Fallon has spent the last ten years working as a smuggler on Captain Hawk's crew. The last person he expects to run into at a bar in the middle of Jarvis Prime is the one woman who got away, the only woman he ever loved and abandoned...Dora of Petron.
When Dora bet her crewmen that she could rope the horned man on the barstool, she had no idea he'd turn out to be the merchant boy she once loved. It's been ten years since Fallon swore he'd come back for her. Ten years of heartache that Dora thought was behind her—until Fallon kidnaps her and bares his soul after one night of shattering bliss. Now he's telling her that this time she has to walk away.
Well Dora's got news for Fallon, she's no longer the lovesick teen he abandoned all those years ago. She's a grown woman who knows that sometimes you have to cross a universe to get a second chance at love.

Jordan Summers is an ex-flight attendant with a penchant for huge bookstores and big, dumb action movies. She prefers quite dinners with friends over maddening crowds. Happily married to her very own Highlander, she splits her time with her husband between two continents.
I happened to look up this author, which is one of my favorites and I found she had a new book. I was intrigued by the story line so I bought it yesterday and I swear I could not put this book down! I am not one to read an entire book in one day so that is a testament to how truly amazing this author's writing is. She gives you just enough so you want to know what happens next and before you even reach the end you are rooting for these two to get together. I absolutely love stories where friends realize later, after so many years have passed by, that they truly love each other and they get a second chance and that's what this book is about. This is a standalone book but to truly appreciate the characters, I would recommend reading the prior book, Hawk's slave so you understand the Captain of the ship and his mate Opal, too. However, if you are a true fan, like me, you may want to start your journey with the beginning and read The Dark King (which was a stellar book, too) to learn who Opal is and how she winds up on Hawk's ship.
