My mum read to me from an early age and encouraged me to write my own stories. She was positive I could become a published author. Unfortunately she passed before she could see my dream come true. I still miss her love and friendship. It was the catalyst for me to start writing seriously.
I write paranormal and contemporary romances and romantic comedy.
When I'm not writing I enjoy reading, cinema, live gigs, theatre, keeping fit, travel, Formula One, darts and spending quality time with friends.
This series as a whole is full of passion and naughtiness, but Broken Mate has a slightly darker undertone. Jude is truly broken by his past, and he feels like there is no way through his trauma to be the mate Mercy needs.
This isn't an easy read - it tackles the emotion of Jude's trauma and Mercy's feelings of helplessness beautifully. However, it's not all like that. Returning characters carry the series' overall story forward too, and there is a hint at new characters to come too!
I’ve been loving this series and this book tells Jude and Mercy’s story. Jude has had a difficult journey before he reached the safety of Serendipity. Toya writes well the ptsd journey. Just because you are now safe doesn’t mean that you are fixed, even with counselling you get flash backs or things that just trigger you. It’s a darker story than some, but it’s written with sensitivity about something that affects lots of different people for lots of different reasons. It’s an emotional journey for Jude and Mercy, but it’s a great read. I look forward to more from this fab series
Jude has been beaten and broken but finding his mate has helped him heal in so many ways. Tough days and nightmares keep him hiding away in the beginning but his mate is not backing away from him. More trouble is coming but also so much love and happiness has been shown as well.
This is the last book in the series and it was such a great way to end it. I absolutely loved reading this book, it had such wonderful characters and the journey they went through to get their ending was just right.
