it. Third: it was quite expensive. But, it’s worth it. I have played Mortal Kombat since I was 8. That was pretty early and I wasn't old enough. But the game was so interesting that when I saw the book in the book store I couldn't hold my feelings and bought it. I liked it because its story was a bomb. So many different characters even those who haven’t appeared in the game. Also, most of the movies that were created based on video games honestly were never good but books were always interesting and good. But this book also interested me because of the drawing. The characters from the book looked so realistic that I began to forget the difference between books and reality.
I really hope this is a new beginning for the extended universe of Mortal Kombat and we'll get more pre-game comic books in the future! It's the perfect way to introduce new characters like they did here with Takeda, Jacqui and Cassie, and also enjoy our all time favorites in cannon fights and situations in general. I said it before and i'll say it again, the illustrations are awesome, keep 'em comming DC!
EN The last volume of the genius prologue to the tenth edition of Mortal Kombat's brawl. What to write here - great plot, nice drawings with good X-Rays and a lot of characters known from previous parts.
I never could really get into this series. I think it's because I haven't played a Mortal Kombat game since MK3, so I didn't know a lot of what was going on. I'm assuming the series followed the game continuity rather than any past comic continuity. If you follow the games, this is probably for you.
More about havoc- skull face dude and Reiko- becomes blood god and gets tricked by havoc. Main characters under influence, up to scorpion protege. Sub zero awesome, kicks everyone ass
Loved how the Shokan battled it out (among other things), a despicable and blood bathed path to conclusion. The world isn't such a simple place when looking at it from a Mortal Kombat perspective.
I really hope the campaign for MKX is better than this comic series. It is messy with too much going on at once and seems very little to due with Mortal Kombat.
This comic book series was truly amazing. I highly recommend this series if you like comic books, video games, and especially the Mortal Kombat franchise.
I rather enjoyed this comic series. It is sad to see it end. The only issue. I have is that this was about 50% correct with the canon established by the game series. Some of the info was changed in order to go with the author's vision (i.e.: Kung Lao is referred to as Kung Jin's uncle when in the game they are cousins, the names of Scorpion's late wife and son are different, etc). However, these inconsistencies (and several others) did not ruin the story for me. Many of the other aspects fit in the game canon perfectly. I do recommend this to any fan of Mortal Kombat.
I absolutely loved it! I anxiously awaited the release of this and the instant I found it I read it in 45 minutes! Such a fun storyline and I was more than thrilled to see how Scorpion, in an instant, demolishes everything! Super perfect!
