In this book we have the story of Caleb Harris, lawman, and Angela Butler, the town tramp. I didn’t picture these two together but it is an interesting read and a beautiful love story. There are many twists and turns but they lead us down the road to a Happily Ever After and I didn’t see that coming with these two.

Caleb is a man-whore but I was unaware of that in the previous books. He is tickled pink whenever he has the opportunity for a twofer. While he is preparing to get busy with the two women he brought home with him the doorbell rings. Boy is he ticked and even more unsettled when he sees it is the old town whore who had moved away, Angela. We all know Angela the slut from previous books but there is also a lot we don’t know about her as well. A lot no one ever cared enough to find out and it is truly sad.

She was determined to break free of the awful rumors and stigma placed on her in her hometown so she moves away and not only does she fall in love but she witnesses a murder and is now running for her life. She is desperate for help and that is when she goes knocking on Caleb’s door. Caleb is not happy about this but he feels he should do whatever he can to protect her. Angela is not pleased to have had to journey back to the town who thinks so little of her and ask a man she hates for his help. But her hate for Caleb is becoming blurred.
I highly recommend this book. It is just great. Come on Jaycee and get to writing. I am wearing a path to your Amazon page checking for new release.

❤️❤️❤️Caleb❤️❤️❤️

This book ha done laughing out loud at the beginning. I loved Caleb. When he loves he loves something fierce.

Angela isn't happy to be back in town, but she needs Caleb's help. She can't stand him and she knows he doesn't like her either. She knows her only hope is to work with Caleb, but that proves to be difficult. The feelings of hate are becoming blurred.

Caleb has always had a thing for Angela even though he denied it. He couldn't be with the town slut even the he was the male version of Angela. He learns a lot from her and he slowly starts seeing the real Angela, not what the town painted her to be.

This book will have you laughing, crying and wanting to fight right along side Caleb and Angela. They have a lot to overcome before they can even work on being a couple. Will it be too much? Or can they get through the hard and finally work on each other?

Favorite Quotes:

“I loved God, but according to her, anything short of becoming a missionary was not considered God’s work. I was certainly no missionary. I didn’t even like that position.”

“I saw Tracy here almost daily and I’d always wanted to ask her out, but I also liked free coffee. One thing was certain, if I asked her out, I’d never get free coffee again.”

“I was sure hormones had come into play. It was the only explanation for why she kept looking at me like I was a second helping of pecan pie.”

“There isn’t a word strong enough to tell you how I feel. I love you. I adore you. I cherish you. I worship you. My life was nothing until God gave me you. No one will ever take that away from me.”

“After all the years I’d known her, it turned out that I never really knew her; I never knew what she was fully capable of. I’d spent so many years without her. Now I wanted to spend the rest of my life absorbing every detail of her.”

“This is your life wifey. The preacher said so two weeks ago.”

My Review:

I love this group of friends and was surprised I found myself aligned with Angie and antagonized at Tom – I mean… come on - Angie? Of all people! But - she was not who I thought she was, and I yet I am so very happy to be wrong. The story was full of surprises, wry humor, intrigue, and suspense. I adore Jaycee Ford and am already looking forward to her next book.

FIVE 'I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS MY LIFE' STARS!

Mosquito Chase is the fourth and final installment in Jaycee Ford's Love Bug series. I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not a fan of this author or this series. I am, absolutely. As a fan, I've been anxiously awaiting Caleb's story. We met him early on in the series, but we didn't get much of his story.

"Angela Butler. In a million years, I would never have guessed that I would've fallen in love with her."

Caleb Harris, Paul's brother and a local policeman, had his heart broken as a young man. That experience so deeply colored his view on relationships and trust, that he never allowed himself to open up to the idea of one, going so far as to put rules in place to keep him in check and prevent a deeper connection from forming during his many one-night-stands. But all of that changed the day a very pregnant Angela Butler showed up at his door.

Angela Butler hasn't had an easy life. Partially due to her own choices and decisions, partially due to rumors she never cared enough to clear up or defend herself against. The first chance she got, she fled her hometown for Atlanta, and it was there that she fell in love. Her fiancé, a drug-dealing strip club owner, was in the process of cleaning up his life so he and Angie could move on to better things - cleaner things - when he was killed. Angie, an unwitting witness to this murder, went on the run and with nowhere else to go and no one to protect her, she returned to the one place she swore she never would, to the only man she thought could protect her and her unborn son.

"...hope, Angie. You gave me hope."

Caleb takes Angie in concealing her whereabouts from everyone. Inevitably, they begin to get to know each other, and slowly but surely, both of them realize just how much more there is to the other. It's Caleb, very surprisingly, who is the first to come to terms with his feelings for Angie. She, on the other hand, is still grieving the loss of her fiancé, and she is scared to open herself up to the possibility of Caleb. Because along with Caleb, comes the rest of the crew, a crew consisting of the very men who have shaped Angie's self imagine and reputation to what it is now. How could she possibly accept the all of them, and they her, to have any real future with Caleb.

"For the first time in my life, I considered Ellie a friend."

Cue Ellie Harris. Recognizing that her brother in law is in love with this woman, Ellie bridges the gap and welcomes Angie into the fold, with Jordan right behind her. For the first time in her life, Angie has friends and she finds that she really likes them. But what will happen when Angie's past catches up with her? Will Caleb be able to protect her and her son? And when the drama dies down, will they still feel the same about each other?

Jaycee Ford has penned the perfect cap to this series in Mosquito Chase. As usual, she has given her readers a well written, richly told, emotional, suspenseful and sexy read in Caleb and Angie's love story. I absolutely loved it! Jaycee Ford is an author who's work I look forward to, and she's a no hesitation, auto-buy author for me! Congratulations on another fantastic story, Ms. Ford!

Another awesome read from Jaycee Ford! In this fourth book, we have a return to the suspenseful nature of book one, where one of the main characters is under threat. Angela, a relatively unlikeable character from the initial books has returned to her home town while on the run from an unknown foe. Her best chance of keeping safe is Caleb Harris, local cop who usually tries to avoid romantic entanglements, thanks to his own bitter history. A woman like Angela is hardly what he expects to crash into his life, but there's no denying the pull between them.

"If there was one person that could hurt me more than Tabitha, it was Angie. She wouldn't just hurt me. She would obliterate me. But without her, I'd have nothing to lose."

There was so much I enjoyed about this book. I loved the idea of bringing back an unlikeable character and showing her in a different light. It was a nice way of showing just how easily a view of someone is shaped by perspective. Angela never really had a chance in the previous instalments to show much of her personality. Caleb is someone who, although he is known from the previous storylines, has not really shown us too much. He's the typical rugged cop, in his element when he's in protective mode. It is a slightly cliched premise, but I like the direction that Jaycee took it.
I also liked seeing the old characters once more, particularly Ellie, who was always my favourite of the Love Bug ladies, and getting a glimpse into what has become of the previous stars of the show.

Although Dragonfly Awakening will always be my number one of this series, Mosquito Chase was definitely a nice way to round out the series. Each standalone puts a slightly different spin on the romance and the issues faced between the couples, and each is sweet and heartwarming in its own way. This book is different from the others in many ways - the dynamic between the characters is different, given that Angela is hardly one of the family in the beginning, even the theme on the cover is different with a cool colour scheme compared to the others, but ultimately it's a great romance read!

Mosquito Chase is by far the best book Jaycee Ford has ever written. The book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend that you read the other books in the series as well since you get to know a lot more about the other characters in the book and what’s happening in their lives.

The whole story is unique, passionate and heartbreaking. Caleb is a really sweet guy and I instantly fell in love with him and his actions. He is passionate and caring and even if he doesn’t want to do anything, he still does it if it means helping someone. Angela is also very nice. She is a broken woman who just wants to change her life for the better.

Together they are sweet and sexy and they made my heart beat for them just a little bit more by each page I read. The whole book is really emotional and I can only recommend. I can’t wait to read more of Jaycee Ford. 4.5 stars for the forth book in the Love Bug Series.

This is the fourth and last book in the Love Bug series. It can be read as a standalone and I understood everything fine reading it as such
This book is the first book of Ms. Ford's that I have read and it made me laugh out loud several times, while intertwining some suspense, and romance. I enjoyed it immensely and would not hesitate to read another book of hers!
I was gifted an ARC of this ebook in exchange for my honest review. Opinions in this review are my own.

This is the forth book in the series and they should be read in order. I love this series so much. Caleb Harris loves his job as a cop. He is a bit of a playboy off the clock. Everything changes one night when Angela Butler shows up on his doorstep in the middle of the night. They aren’t exactly friends or even like each other. Angela needs help and Caleb is the only person she could think of to help her. Angela left to start over fresh but she got more than she bargained for. She has witnessed a horrible crime and people are after her. This one event will change both their lives and maybe for the better. Caleb must keep Angela safe but will he be able to keep himself safe? Caleb doesn’t want to ever get close to a woman again after what happened the last time. Angela has lost every man she has ever cared about. Will Caleb be the next one? I loved this book so much. It gave me the feels and shed a whole new light on Angela. You read about her in the other books but in this one you get to know the real her. This gave me the feels and kept me hooked the entire time. I hope there will be more books in this series in the future. Congrats on another fantastic book Jaycee.

Judging a Book by it's Cover:
Cooler color scheme, very different from the first three. Story features lead characters that have played a secondary part throughout the series.
Looking Deeper:
First person POV. Alternating. Well defined. Timeline is many years after Hornet's Nest. Caleb is now second in command within the sheriff's department. Angela's on the run and finds herself back in Olde Town, but more specifically, at Caleb's door. Hate and Love are separated by such a thin line that sometimes that line blurs and gets crossed. Old feelings resurface, but circumstances couldn't be worse.
This installment to the series brings back the action and thrills that book one contained, but much more so. Caleb is a strong character but is not afraid to show his emotions. Angela tries to stay strong amidst all the turmoil surrounding her there, but she does have a few moments reminiscent of young Bella Swan circa New Moon... yuck. Luckily she gets her shit together much sooner than the other character ever did. The secondary characters are mostly those from the previous 3 books (At this point, I would strongly suggest that you've read the other books to maximize your reading experience here. This book can technically stand on it's own, but would be so much more fulfilling and rewarding if you've read the others first), some family cameos and some of Caleb's co-workers. Chemistry and compatibility between our leads are natural and enjoyable to see unfold. Cast dialogue and interaction are believable EXCEPT for the part in the hospital... knowing the situation was what it was, it should have been immediate that full measures be taken to guard all parties in need. In that, I knew what was going to happen and was rather peeved that I was right... not at Ms. Ford, but at Caleb. Yup, classic yelling "You dumbass!" at the book syndrome. That said, the plot was very engaging and dynamic. The story flowed extremely well. There were numerous conflicts of varying levels that were all handled as best as could be expected with the hands they were dealt. The climactic conflict was unique and different. The conclusion is solid. The epilogue was enjoyable. Overall, this book best matches my personal preferences, but it was also a well-balanced blend of romance and suspense. Very good read.

You can read this as a standalone novel but I really would strongly suggest that you give the other books a read first. While the book is more than able to hold up to being a standalone, I don’t know that you would get the feel for all the characters if you haven’t read the other books.
Angela is one tough cookie, but she has gotten herself into a bit of a tight spot, not by choice I might add, she is a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time but that does nothing to wipe her of the cartel’s most wanted list and because of that she turns to the only person she can trust to help her…despite the fact that she hates the sight of him and she knows the feeling is mutual. Angela hates the fact that she has had to return to town, that she has to look out for herself in this way but Caleb really is her only chance at protecting herself.
Caleb may be the upstanding law officer but that doesn’t mean that he hasn’t got the mortal fortitude of an alley cat. While the town have always been liberal with their colourful language when it comes to Angela and her nocturnal habits, Caleb hasn’t exactly been leaving much room on his bedpost either!
Caleb leaves nothing on the table, he is such a man’s man that it was nice to see him open himself to Angela, despite the fact that they had to chip away at all the obstacles that were piled up in front of them in order to finally see what was blatantly obvious. The woman he came to see underneath all that bravado wasn’t at all what he had anticipated and the ice that appeared to be ever present began to thaw.
The whole plot was really well written, there was at least one occasion where the events had me shaking my head and wondering if I had actually read it right – sometimes characters really do take on a life of their own and it appears that there is no logic to their actions, I could have given Caleb a seriously swift kick at times.
But when he wakes up and smells the coffee I do have to say that there is nothing that he would not do for those that own his heart, when he loves he is ALL IN.
I liked the pace and lilt of the book, the secondary character content and the fact that not everything was perfect – it was realistic, they did what they had to do in order to keep what they held dear. But when it all comes to ahead, there was only ever going to be one outcome and I was happy about that.
I must also say that I found the epilogue enthralling – overall a very enjoyable read.

The story has laughs, pain, grief, betrayal, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story.

If you have not read the below I recommend reading those first:
Watching Fireflies (Love Bug, #1)
Dragonfly Awakening (Love Bug, #2)
Hornet's Nest (Love Bug #3)

This is Angela and Caleb’s story. Angela is on the run. She witnessed a crime and has run to Caleb. Caleb is determined to not only protect Angela but to win her heart. He has wanted her since they were in school together but never made a move. He needs to protect her first and get her to fall for him also. Can Caleb make up for past mistakes? Caleb and his friends didn’t treat her very well in school but he wants to make it up to her. Angela is trying to grieve and keep Caleb at a distance but she wants him. Can she have him without any emotions? What if the people after her come for him? Will she be able to give her life for his? Can they both come out of this danger stronger? Can they build a relationship when all his friends were mean to her at one time or another since school? Are they going to be able to build a relationship with all the guilt they have between them?

I highly recommend this story and this series.

Love these bugs

I've read the entire "Love Bug" series and have loved them all, but this is my favorite. Jaycee's writing has matured so much over this series. I love Angela & Caleb- she's a true Southern girl and he's a true Southern guy--- she's a strong woman that life has knocked down over and over and he's a such a true gentleman that he can't not help her out, no matter his personal feelings for her. Jaycee took on some serious stuff in this book and it worked out beautifully. The characters, exposition, setting, conflicts & resolutions were all very realistic and believable, which is important. Unless I'm reading a fantasy, I want the events to be realistic. So many authors add unrealistic elements when writing this type of story and it only confuses the reader. I'm from the Carolinas and feel like the characters could be members of my own community. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a romantic thriller/suspense or hot alpha male with a strong willed female. Great job Jaycee!!! I can't wait for your next book because they just keep getting better and better.

Jaycee did it again. Another one for the win.
Jaycee grabbed my attention from page one and held me until the very end. Even though I’ve read it twice the effect is still the same and I love it even more.
Mosquito chase is not just about romance but it's action packed as well. The struggle that these characters have to go through to find love is just so amazing and intense.
The emotions in this book are real and once you get into it it’s like you’re there watching it all take place right infront of your very own eyes. Only Jaycee could make me not like a character in previous books and feel for her at the end of the series.
This is the fourth book in the Love Bug Series and what I ride it has been. It can be read as a standalone but I definitely recommend reading the previous ones first. It’s better that way TRUST ME! And you get to understand the reason behind all the emotions.
I can’t wait to see what’s next. Keep em coming Jaycee!

Caleb, from the Love Bug series, is probably the one character that we don't know much about, aside from the fact that he's Paul's brother and that he's an officer of the law.

Angie, from previous books, we've learned has the reputation of being promiscuous in their town.

What we don't know much about, which i wish we did, was their connection to each other.

When Angie is in need of help, she runs to Caleb for help. All we know is that they dislike each other.

If there was one thing that I would've liked to have known more of, it would've been their past and their connection to each other. A little prologue at the beginning about them in high school, and what had happened, it could've brought on a better insight to their strained relationship.

Overall, i really like reading the fourth book in the series! I found it to be intense, and heartbreaking in many ways. It was a real play on emotions.

4 stars!

I want to go back and change my rating for the other books in this series because this is my fav.

While the story take place in the same town and with the same characters as the other books it was different. First hot cop. Second sexy stripper and thirdly drug dealers.

The two main characters were funny in their slowly building relationship and the second story line quickly becomes part of the main story in a epic way.

This was a thrilling, sexy and smoldering read. Loved it.

Jaycee doesn't disappoint with her latest novel in the love bug series. Her characters are easily likable and the story line is rather interesting. I loved that it was different than some of the same cliche plots being written lately. It's a fast read and can be read as a stand alone. It has just the right amount of romance with a touch of action and a perfect happily ever after. This is a story you should add to your TBR list.

I received this book as an ARC for a honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Stacy Aube for Cutting Muse Blog Review.

This was hands down my favorite book in this series.
Caleb is a local police officer, and Angie is on the run after witnessing a horrible crime.

I love the dynamics between the two. Their first meeting after years is absolutely priceless.

Caleb will do anything to protect Angie no matter the cost.

It's no secret I love this series. Caleb and Angie's story is a little more of the criminal/suspense element in it than the previous books. And having started the Spider series, it appears she is sharpening her criminal justice plotlines in this story. Caleb is the hometown football hero who became part of the local police force. Angie is the much maligned girl from high school and the past sometimes girlfriend of a couple of Caleb's friends, who didn't treat the poor girl well. Leaving town with a broken heart and a bad reputation, Angie found love only to have it violently ripped from her and seeing it happen. Much to her dismay she ends up back in her hometown running from a drug cartel and pregnant.
The story follows the unlikely reintroduction and transformation of the band of friends and ex-lovers to Angie and the undeniable chemistry between her and Caleb. There are multiple layers to the plot and the characters as they go through the story. The twist with Angie's fiancé goes a long way to mend the reader's view of the poor woman. The poor woman never feels she's good enough for anyone, let alone Caleb but both of them put their feelings on the line and the dramatic conclusion to the book has the reader on the edge of their seat. I'm sad this is the last of the Love Bug series but I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next. Her stories are original, she pacing is spot on and her characters are like friends.

This is the last book in the series and I'm thinking my favorite. Caleb is the town cop and best friends with Paul, Lance and Tom. A man living his life or trying since a woman broke his heart. Then of all people to come back into his life, there standing at his door was a very pregnant Angela Butler. Why was she on my door step. He let here in and listened to her story. Something inside of him was telling him he needed to protect her from what might be coming for her. Could he get passed his hatred of this woman to save her? Once I started getting into to story, I really loved these two together. They really were suited to each other. Through all her troubles, they managed to make it together. There was a little bit of a shocking incident that had me going for some chapters but I really did think this story was fantastic.

Super thrilling story with a bonus of a fantastic romance. Having no where else to go, Angela shows up on Caleb's doorstep, pregnant and running for her life. And it just keeps getting better and better. Drug Cartels, haunting high school memories, Ex's and more ex's. The book has all of the ingredients for an amazing story and it takes the blue ribbon.

Jaycee, you've done it again. The final installment of the Love Bug Series. It's so hard to put my love of this series into words. You had me reading nonstop, flipping the pages frantically searching for answers in Caleb and Angie's story.

I've stuck with the Love Bug Series since the very beginning, and every book in the series has made me fall in love! However, I feel that Mosquito Chase is by far the best book in the series and is my new favorite. Caleb and Angie's story stole my heart. A tale of unlikely love and many plot twists that had my heart racing, made me eager to read more.

I'd highly recommend you'd read the whole series and especially this novel! It captured my interest from the very first page and I was intrigued by every page.

If you want a romance series that will keep you guessing, make you feel the need to keep reading, and fall in love all at once; The Love Bug Series is for you!

Again, Jaycee, beautiful job and I can't wait for Huntsman!
