Each book in the series can be read as a standalone novel Follow the lives of the men and women who have a unique connection with a little country town in Eastern Washington, and watch as their lives unfold as they face challenges of life, faith and love.

Get the tissues ready…not just one, but the whole box because you will need them as you read the journey Dylan will take as he struggles with his faith and also his personal relationships. After reading “Claire’s Hope”, I didn’t think a better book could be written, until I read this one.
Dylan is a country boy and always has been. He loves God, whom he accepted as his Savior as a young child and his brother, his truck and making furniture. At 24 years of age, Dylan finds he is still getting his brother out of trouble and often ends up being guilty by association. It seems in their father’s eyes they will never grow up and will always be irresponsible. He never seems to give them a word of encouragement. Their mother, according to their father, died when they were young. However when Dylan’s father finds out he has incurable cancer and doesn’t have long to live, he accepts God into his life and is baptized. Before his death he tells Dylan he is leaving the lodge to their uncle because they are not responsible enough to run it. Things get a little unreal when they learn their mother didn’t die. She just left them. Their world is once again turned upside down as they search to find her, only to be rejected one more time.
After searching and finding her, on their way back home Dylan’s brother begins to ask Dylan about the Lord and accepts Him into his heart on the side of the road.
This is an amazing story of love, faith, forgiveness and redemption, along with a little romance thrown into the mix. As I turned the pages I was amazed at how real-like the situations were that the brothers found themselves drawn into. I loved how Chapin explained God gives us free-will and by the choices we make we not only suffer the consequences of those choices, be it good or bad, but how it affects the lives of those around us.
I was totally not prepared for the end of this book! I sobbed! This will be a book that will remain in my heart long after I read the last word and it will also cause me to think carefully before making quick decisions.
Mr. Chapin, thank you for a wonderful heart-warming book. I would highly recommend this book and the others in this series.
Disclosure: I was given a copy of this eBook by the author, T.K. Chapin, for an honest review. I was not required to write a favorable review nor was I compensated for my review. The opinions in this review are my own.
This was a great Contemporary Christian fiction series conclusion. Christ's love and forgiveness as well as mercy and grace are themes believably woven throughout this family saga. I was able to read a copy of this book via Overdrive, but it did not in any way affect my review. All opinions are my own.
This is the first book by Mr. Chapin I have read; I can assure you it is not my last. What a wonderful story.
Dylan is reviewing his life as he sits on his porch, thinking of the love of his life, his family, and what a story it is. No, he is not famous, he is not in society, he is not a leader of the country, he’s not important at all; he is just a God-fearing, God-loving country boy, and Christian man who was far from perfect as all of us are. I found the analogy of the flaws in his woodcraft so like our lives as Christian’s; imperfect like his wood yet still beautiful, living in the love of God and his forgiveness. I thought Mr. Chapin’s portrayal of Dylan’s life so realistic, Christian but still doing things God would not love, still sinning, still flawed, but assured of God’s love and even though God does not love the sin, he still loves the sinner. Mr. Chapin shows so aptly that we are still sinners, the difference being we as Christians are forgiven. Dylan walks the walk as well as talks the talk, yet he is far from perfect. You could feel Dylan’s faith coming off the page and his satisfaction with the life God had given him as he looked back on his life. This book did not feel preachy or pushy in any way. Mr. Chapin did a wonderful job of presenting his story and the message of God’s redeeming love.
Dylan is waiting for God to show him his perfect mate, trying to keep his brother, Chris, who is on the verge of alcoholism and a brawler out of trouble, (Dylan has always been by his brother’s side pulling him from scrapes), and Dylan wants to garner his father’s approval. Dylan’s father had been a hard brutal man who created a dysfunctional family, telling the brothers their mother had died, his father is dying. Dylan wants his father to be proud of him. Dylan is overjoyed that his father has found Jesus as his Savior and has found peace with his final destination. Dylan meets a wonderful woman, Allison, that has moved from Atlanta seeking a more Christian and stable life for herself and her two children. They click with their Christian views.
Dylan and Chris face tribulations, including facing one of the worst hurts, other than the death of a parent, any child can feel, that of an uncaring unloving parent. Dylan in his deepening faith wonders how God will turn any of this too good. True to the scriptures, God is always there to help them. When Dylan presented the Roman Road and testified to Chris , he accepted Jesus. I cried as this was emotional for me. What could be more stirring than the Roman Road of Salvation! Mr. Chapin presents this very skillfully.
Dylan and Allison will have a rocky road to happy ever after. Seeming betrayals, ex-husbands that don’t want to be an ex, a resentful child, all conspire to make this ride very rough. The ending is wonderful; I sit here with my eReader in my hands with tears running down my face.
This is a heartwarming and stirring story of redemption, love of God, love of family, and acceptance skillfully told. I highly recommend this book.
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest opinion.
Dylan's Faith, the fourth book in the Love's Enduring Promise series by T. K. Chapin is a very contemporary Christian fiction set in 2011, a year with many changes in store for Dylan. The book seemed to be billed as a romance, but I felt that it was more a Christian fiction with a touch of romance. I felt the focus was really on Dylan's journey.
Dylan Holden, a talented 25(?)-year-old carpenter, has his own shop in the rural town of Chattaroy, Washington. He's very protective of his wayward younger brother Chris, with whom he shares a home. Dylan is a long-time Christian, and has high hopes for his brother and father to become Christians as well. Allison is the love interest of the story, and she is the cousin of Dylan's friend Jess. Throughout 2011, several major events and discoveries impact Dylan's life, and the reader sees how he handles trials with his faith in God. It feels like a journey.
What I liked:
*The characters seemed like real people in a real town. Most importantly, I liked them. Chapin even wrote Dylan's alcoholic brother Chris in a way that made me care about him, and alcoholism is something I personally have difficulty sympathizing with.
*The story was unpredictable, with several surprises along the way! I read through it pretty quickly.
What I didn't like:
*There were many run-on sentences in the story. This may have been a stylistic aspect, as people do speak that way sometimes. However, I had to re-read some dialogue (or in some cases, internal thought processes) to double-check the meaning. There were a few other issues I occasionally noticed, and I felt it needed a bit more editing.
*I felt pulled out of the story a couple of times by what happened, or what was said. I didn't feel that what happened matched Dylan's character. However, one of the things I like about this book is that Dylan feels real, and how many of us are story-book consistent with our character? So I'm on the fence with this as a "dislike" aspect.
I give this story 3.5 stars! It really kept my interest, but I wanted to see more editing. Kudos to Mr. Chapin for writing Christian fiction in what seems like a market dominated by women authors.
I recommend this book to fans of contemporary fiction. Alcoholism, lust, unfaithfulness within marriage, and fighting in a bar setting make this a story not for very young readers. However, even with those issues addressed in some fashion, this is a pretty clean novel.
This is the very first book I've ever been asked to review by an author, and I was honored to do so. I was not obligated to leave a positive review.
Thank you to T.K. Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you with this review.
Dylan’s Faith by T.K. Chapin was a book a little outside my reading genre comfort zone. However, the synopsis of the book intrigued me to read it. I am happy to say that I really thoroughly enjoyed this book more than I thought I did.
This book was filled with relationships between brothers, bonds between fathers and sons, mother abandoning her children, dying, death, alcoholism, violence, betryal, faith, love, forgiveness, and prayers.
After reading the book you will see why I loved how this book was dedicated to his father.
My favorite part of the book was when Dylan was with his brother Chris at a Diner ordering dinner. Dylan was going to get the house specialty breakfast for dinner that night. However, he changed his mind last minute when a new good looking waitress waited on him by the name of Tricia. What did he decide to order you ask? A chicken salad and water instead of a beer he ordered. I thought only woman do those types of things to impress males.
Some sections of the book that touched me were:
“Life has a funny way of taking us down roads we never thought we’d travel. Sometimes we might be on a long stretch of road that never seems to end. Other times we can’t keep up with life’s turns, hills, and construction zones. No matter what part of the journey we’re on, each road can lead to the unexpected. A little detour here, a wrong turn there, it’s all just part of the experience. When the love of my life showed up, there was no big billboard along the road letting me know it was the one. Thankfully, God was in my passenger seat when she came into my life, and if it wasn’t for Him, I might have passed her by. My faith has been a large part of my life, and God has helped through more struggles than I could count.
Sometimes Life is a Bit Messy; Even for Christians
This is a story that most all of us can relate to in one way or another. We all have family members that are either saved and living it, saved and backsliding or unsaved and a bit hostile towards God. In this story you will follow Dylan throughout his life and see how his faith impacts his circle of influence, and especially that of his younger brother Chris.
The book is written in first person with Dylan being the narrator, I like how he tells the story and I love how the characters are developed. These characters could literally be people you know, a Christian dealing with divorce, a new romance that involves the possibility of step-children, an alcoholic and a father that didn't start well but finished strong. You will find that Dylan and Chris's upbringing was somewhat dysfunctional and you will see how that impacted the two of them.
T.K. does an excellent job of incorporating a very strong redemptive message without it coming off as preachy and heavy handed. I liked how the story came to its conclusion with really only one exception
I would highly recommend Dylan's Faith by T.K. Chapin, it is a great story with strong characters and it delivers a great message about life, forgiveness and redemption.
This book was given to me by T.K. Chapin for my honest review. You can see all of my reviews at Blessings N Bloggings
Dylan Holden is a young man with a bright future ahead of him. He loves his brother, he enjoys making furniture, and he loves the Lord. Dylan even shows interest when Allison comes to town with her two children. But what happens when things don't go smoothly? How do you react when your father delivers shocking news when you already have a bad relationship? Dylan's Faith is a wonderfully written book about a young man that is forced to rely on his faith to get him through some difficult times, and hope that others saw his faithfulness to the Lord. Although Dylan loves his brother, he does not appreciate his alcoholic lifestyle. Constantly rescuing him from barfights, will on time cost Dylan his entire future? Dylan receives shocking news from his father, who is sick and may not have much longer to live. But will his fathers wishes for the family inn affect their already strained relationship? Later Dylan's father has an even bigger shock, one that will not only show readers the power of God's love, but the power of prayer. What a wonderful reminder about the importance and necessity of having an active prayer life. I enjoyed the ups and downs of Dylan and Ally's relationship as well. When her ex came to town Dylan struggled on the inside, but acted like such a gentleman and allowed Ally the space she needed to sort things out. Dylan's examples of faith throughout this entire book were such a joy to read and a great reminder of how we much rely of God's timing, not our own. Thank you for another great story!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Written in a Christian retrospective and real-time format this story is about faith, family and being in the right place at the right time in order to be used of God. It’s a story about 2 brothers, Dylan and Chris, their journey as young adults during a 2 year slice of life in small town America.
Dylan is a born-again believer who works with his hands making furniture, he goes to church….sometimes. Chris is his younger brother, an alcoholic, who is like a pinball, bouncing through life going from fight to fight. Dylan always goes to help his younger brother, winds up fighting himself. Their father Frank owns a small inn, but is very distant, not having much to do with the brothers. Frank comes into and out of their lives acts disappointed in the boys, telling them often. Then Frank lays down a bombshell…..he’s dying!
Frank dies leaving control of the inn to his brother Lenny. This causes friction both before Frank dies and afterward especially when they find out their mother, Aubrey, long thought dead, is still alive. The boys go to another small town searching to try and find her. When they do find her, she is a cold hearted women with another family. The story meanders through the boys lives showing scenes of triumph when Dylan leads Chris to the Lord and heartbreak when Chris loses his girlfriend to his drinking. Its family dynamics about as seen through the eyes of the oldest brother. The story concludes with the brothers looking back at their lives celebrating life with friends and family. It’s a celebration of serving Christ through life’s up and downs.
I was given the book for a fair and honest review.
Synopsis: Dylan Holden is a twenty-four-year-old country boy who loves his truck, brother and God more than anything else on earth. His heart has belonged only to the Lord since he’s been a boy, but all that changes when a new girl comes to town. Could she be his one true love, or will her past be too much?
This is the second book I have read from T. K. Chapin's "Love's Enduring Promise" series (Dylan's Faith is the 4th book in the series).
One thing I liked was that the story began with Dylan as an old man reflecting on the the year he met the love of his life, Ally. The book then went on to tell the story of that year, finally finishing up back in the "present" (the future for us - the year 2066) with the final chapter filling in the reader on what has happened in Dylan's life since that year.
I found it interesting to read a romance where the main character was a guy. There aren't many romance books written from a guy's perspective.
I also liked that the characters were real and flawed. This isn't a fairytale romance where the characters are all perfect. The characters struggle with the same kind of issues that many people struggle with. This is a story about the difference that having faith in God can make in dealing with those struggles.
All in all, well worth a read.
I received a free copy of this book for the purpose of providing an honest review of the story.
Dylan's Faith is the sequel to The Perfect Cast, and follows up with the characters who have matured over a span of a few years. An easy read, it was not hard to get through, at the heart of the story is a character's faith questioned, others struggling with trust, and above all, experiencing God's love and heart for His children, even if they don't think they are worthy of such perfection. The plot itself never lagged, and brought to light different topics and questions instead of just focusing on one theme, and really gave a sense that the community needs eachother, and with each other's support and experiences, can develop as Christian men and women, and gain wisdom for the years to come. Some scenes that showed character growth, and were inspiring had to have been the scenes involving the two brothers and their father, failure and pain felt by both, and trying to mend a broken relationship, but struggling with ones own insecurities and issues. Dylan's Faith gathers together the remains of past dilemmas, and with God's doing, recreates these hurts into something beautiful, and working everything out for the good of those who love the Lord.
Dylans Faith was a very sweet love story about how Dylan met his wife. I really enjoyed reading this book and the character building was excellent. Because of such strong character building it makes you feel the same pain that they feel and it became quite the tear jerker. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how it is based in the Christian faith.
Dylan has grown quite old and reminisces on his life when he was young and met his wife. Dylan became a Christian when he was thirteen. He and his brother owned a house together, but his brother was quite the trouble maker in town causing fights when he drank and Dylan would step in to help him out. When they find out their dad is dying and won't leave the family business to them because they get in trouble, they really don't know how to deal with any of it. Dylan turns to God for comfort and peace, but his brother turns to alcohol. Dylan's faith witnesses to others throughout his trying times.
I loved this book and it's underlying lesson to just have faith and trust God in all things. I do however worry about how preachy it might seem to those who are not Christians, but I really enjoyed it.
I liked this book in a lot of ways but it was also disappointing too. I liked that it dealt with personal faith and I expected that because it is a Christian romance. However, some Christian romance is primarily romance with some Christian themes. This book was not like that. This book was very preachy. The entire plot was about the saving of the souls of the characters. The romance was secondary to the point that the heroine was not even introduced until almost more than a quarter of the way through the book. Even then, she was secondary to the religion. That's fine for some people but it was a little bit frustrating for me. Also, the setup of the book is framed as memories but the grammar was present tense. This is a little bit nit picky of me but it bugged me. Mainly, it was the fact that this was categorized as a romance and the romance was minimal and not satisfactorily complete. If you want to read this book, keep in mind that it's primarily religious and very preachy. If you like that, it is a pretty good book.
What a tremendous book. The author brings out aspects of everyday life and puts them into perspective with a faithful twist. I loved reading the sermon part because it uses my favorite bible verse.... "If you have faiths size of a mustard seed......" This book follows Dylan Holden through many of life's problems. He is a country boy that has an alcoholic brother that loves to fight, and a very strict, and somewhat abusive father. Dylan's faith gets tested over and over. First, when he finds out about his fathers medical condition. This starts the rollercoaster. After finding out, he also learns of a decision his father makes about the Inn they own that will affect Dylan and Chris. Then there is a family secret uncovered, and in the midst of all the turmoil and surprises he meets Ally. He begins to have feelings for her, but she comes with two kids and a complicated past. What path will Dylan take? Will he stay true to his faith,or falter and follow his brother into drinking?
A broken family, a couple broken hearts and the faith in the Lord to put it all back together again how he sees fit. Dylan and his brother Chris may have not had the ideal life growing up but they were loved even if their father was rough about it. Always keeping after them and trying to keep them on the trail of faith. But as life goes on lambs do tend to stray a bit. Another broken family moves into town. Fresh from divorce Ally is not looking for love but a true friendship and possibly a job to stay in the country. But when Dylan and her start to talk and get to know each other more. Feelings start to surface. But when tragedy strikes and more heartache comes from both sides what will these two do? Will their lives be forever shattered or will they find a way to keep faith in the Lord?
Yet another great story by author, T k Chapin. Dylan's Faith starts out with two young men who are figuring out life on their own and their single father tries to give them tough love to correct their ways. Dylan is a Christian, while his brother, Chris, has alcohol and fighting problems. Dylan is always looking out for his brother, wanting him to correct his ways and come to salvation. This story shows the way to Christ by Dylan's direct testimony to Chris. Young adults have a rough rode without Christ and this story tells of some of the challenges people choose over Christ's forgiveness and salvation. .
Dylan's Faith is book 4 in the series Love's Enduring Promise and the best of the series. It can be read as a standalone but we revisit characters from other books. We follow the journey of brothers , Dylan and Chris and see God's redeeming love in their lives. This excerpt is powerful "The world might be crazy and unpredictable but it's through God's promises in his word we lean on. If you only have faith as a mustard seed.God will help you through anything and everything that might come your way." This is a must read book, good job T.K. Chapin.
I really enjoyed this book I was pulled into the stories of Dylan and his brother Chris from the first pages. The author has combined faith, romance, family secrets and conflict into a story that kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and it is one that I do recommend to the reader who enjoys good Christian fiction. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I certainly look forward to reading more by him.
Totally sweet and cute. I enjoyed reading outside of my normal genre's for this one. I have always enjoyed the light, tender and sweet without all the dark.. The characters in this one make me happy and I felt the love. I like how there were still real problems but his faith got him through everything. I am glad I got to review it.
A special story of love, hardship, family and believing in God's love to see us through. Life isn't easy but with God's support the right path can be walked.
