-freebie which was an incentive to try it out.
-shifter romance, which is like crack to me. Add in a BBW heroine and I'm usually in heaven.
-her size isn't a focus, just a garnish, which is just how I like it.
-a very good outline of a plot, with decent twists and turns that again, not dependent on her size.
-Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of the heroine, Holly. She starts off as a doormat, and a haughty one at that. Her character arc is decent, but I never grew to like her very much.
-The hero, Jacob, isn't very compelling either, at least not in relation to the romance. He is more interesting in his interactions with his family than with Holly.
-Needs editing. The sex is plentiful and it's clear that this was a serial, which has a different rhythm than a novel. As a result, there's inconsistencies, way too much sex and repetitious passages. I like sex scenes in my romances, but when there are that many in a row, it turns into white noise, and means nothing.
There's potential, but lack of editing and compelling leads makes this shifter romance fall short. I would give this author another shot, perhaps with a novel, instead of a serial.

This is the series set, and it was wonderful to be able to keep reading to the end. Jacob, Alpha of his clan needs a mate. There are none in his area, so he uses a website. Holly is a teacher and divorced and at 39 yrs. old wants a faithful man, children and a good life, so she uses a website too. After their initial emails and correspondence, she decides she's willing to go to him and check this chance at happiness out in person. Deep characters that we like right away, an interesting story with action, and super hot sex scenes make this worthwhile. They meet, court, she struggle to decide, and he must tell her about his bear shifting. The shift makes her more attracted to him because it answered some of her questions as to his behavior. Jacob is a strong alpha bear, so loving yet fierce. There are troubles along the way, bad people, a curse, and a rescue. This well written story has everything you could want. Holly lead a sheltered life and is immature, but we get to watch her get strong and accepting.

Boring

Nope.
When I started reading this, I got 62% and I had to stop out of sheer boredom. It took me more than 2 months to try it again. While this story started out well enough, I realize now it was just intrigue - a need to figure out the bloody answer to the question of what the Hell is going on.
At the end of the day, this series was far too long winded (it was 5 parts that could have been cut down to 2 or 3 parts at the most), had way too much pointless sex that would get progressively more violent. I didn't really get the sense that Jacob loved his mate, considering how he would treat her at times and how violent the sex would get (getting upset for her slowing him down when he chokes her so hard she can't breathe). Unlike other shifter novels, apparently Jacob and his bear are not one. As a matter of fact he calls it a beast (no wonder it's pissy). Holly doesn't make sense. She wants to be submissive and seems to equate that with being a pushover. She makes a ridiculous comment about not liking to be humiliated in public, but at a raised eyebrow from Jacob, she qualifies that she likes being humiliated in the bedroom. Who the he'll likes being humiliated ever??!!? I was done at that point, but I skimmed through to at least see how the book ended. All in all, I didn't like either MC.
So at the end of the day, with all the long-windedness and sex that doesn't move the story forward, this story was all drama and darkness and no light. The ending was lackluster and still didn't let the reader know if the curse was resolved (which is silly considering the excess narrative). Depressing and I'm sad I wasted my time.

I loved this story!, especially with the characters being older in age. Wonderful and Refreshing
Holly is a divorced lady who has a friend, Alice, who talks her into filling out a on line dating app, Meet your mate. Feeling silly about it she has no expectations but...someone does answer.
Jacob is a bear shifter and Alpha of his clan. His father fell under a spell years ago that has kept him in his beast form. Jacob feels if he doesn't find his mate soon the same will befall him. Hoping the dating app his downloaded will help, and it does. But will the woman accept all of him?
Holly's character grows more and more each chapter, no longer the shy teacher she becomes very strong and uh opinionated you could say. Well all of this is new to her but her heart knows what it wants and it wants Jacob.
Jacob's character is strong throughout, his beast gets more antsy and pushes Jacobs boundaries each shift. You can feel his internal struggles, thank goodness Holly is good at keeping him balanced.
Sit back, grab a drink, relax and read this wonderful story. It holds more than just finding love, there is someone who is trying to destroy the Alpha and his clan.
Mature readers 18+, strong language and sexual content.

I was new to this author so I didn't know what to expect and what a pleasant surprise! This was an absolute treat, I would definitely recommend this complete series to anyone, and if you are like me and you are new to this author and are unsure about jumping straight in and buying the complete series, do not be worried, this is worth it! It is well written, the characters are likeable, and the storyline is superb, so much so that I cannot wait to find out what happens with the others people in the books.
I will definitely be adding Morgan Rae to my list of authors now, a thoroughly enjoyable shifter book. This had a little of everything, which held my interest from the beginning to the end, and like I said earlier, I am now desperate to find out what happened to Jacobs brother, Brent so I will need to buy another of Morgan's books
Do not hesitate to buy this book, treat yourself, you won't regret it.

Holly has one of those moments where she finally get it. She realizes she has made a mess of her life and given in to the demands of others without consideration for her own wants and needs. She is divorced and alone when she agrees to sign up for a matchmaking service. Jacob is in desperate need of a change as well. He really needs a mate to balance him and keep him in control. Each author has their own take on shifters and how they balance their two selves. This one is a more dark view of what can happen to a shifter. It explores their relationship developing and the dangers they face together. I enjoyed seeing Holly come into her own and grow in strength. I received a copy in return for a honest review.

Not bad.....
I was looking for work done by an author other than my regulars. I don't remember reading anything by Morgan before. The plot of this series was not bad and it is good to have the complete series in one book. It is somewhat of an "oil meets water" kind of story that turned out okay in the end. There were some really slow spots in the book that seemed to be too much narrative that caused an inconsistent pace.....at times really interesting and then all of a sudden the story became luke warm almost boring then it would pick up the pace again. I've read worse...this one was okay.

Love the story
I loved the story. All the characters are great. I would have given it five stars if the editing had been better. There are a lot of wrong words, sentence structure issues and words in the wrong place. The story itself was great though. I'm hoping there are more books to come from the Red Moon Ranch. I'd like to see how Trish and Cayden turn out and if Brent grows up and finds a mate. I'd even like to read about Mr. Westmore's time as a bear and how he rebuilds his life with Mama Bear and the Clan.

Too much unnecessary sex
I don't mind some regular sex but s&m is not interesting to me. I don't see that as romantic. The story could have been better the author has talent but to many angles that didn't fit together for me. I think the author should have written a book on explicit sex, then a shifter romance. This just didn't do it for me. I wish I could get my time back .

These books were a typical were-type storyline...angst, drama, sex, love, sex, mystery, adventure, sex, and family issues. I liked the main characters, for the most part. I did feel that the switch from English Professor to sex-Queen was a little unbelievable...but what do I know? Anyway, I read all the books in the set, so must have liked them well enough!!

The concept and ideas of the book were interesting and slightly different than others. I found the book to be inconsistencies within a few of the scenes... (yeah I reread what I read to make sure I wasn't missing something.)
Overall an ok paranormal romance, that left some unknowns open.

A well written book. I loved it. It is a shifter story with bears and big cats. I love shifter stories and this collection is great. I encourage you to get this book, I do think you will enjoy it. This is the first of Morgan Rae book that I have read but it will not be the last. I think this is a wonderful story.

It was good.
This book had a storyline. I enjoy shifter books that actually has a plot and not just sex.
Sex is in the book but it isn't just about sex. I will definitely read more from this author.

Loved it!

Strange but so Interesting
I like bears and their gruffiness . This surely gave me my full. The sex was a little rough at times but what can one expect from a sorta part bear person. One has to like " it" wild once in a while.!!

Exciting all the way through
I thoroughly enjoyed every page in this book. It never lulled or lost my interest.

Fantastic read
OMFG, this is snoop awesome, I am glad I read this series. I absolutely loved the fact the characters drew me in from the start and kept me wanting more, and Morgan made sure that I was not disappointed. I love this series.

By the end, I was fond of Jacob, but thought he had strange family dynamics. The story felt rushed, some details were glossed-over, and relationships just seemed shallow. Also, an editor would have helped with the mis-used words.

It was a great series! A geeky teacher meets a man through a dating app (NOT A MAIL ORDER CATALOG) and meets a burly man who is gruff and harsh but he melts when it comes to her! DUH!

Wanted to pack my bags and head to Red Moon Ranch; but since Jacob had already found his mate (Holly),all I could do was read their story. It was thrilling and romantic! Excellent read.
