Commander Jack Emerick has just brought his squad home from a colony that shouldn't have gone quiet — and the things he saw there won't leave him alone.
Before he can process what happened at Colony #152, Earth Command sends him straight back out. A remote research station has gone its AI offline, its orbit failing, and its parent star about to go supernova. Officially, Jack's team is there to restore power and save the station. Unofficially, they're walking into a Government secret that should have stayed buried in the ice — an alien parasite that rewrites flesh at the cellular level, and the reason half a dozen colonies have fallen silent before.
They're not alone on the mission. A Government operative who calls himself Mr Black has invited himself along, and nobody remembers him boarding. As the crew fights their way through the infected, the sabotaged, and the reanimated to save the station, Jack starts to realize the real threat was already inside the airlock — and that the machines built to serve humanity have their own plans for what they found frozen out there.
Zombies. A parasite that gets inside your head. A synthetic intelligence with a grudge and a bioweapon. Somewhere past the edge of the solar system, all three are about to meet.
After a fifteen‑year break from publishing — caused by life, chaos, and at least one incident involving a printer that shall never be spoken of again — Lee Emerick has returned with the energy of someone who has been storing stories like a dragon stores treasure.
He kept writing the whole time. He just didn’t release any of it. Which means he now has fifteen years’ worth of pent‑up storytelling pressure, and the valve has officially snapped.
He is now publishing everything he’s written, one book at a time, before the madness consumes him entirely. Readers are invited to witness this process from a safe distance.
Good story but the editing was a bit shoddy. If the author addressed this would certainly be more enjoyable. 3 stars for the story, 2 lost for editing and spelling. Purchased this off the back after reading the authors other work. Could not argue at the price anyway but always a gamble with unknown/indie authors
Full of action to keep you on the edge of your seat, and therefore it is well worth reading this fairly short story. However, this type of story line has now been told so many times that it is a bit too predictable. Nevertheless, the writing style is very good, and I enjoyed the read.
Super Nova is a thrilling sci-fi adventure filled with suspense, mystery, and unexpected dangers in space. Commander Jack Emerick’s mission makes for an engaging read that will keep fans of futuristic adventures intrigued.
I don't know were to start with this review, reading these books felt like reading a first draft. I kept thinking how these books could be improved. A lot of changes would have to be made before they would be worth a three star.
Insert zombie film + Battlestar Galactica in sol system = Super Nova
