Rate this book
For some, being jilted at the alter would be the worst event, ever.

Wrong.

Discovering your fiancé cheated and left you for your best friend and matron of honor had been the worst.

Needing breathing room outside of the small knit town she lived, where whispers followed her footsteps as close as the sorrow eating at her heart, Jasmine fled.

Nate never dreamed he'd be lucky enough to find love twice. Guilt and grief have weighed his soul down taking him into a darkness he didn't want to leave, until he met Jasmine.

As near tragedy strikes again, can this damaged duo find hope in the belief lightning can strike twice or will this be the first failure of...

“Operation Hook-Up; You Book Em, We Hook Em”

Too late. The minute her hands touched his crotch he grew wood. He wouldn’t have been able to withhold the rushing blood if he’d tried. The way she froze proved his erection hadn’t gone unnoticed by her either. Worse, she slowly craned her neck back to look up at him, from her knees in front of him. He grew harder still.

Stepping away, he caught the edge of the bed and went ass-over-end. Jasmine tossed her hand out, which, against his better judgment, he grabbed, bringing her down with him.

The way he landed on his back with her atop him put his cock right in her crotch. Thongs didn’t cover much, and when she’d been sleeping, she’d tossed her leg and ass out and he’d caught site of her panties. The hot-pink thong against her smooth dark skin had been a temptation he’d done his best not to stare at.

Baby damn sure had back. Nice, round, bubbled back.

Hell, he’d sported wood then too. He’d thought of his past to tone junior down before she’d awoken. But now? With her awake, lying across him with her breasts crushed into his chest and the heat from her pussy teasing his dick into the drive to thrust into heaven?

He gritted his teeth. Tried to pull back the desire raging through him. God, she smelled like freshly cut flowers and woman.

When he dared a glance at her face he caught those rich brown eyes of hers watching him intently. Amazed, he continued to stare as her mouth lowered to his. Was he imagining things? He prayed he wasn’t still sleeping and this wasn’t some sort of wet dream.

Her lips, gentle and soft, feathered across his. Nervous and explorative. Unsure, and he held back. Let her take her time. Somehow he sensed she was skittish.

When her little pink tongue slid around the seam of his mouth, he opened, but still let her take the lead. She moaned a little when she dipped her tongue into his mouth and swirled it around his, coaxing him to play with her. He nearly lost his shit. Jasmine’s hands still rested on his forearms, but her body lay against his like the missing piece of a puzzle.

A perfect fucking fit.

I quite like this read, it’s short and tempting, leaving you wanting for more. I mean that literally.

Don’t get me wrong, for a short read it has done a good job with the characters and their background. It’s to the point, so you know just enough where they’re coming from with their emotions. Another thing I like is that the characters acknowledge that the thing they have is new and make no promises for a rose-colored future.

While I was enjoying their hookup story, I missed the confrontation. I don’t always like drama but I feel like it could have been a nice addition to it, giving the story a bit more edge and excitement.

But overall it is a nice short read, one giving some warmth to the cold winter days. That is if you're like me and are just reading it now...
