Meghan is visiting England before starting college when she meets Kiernan. He drags her to an "exclusive" underground club where people wear fake wings. From the moment she meets his father at the club, her life is changed forever!

I'm torn with this book! While there are things I enjoyed, there was more things that annoyed me about the plot! I'll get the negative out of the way first. (may contain spoilers so read at your peril!!!)

Why in all that is good, would Meghan not totally freak out when she is imprisoned by Kiernan's dad, and then freak even more when Kiernan start's drinking her blood!!!! She just seems to take it all in her stride and eventually decides that she needs to escape. I so wanted her to be a little more assertive and kick ass.

There is another part that drove me nuts, where Kiernan's father shoots someone and nobody does anything!!!! They don't vow revenge, they don't even really mention it much throughout the books, he does it and nobody seems to care.

The love triangle!!! Ugh, so so annoying. The fact they are brothers also repulsed me a little. You do not go there!!!!

There are a few other nitty gritty things that annoyed me but there's no point in going over them now.

There are a few positives, I liked the world building and the world the author has created. It was well developed. I liked some of the characters... mainly Wish. And I enjoyed the settings. I just couldn't connect to the MC as she was just so indecisive and lack luster. Not my favourite book, but I know plenty of people will like it.

Meghan Lewis did a good job. She read the story well and was easy to listen to. I had no problem with her performance.

*I received a free copy of this but voluntarily reviewed it. This in no way affected my thoughts.*

A great trilogy about a divided group of fae - the light and the dark - and the trials and tribulations of twin brothers raised by opposite sides of the divide, the human girl that charms them both and a friend to all 3 who always brings out the best in them.

SPOILERS
I'm about 4 hours into listening to the audiobook version. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. So far it's really quite good.

It is told from a third person point of view which is a bit jarring at times as I prefer listening to first person perspectives.

The story starts out with our young damsel in distress... far away from home for the very first time, all alone in a big city, hanging out with a cute guy and being led into an underground club.

From there a fae world that is unlike any I've read about emerges - there are dark fae (they've found a way to live around iron) and the light fae (herbologists, healers and very earthy).

There's also the quintessential love triangle featuring our damsel in distress, a light fae and a dark fae - that just so happen to be twins.

Our damsel in distress does get kidnapped and hurt against her will.

My favorite character so far is a goofy fae named Wish. He reminds me of Puck from Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.

This book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review

The rest of the first book was great. I'm already on to the second book. I still love Wish.

I do think that the book would have been better if somehow it was made crystal clear that the wings of the underground fae are fake. At first I was thinking that somehow these fae just had the most strange wings ever. Either way is interesting but since they are clearly fake it would be nice if that was made clear. Like "Megan would later find out that these fairies wings were all fake and handmade".

I love Selina. I want to kick Killian in the shins a few hundred times.

This is a very fun and great series and it really would have been a shame if I had missed out on it. I am VERY thankful to Anna Kyss for giving me the trilogy for free in exchange for an honest review on Audible.

Update:
Book 2 is great. I am sure I am nearing the end of it. Kiernan, Wish and Megan all end up in Costa Rica. They are trying to research what makes Wish's magic so potent and so capable of enduring metal.

The 3 end up being pulled towards the magic through the rainforest and end up visiting an Elven community.

The Elven magic is incredible. I won't ruin the awe-inspiring moments by writing about them. I'll just say that the magic written about is truly magical!

Lord Killian ends up once again crashing the happiness of others.

And that's where I'm at right now. These books have continuously amazed me.

***SPOILERS***

I finished Book 2 and it was really great. I have already begun Book 3 and I am enjoying listening about the Seattle fae. I think there may even be a bit about selkies in this book.

Our love triangle trio (Kiernan, Avery & Megan) are just now back in the light fae community of Sulles where both Kiernan & Avery (twins) were born. They are there to rescue a dear friend, to teach the light fae how to deal with toxins and to hopefully once and for all take down their evil doing father, Lord Killian

**Last Update**
I finished book 3 and I have to say the imagery will stay with me for a long time. I absolutely loved - yes, LOVED, this series and I recommend it to anyone who loves the fae as much as I do.

The Underground Trilogy is a paranormal fantasy romance. The main character, Meghan, is visiting England by herself before starting college. She meets a young man named Kiernan who drags her to what she believes is just an underground club. Far too late, she finds out that there is much more to it than that. The Fae are very much real and she is now their prisoner! Can she ever hope to escape the clutches of the dark fae? Will Kiernan fight for the human girl he is enamored of or will he continue to blindly follow his father's orders?

I would first like to state that I received the audiobook of the trilogy free from the author in exchange for an honest review. That being said, I love all things fae and this set did not disappoint by any means. The romance was decent, the characters multi-faceted, and the pace steady. I have to say of all the characters, Kiernan and Wish were my favorites. I liked Wish because he was just hilarious. Kiernan on the other hand, was brooding and forever doubting himself at first (I do love my brooding heroes!). Over the course of the trilogy we really get to see him come out of his shell and shine. Meghan was a decent heroine, she just got on my nerves at times with her indecisiveness (a bit reminiscent of Bella from Twilight). However this was a good set, full of suspense, magic, and love (not just of the romantic sort). Lovers of fantasy romance, buckle-up because this is one ride you don't want to miss!

I loved the Underground Trilogy by Anna Kyss. It's a series about the fae and could be viewed as a type of origins story for the vampire myth. In a nutshell, the story involves an American student traveling abroad in London who meets twin brothers who were raised apart, one with each parent. One brother is considered light and the other dark and they must join forces if they are to cure the fae of the illness plaguing them for centuries.

Meghan Lewis did an outstanding job narrating all three audiobooks and they were impossible to put down! She really brings all of the characters to life giving each one their own distinct voice, both male and female. She also has a rhythm to her reading that is melodious, giving it a fairytale quality. In summary, Anna Kyss and Meghan Lewis together are the perfect pairing for hours of thoroughly enjoyable entertainment.

I was generously provided a copy of this audiobook by the author Anna Kyss in exchange for an honest review.

When I first received the book the cover captured my attention immediately. The narrator, Meghan Lewis, did a good job and kept a decent pace throughout.

Anna is a new author for me. I was not sure what to expect. The story overall kept my attention but lacked development. It left me feeling like there should be more. It is the typical girl leaves home on an adventure story and gets kidnapped, then needs to be rescued.

Without reading anything about the story or reviews before listening to this I was left a little frustrated.

This was a set of three in a series. It is similar to other fairy, elves, human books but the story is solid all the way through. The story:Twin heirs to the throne,seperated,1 abused,1 not, fall for the same girl, angst ensues...a tyrant is overthrown. The little stories in between are the best parst!I was given this book free by the author, narrator or publisher.Meghan Lewis is a fantastic narrator! Her characters really come to life!

Fun

Interesting take on the Fae. Good characters and fascinating story. I read all three one after the other. It's clean and has a good romance with no gutter language. Happy to have this in my library.

I am new to this author, and loved the storytelling in this trilogy. It is a great story of brotherhood and growth - appropriate for both teen and adult audiences.

I would highly recommend for any readers who love fantasy, adventure, and coming of age tales.
