الكتاب ممل لدرجة إني كنت كل ما امسكه احس اني عايزة انام
الترجمة حرفية وخالية من الاسلوب الأدبي الجذاب
لكن للأنصاف بداية من الجزء الخامس ـ الهوية ـ ابتدت الموضوعات تبقى مثيرة للاهتمام نوعًا ما
الجزء السادس الخاص بالنسوية والثقافة اللانمطية الجنسية فيه معلومات كتير جدًا اول مرة اقرأها

During's work is a good introduction to cultural studies for students and general readers. It discusses the main topics of research in cultural studies, along with an exploration of the beginnings, present and the future of the field itself. Given that it is an introduction, the key issues are briefly outlined as opposed to long excursions, but still in a critical fashion. The Part on Place, I think, is somewhat weak though. There are many interdisciplinary cultural studies of space and place (public space, architecture etc.) that is missed out. There is not a single mention of issues of piracy, copyright and related issues that cultural studies with economic orientations as such shoukd have mentioned. Still, all in all a useful work for foundational purposes.

A good overview of the different issues of Cultural Studies. During writes in a very understandable way while not leaving out major points. For those who want more information after reading this, During's Cultural Studies Reader would be a good go to. It has the original must-read essays as well as some more recent ones.
This is a good introduction for freshmen or people who have not come into contact with Cultural Studies.
