Being addicted to Sujatha's writings, I have decided to read a different author, substantially a underrated author. Then I came across this book "Rudraveenai" by Indira Soundarrajan. I must say it is not succulent as Sujatha's writing but definitely a worth reading one. Despite schematic writing,the plot keeps you plunged in it at all times. While I am writing this, I have planned to take up his next book.

Ruthra Veenai is a devotional Tamil book that gives you goosebumps in certain places, whether you believe in God or not. It's a magical and intriguing story with a well-crafted narrative. The parallel storylines and how they intertwine are incredibly well told. However, before starting this book, you should have a good understanding of pure Tamil.

A fantastic supernatural suspense thriller!

ருத்ரவீணை ஒரு அற்புதமான படைப்பு! இந்திரா சௌந்த்ராஜன் அவர்களுடைய நூல்களில் நான் வாசிக்கும் முதல் கதை இதுவே!

கதைக்களம் பற்றியே தனியாக பேச முடியும் மணிக்கணக்காக, அப்படியோர் வித்தியாசமான நகர்வு மற்றும் கரு!

கதாபாத்திரங்கள் எல்லாம் சிறப்பு - தாசி வம்சம், பாபா, சாமிநாதன் - சங்கரன், நரசிம்ம பாரதி, என எல்லாரும் அற்புதமான உருவாக்கம்.

அனைத்தியும் விட முக்கிய கதாநாயகன் - ருத்ரவீணை எனும் கதைக் கரு! கொஞ்சம் கூட தோய்வே இல்லாத கதை நகர்வு... அன்று, இன்று என்று ஒவ்வொரு அத்தியாயமும் நகரும் விதம் பாராட்டக் கூடியது!

முதல் பாகம் முற்றியது என்றாலும் நிறைய வினாக்கள் தான் நெஞ்சில்!

Rudraveenai was filled with so much mystery and that feeling was fanned out throughout most parts of the book. The characters had so much potential but the climax was a bit underwhelming. It felt so rushed but I did enjoy the book neverthelesss.
