The Federal Reserve is a leviathan that overshadows the world economy, dominating it, controlling the flow of money, affecting all our lives.
The Federal Reserve Act was passed in 1913 in reaction to the bank runs, bankruptcies and financial chaos caused by the Panic of 1907. The stated purpose of the Act was to create a stable monetary system to bring financial stability to the United States and prevent such economic crises as the Panic of 1907 from occurring again. Sixteen years after the passage of the Act, under the Federal Reserve's watch, the nation experienced the worst financial collapse in our history and descended into our deepest and darkest depression--the Great Depression--a crisis far worse than the Panic of 1907 by orders of magnitude.
Since the creation of the Fed, we have lurched from boom to bust time and again as financial crisis has followed financial crisis. By any objective measure, the Fed has failed to achieve the stated objectives of its founding. Today, our economic imbalances are extreme and compounding and approaching a day of reckoning. Another financial collapse looms and casts a dark shadow over our future. Under the stewardship of the Federal Reserve, further hardship for our struggling middle class is certain and inevitable.
It doesn't have to be this way.
Drawing heavily from the writings and ideas of Benjamin Franklin, Alfred Owen Crozier and Carroll Quigley, "The Tyranny of the Federal Reserve" looks back on how we got here and forward to a brighter future through monetary reform.
I received a copy of The Tyranny of the Federal Reserve free through Goodreads Giveaways. This does not influence my review in any way.
Where do I begin? This book is full of information that every American citizen NEEDS to know. I found it very startling to realize just how corrupt the federal reserve is. This book would be perfect for high school economics classes as well. This isn't a book that will be forgotten.
5-stars. Not because I read the whole book. 5-stars because it is so important that this book, and other books that address the same topic of our broken money-supply system, was written. It is well written and clearly covers the important issues, as well as offering the alternatives to correct the inequities that have been built into our monetary system since its inception. We American's have been duped since the beginning and the "game" has increased in its insidious bias towards the rich getting richer. Our current money system crisis of imbalance has been predicted decades ago, and yet, power structures don't have any desire to correct the crime. Shameful.
A very informative and worthy read which the author has researched indepthly.I learned so much about the origins of the Federal Reserve and the part it plays in todays society in the States and how controlling it is.It is quite a heavy read and so took me awhile to absorb the content but don't let this put you off as it has separate chapters you can tackle easily.I have a few people who I will be passing this book onto as I think it will appeal to them.I received this book from Goodreads Giveaways so am giving my opinion of it here

I had read ‘The Creature from Jekyll Island ‘ by Edward Griffin years ago and saw this book which is just as epic as Griffins book. We are so being destroyed monetarily by the federal reserve, who today is pushing spending & borrowing verses saving & investment. Who benefits from the fr......other than the very wealthy world bankers, while the 95% or rest of us are being slowly strangled and impoverished. A most well written book that will shock many Americans,👍👍
This author should be banned from Amazon. He made a point to point out the 'good' of Hitler. He called the Native Americans Indians throughout the entire book. He wants to make America 'Great Again'. Truly hope this book is taken down and the author banned from Amazon.
Should be required reading before ever casting a vote especially politicians. A succinct look at what controls America from primarily a financial viewpoint. What I found most fascinating was the books take on our wars, from WWI to the gulf wars.
The book covers the critical issues facing our country today. Solutions are provided to help the reader reduce anxiety about the future. A bit redundant and the focus on the Fed gets lost at times. Still not a bad read.
A very riveting book. It makes many good points about how our American system has been corrupted. We need to get back to our beginning again. We have lost our way and need to get back.
This book is exceptional. The author clearly outlines the history of corruption that has taken over our country. A must read for all concerned about how we got to this condition in America.
Won this book on Goodreads. It is not an easy read, at least it wasn't for me, but it really made me think and opened my eyes about aspects of our political/financial/educational world that I had not been aware of, or had not considered in the manner presented.
This book is well worth the time to read and digest. It ought to be required reading in some of our college classrooms. I recommend individuals to get a copy and open your minds to the information that is well researched and solidly presented in this book. I have loaned out the copy I won and it is making the rounds of a forth reader at this point.
