Katie, a slow infiltrating spy, excels at remaining hidden. From the way she dresses to the words she uses, she has cultivated a forgettable identity that has been the backbone of her mission. What she wasn't prepared for was a man whose mind was now fixated on her.
Katie is backed into a corner by the counter espionage expert, but not for the reasons she believes. She is apprehensive to lower her guard to a man whose very mission would mean killing her.
Good (But...) I know it's a short story. I know that the author wanted to make everything happen in a short amount of time with the perfect ending. It is indeed a good story, but because everything happened so fast I had a hard time believing in it. Both characters are great, the story has everything to be perfect. Danger, steaming moments. But it deserved more words, you know.
Great novella about a forbidden love between a heroine who is a deep undercover American spy planted in Russia and an alpha Russian counter-espionage officer hero. The hero works for the Russian Federal Security Sevice (FSB), which is the main successor of the KGB.
The smut was very hot and I liked how the H was so alpha, very protective, obsessed, and besotted.
