Dark and mature themes are all over this book!

Hayden is trapped in a deadly organization that forces him to kill, slowly losing himself to its dark underworld.

Then he meets Callie.

When she’s kidnapped by the very people he works for, Hayden will risk everything to save her. But escaping means facing the deadly Game of the Order, where powerful elites bet on girls’ survival… and their deaths.

And when their escape goes wrong, Hayden finds himself face to face with the monsters who want him dead.

😩😩😩😩

First and foremost, I have to talk about how good this book is and the chokehold it had me in the entire time. Also, I am HONORED to share a birthday with this book! December 15th, this book drops live AND I’ll be turning a year younger so add this book to your ever long TBR 😂

Okay, okay, right away I have to praise one thing off the bat. THANK YOU for having 97 chapters but making them so short. I was constantly thinking, “Ah, what the hell, I’ll finish this tonight,” and damn, am I happy I did, but I’m also sad I did because it’s over. 😣

Seriously, Hayden came off so mysterious and macho, and he quickly became someone I couldn’t trust. I was questioning EVERYTHING he said and did. And Callie? SO strong. She held her head up high despite EVERYTHING she encountered, and my heart hurt for her throughout this entire book. She’s truly the hero of this story for me.

And that ending??? I can’t accept it. I NEED MORE. Immediately.

Kay Marrie…………. I hope you’re listening ✍️

Some books take time to pull you in. This one had me hooked from the very first line. 🖤

Dangerous Games by Kay Marrie is the kind of dark, intense story that grabs your attention and makes you want to keep turning pages just to find out how much worse things can get. The premise alone was enough to pull me in, but the combination of a dangerous underworld, emotional stakes, and a love that becomes someone's reason to fight back made it even more intriguing.

Hayden is a character trapped in a world that has slowly stripped away his humanity. Trained to kill and forced to survive within an organization involved in trafficking, he has become a part of the darkness surrounding him. But then there's Callie. She becomes the one person who gives him a reason to hold on to whatever remains of himself. When she is kidnapped by the very people he works for, his world begins to unravel, and saving her becomes more important than his own survival.

What makes the premise so gripping is the danger surrounding their escape. The idea of the Game of the Order, where powerful elites gamble on girls' survival and death, adds a disturbing layer of suspense to the story. The stakes feel terrifyingly high, and the thought of Hayden and Callie being caught in a world where human lives are treated as entertainment makes their fight for freedom even more intense.

One of the things that immediately caught my attention was the emotional contrast between Hayden's dark, violent world and the connection he shares with Callie. The idea that someone trained to kill could find a reason to fight against the very system that created him is fascinating. It makes you wonder how much of a person can be lost to darkness before there's nothing left to save—and whether love can give them a reason to find their way back.

I also love how the premise promises a story filled with tension, difficult choices, danger, and the possibility of devastating consequences. This isn't a lighthearted romance; it explores a much darker world where survival comes at a cost, and escaping doesn't necessarily mean being free.

Honestly, the book's opening was what really got me. I was hooked from the very first line, and the premise kept me curious about what would happen next. I love stories that combine darkness, suspense, emotional conflict, and complicated characters, and Dangerous Games immediately caught my attention with all of these elements.

If you enjoy dark romance, morally complicated characters, high-stakes suspense, and stories where love becomes a reason to fight against an unforgiving world, this book deserves a place on your reading list. Just be mindful that its premise involves trafficking, kidnapping, violence, and the exploitation of women, so it may be a difficult read for some readers.

Final thoughts: Dangerous Games pulled me in from the very beginning with its gripping premise and dark atmosphere. I'm excited by the emotional intensity of Hayden and Callie's story, and this is exactly the kind of book that makes you want to keep reading to uncover what happens next.

I got this ebook copy from the author and Booksirens and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Dangerous Games grabbed me by the throat early and did not loosen up much after that. This is one dark, twisted, brutal ride packed with danger, survival, obsession, violence, and some seriously messed up people.

Hayden and Callie kept me invested because neither one walks away from this nightmare untouched. The tension stays heavy, the danger feels real, and just when you think they might finally catch a break, something else comes crashing through the door.

This book gets graphic and downright disturbing at times, so check those trigger warnings. But if you like dark romance mixed with survival, suspense, twisted secrets, and characters fighting their way through hell, this one delivers.

I give it a 5 outta 5 catfish!

I read an advanced copy, my opinions are my own.

This book has lots of TWs so please be sure to read these first but now that we're past that....this book was so good. It was gripping, frustrating, sad, emotional, devastating but happy all at the same time. It was a roller coaster but in the best way possible.

Hayden and Callie, they were so well written and their growth with their relationship was done well, I honestly appreciated that it grew with the story and wasn't insta love or forced down your throat.

If you like the capture/captive, harder to read but has a happy ending, this book is definitely for you

Kay marrie created an incredible piece of writing with this book, there’s some very heavy topics but it’s so well written. Has you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. It has elements from some of my favourite books (haunting Adeline, in his cage by Ella Jacobs, also delivered to the devil by Ella Jacobs,) I absolutely love this book, it has moments that are difficult to read but definitely worth it. Callie is a badass, she was so strong. To me Hayden is one of those characters you want to hate but you can’t, very well written indeed.

Dangerous Games had me completely hooked. There was something about the atmosphere, the tension, and the darker elements that kept pulling me further into the story. I loved how the characters developed as the story unfolded, and I never quite knew what was coming next.
The twists definitely kept me guessing, and the suspense had me saying “okay, just one more chapter” more than once. Dark, intense, and seriously addictive—this one kept my attention from beginning to end.

This book Dangerous Games, for me was definitely without a doubt a 5 star book.
From the first page I was devoted to finishing this book refusing to take a break. I loved the way the characters were written and the way their stories unfolded. This is the type of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat, constantly guessing it’s very dark with a lot of tension.
It had me feeling so many emotions from sad, happy, hopeful, angry and just down right furious at some of the characters.
This book is the type of book that has me going back to the very beginning just to read all over again. I am very envious of any reader that now gets to read this book for the very first time.

Dangerous Games completely consumed me. From the character development to the slow build of the story, I was hooked and genuinely struggled to put it down.

This book took me through so many emotions. The tension, the darker moments, the twists and the way everything gradually unfolded had me constantly thinking, just one more page. I needed to know what was coming next.
