The Three Most Wanted

Rate this book
2,000 KILOMETRES – 3 NEW ADULTS – A BLOC-WIDE MANHUNT
SAFE? NOT EVEN COMPARATIVELY.

“Bane? Take Margo and go. You’ve done everything you can. Just leave me here, I’ll be fine.”
“No, you won’t,” said Bane.
“Fine. I won’t. Doesn’t make any difference now. Go.”

Margo, Bane and Jon are posing as just three more summer backpackers... but they have two thousand kilometres to go and the EuroGov’s hunt is closing in.
They’re not the only ones in trouble. Major Everington is on trial for his life. And all those who help and betray them have problems of their own – the EuroGov has a lot to answer for.
Even if they make it – just how safe is the long-besieged Free State?

Even better than book 1. Incredible book and series.

Full review to follow ...

These books are so good it took every ounce of self-control to not pick up book 2 until after writing my review of book 1 - I Am Margaret. It was worth the wait. This book continues immediately after book one. The story in some ways has a very different pace than book one. But it is a very tight story. A story about resistance, about friendship, betrayal, faith and a journey of 2000 kilometers and above all hope.

At the end of book 1 Bane has freed Margo and Jon and the other ReAssigness from the EuroGov facility. Now they are all on the run. They must cross the continent because their survival depends on it. And now they are the Three most wanted. The three are pretending to be new adults backpacking across the country. Being careful of who notices them, and how much they interact with others. But life trekking across the wilderness can end up being harder than expected. Especially with Margo recovering from the start of her collection. Jon being blind and hiking across the country and with needing to be extra cautious at every turn.

The three friends encounter a wolf pack, up close and personal, a bear and experience betrayal more than once. Their journey seems to get harder at every turn. All of this while trying to make it to the Vatican free state.

Amazing story! Excellent writing. Some incredible characters who lay it all on the line. I cannot wait for book three to be available in North America and will be following Book 4's release in the UK. Great books give them a try.

Oh, my heart! I think this second book was even better than the first! This story had the three heroes from I Am Margaret (Margaret/Margo, Bane, and Jon) in mortal peril the entire time and I could not turn the pages fast enough. The escapees from the Facility that wanted to Dismantle them are fleeing across the EuroBloc to the Free Vatican State. The Powers-That-Be are furious about Margo's book as well as the escape, hence their branding as The Three Most Wanted. In their flight across the Continent, the three encounter dangers in the wilderness, dangers from betrayal, and have so many harrowing encounters, I could hardly bear to pause in reading. Their situation even entered my nightly dreams! An amazing blend of dystopian suspense and faith. Highly recommend!

I'm really enjoying Corinna Turner's series. It's engaging dystopian-future fiction with Catholic sensibilities, yet it doesn't come off as preachy. Not once do I suddenly feel like I'm suddenly reading an apologetics pamphlet, which is nice (even as a devout Catholic myself).

I can also see how current policies and thought-processes could lead to the kind of world Margaret and her friends inhabit. Turner gives her characters enough time to become developed, and she definitely doesn't gloss over the trauma her characters have endured in the first novel. I enjoyed I am Margaret so much that I just bought the rest of the series together.

This was fine, but felt like one of a series, rather than a novel in its own right... Worth reading if you are into the series/invested in the characters; but I always prefer it when authors pull off that difficult trick of making series novels work as complete stories in themselves; and this didn't quite do that.

Because of the timing of midterms and other obstacles, I was not able to finish this book as quickly as the I Am Margaret, though I still enjoyed it immensely.

Margo was strong as ever. I think she actually grew quite a bit in this book. I still feel that, to some degree, she sees Bane through a rose-colored lens, but at least I was seeing the goodness in him, rather than just being told about it. I'm glad Margo got her birth-control chip out of her at the end. I guess they're just lucky the government hadn't started putting in tracking chips yet.

Bane is still rather annoying, though, like I said, I can see his goodness now. He certainly grew a lot in this book. He has gotten to the point that, while still protective of Margo (which is a good thing) it no longer feels so much like he is overprotective. I do wish he would go to an anger-management class though.

I still like Jon better than I like Bane. He didn't descend completely into self pity, which is something that I had feared at the end of the first book. I mean, he has his moments when he is clearly just feeling sorry for himself, but mostly he seemed to be keeping up his character-strength, even while loosing his bodily strength. It did seem odd that he got shot twice, and he was weaker than the other two. I understand that he was blind, which would make walking an unfamiliar path much more difficult, but in the other book I felt that his athleticism and bodily strength were pretty well established, so I felt that his exhaustion may have been slightly exaggerated. I really hope he finds happiness by the end of this series.

I'm glad we finally got to meet Kyle. I look forward to seeing him more in the next book, and maybe meeting Jon's sister? And both Margo and Jon's families. I really like Father Mark. I guess you have to be strong to be a priest during a time when being a priest could result in an extremely painful death. I think that Pope Cornelius is incredible, I can't wait to find out more about him. I knew what Cardinal Hans was going to do long before Margo and the rest of them found out.

I hope to see Juwan and Dominique again. They were another set of interesting characters that we didn't get to know very well, and I'm still hoping to get to know Jane better than we did in the first book.

Even though I believe I have adequately expressed the fact that I like Jon more than Bane, I am extremely grateful that Corinna Turner is not approaching the difficult matter of Jon's feelings for Margo as a love triangle. There was a brief moment at the beginning of the book when I could see how the relationships could go that way, but then the author steered us safely away from that path, showing that, while she loves Jon very much as a friend, Margo never had any romantic feelings for him. Once in a great while I appreciate a good love triangle, but they are a fad that is overdone far too much lately, so it's nice to have a book that does not lead us too deeply down that plot line.

These books are stressful (in a good way) and I want to know what will happen next. If only there wasn't so much school work. Sigh. I can Identify with this song right now.

Hmmmm...would have been a smashing book, if it wasn't for all the innuendos and content. Not to mention the amount of VERY near occasions of sin between Margo and Bane. Oh, and Margo is nearly raped AGAIN? Really? That was in the first book too. Strangely enough, she doesn't seem to be all that traumatised by nearly being violated twice in the space of a couple of months...
Don't think I'll read further into this series. A pity really, since they are gripping and excellently plotted and written.
Also, the Vatican was fabulous! I LOVED the whole worldbuilding and the characters - as vivid and engaging as Corinna Turner's characters usually are. All the same, not sure how I feel about the amount of Brits running the show in the Vatican though...last time that happened, Pope Adrian IV permitted Henry II of England to invade my country. 800 years later....! XD XD

Loved this book! Could barely put it down...same problem I had with the "I am Margaret." I am so invested in Corinna Turner's characters, and I can't wait to read the next two books in this gripping series!

Didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first in this series. Since, you kind of know what’s going to happened, the characters will get to their destination, but what obscurities and problems will they face to get there. Thus, for most of the book, the story involved around this, get away from the enemy, plan where to go, find food, found allies, betrayed for allies, run away, mend up getting hurt, hungry, find food, find ally, deceived by allies, run away, patch up getting hurt, keep travelling, but in a new distraction.

Then, the love triangle between Margaret and the two boys, is nothing new and bored me.

Yeah, there was a few things that annoyed me in this story. However, a twist at the end, saved the story for me. Yet, I can kind of work out a few plots that will arise in the next few books, of this series. However, I will continued to read on, as this is the sort of book, I would have loved to read when I was in my teens. Thus, won’t complain about it too much. Its what you would call a clean teen book, when there is very around.

This is the first book in the series that I read, even though it's book two, and I loved it! The EuroGov has taken control of everything and implemented unethical programs that all must live by. Margo has become a top rebel, standing up for what is right, good, and true, and many look to her for guidance. But now she, Jon, and Bane are on the run!

This is a gritty, action-packed adventure full of twists. Older teens and adults, especially fans of dystopian, will love it!

Margo and Jon became my favorite characters right away. I loved that a blind man was a main character and such a strong, selfless, capable character at that. I also liked the character Bane a lot. He struggles with a bit more than the others, in a sense, and he has a bit of growth to come (yes, I read the next two books in this series already).

Every character in this series is well-developed and I wanted to keep reading more about them after I finished the book. Highly recommend!

Though it has been a while since I read book one, the second installment in this series drew me right in. The story is so exciting and suspenseful. I love the romantic tension between Margo, Bane and Jon (who still loves her even though he’s been friend-zoned).

In the second half of the book, there are so many twists and turns that keep you guessing and turning the pages. This is a powerful dystopian story about the value of human life, sacrifice, rising up against injustice, and pushing oneself to the limit mentally, physically, and spiritually. I can’t wait to read more of these characters’ adventures. I absolutely love this series!

I really want to like these books, they have some cool ideas and premise, but the content, no.
First of all, there's lots of innuendo, and they way things are dealt with aren't great, some of the comments made in the book by supposedly good people are manifestly unchaste and unsuitable, Margaret gets a little more physical than I'm comfortable with, and there's way too much swearing.
I don't know, these books have potential, they just fall short.

This second book in the series picks right up from where 'I Am Margaret' left off and takes us on a tense road trip across Europe. With Margaret and her friends now on the run, Corinne Turner has really amped up the drama and intrigue, assisted by a host of complex supporting characters. This is a brilliant read with so many twists and turns it will keep you guessing until the very end.

Loved this book even more than the first one!
I don’t have anyone else to rant about this too so I’m now gonna go on a “why I love Jon so much” rant. If u hate Jon, sorry, WHAT?? Anyway Jon (this rant contains spoilers for ALL I am Margaret books if u haven’t read them all, don’t read this)
I love Jon so much. I have never loved a book character as much as I Love Jon. I’m not kidding I have a 6 hour Spotify playlist for him. I just love how strong he is and how selfless he is and how he cares for Margo while respecting that she’s in love with Bane and knowing that he can never have her. And I KNEW he was gonna become a priest in the end and ahhhh I was so happy to read about that in Margo’s Diary. I just- how did Corinna write a character that is literally the epitome of amazing ness. And I just love that Jon works so hard for everyone and he totally neglects himself for others and I just- aghhh!!! I have imagined myself in this universe so many times JUST so I could Jon. Literally nothing would make me happier than meeting this man. And I do not understand why Margo chose Bane (but I actually do because Bane is awesome and his character development is just 👌and I get that he and Margo loved each other since childhood and they have a connection that she and Jon will never have) over Jon because if it were up to me I would have chosen Jon in a heartbeat. BUT he became a priest and I am so happy for him!! And also I loved reading about him with Margo and Bane’s kids and just- I am pretty sure that I was reading this book mostly to read the parts with Jon in it because I think I have an unhealthy obsession with him. Enough said. If u got to the end of this…. Wow! Thanks for putting up with this review because I needed to rant.
Anyway I loved this book and I love all of corinnas books! 💛

Lots of undercover elements of The Hunger Games and Harry Potter in here. (plus one Lord of the Rings reference). A good story - the continuation of the series is very desperate and terrifying at times, although I think the plot moves forward at the expense of character reactions/development.

I sent my husband to the store to purchase this one for me before the store closed. I had to see if Turner could keep my interest in the second book as so many series have disappointed me with second installments. She did not disappoint. In fact, she had me wishing the Catholic book store was open on Sunday when I finished.

The Three Most Wanted is a story of survival, faith tried and tested, and freedom to live. Heartbreak, betrayal, angry bears and wolves (literal and figurative), all accompany Margo, Bane, and Jon as they travel across the EuroBloc towards their only hope--Vatican Free State.

Sequel to I AM MARGARET. This is not really a standalone sequel, so read the other first (I didn't, and I know there were things I'm missing.)
This is a Catholic dystopian novel and the world it presents is disturbing at best and terrifying in some moments.
Ends on a cliffhanger; apparently Corinna Turner has more stories planned.
Good for teens and young adults.
Some editing issues stand in the way of my giving this book a better rating.
