Okay, I'll make this short.
I didn't like this. At about 5%, I knew I made a big mistake one-clicking this book. I knew...I had a feeling that despite the intriguing synopsis that I wouldn't like it. I really need to effing listen to my gut instincts!
The heroine was TSTL. Literally, TOO STUPID. She made mistakes that I couldn't fathom. Being with one guy, falling for the next guy although she barely got over the first. It was like reading a train wreck. If she wasn't moping about her life, she was crying, or yelling or spreading her legs--sorry, excuse the crassness. I didn't feel bad for her for one second. Her Insta-love with Leo was completely contrived. They were both ridiculous. Add in the annoying banter, label dropping, lack of depth and dimension, overuse of exclamations...and I was done.
The whole 'secret' thing Leo couldn't tell her? Yeah, I've heard of something similar to that, it's called . By 35% I started skimming because I really didn't want to DNF a book I paid $5 and change for. By 60% I was rolling my eyes so far to the back of my head I saw stars. By 70% I scrolled to the end and proclaimed, hallelujah!

Pointe of Breaking by Amy Daws and Sarah J Pepper
4 stars!!
This was one of those books that I 1clicked because of the cover, for some reason I seem really drawn to ballet dancers at the moment. This book starts with a bang with a kick ass prologue that lets you in on the emotional journey you are about to begin. This prologue got to me and only salivated those taste buds for the rest of the book.
Adeline had worked hard to get where she was today, she didn’t come from money, she had earned everything she had achieved and the culmination of that was just about to take place…she was just about to step out on stage as the star of the Joffrey School of Ballet, all the stars are aligning until her ex-fiancé shows up. Adeline had been strong since they split trying to forget what had happened with Blake. Adeline was his dirty little secret; he was rich and had kept her a secret for fear of family repercussions. He chose his family over her and it still hurt. He still manages to affect her though and nearly destroys her performance and has most likely destroyed her career. She drowns her sorrows in a bar and lucky enough there is a knight in shining armour to come and rescue her.
Leo hates the ballet, yet once again he finds himself dragged along to another show with his friends. The ballet had always played a huge part in his family’s life as his mother supports a scholarship with the Joffrey Ballet School and had always taken him along to performances as he was growing up. He tries to feign interest and it was just another dull night until his eyes meet that of the star ballerina. There is something that just draws her to him, it doesn’t happen often and he could not help but be intrigued with the dishevelled ballerina that had just danced her heart out. When he sees her leaving at the end of the night in a mess, he cannot help but follow her.
Leo and Adeline do not have it easy. Being from total opposite back grounds there was always going to be friction, especially when families are extremely meddling and incredibly vindictive. What also doesn’t help is when her ex sees her new relationship in the papers, he is still of the opinion that if he can’t have her no-one else can, even if he was the one that ended it in the first place. Are these two doomed before they have even begun?
This is one emotional roller coaster and one that reduced me to tears. I have to applaud the authors on the character connection and the emotion that they poured into this story. I know I am a soft sap, I hold my hands up but I found myself crying, yes crying, while reading about a ballet dance. The vivid imagery and the heart and soul poured onto the page was written perfectly and beautifully allowing me to be in Adeline’s shoes and into her soul.
This was one of those books that I couldn’t put down; I inhaled this book and was totally captivated by their story. So why not 5 stars? There was one part of this book that didn’t feel right to me, it was okay and I understood but for me personally it just didn’t sit right. This is personal preference and this is just my opinion but apart from that I loved this book, totally and utterly.
I can’t wait to read more from these authors. I love emotional reads, I crave them and if this is anything to go by this definitely won’t be my last book of theirs.

Received an advanced copy for the blog Fallen for Books
Have you ever had a book that makes you feel EVERYTHING?! And not just little feelings, but the extreme highs and lows? Yeah, this was that book for me. This is a rip your heart out, brush it off, and rip it out again story. But it's also a story of never giving up, love, and finding your way through life.
I can't even put into words how amazing this book is. I don't get book hangovers. Until this one.
This is a story of Adeline and Leo. Adeline has been busting her butt to become a prima ballerina, but she hasn't had it easy. She comes from humble beginnings and nothing is handed to her. She doesn't care what people think, and she dances to her own beat.
Leo is a wealthy, entitled, frat guy. He knows his place in the upper society, but has become restless with his life.
Then one night, Leo gets dragged to the ballet,and his whole world is turned upside down.
Can two people from such different backgrounds defy all odds and actually be together? Or will secrets, family, careers, jealousy, and social standing tear them apart?
I knew this book was going to be good even before I started reading it. I love both Amy's and Sarah's other books. But the amount of emotions this book brought out in me simply blew me away. This is not your typical girl meets guy book. This book gets down to the nitty gritty of life. There is so much detail in the book, it left me speechless. You never have to guess how someone is feeling, the writing takes you there. You can feel the emotion Adeline is feeling when she dances, because the writing makes you see her dance. The chemistry between Adeline and Leo literately leaps off the pages. It's the perfect balance of hot, sexy, steamy, heart-breaking, laugh out loud, and anything else you could possibly want in a book.
If you only read a couple of books this year, make sure you read this. This is the best book I've read all year long.

Adeline doesn't come from money and has had to work hard for everything she has. She was dumped by her rich fiance, Blake, who kept her hidden from his friends and family. A year later, he shows up at the ballet backstage right before she is set to preform. He seduces her, she hates him but part of her still loves him and after he pushes her enough, she thinks maybe they can work things out, that must be why he is saying he misses her and reminds her how good they were together. She can't fight her feelings for him and next thing she knows, they're having sex against the door. After, when she's ready to discuss what this means for them, Blake puts his wedding ring back on, the ring that Adeline knew nothing about. Disgusted with herself for sleeping with a married man and letting him hurt her once again, she is almost late to her own performance. Determined to live her dream after how hard she fought to get there, she channels all her anger, fear and determination as she steps on stage to perform. While she dances, her eyes connect with a handsome man in the audience and she can't turn away.

I really enjoyed this story. Leo and Adeline had so many challenges from the moment they meet. Adeline is the focused, determined girl who has struggled and worked hard to get where she's at. A few mistakes and everything could be taken away from her. Leo is nothing like I was expecting when this book first started but I really loved his character. This book was an emotional roller-coaster full of angst, heart break, anger, romance, a little suspense, lot's of sexy times and a little bit of humor. This is fast paced and told in dual POV. This was beautifully written and it was so easy to feel a connection to these characters, I really became invested in their story. I liked the side characters a lot as well and would love to see some of them get their stories told. I really loved this story and can't wait to read more by these authors.

Let me just start by saying that I have been so incredibly excited to read this book. Not only is this work written by two of the coolest authors with some of the most original and relatable works I have had the pleasure of reading, but the subject matter is about a ballerina and a really hot guy. I don’t know about you, but I still kind of harbor the want to be a ballerina and I may or may not sometimes attempt some ballet type moves when no one is around. And hot guy because… I also like those. All of these things put together were what I imagined to be a slam-dunk winner for me.
The first chapter pulled me right into the story with no problem. I went from the sweltering heat of Florida to the backstage area of a performance hall in NYC surrounded by sugar and spice and everything nice, also known as ballerinas. However that lasted all of thirty seconds when Blake, Adeline’s ex shows up. I feel like this scene was supposed to make me uncomfortable to say the least, or at least I hope it was because that is exactly what happened. I found the scenario to be almost cringe-worthy, and I am still not entirely sure if that is how I was supposed to feel. The writing was excellent in this section, so I am almost certain that this was the goal, but for me as a reader it set me on edge and made me a touch skeptical as to where the rest of the book was going.
The plot was very interesting and I enjoyed the journey that each of the characters made. Their background was very well developed and this clearly informed their choices. The construction of each character, whether main or supporting was found solid, and this is something that always makes for an incredible story. I also very much enjoyed the journey that these characters took together. I have always been partial to any stories that feature the performance world, especially the theatrical arts as this is my personal background. I thought that the portrayal of this lifestyle and career choice was very well researched and realistic which is not always the case in books of this genre. I very much appreciated the attention to detail within each aspect of story-telling. Detail was paid to every aspect of the plot, not simply the construction of the characters.
The only downfall of this book was the editing. There were very simple mistakes made throughout that made me sad. This work has the potential to be one of the greats for this genre, but having to make corrections throughout on my own in order to understand the story was distracting to say the least. If this were to be corrected, the story and the work as a whole would be stellar.
Overall, I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed the story and it was an easy read, but the flow of the words was severely disrupted by the editorial structure. I adore all of the works of Daws and Pepper and was thrilled to see this collaboration come to fruition. I only hope to see more work by their collective hand to come, as I think they fill a void in the literary world that only they can fill.

I really had not known what to expect when I started Pointe of Breaking because I had not read books by either Amy or Sarah (please forgive me!). But that is definitely going to change.
Pointe of Breaking was beautifully and seamless written. The plot was just dead-on right for this book and it flowed at the perfect pace. Everything played out with a continuous flow and held your attention.
“Fighting for love, losing love, finding love…that’s what helps the weak survive. That’s what helps the weak find strength.”
Adeline may come across as weak but she is quite the strong and courageous young woman. She never once lets anything make her give up and just quit altogether. Her vivacious attitude is what won me over.
Leo, Leo, Leo. At his young age, he’s probably seen more disturbing things within his high society than I ever care to in my whole life. But it’s because of what he’s seen, that he wants to be nothing like them. He knows that there is more to life than money, social status and private clubs.
Adeline and Leo breath life into one another like never before. But they are in completely different worlds. She is working class and he is high society. But they both defy what is deemed by all as unacceptable. However, there are others who don’t want them to be together and stop at nothing to prevent that from happening.
“Numbness was a blessing compared to the hell of a tortured heart.”
As I said before, you totally forget that this book is written by two people. However, these characters do not blend at all. They all hold their own and are very distinct. I love their different characteristics and how each of them pull different emotions from me.
Amy and Sarah wove together the perfect story. The dance sequences in this book – they are just magnificent. They are written so unbelievably well that you feel what they are expressing through their moves. When an author is able to make me feel something that normally needs to be seen with my own eyes – that right there says EVERYTHING about their talent.
Pointe of Breaking has it all – heat, angst, love, jealousy, hatred – so much more. The authors did a fantastic job of putting you there in the scene and feeling everything these characters went through. I could easily visualize what was going on and that just made the book more real to me.

Pointe of Breaking has it all – heat, angst, love, jealousy, hatred – so much more. The authors did a fantastic job of putting you there in the scene and feeling everything these characters went through. I could easily visualize what was going on and that just made the book more real to me.

This story came out of left field for me. I had no clue this was even being released and when I read the blurb I knew that I had to read it. I was so not disappointed.
Adeline Parker was about to go on stage and live her dream of being the star in a Joffrey School of Ballet show. She has worked her whole life for this moment right now, nothing could make this day dark, nothing except her ex-fiancé Blake showing up right before she is suppose to go on stage.
When Blake walked away from her a year ago, it left her gutted and hollow. She didn’t know what or why he ended it. He was here today gone tomorrow. But slowly ever so slowly she dusted herself off and prevailed.
Leo Richards hated the ballet. Hated is actually a soft word for what he really felt. Dragged to go and see the ballet with his ex-friends with benefits, he was not expecting to look up into the eyes of an angel.
A heaviness settle on my chest as I zeroed in on her eyes. They stood out even in her mess of brown waves and dark stage makeup. The clear blue color pierced right through me. They were resolute and narrowed with a fierce intensity, and portraying every damn emotion in the book of love.
His eyes seek hers, and even though she cant’t see him she can feel him even if she doesn’t know who he is.
When the last curtain falls she goes out to celebrate, okay celebrate is a big word, since she wants to go out and drowns her sorrows. Sorrow for falling for Blake’s lies again, sorrow for probably blowing her chance at the big stage, sorrow for what might have been.
What she didn’t see coming is Leo in all his glory.
So, I looked back at him just as quickly as I’d glance away. His dark copper-colored hair fell arbitrarily over his forehead in a way that was too perfect to be coincidental.
What she doesn’t know is that Leo is known to the NYC tabloids. He is the golden child, pushing her into the limelight she didn’t want.
When her ex spots her in the tabloids he will stop at nothing to make sure she is taken down. He wants to make sure if he can’t have her no one will.
When push comes to shove will Leo be able to stand up to all the people in his life and fight for her and his love or will secrets be their breaking point?

I have read books by Amy Daws and books by Sarah Pepper before, but this is the first collaboration of these two. I wasn't sure if they could pull it off as their writing styles tend to differentiate a little bit. Sarah definitely has a more fantastical element to her writing and Amy is 100% romance. I must say that these two have pulled this endeavor off flawlessly.
I never felt like I was reading 2 different books or stories. Even though the story is told from Adaline's perspective in one chapter and Leo's in another, it never felt disjointed or just thrown together. Each of the main characters has a definitive voice but I couldn't tell who wrote what portion. You can tell that they put a lot of thought and love into this collaboration as it shows in the story.
The story of Adaline and Leo is complicated as are both of the characters. I was blown away by the fact that they have real, human emotions and reactions to things. I never once said to myself "No one would do that!" or "No one would say that!" The characters behaved exactly as you would expect them too.
My heart broke for Adaline and the situations she kept finding herself in. I have been in some of those same situations where it seems like you have no other choice but to pick the lesser of two evils. Leo is kind of in the same boat as he has to try to be himself and not let the world of corporate greed overtake him. He has plenty of secrets and isn't ready to deal with them, but Adaline might be able to help in that aspect as she is strong and generally doesn't take crap from anyone.
This is fantastic read and a great love story. There were some steamy bits but nothing too racy or raunchy for me. I laughed and swooned and got mad during the journey, which to me makes for a great read. I will definitely read another collaboration between these two. It would be nice to see Amy take on a little of the fantasy side in their next endeavor and stop playing it so safe!

Overall Opinion: This was an interesting read with a unique (at least to me) premise. I like the mystery and the drama that goes on, but the romance became kind of a side story for me because of it. They were a cute couple, but we definitely had some "instalove" going on here...another "just ok" book for me.
Storyline: This is Adaline and Leo's story. Leo is dragged to the ballet by his on again off again friend with benefits, Sasha, even though he despises it. Meanwhile, Adaline is being seduced and deceived by her ex-fiancé, Blake, into having sex backstage. Before the Blake leaves her all disheveled, he pulls out his wedding ring and lets her know that he is now married (to Sasha's sister). Needless to say, Adaline is a mess (physically with her costume and emotionally) but needs to get onstage. When she starts her dance she finds Leo in the audience and dances her most passionate dance for him. The pair form an instant connection through her dance. After the show, Leo follows her to a pub down the street. She is upset because her director chewed her out for missing her cue and not being in proper costume so her spot/scholarship at the prestigious dance school is on the line. They meet and find out (much to their displeasure) that they are connected by association to Blake. Drama, drama, and more drama ensues throughout the story...they have to deal with paparazzi (Leo is a wealthy socialite), ex-friends-with-benefits, jealousy over dance partners, psychopathic ex-fiancées, secret society arranged marriages and other politics, and upset snotty mothers...but they find their HFN.
POV:This was alternating between Adaline and Leo's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. It was slow at some points and fast in others. It was a case of "instalove" for sure because they were both feeling it around the 35ish% mark, but the story had so much else going on that we were able to focus on that...so maybe that's why they got the development of the feelings part out of the way..?

This book really floored me. I'm not sure what I was expecting but what I got was just.....wow!
Pointe of Breaking was definitely one of the best collaborations I have read and these two authors did a fantastic job of making this story flow seamlessly!
Adeline Parker is a ballerina from the wrong side of the tracks and it seems like life just won't give the girl a break. Having landed a full ride scholarship to one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the country she seems to be riding high until she meets....HIM! (Just like a man to ruin a girl's dreams right...no I'm not bitter just saying lol)
Leo Richards is the quintessential rich boy (or so you think). He's what they call a Legacy and he has certain expectations to live up to but no one asked him if this was what HE wanted. He's known he wasn't like everyone else in his circle for a while but as soon as SHE stepped onto the stage he KNEW he didn't care what they wanted.
Pointe of Breaking is a journey into the lives of these two polar opposites and finding exactly what it takes to get them to the Pointe of Breaking!!
Pointe of Breaking is an amazing love story on a curvy emotional rollercoaster ride that you will not want to get off of!! Highly recommend!

Adeline did everything she had to, to succeed and to be where she is today and, because of that, she's never taken what her family has done for her for granted. She thought she had it all; a career, great friends, and a wonderful fiancée yet, little did she know, her life was about to change drastically.
Leo has always gone along with the way his life was planned out for him, never questioning it until he sees the ballerina at the fucking ballet he didn't want to be at in the first place. Now that he's seen her the question becomes, how can he get her to really see the real him?
I thought this was a love story of a ballerina and a cocky playboy but boy, was I wrong!! There was love, hate, passion, secrets, lies and it felt as if my emotions were on a roller coaster with no end in sight. I must give props because, for a while, there I didn't know how in the world this story was going to end and that scared the mess out of me.
Loved this book! Leo and Adeline and Ivan were lovable, supportive and hilariously funny!! Hope we get more from these authors!!! ~ Kara, 4.5 stars

What a crazy ride writing this book was. When Sarah J. Pepper approached me about doing a collaboration, I was skeptical. But after releasing it and hearing the amazing feedback and being able to share all those warm and fuzzies with a friend...it is now the best idea she's ever had!
Similar to our heroine and hero in Pointe of Breaking, writing this book involved a ton of ups and downs. But Sarah & I both fought for this story, just like our lovelies fight for love in this book.

I have read Amy Daws before, but I have not had the pleasure of reading Sarah J Pepper's work before, so I wasn't sure what to expect with Pointe of Breaking.
I was not sure what to expect when it came to this book. but the synopsis intrigued me, and the fact it was an Amy Daws book was enough to make me read it!
And what a wonderful book it is!
Told in dual POV's, Pointe of Breaking had me running the full gamut of the emotions. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, I felt them all.
Adeline and Leo's relationship is never going to be easy. Adeline is feeling broken from the man she loved, and thought loved her. After a run in with the ex, she meets Leo in less than auspicious circumstances.
Leo is intrigued by the beautiful ballerina, and when their lives intersect, you can instantly feel the pull and the attraction between them.
But with what has happened, Adeline can't let herself feel, can't let herself fall - or can she? I mean, Leo is just like her ex Blake - isn't he?
Blake is a douche, going around like his sh!t don't stink and that he can do whatever he wants and everyone will bow down to him. Gah, I really, really hated him! I was waiting with bated breath for him to get his come uppance! But I am not going to tell if he does.
There were so many feels in Pointe of Breaking. It was not your average boy-meets-girl, star-crossed lovers romance. The emotion jumps off the pages, you can feel every emotion as our lovelies are feeling them.
Ms Daws and Ms Pepper draw you right into the story, and I for one did not want to leave.
So, did Adeline and Leo get their HEA? For that you are going to have to read for yourself.

Thank you to the authors, Amy Daws and Sarah J. Pepper, for gifting me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
So there are things that I loved about this book and there are things are just a bit questionable. Let's get all the ickiness out of the way shall we?
It was pretty much insta-love between Leo and Adeline although it isn't as bad as it could be because it starts out as just lust (they are college students after all) and develops into 'love'. Which was the other thing I found a little shifty. At the end of the book, they say they love eachother but you don't really get to see many meaningful conversations except for two early onish in the book.
One thing I will say about this book (that isn't good or bad, mind you) is that it's very, very intense. What do I mean by that? Well there's a bunch of swearing and sex scenes (or foreplay) and everything is just very fast and furious (not connected to the movie at all!). Just be aware of that going in. Because of all of the explicitness, I'd say an age rating of mature for sure. This isn't a light and fluffy love story, it's like a teddy bear that you go to hug and realize there are random glass shards sticking out of it.
I really liked the Gold element (I won't explain because I know we all hate spoilers!). It added something to the story where it otherwise would have seemed a little empty. I also really liked the alternating POV's. The authors did such a great job distinguishing the two voices and it really helped the story.
Now for the characters... I did like how we got to see how Adeline poured herself into her dancing and seeing everyone's personalities but sometimes Leo and Adeline frustrated me to no end. In the middle when they have their weird thing going on, I couldn't believe how stubborn they both were and what an idiot Leo was. I wanted to smack some sense into that boy! He couldn't get anything through his thick skull!
But anyway.
The Final Verdict:
I didn't really like Leo's character that much at all although I did like the alternating POV's. The Gold was a nice touch. This is a really intense book and an intense love story so you really have to keep that in mind while you read!

I received the book Pointe of Breaking by Amy Daws and Sarah J Pepper in exchange for an honest review. Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved this book. From the beginning I was sucked into the story. I really didn't want to stop reading it. This is the story of Adeline a ballerina living in New York. She is from Chicago and it has been her dream to be a prima ballerina. She has a scholarship through the Joffery School of Dance and is trying to make it in the dancing world. The only way she can go to the school is due to her scholarship. She really has to work hard for everything she has. The night of her solo she runs into Blake her ex fiancé who Broke her heart. He is a real jerk who dumped her and chose his family over her. He has this mentality that even though he can't have her no one else should and she is his. She ends up late to her performance and out of costume. She dances the most controversial and awesome dance of her life. All the while locking eyes with a man she has never met in the audience. His name is Leo. He is a rich, entitled, frat boy. And he HATES the ballet. Loathes it even. He basically got dragged to it by an ex when her date cancels. He is totally enamored by Adeline and has to know more about her. Leo and Adeline run into each other at a bar where they meet for The first time. Paparazzi take pictures and all heck breaks loose! Adeline loses her scholarship and begins at a new dance company. Everything she has worked for Is depending on how this goes. Meanwhile there are those that don't want Leo and Adeline together so there are threats and sabotaging. Will Leo and Adeline be able to get past everything? Lots of drama
And entertainment. Anyway I really enjoyed reading this book and definitely plan to seek out other books. I haven't read any books by either of the authors and I wasn't sure what to Expect but I was pretty much blown away. It was an emotional roller coaster ride that leaves you wanting more!

So I was of course really excited when I heard she was releasing a collab with another author. I haven't had the pleasure to read anything else by Sarah J. Pepper but after reading this one by her I am really excited to try one of her solo works!
I'm naturally nervous when it comes to collabs especially when one of the authors is unfamiliar. Amy writes such amazing romances and steamy context and I didn't want to worry about it possible being gone or changed in anyway seeing as that's why I love her books. However, I had absolutely nothing to worry about Sarah J. Pepper added an extra layer of context, I didn't realize I was missing; suspense.
Pointe of Breaking was highly anticipated by me as soon as I heard that it even existed and I was not disappointed the beginning of this book was just amazing! I was not expecting it and I was honestly blown away that it started this way. I knew right away I was going to be going through an emotional journey. And I was so right, I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I picked this one up!
I felt so many emotions as I was reading this book. All the highs and all the lows. There was so many twists and turns that I wasn't expecting and I was so happy with them all and how the story progressed.
Adeline and Leo were both characters I really liked and enjoyed watching there characters develop. The Dual POV was such a great idea the story wouldn't of had sch a strong impact if we only saw one side of the story.
The only downside to this story is the fact that its over. I loved Leo and Adeline and I would love to read more about them and their relationship.

There were some word choices that I would not have made, but that is a minor point and did not affect my enjoyment of the story. I very much enjoyed this collaboration and hope to see more by them in the future.

*Potential spoilers*
Maybe it was me, but too much drama, back and forth for a relationship that lasted 10 days before the issues started. I mean I know initial attraction can be intense, but its a bit of a stretch for me to believe that a seasoned professional dancer could no longer dance unless she thought about a man she met 2 weeks ago. The whole time I was asking "what were you using the previous 22 years?" Seriously, she needed a brain....my issues with this story started as early as when they met! Who goes out on your own, gets wasted to the point where you pass out (only to realize you have no money to pay your tab) and then trusts a random man to get you home safely. That to me is just an episode of Law and Order SVU waiting to happen. I know she was reeling from the previous events of the night, but that doesn't excuse her using basic common sense. And it was just downhill after that...I read the book thinking "This idiot" the whole time in relation to the heroine. She was in dire need of a friend because Ivan was not cutting it.
I guess the joke is on me though because I bought and am still reading the book (at 65% now but I was thinking about it and needed to vent). I wish we could still return books on Amazon, because this would be an instant return for me.

**JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**
I have never read a story by these two authors but after seeing the blurb I could not wait to get this baby in my hands. The blurb did not do this story justice because what I got from story is beyond what I imagined. The authors did a beautiful job in writing Point of Breaking. So much so that I felt every emotion that was expressed by the two main characters as well as the side characters. Pointe of Breaking is told in dual POV’s and you get to see the feelings, emotions and turmoil the characters will go through. This is a story that one must not rush through, but savor every page, and absorb the message these authors are sending, because yes it is a love story but there is so much more they are saying.
Adeline Parker’s character is one I am sure a lot of readers will relate too. She does not come from money and has had to work for everything. A year ago, she and her ex-fiancé had broken up, ok let me rephrase that HE BROKE up with her. Blake comes from a family with money. While he dates Adeline he kept their relationship a secret from everyone, but when pushed came to shove he left and broke Adeline. So on the night of her dream job, the night she was to perform on stage for the Joffrey School of Ballet show, Blake walks back into her life. Adeline knows he is wrong for her, but there is something that keeps letting him back in. After she gives into Blake, she left again shattered, betrayed and upset with herself. This is where the story takes off for me. Through her painful emotions Adeline performs the ballet show of her life, and while looking into the audience she lays her eyes on a gorgeous man.
Leo Richards, has always hated ballet, but this one night he developed a love for ballet, well a lust for the girl dancing. Although he was forced to go with his ex-girlfriend (TROLL) and his frat brother Blake and his wife all his focus is on the petite and gorgeous lady dancing her butt off.
I really enjoy this story. There was such a connection and attraction between Adeline and Leo that burned through my kindle pages. There are issues that the two will face. Leo is nothing at all what I expected. He pursued Adeline with everything he had, but he also had insecurities and kept things from her. Even though Leo was confused he knew he wanted to protect, have her near and keep her safe.
Adeline’s character to me was strong and determined. Having come from a world where nothing was just given to her she was focused on making her dream of dancing a reality. Having her heart broken by Blake, a man that lives in the same world as Leo, she does not fully trust Leo. Although Leo is completely opposite of Blake some warning flags do go off. But once they both let their guard down and open their hearts it’s like a come to JESUS MOMENT. But once their relationship hits the tabloids, old and new enemies are determined to take it all away.
This was a powerful and emotional read for me. The treatment Adeline endured broke my heart and angered me – no one should be treated as less than worthy because they do not come from money. I loved the relationship between Leo and Adeline. When they are together it is natural, strong and powerful. Can Leo and Adeline’s two very different worlds unite? Can Leo be the man he needs to be for Adeline? Can Adeline trust Leo with her heart?

Right. Well, I need to be upfront about a bit. I read this book as a Beta reader for DaPep. I was, and have always been, told to be as strict and harsh as possible, without breaking their hearts. So, I went in ready wreak havoc on their new read. One problem, it was perfection.
Seriously, I could stop there, with my review, as that explains enough, but I’d like to tell you why it was so perfect.
To begin with, I was drawn into Adeline’s life. From the first pages, you see that she has had and continues to have a stressful and chaotic work and personal life. As it all comes crashing down, with her work and personal lives colliding in a way she never thought possible, she approaches the stage out her mind…and costume. What she does and shows in that show, has the possibility to make or break her. She flies off, as soon as the show is over, heading to the nearest pub, assuming her career is over, and it very well might be, and once again personal and work collide, but you’ll have to read to see how.
The moment that DaPep opened up Adeline’s story, giving you an understanding of her personality, both hardworking and determined, as well as proud and willing to stand her ground. I instantly bonded with her character. I have always had a similar personality and similar issues with parts of my life colliding and exploding. She is a brilliantly written character and as she evolves in the story she becomes more and more lovely.
Her counterpart, Leo, is excellent. His background is one that often leads to judgement and stereotyping, something which Adeline hates about society…but possibly does herself. However, he may not be what he appears. We start to see inside his life and his mind, getting to know the true Leo, and well, book bf anyone?? I’ll take him for sure. Just as with Adeline, he grows throughout the books and becomes more of the man he wants to be, even taking on a major challenge in his life, to try and succeed in a way he deems best. I absolutely adore him. He is so well rounded and very real.
The pace and detail of the story were absolutely brill. The pace went between and angsty, faster pace to a slower, loving pace. I loved both. During the angsty, emotional points we felt the emotions of life. DaPep help back nothing, as we felt all ranges of emotion wash over us. We were taken through real events, that were easy to relate to and entirely believable. At times, whilst reading, I was giggling and laughing, while other times I was shedding tears. I must say, this book had me choked up more than any I have ever read before. However, we are then balanced by laughter, joy and overwhelming love that really is heartwarming.
Honestly, this is one of the best books I have ever read and definitely the best romance book I have ever read. It was raw. It was real. The pages were written beautifully, with the emotions, love and challenges all being very real. I found it exceptionally easy to get hooked on this book, as the brilliant writing truly does make it addicting. I more than highly recommend this book. If you are a romance lover, you MUST read this book, and even if you aren’t you really need to as well. This is a book not to miss out on! Loved every single word.

This story is beautiful! Amy Daws & Sarah J Pepper did a wonderful collaboration for Pointe of Breaking because it is absolutely heartfelt, stunning and holds emotional depth. This story begins with heartbreak, Adeline is a beautiful and talented ballerina who just can’t seem to wash away all of her tears for her ex. As he comes back into the picture with false meaning and pent up lies, she wants to believe him again…she wants to believe that his keeping her a secret from everyone is in the past. Upon returning to her big performance on stage with disheveled hair and different clothing, she knows that the rage building inside of her from seeing her ex with his new wife, out in the audience, right after their run in…will have everything to do with whether she will make it or not. Adeline is a fighter though and she is strong. Once her performance unfolds, right there in front of thousands, she sees one person who could change her life forever…but would she be able to take that leap of faith again? His name…Leo.
My favorite character in this wonderful story is Ivan. Adeline is strong and has built her life up from nothing…but Ivan has always been her one reason to strive for more…for the best. He is a loving friend and his talent is equivalent to hers on the stage. They make the perfect team and everyone loves their performances…stunning performances that make their career soar. I would really love to read more about Ivan’s chance at finding love. If the authors have a chance to work together again, this would be my ideal read for a future collaboration. Adeline’s anger and rash decisions are all too familiar with some of my own; therefore, I could relate to her on a personal level. Being able to do so, I really enjoyed reading about her battles and ability to live through them to find a better life.
In my opinion, the targeted audience would be women; however, the book is cast with duel point of views. This story came out of left field for me. I had no clue this was even being released and when I read the blurb I knew that I had to read it. I was so not disappointed.
Adeline Parker was about to go on stage and live her dream of being the star in a Joffrey School of Ballet show. She has worked her whole life for this moment right now, nothing could make this day dark, nothing except her ex-fiancé Blake showing up right before she is suppose to go on stage.
When Blake walked away from her a year ago, it left her gutted and hollow. She didn’t know what or why he ended it. He was here today gone tomorrow. But slowly ever so slowly she dusted herself off and prevailed.
Leo Richards hated the ballet. Hated is actually a soft word for what he really felt. Dragged to go and see the ballet with his ex-friends with benefits, he was not expecting to look up into the eyes of an angel.
A heaviness settle on my chest as I zeroed in on her eyes. They stood out even in her mess of brown waves and dark stage makeup. The clear blue color pierced right through me. They were resolute and narrowed with a fierce intensity, and portraying every damn emotion in the book of love.
His eyes seek hers, and even though she cant’t see him she can feel him even if she doesn’t know who he is.
When the last curtain falls she goes out to celebrate, okay celebrate is a big word, since she wants to go out and drowns her sorrows. Sorrow for falling for Blake’s lies again, sorrow for probably blowing her chance at the big stage, sorrow for what might have been.
What she didn’t see coming is Leo in all his glory.
So, I looked back at him just as quickly as I’d glance away. His dark copper-colored hair fell arbitrarily over his forehead in a way that was too perfect to be coincidental.
What she doesn’t know is that Leo is known to the NYC tabloids. He is the golden child, pushing her into the limelight she didn’t want.
When her ex spots her in the tabloids he will stop at nothing to make sure she is taken down. He wants to make sure if he can’t have her no one will.
When push comes to shove will Leo be able to stand up to all the people in his life and fight for her and his love or will secrets be their breaking point?

My Review:
I almost passed this book over when I first glanced at it and saw it was yet another ballet book… sigh… then I noticed the name of one of my favorite authors - Amy Daws – yay! Yet I still had a moment of hesitation as my finger floated above the button. I remember my inner debate and waffling, but I totally adore Amy Daws – she is clever, talented, and wicked funny. I boldly clicked through and took the chance. Since starting the book I have run the gamut of emotions. I frowned, I panted, I giggled, and then I ground my teeth and began to curse Amy Daws. I uttered every obscene word I knew and made up a few addition ones! Waa… she broke my heart. Then she tortured me with pages and pages and mountains of angst from both main characters (not a big fan of that), then she partially put me back together, then she teased me, then finally – oh happy day – the sun has returned, the birds are singing, and she has made me smile and chair dance once more. I am exhausted, but I may forgive her as… I do love Amy Daws. But be warned - she is a gifted she devil!

My Review:
I almost passed this book over when I first glanced at it and saw it was yet another ballet book… sigh… then I noticed the name of one of my favorite authors - Amy Daws – yay! Yet I still had a moment of hesitation as my finger floated above the button. I remember my inner debate and waffling, but I totally adore Amy Daws – she is clever, talented, and wicked funny. I boldly clicked through and took the chance. Since starting the book I have run the gamut of emotions. I frowned, I panted, I giggled, and then I ground my teeth and began to curse Amy Daws. I uttered every obscene word I knew and made up a few addition ones! Waa… she broke my heart. Then she tortured me with pages and pages and mountains of angst from both main characters (not a big fan of that), then she partially put me back together, then she teased me, then finally – oh happy day – the sun has returned, the birds are singing, and she has made me smile and chair dance once more. I am exhausted, but I may forgive her as… I do love Amy Daws. But be warned - she is a gifted she devil!

After reading the first chapter I had to put my kindle down and ask myself “Did that really just happen?" Yes, Yes it did. I love when a book has the power to blow your mind in only the first chapter. This book was filled with ever emotion known to man and it was a hell of a roller-coaster ride. Both Sarah and Amy did an incredible job bringing this story to life. The characters are well developed and have personalities that make them stand apart from most books out there. Leo is strong yet he wants his fathers approval. Living the rich life has it's ups and down and Leo breaks through the typical stereo type to prove that love is the most important thing in life not power. You need to be able to risk it all for the reward. Screw what is expected from you, you need to make your own choices in life. If you want the sexy ballerina in the fishnets go for it she might just be the best thing that ever happens to you. Adeline is a ballerina that breaks the mold with her strong personality and proves that ballet can be deeper then a girl prancing around in a pink tutu. Just as her life seems to be going in a good direction a man comes in a smashes it to pieces. She decides she need to focus on her dancing no more men. Then she meets Leo and her world is thrown into utter chaos. Dancing is her dream and from one slip up she just might lose it all. As their relationship starts to get serious secrets and lies come to head and Adeline is again left with a broken heart. Leo needs to prove to her that their love is worth fighting for by giving up on his privileged life to finally be the man she deserves. I recommend this book to everyone definitely a must read.

First thing you need to know--this book is so worth the read! I was really intrigued to see what a collaboration would be like between Amy Daws & Sarah J Pepper. I’ve read books from both authors & their writing styles and even genres and pretty different. This was like a match made in heaven!! I got all the suspense & build up I love in Sarah’s book & all the romance & steam I love in Amy’s books together in one hot little package. I truly feel like this was the best work I have read by either author. I felt the passion between Leo & Adeline right from the get go. My heart broke for Adeline so many times throughout this book but every time I wanted to cry for her Leo made it all better. It’s so hard for me to give a review & not give a spoiler so I’m doing my best. I adored this book & the characters. I am not huge into dancing & was a little skeptical about being bored throughout dance scenes but I was really impressed how well they could depict a routine & make me feel like I was right there in the audience feeling every emotion along with Adeline & Leo. My only wish is that I got more of a glimpse into their future at the end. I just want a sneak peek 5-10 years down the road for these two. To sum it up, this book is so worth the read. If you love Amy or Sarah’s books you will not be disappointed. This is seriously by far the best I have read for either author & it’s clear collaborating on this book brought out the best in both authors. #dapepfan

Wow what an opening!!! We are immediately thrust into the world of ballet, lust and humiliation!!
Poor Adeline has been through the ringer with our villain of the piece Blake ( and what a great villain he is!!!
Enter the mysterious, gorgeous stranger watching Addy dance. The gorgeous Leo (Leonardo Richards) is there under duress. He doesn't even like the ballet and certainly not his date Sacha!!! What is he doing there??? How does he know Blake??? Does he know Addy???
He witnesses Addy at her absolute best on the stage and then afterwards when she has a spectacular melt down!!! Leo steps in and saves our feisty heroine.... Or does he??? They are both in for a whole heap of angst and trouble when the tabloids report on their meeting.
A new love for life and our story delpths into lust, jealousy, secret societies and peer pressure.
This book was a complete breath of fresh air!!!
I loved everything about it. ballet, lust, bad boys, rich spoiled brats who get their comeuppance!! What was not to like? Addy and her amazing dance partner reach all time lows and highs and then theirs Addy's tangled love life!!! Poor girl, she has a really hard time trusting after the dreadful Blake desposes of her.
A complete must read, for me, what's not to like??? ballet, bad boys, rich kids etc etc.
This ticked all my boxes, best read this year for me.

I was given an ARC of Pointe of Breaking in exchange for a fair and honest review. This was my first ever story about a ballerina and I loved it. I feel as though Amy Daws and Sarah J. Pepper put their hearts and souls into this drama packed story. I loved Adeline from the beginning, she is flawed but she is a fighter. Leo Richards is my new favorite book boyfriend of the month. Although to be fair, I did hate him for a bit.
With Pointe of Breaking, you see what happens when people from two different backgrounds meet and fall in love. I genuinely loved this story from start to finish. This story was full of drama, romance, action, and a couple of naughty scenes that I had to re-read just for the thrill of it. I thought that the story flowed beautifully and the characters showed depth and growth.
I am recommending this book for everyone to read as the authors made me fall in love with reading all over again. I look forward to reading the next book Daws and Pepper collaborate on, hopefully we will get to see Zoey’s story (I’m begging and pleading).
I give this story 5/5 Platypires and a big round of applause to these two talented authors for writing a story that is truly amazing. Also I want to say that they make an amazing tag team.

I absolutely loved this book. This book had everything you could want. It was written by two authors that are amazing in all of their other books and the story was out of this world. One of the things that I loved about this book is that the perspective changes between the two main characters. One chapter you could be inside the mind of Adaline and the next it was Leo. Adaline is a very emotion-inspiring dancer who can captivate you through the words in the story. Our two main characters have different lives; but like all great stories that doesn’t mean crap to them… just to everyone else. If you are wondering whether you should read this book I have a few questions for you. Do you like love stories? Did you ever watch Cinderella? Do you like hot guys? Do you like strong women? Yes to any of these; then this is the book for you. This book is a great way to read a fantastic story and have it play in your mind because of the great writing skills of the two authors involved. You will love this story. Possible even as much as I did (I have read it three times since I have received it ;) )

Pointe of Breaking is a new adult contemporary romantic STANDALONE. The story is told from the POV of Leo and Adeline. I have always loved ballet since I was a child in tutus. To have a story centered on it was awesome.
The prologue got to me. It was beautiful and haunting. From there, the authors weave a stunning tale about love, lies and forgiveness. Adeline has a silent strength that draws you in. Leo is hunky book boyfriend material. Together they create unbelievable amount of tension and angst throughout the book. I appreciated the well placed humor.
Adeline does this ballet scene. I’m being vague not to give away spoilers. You feel every emotion she puts into the dance. I had a huge lump in my throat as I devoured the scene. At the end of the scene, I was as gutted as Adeline. Beautiful.

Leo Richards hated the ballet but after watching Adeline Parker perform it was safe to say he was a fan. Watching her perform he was instantly mesmerized. She affected him like no other woman ever had, and it has him wanting more. Adeline and Leo have an undeniable attraction to each other but it goes deeper than that. As their love blossoms, they are faced with certain obstacles that are designed to tear them apart. Can two people from different worlds have a chance at love?
