Rate this book
Samantha Dawson has never been afraid of an empty house. Until the house starts singing.
Moving into her husband’s historic family home was supposed to be a fresh start. Instead, Samantha begins noticing things she can’t explain.

What a great who-done-it. I love stories like this one.... ones that keep you guessing till the very end. And then makes you wonder if it really ended.

Sam is a talented singer who marries a man who she thought had found her singing in a club & heard something wonderfully different in her singing.

After they marry, she moves into her husband's family's house & begins experiencing things like pictures moving from room to room, footsteps upstairs above her when she's playing the piano on the first floor & hearing her name being whispered to her.

As she tells these things to her husband, he always seems to have a reasonable explanation for everything. Then she begins to remember things from her childhood that had been "erased" from her memory. Memories that the adults who were with her when something happened one day in her childhood, in this same house she now lives, that they felt she would forget about. So they quit talking about the incident & Sam eventually "forgets" everything about that afternoon. Until these things start happening to her & she starts investigating why & how these things are happening.

Her husband keeps things from her... releasing little bits of information to her & believes he is trying to protect her when in really he is keeping things from her that she deserves to know. This eventually tears them apart.

In the end, she discovers that she already knew everything she needed to know about that day & what happened when she was so young, she just had to let the memories evolve & ask the questions of the people in her life & demand they answer her.

All the strange events of pictures moving, sounds of footsteps, whispers of her name only she can hear & other things that had made her question her sanity are finally answered & the culprits are caught. Sam's childhood is finally all hers.

The Fourth Note

A thrilling, suspenseful read that keeps you guessing until the very end!
Samantha is an exceptionally talented singer whose life changes the night James comes to the club to hear her perform. The two quickly fall in love and marry, but Samantha's fairy-tale romance takes a dark turn when she moves into Dawson House, the historic family estate of James and his famous singer mother, Vivienne.
Life at Dawson House is deeply unsettling. Objects mysteriously vanish and reappear in unexpected places, while haunting melodies echo from locked, long-abandoned rooms. Terrified but determined, Samantha begins to investigate the eerie occurrences. When she sits at the piano to recreate the music echoing through the halls, she realizes something shocking: she automatically knows the notes that follow the haunting three-note refrain she keeps hearing.
As the tension builds, the mystery deepens. Is Samantha losing her mind? Is James gaslighting her? Does his ex-wife have a hand in the haunting? And what secrets is James’s banned uncle hiding? The stakes rise even higher when Samantha uncovers a devastating truth that James hid from her until confronted: he was married before. This is a gripping, fast-paced thriller that I absolutely could not put down!

If you are searching for a spooky psychological thriller that is nearly impossible to put down, I Heard You Singing by Devoray Camp is one story you need on your reading list. From the very beginning, the creepy old house sets an eerie mood full of odd noises, moving objects, ghostly voices, and deep secrets waiting to be uncovered.
The real highlight of the book is the constant mind game. Is Sam's husband gaslighting her, or is there an unexplainable force at play here? The mystery keeps you guessing right until the very end. Watching the suspense build as small puzzle pieces fall into place 1 by 1 makes for a wildly fun and engaging experience.
This book delivers a fantastic atmosphere with top tier suspense that keeps you hooked throughout. I rate this 4 stars out of 5!

This is a great psychological thriller. Samantha begins noticing that photographs and objects have been moved in her house. Then she hears music and singing. And there's a locked door with no key at the end of the hallway. She learns that her husband James has been keeping things from her, like the fact that they're sleeping in his dead mother's bedroom, and that his mother heard voices, thought someone was watching her sleep, and everyone thought she was going crazy. Is Samantha going crazy? Is the house haunted? Or is there another explanation? The suspense is real, and my heart was racing. I really enjoyed this book.

A manor most always has servant's corridors, closed to lack of use. But are they really forgotten?
Don't only think of supernatural reasons, when there are uncanny and weird noises, photos are moved around, others are missing and music is playing...
I would be really frightened and never follow those noises by myself as Samantha does! She is really couragious and brave.
I got a free ARC book from the author and this is my voluntary review.
It's a gripping, thrilling story, couldn't put it down!

Almost gave it five stars!

I really enjoyed this book. The premise was interesting and grabbed my attention right away. There were unexpected twists and turns. The music premise was creepy and interesting. (I am a music person and loved it. But I think even a non music person would.) My only complaint is that the ending was a bit of a let down, but I would still recommend it to anyone!

You can read the blurb and see how exciting this book is. I read this book in baby steps. The suspense starts right out of the gate, and stays intense the entire way through. I adored that the MC made good decisions, and had realistic responses. Great read. Would strongly recommend.
