Pretty good, I enjoyed the plot, the world and most of the secondary characters. The main character, her love interest and their romance were lacking though. There was also some parts at the end that felt a little rushed and unrealistic.
-Misty was an okay enough protagonist. She was pretty much the typical bland YA heroine, only not as insufferable as most. She had a do goody personality, she didn't think she was beautiful but she was, she had zero experience with guys, and she acted like a hormonal twit as soon as she saw her love interest - it was the same old, same old. There was nothing really interesting or complex about her. She needed some depth and flaws, her blurting out all sorts of rubbish and being insecure about her love interest just wasn't good enough.
-Didn't like Alex much, he was stuck up, smug, and mean. He really didn't deserve Misty, he more or less said he would never date her because she was ugly, embarrassing and not good enough for him. Him saying he didn't mean it later didn't excuse his horrid remarks.
He got worse throughout the book, when he found out she was his soulmate he was happy for all of five seconds and then he wasn't even bothered about her. It was like he was more interested in his friends and creepy uncle than the person who was meant to be his other half.
-Alex was Misty's first priority, nothing else mattered to her, but she definitely wasn't his, he was more concerned about himself and his needs. It was pretty obvious he didn't feel as much for Misty as she did for him, all he did was push her away, ignore her and feel ashamed and annoyed by her. He was such a lame, wishy-washy love interest.
-I despised Alex's mum, she was a total bitch abandoning him and choosing her racist-bastard-pathetic husband over him. She abandoned Alex at age three because he had powers like her and she thought her husband would hurt him if he found out. Why didn't the silly cow leave her husband instead of her son? Why did she love and choose a man who would happily reject and beat their own son? Why didn't she tell her husband that she had powers too and try to make him understand that having them wasn't evil?!
Ugh, she didn't love Alex at all, she only cared about herself, her husband and other son. She was a selfish fucker, she didn't deserve any kind of happiness.
-The resolution at the end between Alex and his mum was so unrealistic and rushed. After thirteen years of abandonment Alex should have been resentful and bitter, not grateful and desperate. But nope, after a lame apology and explanation that lasted all of two seconds everything was forgiven and he was calling her mum. Ugh, he was daft to let her in his life and excuse her all the unforgivable things she did.
If she had really loved Alex she would have left her wanker husband instead of dumping him. Why Alex would want to have a mother/son relationship with her when she wouldn't ever love him as much as her husband or other son, I don't know. She was a horrid bitch, she could have easily found another solution to her problems without ripping away Alex from his family and leaving him to be raised by any old psycho. Ugh, she made me sick.
-Roger was the worst, he had no redeemable qualities whatsoever. It was his fault that his brother, Johan, grew up to be a serial killer and that Alex grew up with no home or family. At least Alex's mum felt guilty for the part she played but Roger didn't feel guilty for all the hurt and mayhem he caused. Johan was a far more sympathetic and likeable character than him even though he was a remorseless serial killer. I really wish Roger had suffered.
-I was so irritated with Alex's reaction to his parents, it was ridiculous of him to forgive and forget everything. Why would he want people like that in his life? His mum chose his dad over him, and his dad showed nothing but disgust towards him. Alex's brother was the only one that deserved a chance, he should have cut the rest out of his life.
-Loved Misty's friendship with Summer and Angel, it was one of the best aspects of the book. Her relationship with her family was good too, it was refreshing that she had close female friends and a normal family instead of the usual female-hating heroine with a sob story of a crappy family.
-I got tired of Misty constantly apologising to Alex, she hadn't done anything wrong yet all she did was apologise for things she wasn't at fault for. It was Alex's fault she was kidnapped and almost killed, yet she was the one apologising to him. It should have been the other way around, since it was his crazy family that was responsible for all the crap that happened. I'm really bored of all the overly apologetic, martyr-type heroines.
-Loved most of the secondary characters, especially the new ones (Summer, Angel, Tarryn, Misty's younger cousins). The savant world and powers were also really good, it was fun and easy to immerse into.
-Liked the serial killer investigation, it did get slightly predictable at times but it was still pretty entertaining.
-Liked that the Benedicts took more of a back-seat, and other families were explored.
-I wouldn't mind reading a Victor or Summer book at some point. Well, as long as Victor doesn't become cliched or Summer doesn't turn out to be another inexperienced, goody-goody Mary Sue.

I was worried that I wouldn't enjoy this book as I did the previous three. When I read Finding Sky, Stealing Phoenix and Seeking Crystal I was the same age as the three girls. Now that I'm 21 and Misty is doing her A-levels I was anxious that Misty's POV would seem childish to me but I'm glad to say I really enjoyed her POV and could not put the book down!

I absolutely looooove this series !!!!! I am so glad that I've discovered the Benedicts! Even if the series is a bit predictable and sometimes cliché you can't help but love them. Especially when you're particularly fond of no love triangle books, I am a hater of love triangles, can't stand 'em, so for me this series is like a balm for my peace of mind.
I loved Misty and Alex in this one, also loved the love between all of the other characters, the plot was also interesting. I love how in each book the bad guy is different. With every book in the series they solve another case so it's interesting and keeps the boredom away.
Can't wait to read about other characters and how they find their 'soulfinder'!!!!

I have been waiting what seems like forever for this book, but to be honest I had no idea which character were involved until I started reading. Joss Stirling is on my auto-buy list, so when I saw this was up for pre-order I didn't even bother to read the blurb, I just bought it. I also may have jumped around a little when it arrived earlier than I expected too!
Anyway, when I finally received my copy, and read the blurb, I was slightly disappointed that the Benedict Brothers weren't looking for their Soulfinders, but rather we meet Misty and Alex. However, I really should know by now that Joss wouldn't leave us without the Benedict boys--after all I have read every books she's ever released and if I could only say one thing, it'd be that she is consistent with her characters and gives the readers what they want. So, because of this, it means the Benedict Brothers are featured a lot in the story due to the fact Misty is Crystal's (Xav's Soulfinder) niece. There also happens to be a Savant serial killer on the loose, which means the Benedicts are in usual mystery solving mode.
I love how the book started and I was so happy for Uriel! He's the one Benedict I really wanted more from so I'm glad he featured more prominently in Misty Falls. Similarly, I also found myself growing to like Alex. Of course, I was wary of him at the start due to him being totally separate from the usual crowds in the Savant books, but he grew on me and I thought his development throughout made him endearing. You could sympathise with his situation, but you also end up admiring him for the tough choices he has to make in the end. Moreover, I liked Misty's character. The fact that she can't lie, and people can't lie around her, gave the book a humourous element at times when it got people in trouble, but it was also an interesting strain on new and old relationships.
A part from the characters, I really liked the overall story. It has a bit of mystery, danger, action, and romance all thrown into one, and it's everything you come to expect from this author. I will admit that I found the killer a little predictable and thought there were a few issues with characters being too trusting, but honestly? I don't really care. By the time I figured it out, I was too engaged with the book to let it put me off, and I couldn't stop reading.
Overall, a great read! I would highly recommend any book by this author.

Misty’s Savant gift means that she can never tell a lie, which leads to her always getting into trouble. When going to South Africa to help Uriel Benedict find his Soul Finder, Misty meets the charming Alex, and is determined that she should keep her distance. However, the Savant world is in danger as a serial killer who is targeting young Savants and no one is safe.
Misty Falls is a good sequel which has action, suspense and a quick pace. However, it is a bit predictable and the romance was nowhere near as good as the previous books.
Misty was a nice character who has always felt a bit of a misfit, and easy to relate to but she is similar to other YA heroines. I just could not like Alex much as, especially in the beginning he was very smug, rude to Misty and I just did not trust him. It did not get better as the book went on as Misty obviously cared him more than he did and it seemed that he did not think about her feelings.
This book is not as good as the first 3 Benedict books but still enjoyable, and I hope Stirling writes a book about Victor as I think it would be really good. I would recommend Misty Falls to fans of the first 3 books.

Es ist schon eine Weile her, dass ich die Macht der Seelen Bücher von Joss Stirling gelesen habe und obwohl ich mich sehr gefreut hab, als ich erfahren habe, dass es weitergehen wird, hatte ich doch auch ein wenig... Angst. Nein, Angst ist das falsche Wort, nennen wir es "Bedenken". Je mehr man liest, desto kritischer wird man. Das ist leider der Fall und ich dachte, dass es mir mit Misty Falls so gehen würde, dass ich es weniger mag als die Vorgänger, weil ich bei den Vorgängern weniger kritisch war. Ich kann allerdings sagen: Das war nicht der Fall.
Die Bücher von Joss Stirling haben so ein wenig den Ruf kitschig zu sein, woran die Cover und die ganze Seelenspiegel Sache nicht ganz unschuldig sind. Und ja, ein bisschen Kitsch ist da schon vorhanden, allerdings kein so extremer wie man vielleicht vermuten könnte. Im vierten Teil haben wir mal wieder eine kleine Hassliebe am Start und zwar zwischen Misty und Alex, deren erstes Aufeinandertreffen damit endet, dass Misty Alex im Tischtennis abzieht und Alex daraufhin seinen Freunden gegenüber verkündet, Misty wäre das letzte Mädchen, das er daten würde. Klingt hart, war es für Mist auch, aber trotzdem haben mir beide Charaktere gefallen. Besonders Misty als Protagonistin war schlagfertig und vor allem witzig und ihre Gabe der Wahrheit sorgte für jede Menge sehr amüsante Szenen.
Auch super gefallen hat mir, dass durch Mistys nicht-savantischen (Wortneuschöpfung xD) Vater einige Konflikte aufgegriffen wurden, die sehr relevant sind und die in den Vorgängern teils auch zu kurz kamen. Auch wenn es hier nicht um einen Benedict geht (obwohl Uriel hier seinen Seelenspiegel findet), kommen sie doch alle in der Geschichte vor ;) Also Leute: Ihr kommt schon auf eure Kosten.

Da war meiner Meinung nach ziemlich viel drin, dass man hätte rausnehmen können, weil es nicht so eine große Rolle für den Plot gespielt hat. Auch bin ich ja bekanntlich kein Freund diese ganzen "Mysteriöse Morde... Jugendliche verschwinden" Plotlinien, auch weil man irgendwo immer schon weiß, wer dafür verantwortlich ist. Andererseits hat mich das Ende hier durchaus überraschen und auch überzeugen können! Es war mal wieder super spannend und toll gestaltet und hat mich über den Mittelteil irgendwie auch hinwegtrösten können.

Vielleicht liegt es auch mit daran, dass sich die Geschichten nun einmal immer sehr ähneln. Aber solange die Autorin weiterhin so coole Gaben erschafft und die Liebesgeschichten einem das Herz aufgehen lassen, werde ich die Reihe wohl auch weiterhin lesen.

Reseñado en mi blog Nanny Books
Esta saga me encanta... Bien, los hermanos Benedict me encantan (estoy enamorada de Victor). Así que tuve una pequeña decepción cuando me di cuenta de lo poco que estaban apareciendo. Sin embargo, a mitad de la novela todo remonta, agarra ese ritmo tan peculiar que tiene y... aparece mi Victor, jajaja.
Misty es una chica que desborda sinceridad, es incapaz de mentir y obliga (con su don) a decir la verdad a todos los que la rodean. Bajo esta premisa, se encaminará a Ciudad del Cabo acompañada de un Benedict para que él encuentre su alma gemela. Así es, ella no es tan afortunada como para ganarse la lotería del amor (ganarse uno de estos hermanos tan buenorros)... Pero algo de romance también ligará.
La lectura te atrapa, te hace reír mucho y también suspirar un montón. Es imposible no congeniar con Misty y sus momentos caóticos. El galán, Alex, también es lindo, pero no es mi tipo para nada. Desborda carisma y me parece el complemento perfecto para ella. Como siempre, los personajes de las novelas anteriores (los hermanos y sus almas gemelas) tendrán su pequeña contribución y engalanarán las escenas. Aquí ya se corre el peligro de que las cosas queden forzadas, pero Stirling sabe saltar el obstáculo y hacer una trama muy interesante que tiene un gran misterio que resolver y que nos muestra lo bueno y lo malo de tener un alma gemela.
No se ha convertido en mi novela favorita de la saga, pero he disfrutado mucho con la lectura. No puedo evitar la sensación de que se están "quemando" las historias de los Benedict detrás de otras historias que no lucen tanto. Ya había pasado algo así con Crystal, en donde se encuentran dos almas gemelas en el mismo tomo. Espero que no hagan lo mismo con Victor, con el cual tengo el presentimiento de que es el próximo en caer (o así lo espero, jajaja).
Esta novela la leí de un tirón, me enganchó desde el comienzo (aunque no era lo que esperaba) y me gustó mucho. No creo que sea la mejor de la saga, pero me alegro de que Stirling sepa mantener el estilo (algo muy difícil si contamos que ya es el cuarto libro). ¡Estoy deseando conocer qué pasará en el próximo libro!

Tras mis últimas lecturas con redacción más elaborada, esta novela ha sido refrescante. Como siempre con la saga Savant, las historias son sencillas, fluidas y entretenidas. Lectura liviana de verano para capear el calor y el aburrimiento. Este libro en particular, me gustó. Con Misty, la protagonista, tenemos en común la torpeza social derivada de no mentir y el miedo a las alturas. Esa escena en el muro de escalada nos acercó mucho!!! Como toda la saga, te expone conflictos adolescentes dónde los sentimentales están muy centrales. Esta chica que no puede mentir es adorable, aunque si me la encontrara, probablemente la odiaría. Su alma gemela, al igual que los Benedict, es un prototipo masculino bastante estereotipado, defecto perdonable de la saga porque está dirigida a adolescentes. Que levante la mano el que en su adolescencia buscaba sólo belleza interior en el sexo opuesto!!! Como sea, este libro se puede leer en horas, hace reír e intriga hasta el desenlace. #misty #sagasavant #jossstirling

The Benedict series by Joss Stirling is one of my favourite YA paranormal series so I hate that it’s taken me this long to get to Misty Falls – it’s definitely the case of too many books, so little time. But I’m really glad I took the time to catch up with the series because it reminds me just why this is one of my favourite series.
Misty Falls is about Misty, a teenage girl who has a Savant gift for truth-telling. She can never tell a lie and her gift can also extends to the people around her. So without complete control of her gift sometimes it gets a little out of control – which was see more than once in the story. And although it shouldn’t have been fun, at times it was fun to read because although we always encourage people to tell the truth, sometimes little white lies don’t hurt. I did feel sorry for Misty at times because you can see her struggles with her gift. It makes almost every day life hard for her so I definitely felt bad for her.
I loved when Misty meets Alex because she doesn’t immediately recognise him as her soulfinder. And if you’re wondering what a soulfinder is it’s the other half a savant. Almost like soulmates but more intensive and with special gifts involved too. The two characters almost seem at war with one another and neither can understand why. I love the added suspense to the story and how it’s not an immediate connection. Alex though is a little hard to love at times though. Just because he is so guarded but that’s down to his troubled past which once we discover, I’m guessing anyone could see why he is the way he is.
Uriel Benedict’s story is also an added bonus. I love the Benedict family and I was sad to see they would only be secondary characters in the next three books but Stirling did a good job with making them a big part of the story still so the readers don’t feel like we’re missing out on too much with them.
Misty Falls isn’t just about the two people finding each other it’s also about the troubles that come with being a savant. And in this case it’s about humans trying to expose the savants but by twisting what their really about and trying to claim they are the bad people. It added to the danger and excitement of the story and also brings new twists to the savant world.
So if you’re looking for a new YA paranormal series to read then I’d highly recommend this series. And although each book could be read as a stand-alone, I’d highly recommend you start with book one – Finding Sky because why wouldn’t you want to start right at the beginning to see where it all began?

Misty ist ein Savant. Ihre besondere Begabung erlaubt es anderen nicht zu lügen - und auch sie muss die Wahrheit sagen. Diese erzwungene Ehrlichkeit bringt ihr aber nur Mobbing ein.
Zum Glück hat sie ihre Savant-Freundinnen Summer und Angel, auf die sie zählen kann.
Als sie dem Benedict-Bruder Uriel, den Schwager ihrer Tante Crystal, nach Afrika begleitet, damit dieser seinen Seelenspiegel finden kann, begegnet sie dem gutaussehenden Alex. Ist er wirklich ihr Seelenspiegel?
Das ist jetzt schon der 4. Teil der "Macht der Seelen"-Reihe. Nachdem es eine Zeit lang hieß, das nach Band 3 Schluß ist, habe ich mich um so mehr gefreut, dass doch noch ein Teil (und im englischen sogar bald ein 5.!) erscheint.
Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Bänden geht es aber nicht mehr vorrangig um die Benedict-Brüder. So ist Mistys die Tochter von Crystal's Schwester. Mistys Freundinnen werden wohl ihren Seelenspiegel in den nächsten Bänden finden.
Die Story ist wie gewohnt locker und leicht - zumindest bis es, wie in den anderen Bände, zu einem kleinen Krimi/Thriller-Anteil kommt. Dieses Mal geht es um einen Mörder, der selber Savant ist und andere Savants tötet. Diese "zweite" Storyline nimmt aber erst ab der Hälfte der Story zu.
Am Anfang geht es um Uriel, der seinen Seelenspiegel in Kapstadt sucht. Dann erst richtig um Misty und Alex, die sich durch Uriels Seelenspiegelsuche kennen lernen. Am Anfang scheinen sich die beiden nicht leiden zu können, besonders da Mistys Gabe Alex' er kann Leute dazu bringen, das zu tun, was er sagt) blockiert, aber dann müssen sie feststellen, dass sie Seelenspiegel sind. Wie gewohnt, ist das sehr kitschig und dieses mal wie in Band 1 ein bisschen unglaubwürdig, aber irgendwie lese ich die Reihe trotzdem gerne :)
Was in diesem Band mal thematisiert wird, ist eine Alternative zum Seelenspiegel: So ist Mistys Vater ein Mensch, ihre Mutter aber ein Savant. Und dass der Seelenspiegel auch vom gleichen Geschlecht sein kann.
Das Cover ist einfach top. Es passt zu den anderen Bänden, aber statt Rose-Farben, dominiert jetzt der graue Farbton.
Jeder der eine süße Liebesgeschicht, gewürzt mit ein bisschen Thrill lesen will, liegt bei Joss Stirlings Bücher immer richtig :)

Al principio me cayó muuuuy mal Misty, tanto que pensé que iba a terminar odiándola, se la pasaba quejándose de ella misma que no, simplemente no la soportaba. Después odié la manera en que conoció a Alex y la forma en que se cayeron tan mal. Sin embargo, es una historia de Joss Stirling y eso ya es suficiente para que quiera leerla de principio a fin.
Después la cosa empezó a tomar forma y honestamente me enganché con la novela, tanto que lo terminé de madrugada y eso que me tocaba trabajar al día siguiente. Creo que la autora consigue rescatar a sus personajes y el romance entre Misty y Alex comienza a brillar. Pero lo mejor de todo es el villano. Desde saber su historia y el por qué es como es, hasta lo que hace y cómo termina. Definitivamente lo mejor de Misty son esos capítulos finales que la rescatan y la dejan con mejor puntuación de la que pensaba. Y Misty, por supuesto que consigue caerme mejor al final.

I just can't get enough of Joss Stirling! I woke up at 3am to make sure this had downloaded...and then couldn't wait to start reading it. I told myself I would give myself over to it for an hour...at 5:30 I had to stop reading because I needed at least an hour's sleep before work!
Got back from work and finished it!
It was different to the Benedict series, but still worth it. In this case the heroine suffers from a case of 'tell no lies' which gets her into lots of trouble, but when her soulfinder happens to be a charmer (white lies/half-truths) whose ability to charm is seriously hampered by her 'gift', things are not as easy as they should be.
The Benedicts and their love interests are still on the scene, and it was nice to see the characters from previous books.
Can't wait for the next offering.

Thankyou Joss Stirling for writing another great Savant-story! I loved it! As did I with the last three books, so this wasn't a disappointment. I love the way Misty struggles with her gift at the beginning of the book, but gets better at handeling it through the story. And Alex... Where do I begin? Being an asshole in the beginning but turning out so sweet... That's really something I loved about this story.
Oh and then there are the Benedicts and their soulfinders... Damn I hadn't realised how much I had missed them. An amazing and enjoyable story filled with humor, romance, mystery and anxiety, that's how I would describe Misty Falls.
I'm glad there's another book in this series, because I'm not ready yet to let go of this world.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK!!
Joss Stirling is one of my fave writers and she did not disappoint me with this book!
I've been looking forward to this book since I finished Seeking Crystal and I was happy to see a lot of benedicts back in this story! I'm happy that we once again saw how the gifts of soulfinders can be super strong together and I was addicted since page 1, I couldn't stop reading.
Misty and Alex were adorable and just like the other couples they have this little place in my heart.
This book made me wanna re-read all the other savant books and I can't wait till Angel Dares comes out!

This book was not for me.
The male love interest was dreadful - truly a horrible person towards the female lead. I cannot get behind a romance between a girl and a dreadful man who is a bully.
There were multiple odd interactions between children and adults that were sexually inappropriate (I'm thinking of that female reporter toward Alex and Misty/Uriel on the plane.) The interaction between Alex and Misty's father was also equally odd.
The serial killer threat is so creepy but then the tension was abandoned it became such an odd plot point. The book became very predictable - I think the earlier books in this series were much stronger, especially the first book. I won't be continuing on with the series but I had fun reading the first few!

September 24, 2024Mam straszny problem z ocenieniem tej części na tle poprzednich, bo wydaje się ona jednocześnie lepsza i gorsza na raz, jakimś cudem.
Z plusów:
- Nie ma tu prawie w ogóle instant love, za co chwała bogom, a bohaterowie mają okazję się poznać.
- Dostajemy wgląd w świat sawantów, który wreszcie nie skupia się tylko na Benedictach, chwała bogom again
- Kinda ciekawy wątek kryminalny z dość ciekawym tłem psychologicznym
Z minusów:
- Alex jest strasznie narcystyczny, a Misty jest w niego zapatrzona jak w obrazek
Teoretycznie szala przechyla się na korzyść tej książki, ale ja już naprawdę mam dość toksycznych i zaborczych facetów, którzy wiedzą lepiej.

Acabo de terminar este libro, y pues fue lo que esperaba. Me gusta la historia, me gusta que los libros cuenten diferentes historias, de los diferentes hermanos y familiares, pero siento que siempre pasa lo mismo, o sea no siento un gran cambio en las historias, solo tal vez las personalidades de algunos personajes.
A pesar de que en algún momento se vuelve un poco lento y, no se si aburrido, pero si repetitivo, pues me gusta como se han desarrollado las historias.
Le doy 3.5 estrellas. 🤠

Sin recordar mucho de los anteriores, esperaba que Misty me entretuviese (Sky y Cristal me gustaron), sin embargo, esta vez me molestó lo aceleradas que resultan ciertas cosas. De las 3 amigas, creo que la historia de Summer es la que más me gustará porque está vinculada a Victor, y bueno, es el Benedict más interesante de la pandilla.

Siempre es un placer leer un libro de esta hermosa saga. Sinceramente yo pensé que iba a terminar todo en Crystal, pero cuando me entere que iban a seguir saliendo libros me alegre mucho ya que amo estos libros, este mundo y sus personajes. Me decepciono un poco saber que en este libro ninguno de los hermanos Benedict's seria el protagonista, pero igual no me importa mucho ya que sabia que iban a aparecer, ya que pertenecen a la misma familia de la protagonista. Al principio pensé que no me iba a gustar tanto como los otros ya que comienza un poco lento (comparado con los demás), pero después cada vez se fue poniendo mas bueno y me gusto un montón! No se compara con el resto, pero igualmente me encanto.
En cuanto a los personajes, Misty fue uno que me gusto un montón. Me encantaba el hecho de que fuera tan sincera y frontal (aunque fuera por su poder). Ademas de que su personalidad me encantaba, y entendía perfectamente sus inseguridades. Creo que es una de mis protagonistas favoritas de todos estos libros! Alex fue un chico que al principio me rechinaba un poco por su actitud tan sobradora y superficial, aunque esto obviamente se veía afectada por su poder que era el encanto, pero era como agg. Y mas con las actitudes que tenia con Misty al principio, quería matarlo. Pero luego cuando se sabe lo de su alma gemela y todo ese rollo, y Alex aclara el porque de esas actitudes que tenia hacia Misty, se me paso. No podía evitar quererlo! Y mas después por todo lo que hace & lo que se preocupara por Misty (a pesar de los problemillas que hubieron). Me encanto esta pareja!!
Summer y Angel las amigas de Misty me agradaron muchísimo también, me encantaba la relación que tenían con Misty y que a pesar del problema que tenia Misty de ser tan sincera y todo eso fueran tan fiel con ella. A parte que me hacían reír en un montón de situaciones!! Me hubiese gustado que participaran un poco mas en el libro, pero igual estuvo bien. También los amigos de Alex, que aunque no se le dio mucha relevancia me agradaron bastante porque como trataban a Misty y por sus comportamientos! Sobre la familia Benedict en general no queda mucho que decir ya que se sabe que amo a esta familia, y mas que nada a los divinos de los hermanos y a sus increíbles almas gemelas. El único que me molesto fue el padre de Misty, agg. Me enojaba mucho todos los reproches y cosas que le decía a Misty, y yo se que la quería y todo pero a veces no parecía. Aparte el sabiendo que no es un savant y casándose con una chica que si lo es tenia que asumir que las cosas iban a cambiar, y tenia que aceptarlo. Y el que no lo aceptara no hacia mas que enojarme. Y terminando ... el tío de Alex. A verrr, con todo el tema del asesino que andaba vuelta, que viniera de la nada un supuesto tío de Alex NUNCA me genero buena espina. Y a pesar de que Misty pudiera ver que el no mentía, por como se comportaba y por su actitud ... mmm, no hacia mas que parece sospechoso para MI.
Me gusto un montón la trama de este libro, y toda la curiosidad que rondaba por saber quien era el asesino y como hacia todo sin dejar ni una pista ni nada. Era OBVIO que iban a agarrar al menos esperado, obviamente a Misty. Me ponía los nervios de punta un montón de situaciones de cuando ella esta secuestrada que aaaaaaaaa mierda hsfajfgjsd. Llego un momento que ya ni sabia como se iban a salir de todo eso. Y CASI ME DA ALGO CUANDO
Todo el tema de la familia de Alex era bastante complicada, a la madre digamos que la comprendí pero igualmente esa no era la única manera de hacer las cosas, el hermanito me caí bien y el padre me sacaba de quicio. Pero me puso muy feliz que Alex pudiera terminar con su familia!! Y el final como siempre en estos libros, es hermoso, me encanta. Espero con ansias el próximo!!
Siempre es un placer leer un libro de esta hermosa saga. Sinceramente yo pensé que iba a terminar todo en Crystal, pero cuando me entere que iban a seguir saliendo libros me alegre mucho ya que amo estos libros, este mundo y sus personajes. Me decepciono un poco saber que en este libro ninguno de los hermanos Benedict's seria el protagonista, pero igual no me importa mucho ya que sabia que iban a aparecer, ya que pertenecen a la misma familia de la protagonista. Al principio pensé que no me iba a gustar tanto como los otros ya que comienza un poco lento (comparado con los demás), pero después cada vez se fue poniendo mas bueno y me gusto un montón! No se compara con el resto, pero igualmente me encanto.

Das Buch ist der vierte Band der Macht der Seelen Reihe (im Original "Benedicts" Reihe). Ich habe alle anderen Bände gelesen und kann sie nur jedem ans Herz legen, aber man kann das Buch auch ohne dieses Vorwissen lesen, da die Welt noch einmal erklärt wird und die beiden Hauptcharaktere neu sind. Natürlich trifft man aber auf viele altbekannte und geliebte Charaktere und ich finde so etwas immer sehr schön.
Inhaltlich geht es wieder um die Savantwelt. Savants sind Menschen mit besonderen Fähigkeiten. Misty, die Hauptperson, kann zum Beispiel nur die Wahrheit sagen, aber erkennt auch Lügen und ihre Gabe hat noch andere Seiten. Erst dachte ich, dass dies eine eher langweilige Gabe ist und mir Misty wegen dieser eher leid tut. Im Laufe der Geschichte änderte sich dann aber meine Meinung. Ich möchte hier aber nichts verraten. Misty ist von ihrem ganzen Verhalten her recht jung. Am Anfang des Buches reist sie für einen Besuch nach Südafrika und lernt dort Alex, den männlichen Hauptcharakter, kennen. Ihre Gaben kollidieren etwas, was durchaus interessant ist. Er hat die Fähigkeit Leute mit seinem Charme einzuwickeln. Auch wenn man das jetzt denken könnte, so ist Alex nicht der typische Machoheld aus Jugendbüchern. Er ist eher von der netten, nicht abgehobenen Art, was wirklich mal erfrischend war. Auch vor einem nervigen Liebesdreieck braucht man sich nicht fürchten. Richtig toll fand ich wieder die Familiengeschichten. Leider steht die Benedictfamilie nicht wie ich es vermutet hatte im Vordergrund. Das fand ich sehr schade, obwohl man immer wieder verschiedene Familienmitglieder antrifft. Allerdings gibt es andere interessante Familiengeschichte, die mich wieder ans Buch gefesselt haben.
Der Schreibstil ist der Grund warum ich dem Buch 'nur' 4 Sterne gebe. Zum einen fand ich, dass die Dialoge der Jugendlichen einfach nicht jugendlich waren. Sie benutzten Wörter und einen Satzbau, den normale Jugendliche eher nicht benutzten. Dafür war der restliche Schreibstil dann eher einfach. Außerdem gab es vor allem in den ersten zwei Dritteln doch einige Längen und erst das letzte Drittel war dann wirklich packend und spannend.
Die Spannung im letzten Drittel war wirklich toll. Ich konnte das Buch nicht mehr weglegen und fühlte sehr mit den Protagonisten mit. Ich hätte auch nicht damit gerechnet wer der Bösewicht ist und in was für einem Ausmaß das alles noch ausartete. Überhaupt waren die Spannungsmomente mit dem Bösewicht echt packend und genial geschrieben. Und wie dann die verschiedenen Fähigkeiten der Savants eingesetzt wurden, um den Bösewicht zu besiegen, war ebenfalls richtig toll geschrieben.
Die Charaktere waren interessant und hatten genügend Tiefe, dass man richtig mit ihnen mitfühlte. Die Liebesgeschichte bzw. die Liebesgeschichten waren teilweise etwas zu viel des guten und wirkten etwas kitschig, aber das gehört halt bei Savants dazu. Die Hauptliebesgeschichte zwischen Misty und Alex war aber wirklich schön geschrieben.

Aber der Spannungsteil im letzten Drittel war total packend und mitreißend. Die Savants waren wieder sehr interessant und ihre Fähigkeiten wurden super in die Story integriert. Gerade wo es um den Kampf gegen den Bösewicht ging, waren die Fähigkeiten wieder sehr hilfreich und wurden überraschend genutzt. Fans der Reihe dürfen diesen Teil auf keinen Fall auslassen und Jugendbuchleser, die es gern auch etwas kitschig mögen, sollten auch unbedingt zugreifen!

Como siempre, disfruto mucho de los libros de Joss y aunque este libro no es mi favorito, me gustó igual.
Joss sabe contar una historia que te mantiene pegada a sus páginas, puesto que sus historias contienen varios elementos que hacen una lectura fácil y que se disfruta. Sin embargo este fue el libro que menos me gustó de la saga Finding Love o Benedicts.
Misty fue un personaje que me gustó a medias, es decir en partes me agradaba y en partes se me hacía un poco pesada y como la historia está narrada en primera persona pues se me hizo una lectura lenta y de hecho me tarde casi tres días en leerlo cosa rara porque siempre me leo estos libros en uno o como mucho dos días.
Alex se me hizo un personaje un tanto plano, tenía sus momentos pero ciertamente me sentí muy ajena a este personaje, lo cuál nunca me paso con los personajes masculinos anteriores.
El romance estuvo pasable porque la mitad del libro se odian y no se soportan y luego se dan cuenta que son almas gemelas, además que por como se desarrolla la historia no tienen demasiado contacto y lo poco que tienen en su mayor parte es sobre ellos odiandose mutuamente. No se me hizo muy al estilo de Joss y tal vez por eso también se me hizo muy largo el libro, porque en su mayor parte se trataba de Misty y sus problemas de autoestima.
Ahora que el libro se pone mejor después de la mitad y esa parte de la historia se me hizo muy buena y me la leí super rápido y esa parte del libro sí se me hizo muy Joss y me gustó mucho toda la parte del misterio y de problema que envuelve a Misty y a Alex. También estuvo la parte en que Uriel encuentra a su alma gemela y aunque no cuenta mucho sobre ellos pues se me hizo muy chistoso como se encuentran.
Honestamente, al enterarme de que Joss iba a escribir más historias sobre el mundo de los savant me esperaba que fuera sobre todos los hermanos Benedicts, porque ame la historia de Zed, de Yves y de Will y la verdad me decepcionó un poco que no fuera sobre ellos porque sí que Trenton y Uriel ya tiene a sus parejas pero los Benedicts al estar tan relacionados con el mundo de la policía y la parte criminal siento que Joss hubiera escrito unas historias de 10 con los hermanos Benedicts.
En fin que este libro me gustó pero no es de mis favoritos de Joss. Los tres primeros me gustaron un motón pero creo que ya no estoy tan emocionada con los que siguen en esta saga, me los leeré porque Joss siempre me hace disfrutar de sus libros y su otra saga (Struck) Me gusta un montón también, pero pues a ver como avanza la saga de Finding love.
