This book should have been called... Double standards lol
See, the thing is this... I liked the booked, thought it was pretty fresh. HOWEVER...I get frustrated when I have a slew of characters tossed at me way too fast.... Now when I read a book it's just like a movie for me, I can see locations, faces, etc etc... however this is not in fact a movie, its a book and so many characters are tossed at you quickly you start to lose faces and it makes for a pretty difficult read. So I spent a lot of time trying to make sure I had descriptions matched correctly.. which was a little tiring honestly.
I thought the book was going to be focused on Key and Cash... but we have a lot of different players with a lot of different issues and its so much going on you literally have to stay on it or you will miss something.
I was actually going to go through and state my likes and dislikes about each character but I can sum it up quickly... All the men are f****ed up... and they can dish it hard as hell but they can't take it.. at all. Actually they act more b**** made than the females. Grown men fighting and killing because they are jealous... LOL that actually made me laugh and smdh.
And these chick.. I mean a like the pop off queens LOL. I wanted to yell... most of yall have a bucket of kids act like some freaking mothers!
Loved how they stick together though.. like glue.. it's nice to see!

This book brought the drama & more to the table & the men straight up disrepecting there women but you best believe the women held there man down when needed I luv me some Cash in all I think him & Keisha belongs together I'm already into part 2 go cop your book this is da BOMB....

This would have been a 5 star if it wasn't for the errors but the overall flow of the story was wild. Prince definitely was that dude

These dudes are the most hypocritical group I have ever read..sheesh...I'm not feeling Nan none of em..especially Ru! They are all entertaining though sooo..on to the next lol

December 28, 2016After babies have been introduced to their father's that knew nothing of them...after ex's have been dealt with for the betrayals and treachery...after each member have proclaimed their undying love and allegiance...after all has been forgiven...can all of the slights, the mishaps, the shortcomings and infidelities...the get-backs...can all of these atrocities be forgotten so that each can focus on their extraordinary love. Is there really love ever after when you live life on the wrong side of the law? How many passes will these ladies give their men all for the sake of love? Can the men truly man up and accept an 'L' when they see that cheating works on both sides of the fence...what's good for the goose is indeed good for the gander...or did they memorize that rhyme?
I am enthralled with each of these characters, each of their plots...I just 'get them' and am enjoying this series to the utmost! Yep! Karma has boatloads of editing issues...if she would make the effort and clean up that part, she'd be A-1 from Day 1!

Sigh
I don't get it why can't authors write a whole book, instead of bits by bits that getting annoying real fast man. And I get a headache reading different pov, can we just focus on one couple and start the next book with each different couple since ya going to write fifteen books with anyway. Too much to focus on at once and many people to focus, can't deal.

Very typical story
Predictable novel . Casual killings , abuse , absurdly rich individuals who risk their millions to be behind bars - yeah right . At times I was hoping that the book was over because there useless conversations . Not impressed at all.

I couldn't get into it for some reason...felt like I had already read this...ill come back later...I think I just read so much hood drama in the last few weeks that I was frustrated with same ole same ole...but I'll come back later and try this again...so I'm 50/50 right now...

OMG, this book was everything! It held my attention from the beginning to the end. Cashmere had just been released from prison, and besides his children, he only had one other person on his mind, and that was Keyshia. After doing a bid in prison, he began to realize that family was the most important thing. He previously had broken Keyshia's heart, after he chose his other children's mother, Kaiyah. He quickly realized that he made the wrong choice, but the damage was already done, and he had to fix the damage that he done to Keyshia, and convinced her, that she was the one for him.
Keyshia, not only had a successful career, was a mother, but she was the HBIC, when it came to the streets. She had the ability to shoot now, and ask questions later. When it came to foolishness, Keyshia didn't have room for it. Cashmere knew that when it came to her, he had to come correct. There were just two problems, the lack of trust, and Kaiyah. Keyshia wasn't at all intimated by Kaiyah, but she knew that Cashmere had a soft spot for her, and she didn't have any time to be a rebound, or to be heartbroken again.
Kaiyah was the definition of a trifling baby's mother. She only cared about one thing, and that was herself. She not only left Cashmere when he needed her the most, but she was sneaky, cunning, conniving disloyal, and everything, but a child of God. When it came to being a mother, she didn't want any parts of it, and she definitely made it known. She was as fake as a four dollar bill, and the only thing she had to offer, was what her mouth did, in which, she didn't have a preference who she did that too either. Cashmere thought that the worst part was over, but instead, the worst was yet to come. Kaiyah wouldn't go down without a fight, and she refused to let Keyshia and Cashmere be happy. If she was miserable, she made it known that everyone else would be too.
Tan had been married to her husband for over ten years, and that was the only man that she knew. Just as much as she loved her husband, she had began to resent him, and she had began to lose herself in her marriage. Dealing with the physical abuse from her husband, she came to her wits end with him, and even though she loved him, she had decided to put herself first.
Bree was Keyshia's twin, and they indeed had that twin connection. Prince had a thing for Bree, but she was playing hard to get. It wasn't that she didn't like Prince, she didn't want to be caught up in the drug lifestyle. Even a blind person could see the chemistry that the two had for one another. Eventually Prince persistency paid off, and he had the woman of his dreams.
Jayce was a beast in the courtroom, in fact, she was the go to person, when it came to the legal issues. She was the nerd, and was very passive when it came to her relationship. Everyone though that she was naive and innocent, and in a way she was, however, just like any of person, she had her own personal issues, because little did everyone know, she had her own secrets to uncover.
There was a certain person that had personal vendetta against one of the members in this close knit family, and with snakes that were lurking about, everything that was done in the past, would surely be resurfaced, which would be a problem with some, being that it would've been some of them third strike. Karma Monae made this book drama filled, action filled, and full of emotions. I can't wait to see what the next book is going to be like, but I'm sure, it's going to be well worth the read!

Drama!
Talk about DRAMA! I can’t believe it took me this long to read this series, Karma Monae did her thing with this series. All the guys in here a pathetic and trifling, besides Cash and Prince they got they act together, but I hope the woman boss up or leave them. It’s sad to see all the couples going through this. Smh I can’t wait to start part two.

Great
This was my first book by this author and I can say I was not disappointed at all. I thought this was a great book I just hope things work out in the next book. Kai is going to get what he deserves as well as kaiyah how can you do that to ya baby father. She deserves to get her butt beat again.

The Drama
I really need these men to get it together. They can dish it but not take it. Mike has the nerve to be upset after what he put Jae through. I’m not a big fan of domestic abuse and they did it a lot.
Would have given five stars but it kind of dragged in certain parts.

Karma did her thing with this love story! I loved the crew and their relationship between each other. Ooh now I was mad at Keyshia once her secret came out even though it was understandable. The chemistry between Key and Cash was undeniable and I really liked them. Now Ru was the main one that got on my nerves. He constantly caused confusion in his own relationship and got mad once Tan messed up. I just wanted Tan to finally be done, regardless of how many years and heartbreaks she dealt with from Ru. Prince was too funny and I swear I loved him the most. That dude was determined to have Bree and didn't mind stirring up some problems when he felt disrespected. As much as Bree was trying to fight her feelings I was so glad she put her stubbornness aside before she wound up losing the one who seemed to complete her. Now Mike was just down right dirty and like a typical dude he forgot about all his wrongdoings to focus on what he thought Jae may have done wrong. These dudes were doing too much instead of helping build a solid relationship with their significant others. Sky'ir was a mess and I loved his attitude. As for Kai, his personal vendetta might cost him so much more. Rock has got to be one dumb dude because no ass should be worth all the problems he has now. Kaiyah hoe ass really pissed me off once everything was put out in the open and I can't wait until karma finally pays her trifling ass a visit. After that ending I can't wait for part 2. Who is responsible for what happened to Keyshia, will the guys get out of their situations, is Kai ready for the wrath that's sure to follow, how will Cash handle the secrets once things come out, and will there be many more tests to come about and the destroy Keyshia and Cashmere's hood love story?

A must read. These characters are something else. Ru & cash are coming home from jail too a bunch of drama and secrets. Keyshia,Tandy,bree,sky,mike and Prince have been holding down the empire but now there boys are out and ready to take back over. Keyshia is holding a 6 yr secret from cash and when he finds out they try to start a relationship but his baby mama kaiyah shows up causing problems. Tandy loves ru but when he keeps his daughter a secret she leaves him for good. Prince and bree are just crazy but you will love them. Jacey and Mike are the perfect couple but their marriage isn't and trust issues are major. The crew start to experience drama and when the police gets involved one common factor is behind it all and the ladies may have been mingling with the enemy. Can't waiting for book 2 to see how it all unfolds.

OMG!!! FIYAH this is so good. The action and drama is on. You will not put this book down. The men are off the chain!. Prince , Ru, Cash and Mike are so sexy and dangerous. The ladies are a force to be reckoned with also. This is a good romance but different from ANY other hood book. The twist and turns, the sex, the whole story line catches you throughout the book. There is so much going on, but it all works together. The many sides to the men in this book are reality based with just enough fantasy thrown in. This is a NEED to read book.
