Stupid for Love #2
Wedding Wrecker: M/M Rom-Com
Tl;dr: Am I the problem for sleeping with my cousin’s groom before their wedding? I did her a favor, really!
I [25M] hate weddings, because I was jilted at mine a few years back. But while I might be cynical about love, I’m not gonna refuse free food and a five-star hotel at my cousin’s nuptials. And since I was visiting my hometown, I grabbed the opportunity to hook up before the event. What can I say? I’m an ass man, and when I spot a ripe peach, I’m gonna reach for it.
So here’s the issue: at the rehearsal dinner on the very next day, I found out the man whose cherry I took is the groom [20M].
This guy is to marry my cousin, so if he thinks I’ll let his behavior slide, he has another thing coming. He even has the audacity to make eyes at me during the wedding preparations. I don’t want to ruin the celebration, but I will tease and taunt this cheating bastard until he admits he’s gay and calls the whole thing off.
But it turns out he’s actually sweet as a basket full of puppies, lost in working out his identity, and now I’m falling for him.
Am I the villain and a wedding-wrecker? He’s the one who cheated!
(And why does his dog have to be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen? The guy cooks a mean steak, has an ass you can bounce coins off, and owns a cute dog? Come on! I’m not in the market for a husband.)
*
“Not My Groom” is an enemies-to-lovers steamy romcom filled with wedding disasters.
When a commitment-phobic cynic meets a cheating groom, who’s actually desperate for affection, only a dog can talk some sense into them.
While the books in the series share a setting each can be read as a standalone.

dnf @50%, skimmed through the rest
This book was just plain awful! Reading it hurt. In sooo many ways. Really, there was so much wrong with it. And reading the name of the series I’d say: ‘Yes, yes you are.’
This book is full of self righteous and judgemental people as well as misogynists and homophobic assholes. And somehow it felt like the author was okay with that, if not even mirroring their own views on the world and society.
I even considered giving this my first 1-star rating ever. I’m rounding up because I felt so bad for Kyle, the cheating groom.
On top of that this book is labeled a rom-com. And while I admit the blurb sounded like this book would be fun I couldn’t find any fun in there at all. Honestly, I haven’t laughed at even one line.
The romance was shit as well. I didn’t get any of it.
And in the end I was so stunned by how bad this was I couldn’t even put it down. *lmaoooo NOT RECOMMENDED!

“Baby, you’re the jackpot to me. And not just because you’ve got the perfect ass. You’re so… lovely. And honest. Insatiable in bed. Open heart, open legs.”
Not My Groom is the story of Logan, who we first meet in Oblivious Roommate. I will be honest, he did not leave a good impression. I disliked him, but despite that I was looking forward to his story.
We have Logon, who returns to his hometown for his cousin's wedding. The night before, he decides to go horse riding and goes to the stable and is reunited with Kyle, who he knew when they were younger. He's instantly attracted to him and tries his luck, hoping that Kyle is gay or bi. They hook up, Logan fully aware that he's the first man Kyle has slept with. He's one and done but finds out he slept with the groom the next day.
Despite Kyle and his future wife having nothing in common and him being gay, he wants to get married to appease his mother and feels that in order to have a family and children one day that this is his only option. He feels trapped, and despite not being able to get Logan out of his mind decides to through with it.
Logan has been left at the altar by his ex and hates cheaters. He wants to ruin the wedding and make kyle come to his senses.
So I mentioned that I didn't like Logan in the first book, well I didn't like him in his book either…for almost 75-80%. I get that he's been burned twice due to his experiences and seeing deceitful relationships (his cousin's wedding being the most recent) made him a commitment-phobe. But goodness, he's terrible to Kyle.
I actually liked Kyle; he was sort of an obsessed puppy but so sweet. He really comes to life and loves Logan, but Logan doesn't trust him - which is fair. However, I am glad they realize they're meant to be. Logan becomes so likeable towards the end; he's actually a softie who's been hurt.
The sex was hot. It's steamy and well-written; I loved how intense their chemistry was.
Overall I really enjoyed Not My Groom. Kyle and Logan are total opposites who are meant to be (once Logan comes to his senses), and despite their rough path, they get such a sweet and romantic HEA.
I'm super excited for the next book, I've been looking forward to Aaron's story since book 1!

Logan loves chaos and his romance with Kyle is no different. I was initially curious about Logan's story and what kind of shenanigans he would get into and his story did not disappoint. He ends up sleeping with a closeted groom days before his wedding. This is a recipe for disaster and creates such an interesting foundation for these two.
Kyle and Logan have amazing chemistry with an instant connection. Their lives are further complicated due to Kyle being closeted and Logan being unwilling to trust a cheater. Because of these hurdles, their relationship stalls for a large portion of the story until Logan finally realizes the depth of his feelings.
Overall this is another entertaining entry in this mostly low-angst series. I enjoy the characters and the interesting situations they find themselves in. There is never a dull moment.

This was a fun read and Logan clearly loves the peach, especially Kyle’s..even I was lusting after it lol
The main reason for my rating is due to the pacing of the story and how it was written when Logan and Kyle came back into each others lives.
I loved the part where they meet, but after the wedding I struggled a little as Kyle changed so drastically in his behaviour and turning up at Logan’s and the “boyfriend” thing was weird to me as it came across as creepy and awkward, that put me off their relationship as it just felt like Kyle was the clingy one night stand stalker.
I like some detail when a build up in a relationship is happening and it just felt quick and erratic with a very rushed ending. I didn’t feel anything between these guys at the end like I did with their first encounter, which was super hot. That’s just my honest opinion, but overall like I say, it’s a fun read.

My first opinion on Logan stands, he's quite the asshole with double standards.
A little digress: in the first book, he's dating Cass, he proposed him an open realationship and, while he was the only one who benefited from that (Cass said he only hooked up with others twice), later in the book he tells Cass that he proposed to be open just to see if Cass would have fight for him (but still, he was happily fucking around).
When he talks with Kayla, though, he tells a completely different story, he feels like Cass cheated on him (because he kissed a guy in costume and wanted to know who he was): "I had a thing with a guy last year, and sure we were open but I still feel like he cheated on me with the way things ended". When he talks with Kyle, he says: "We just wanted to fuck around." Excuse me, what? Cassian clearly said he wanted to be exclusive, he wanted to have "the person".
The author even makes Kai tell Kyle that when Cass lost his roommate, he proposed his best friend to move in with him instead of Logan. But in the previous book, it's Logan himself who admitted he refused Cass' proposal to live togheter.
I honestly don't understand why the author chose to rewrite Cassian and Logan's relationship to make Logan appear as the poor guy.
I also didn't like all the mean things Logan throw at Kyle the days before the wedding. And Kayla was even worse than him, they were quite the pair.
I didn't like Logan for almost the entire book: I know he was deeply hurt, but he's also arrogant, he thinks no one can resist him, he judges other's people life choices without even trying to understand them (he was so mean with Kyle at first, he didn't bother to think about what he was going through with his strict family and controlling girlfriend). And he's not even out to his own family (no need do to that if he'll end up with a girl, how convenient is that?).
I think Kyle made it all clear:
Logan "I don't date cheaters" Kyle "No, you're just the guy who fucked me knowing my fianceé was cheating on me and left me to deal with the fallout" ... "Aren't you morally superior. Never made a fucking mistake in your life."
My 3.5 stars rating are all for Kyle: he's spontaneous, caring, thoughtful, kind, maybe a little naive too, but after his wedding debacle, he's not scared anymore. I loved how he was so brave to leave his family and his safety nest to move away and start living an honest life. I also loved how he put effort to make new friends and to work two jobs, while taking care of Logan and his house, he truly wanted to be a new man. He's such a sweetheart.
I really liked the last 20% of the story: finally we see the romance, finally Logan feels other emotions than hurt and anger, finally he stops fighting what he feels for Kyle and surrenders to their love. The epilogue is very beautiful and perfect for them.
Next book will be about Aaron and I'm very curious about it.
I recommend this story if you're looking for a nice light reading.

Not my Groom by Devon Doe was another funny and lighthearted grumpshine romance,
Logan got burned one time too many, so ONS are his MO and lucky him, he’s able to pluck a ripe peach right before the dreadful wedding of his cousin!
(Un)fortunately the ONS turned groom to be and Logan is livid!
After an unforgettable night, Kyle is …confused … and slightly obsessed. Too bad, that it’s not his bride to be, that occupies his mind 24/7.
An unexpected situation forces them to a proximity of convenience situation and Kyles character development was a true delight. Logan however is deadset that he’ll never ever commit again!
I could totally feel Logan, after being burned one time too many, he’s a commitmentphobe galore, while Kyle is relentless! Okay, so I really like my characters obsessed and weird, lovely in the crazy kind of way and Logan&Kyle delivered. The nuances in their dynamics changed over the span of this story and were a mix of wholesome and hot but also tease and denial, so much fun!
The cast of „Rainbowology“ was yet another delightful support, to give more growth to our MCs (especially Kyle) and I’m so curious about all their personal stories!
An incredible add on this time was the super solid HEA and a rather cute follow up bonus story!
some tags:
queer - bisexual&gay - lgbtq side characters - cheating (not between MCs) - first time - chance meeting - awakening - light internalized homophobic believes - lighthearted - forced proximity of convenience - college age (20&25) - wedding crasher - light e2bff2l - hea with epilogue
brief situation with drunk driving & car accident (no mature injuries)

It’s pleasure, it’s pain, it’s delicious and emotional while also being so harsh and raw. All that matters is that he’s holding me, touching me, that he’s inside me.

His home and his presence smell like safety.

I don’t regret the hundreds of miles I’ve driven to reach this man, even if this night were to be all I get from him.

I'm not done yet but needed to write it down before I forget. Min points for Logan because he enjoyed pushing someone in the pool who can’t swim. Why do people think it's funny to push people in pools?
Ugh Logan gets getting worse. I don’t like cheaters either but you don’t have to get so mean. And that Kayla what a b*tch.
Logan: 'Kayla are we the villains?' YES YOU ARE!!!
Around 80% Logan does a 180 in 2 seconds and I mostly stopped hoping Kyle would find someone else, someone better.....
Well at least the book was written well enough I kept reading it so 3 stars for that😅

2.5 stars. This book was kind of all over the place. The first half does what the blurb says. Logan, the wronged lover from book 1, unknowingly hooks up with his cousin’s fiancé just before the wedding and takes it badly when he finds out. The groom, a hapless country boy named Kyle, is seriously questioning his sexuality and doesn’t know what hit him. It was a kind of comedy of errors and I found it pretty entertaining. The two had pretty explosive chemistry, even if their initial hook up felt wildly unrealistic.
Then the second part of the book is Kyle being quite desperate and inserting himself into Logan’s life following an accident. And although Logan is attracted to him, he tried to keep his distance. We get a lot of Kyle pining after Logan and being like-able, if a bit pathetic. Anyway, still pretty amusing.
Then the last 20% or so just jumps the shark completely. Logan’s feelings go from like tepid and a bit ambivalent to supernova in a heartbeat and the ending just feels so deeply absurd that I couldn’t even find it funny. I really, really don’t understand why the author chose to make the choice she did at the end. You’ll know what I mean if you read it, it was just a very WTF moment and honestly did not make the story more romantic in any way.
So like, could have been a great book overall. I loved the rom-com vibes, but it just completely collapsed in the last stretch.

2.5 Stars. Rounding up because I don't like to be mean or round down.
Kyle is 20, and about to have a sexual awakening that he is in fact gay. Logan is 25 and openly bi to everyone but his family and hometown. They meet the weekend of Kyle's wedding to Logan's cousin. They have sex with each other before they know who they are, Kyle cheats on his fiance which is ugly. Logan then has a mission to break up this wedding because this couple should not be marrying, though his reasons are a bit more complex than that.
It's funny. As I was reading this book I was thinking to myself there are some things about the story that just aren't to my cup of tea but so far the storytelling is fine, so I don't want to rate It low due to my personal preferences. I could literally pinpoint the moment in the storytelling where I decided, s*** you jumped the shark, and now you deserve a lower rating in my brain. That moment was when the love confession happened and everything after that was downhill.
I know these guys lived together for 2 months and they did grow close but it was too early for that love bomb. Their interactions have been strictly platonic for these two months with no hope of a romantic or sexual relationship dangling. The author has to put some work into showing us feelings. I've read other books where the characters aren't in a romantic relationship, and feelings develop and I love you so is said, and it's believable and a natural development. But in this one I feel like the work wasn't done to make us believe the I love you.
A bunch more nails in the coffin happened after that.
1. Like Kyle driving drunk and getting in a car accident, hitting a tree. The book is vague about the scope of the car accident and how much damage was done to the car, so if it was super minor maybe I can understand a lack of insurance / cops. But there were no consequences to that. No talk about what happened. No acknowledgment that it shouldn't have happened. No cops or Insurance called, instead Kyle and Logan just gleefully get together romantically, I am very against drunk driving and I can't tolerate there not being consequences and I can't suspend disbelief that insurance and the cops wouldn't be involved, if I was Levi I would be calling. I understand Logan not wanting to involve them.
2. Logan proposing marriage right after they get together the night of the car accident. It's not as a knee-jerk reaction of oh I could have lost you to the accident. I don't fully understand his motivations for jumping right into marriage, other than it comes full circle and wraps everything up in a bow for the author LOL. But it was jumping the gun, I can't relate to this. I know they've been friends and roommates and they've been developing a relationship for 2 months. But they're not romantic partners. And it feels like it doesn't do justice to their relationship to skip over the developing a romantic relationship part and move straight to marriage. It just came off as a checkbox that the author wanted to check off on their path to the end of the story. It wasn't natural.
3. Logan gets schmoopy when that is not his personality. And they jump right into having unprotected sex with no talk about safe sex or testing. Based on the fact that Madison was cheating on Kyle and Logan was a casual sex and open relationship guy, testing should happen.
I have to say that there were moments before those things that I didn't like. But I kind of wrote those off a little bit as being my personal preferences and it being within the author's creative license to go there. Like I don't like cheating in general as a trope, but I knew what I was getting into reading this book given the blurb. And another thing I wasn't comfortable with for example was when Logan told Kyle that he didn't want to have a relationship with him because he doesn't do relationships with cheaters and then he made some comment about maybe we could hook up though but I wouldn't give you an exclusive relationship. And I was just like, I kind of relate to a moral code of not wanting to get involved with someone who has a past of cheating, but so UGLY of a person to be like "you're not good enough to date but I'll f*** you."
Some things that were positive about the book though... Outside of his cheating, Kyle was a nice guy. I did like that there was actual like getting to know each other and them fitting into each other's lives naturally. The smut was pretty good, there was good heat between the characters. The people around them picking up on the closeness between them was also nice and fun to read. The moments with the dog were nice. So it really was a decent read for me until it's swan dived for me at the 80% mark.
Some notable moments:
"I put my hand over his belt buckle though, so he can’t slip away and knows I’m not going anywhere either. I smirk at him, my lips less than an inch away. “Yeah? Not even a little slap?” He’s breathing so fast I can only imagine how chaotic his mind must be, but instead of answering he shakes his head and pulls me down by the neck, clashing his mouth with mine like a starving man who’s finally found a piece of bread."
I don't like the cheating but the irresistible tension between them is nice. "It’s painfully obvious that if I pushed him on the bed now, he’d let me pound him into the mattress all night and only regret his actions in the morning."
Crazy moment.... "He snorts and strokes my head. “Did you just out me?” My blood runs cold, and I barely keep the phone in my hand. “Oh no. Oh no. I can... maybe I can still unsend it,” I say and unlock the screen, but he grabs my hand to stop me. “No, I married you, remember? I’m just laughing because it’s such a you thing to do! I want everyone to know. Send me the photo.”"

Entertaining and fun read, a little OTT maybe. Very much a rom-com, low on angst and full of ridiculousness.
Would’ve preferred more of them actually together, it felt like 60 percent of the book was just them as roommates.
3.5 ⭐️
CW and tropes (spoilers):
- cheating (not between MCs)
- closeted bisexual mc vs gay awakening
- commitment-phobic
- dog owner mc
POV: dual, 1st person

Logan and Kyle's relationship throughout the book starts backwards, is messy and complicated, but also very sweet.
I'm enjoying the series and worried that I wouldn't like Logan as much as I did. Don't get me wrong, he's difficult to like at first, but I got where he was coming from.
Looking forward to Aaron's book

I liked this ok, but I thought it was a little predictable. I also thought them waiting so long to have sex was kind of silly.

Me encantó!
Nota: Recibí una copia anticipada de este libro de Gay Romance Reviews y esta ha sido mi honesta reseña.
(EN) Second book I read from this author and she has already become an auto-buy for me. She writes extremely lovable characters with whom is easy to empathize and that is my weak point. If we add that she manages to make us laugh with her stories, we can't ask for more.
The story begins with Logan having a one-night stand with a certain Kyle. The next day he attends to her cousin's wedding and realizes that the aforementioned is nothing other than the groom!!!
So we have a character who, having read the first book of the series, we aren’t very fond of and a new one who is a cheater. Awsome! But... they both end up being super cute and we read the whole book wishing that they have their happy forever.
I loved it!

Overall a fun read and I liked Logan and Kyle and I especially enjoyed the first half of the book (wedding fiasco). The main thing that I was bothered by was the way Logan’s confession felt very sudden. I realise that he simply was scared to acknowledge his feelings earlier but it still felt like he did a one-eighty. The rest of the pages were pure sap and sex (a chapter or two so it wasn’t overly long). I kind of understand why Logan and Kyle had to marry in this book (considering the theme and them both previously having failed weddings) but it still felt way too quick and a little unbelievable to me. I definitely felt that they needed more time…

A bit rushed, but it had its moments. These books definitely feel a bit like rom-coms and are a bit over the top, which is charming. I have high hopes for Aaron.

Logan was just a horrible person. Loved Kyle so much (and Jekyll).

I am so excited for Devon Doe, I cannot express! I loved the first book in this series, and I’m thrilled she has a quick release schedule for both this book and the third in the series.
While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it does have more angst than the first, which was just pure delight and silliness. This one, however, has more weight to it and the conflict is a bit more complicated.
Logan was the boyfriend in the previous book, who managed not to be a bad guy even if I didn’t really like him all that much in it. This book can’t really be called a “redemption” since he technically didn’t do anything wrong, so maybe it’s more a “revelation,” in that we get to know him and what’s going on behind all that drawl and under the cowboy hat.
Logan is in town for his cousin’s wedding and he’s looking to get laid after the rather sorry end to his previous relationship. Weddings aren’t really his thing, since he was left at the altar himself, but he’s open for a good roll in the hay. And he gets that literally: doe-eyed Kyle accepts his proposition at his horse ranch and they go at it on top of a hay bale. It’s a great time.
The only problem? Logan learns the next day that Kyle is his cousin’s fiancée and days away from being married. Logan hates cheaters and ironically teams up with the woman who left him at the altar to reveal Kyle as the liar he is, get him to admit he’s gay and convince him to call off the wedding.
Kyle wasn’t expecting to see the first man he’s ever been with at his wedding rehearsal dinner. Logan’s presence sends him into a deeper spiral, just another layer to his realization that he is gay. But he’s in too deep with his very particular fiancée and their expensive wedding to pull out now, isn’t he?
I can’t really talk about the book without spoiling the middle bit and how it continues, so spoilers ahead.
It was obvious that Kyle’s fiancee was cheating, and to be honest, she kind of had to be to make it so that Kyle wasn’t an irredeemable characters for his actions with Logan. Although, for how much Logan talked about how he wasn’t going to let Kyle cheat again, he went back on that — he slept with Kyle again, on his wedding day, before telling him the truth about his cousin’s infidelity. He wanted Kyle to “be able to make his choice with all the information,” as if that was somehow noble combined with how he pounded the groom into a vanity? It was the biggest display of hypocrisy, but it was a very hot sex scene, soooo
After Logan leaves town and heads back home, is when things get really sweet and cute and more on par with the first book, tone wise. Kyle isn’t quite the himbo that Matthew was in the first book, but he’s in the same wheelhouse. He’s a sweet little lamb, lost in the gay wilderness, gravitating toward Logan, his sexy gay shepherd. Kyle is just trying to do his best, and he’s essentially fled his home town and family in the aftermath of ending his relationship without getting married.
Kyle moves in with Logan, taking care of him after Logan is injured, and it’s so wholesome. He’s accommodating and thoughtful, killing Logan with kindness and truly easing himself into Logan’s life and heart. Kyle deserves a warm hug, and it does take Logan too long to figure out that he’s in love with Kyle, too. I really liked that Kyle is up front about his feelings for Logan and his desire to be together. But he’s also patient and accepting that Logan doesn’t want that/isn’t ready for it. Of course, Logan’s jealousy rears its head when Kyle makes efforts to move on. Whatever, he was being a bonehead.
I’m not sure I liked the ending (Kyle and Logan eloping), because it felt a bit premature. Yes, it was about Logan letting Kyle know he was all in, but … I dunno, I think I would have been more comfortable if they had been engaged and that was all.
This book was also sexier than the previous, since Kyle and Logan get it on right away and have pretty intense chemistry the whole time. It’s almost of reverse of the previous book: sex right away and then the pining later on. But all of the scenes were incredible and hot.
Overall, a fantastic follow up and I can’t wait to read the third!

First, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews, and this is me leaving my honest review.
I’ve Gotta be honest and say I was looking forward to reading Logan story after meeting him in the first book in the series. Logan has been hurt by men and women so he’s quite cynical about relationships but he doesn’t want any commitment. He doesn’t want any relationships he’s happy booking up and keeping life simple. When he gets called back home because his cousin is getting married, he’s not overly impressed. His parents mainly his dad starts having a go at him about running the family business and he ends up walking away. I’m going to a friends stables to see if he can borrow a horse to let off some steam. And this is where we meet the man with the perfect bum.
Kyle is helping out at the stables when he sees Logan, who he knows of, they start having some friendly banter until Kyle feels Logan sleeps on his. And it’s like a switch been flipped before he knows it they are hooking up. He has always been attracted to men but since his mum caught him looking at bail porn, she changed his mind.
But what Logan doesn’t know is that Kyle is marrying his cousin in a few days. When they are an evening reception, when the bride and groom to be our announce, he sees Kyle walking beside Madison his cousin, Logan is livid.
Anyway, I’ll leave you to read about what happens that weekend, but a few days later Logan is back home and he’s working at the stables. When he hears Kyle’s voice, he panics starts climbing up the ladder then falls ending up with him breaking his ankle. So Kyle says if he can stay with Logan he will help him out do his jobs cook the food. Logan agrees
The problem is Kyle is very new to the gay scene, so he feels like Logan is his boyfriend this is where Logan puts his foot down and says look we can hook up you can sleep with other people, you’re not my boyfriend we’re not in a relationship, there is no commitment because Kyle has cheated once, and he will do it again. Kyle turned him down and they end up being roommates, but that attraction doesn’t leave. So where will this leave Logan and Kyle??
I have got to say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this book I don’t like slow burns which I felt this was for a fast slow then fast. But you could not help but feel the attraction between these men. They were sizzling l. The passion that these to share is just lustful, it is hot woohoo yummy honestly the banter and the little looks make my heart sing. You have got to read this book. Honestly I just couldn’t put it down.

It's not a bad book but there were a couple of niggles I wasn't too keen of.
Logan meets Kyle in his hometown and basically seduces the gay virgin for a hook up. No harm done until he realises the next day that Kyle is his cousin's husband-to-be.
Determind to make Kyle to confess Logan tries everything, including more seduction. Lots of drama later Kyle ends up running after Logan and a forced proxemity shows one commitment phoebic and a romantic that they are good for each other.
There are lots of fun scenes, lots of background why Kyle and Logan behave the way they do, a dog stealing the scenes and nice secondary characters.
You have the "I don't want a relationship but I also don't want anyone else to flirt with him" scenario and Logan gets told a couple of truths by his friend.
So, what are the problems: I hate how Logan behaves towards Kyle before the wedding. Yes, Kyle cheated but the rest, it could have done better. There was more cliche drama than in a telenovela. My view on him changed when they re-connected though.
I personally found Kyle quite naive and needy. Also his acceptance in his sexual orientation was very quick. When I downloaded the book based on the blurb I didn't realise that the numbers stated are the actual character's age. That does explain a lot and I don't think I would have started reading it if I had know this.
The last chapter - so corny I actually forced myself to finish it.
Not sure I will read this author again.

This is Logan and Kyle's story. If you read the first book in the series, you will know that Logan was a secondary character in that story. As the soon to be ex boyfriend of the main character in book 1, his character made it hard to cheer for. Nevertheless, I was surprised to find out Logan was getting his own book.
This first half of the book you got to know Logan and Kyle and who they are. Logan and Kyle hook up, only for Logan to later realize Kyle is engaged and set to Wed his cousin. This hits Logan the wrong way, as he was hurt in a past relationship with someone who he felt cheated on him. Even though he enjoyed being with Kyle, he lost respect for him in the process.
Kyle's character is so confused about his new feelings and understanding of his situation with Logan. All he knows is that he still wants Logan, even though he knows he shouldn't.
The first half of the book focuses on that, leading all the way up to the wedding. The second half is the about the aftermath and repercussions of Kyle's realization that he might not be so straight anymore, as well as Logan's journey of what comes next.
I enjoyed this story. It was funny, dirty and sometimes heartbreaking. I loved all of these dynamics in this story. It made for a great entertaining read. I look forward to the next book in the series!
I received a free copy of this book via Gay Romance Reviews and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Where do I even start??? So, of course you read Oblivious Roommate and you read about Logan. Little arrogant, little cocky, little jerkish. But, his story needed telling, too. Cause no way was that how we were supposed to remember him. So….here is Logan’s story.
Logan is a mid twenties transplant from Texas who works with horses, and still wears a sexy cowboy hat. He is a tall drink of water and has all the boys thirsty. Especially Kyle. Who Logan sees briefly, feels an instant lust connection, and proceeds to have a one time fling with. Never guessing that he’d be the man that is supposed to be marrying Logan’s cousin.
Kyle is an early twenties sweetheart who kind of gets swept along when stronger personalities swoop in. Hence the reason he is marrying a strong female but hooking up with a stranger for a one off. When he sees that one off and finds out Logan is his fiancés cousin 😳 whoa!
It takes some serious twists and turns, a sh!t ton of laughs, but these boys will get their hea. You will want to be there for it. Promise. Pinky promise 😉 Devon Doe is a talented writer full of wit and heart. Her stories will give you the feels but also make sure your laughing when your done.

The redemption of Logan ❤️ For those who've read the first book, Logan was the boyfriend we loved to hate. Devon Doe did a fantastic job shedding light onto just why Logan was the way he was by giving a glimpse into his past experience with heartbreak and relationships. Enter Kyle, innocent with a heart of gold and the nicest peach Logan has ever seen. When a one off turns into a disaster, let the shenanigans begin. Logan was angry, vindictive and a downright ass at first but then circumstances force Logan to spend time with Kyle and get to know him and the man behind the mess. Their relationship development was adorable, Kyle was so patient and kind to Logan even though at times he wasn't deserving, he still insisted on showing Logan that he was worthy and cared for. Kyle was a love, an absolute sweetheart. I couldn't have picked a better character to knock Logan on his ass by true love and affection ❤️ the ending....A- FREAKING -DORABLE, I can't wait for the next book in this series, I'm loving it!!!

A ruined wedding and an awakening
This book was a clusterfluck of decisions and feelings.
Logan comes back to Texas for his cousin's wedding and needs to blow off some steam so he goes to a local ranch to see if he can take a horse out to ride. Instead he finds the perfect butt. He wants it so he takes a chance and when the man accepts his advances they have a fantastic roll in the hay....literally.
However, the next day the wedding festivities begin. When the bride and groom come out Logan is absolutely shocked to see the man he was with last night.
Turns out Kyle is the groom and now Logan wants to ruin him. The next days of wedding stuff are awkward, hilarious and hot. Though when it comes down to it the wedding doesn't happen.
When Kyle suddenly shows up at the stable Logan works at he attempts to hide but instead make a mess of himself and his ankle. So with Kyle and his dog needing a place to stay and Logan needing help they make an agreement to be roommates.
I absolutely love the characters in this book. The way everything goes down is perfect and there is so much that had me laughing.

I have liked Devon Doe's debut novel, Oblivious Roommate & though I didn't like Logan in the first book, in this book I could get why he was so commitment-phobic.
Logan is a commitment-phobic cynic who likes to have hookups & when he is in his hometown to attend his cousin's wedding, he meets Mr Ass of the Year aka Kyle. They hook up but Logan doesn't know that Kyle is the groom at the wedding he is attending. As Logan figures Kyle is cheating on his cousin, he plans to break their wedding. But on the other side, Kyle can't get over his confusing thoughts about his sexuality & what should he do.
Logan & Kyle have instant chemistry & Kyle's dog was such a cutest character. Though Logan never trusted Kyle because he thought he was a cheater but Kyle's feelings for him were growing as they stayed together. I liked how domestic they were & how Logan start to care for Kyle.
I liked this story so much, the epilogue & the bonus scenes were cute; I loved Logan, Kyle, Jekyll & two other members who joined their family so much.

It was somehow entertaining to watch all the back and forth between Kyle and Logan while they were trying to figure out what were they going to be to each other - lovers, enemies, boyfriends, husbands. Both of them had an impressive heap of denials, fears and insecurities to wade through but all the witty banter, funny and sometimes bordering on absurd, situations they got themselves into were lightening the mood and helping to ease the read.
I liked the blurb more than the way the story unfolded. The cheating and the almost weddings didn't put me off - on the contrary! They illuminated the need of personal growth for all the characters that went through these hardships and gave them valuable life lessons. But the way Logan treated Kyle definitely did put me off. And Kyle turning into a sad lost puppy trailing after Logan - not the best behaviour and decision either.
Overall it was a good, thought provoking read.

I was very curious about Logan's character after reading Not My Roommate, and I.. think is character is a bit to harsh for me.
Not to say that his character is bad.. it's just his character seems to brash, and judgemental. I mean, he objectives people and views their bodies, but yet he treats Kyle like scum before even talking about what happened? Obviously Kyle's character didn't have a problem with how Logan treated him but I did! I was hoping that Logan would find his person, and that his person would challenge him yet be supportive. Yet, this book was full of Logan being downright cruel to Kyle and Kyle being a doormat until the end of the book.
That's just my view on the characters, not on how this was written. I thought the story itself was well written, I loved that there were so many scenes with either horses or with Kyle's dog, those scenes were so cute! This book is also quite full of spicy times along with details of how to cook a steak. (You'll know what I mean once you read it. )
Overall a well written story, and I hope Kai gets his own book soon!
