A very interesting read. Not a lot of detailed engineering information, but includes the stories of the workers who built the bridge and the descriptions of how they did the work. The story starts in the 1880s with development of Sydney's north shore hampered by the fact that all the jobs are south of the river. In the 1910 John Bradfield became head of the NSW Railways Engineering department and started to develop a badly-needed long term vision for rail transport in Greater Sydney. This included a rail link across the harbour from the city to North Sydney. Over the years Bradfield's vision evolved and in 1932 it became a reality. I would have liked a leeeetle more engineering detail, but realise that too much would reduce the audience for this book.
