Full Moon Dating #4

Gage and Hamish

Rate this book
Cat shifter Gage is an impossible bottom. No one has ever been able to tame him, even if he wants them to. He’s willing to keep trying, though, and when he finds out about the paranormal dating site Full Moon Dating, he puts himself in their hands. He longs for someone who will take him in hand and make him like it.

Hamish is a bear shifter who plays too rough for most subs. Gage sounds like just what he needs, so when Full Moon matches them up, he’s happy to see how they get along. Can he convince Gage that he’s the one to make the man toe the line?

I liked the kink factor even though Gage is a bit of a brat and that's ordinarily a drawback. I also like Hamish being a bear shifter and a bit of a lumber sexual.

I think it's probably a disadvantage for me to have read this entire series back to back because they are very formulaic.

Boy meets boy. They eat. They go back to the bigger shifter's house and boink. Then fall in instalove. The end. Insert Gage (jaguar shifter) and Hamish (grizzly bear shifter) who are paired this time by Ades and her gut instinct again. This couple is apparently a bad idea. I'm not sure why. They seem like a natural fit to me. Stir in some spanking and bondage and voilà! Welcome to instalove, boys.

Only this one didn't have as much of the cute stuff as the previous two nor did I think it did as good a job showcasing their animalistic tendencies.

The conflict had more meat on its bones than the rest of the series, but there wasn't enough page time for me to invest in the instalove.

It's not porny enough for me to categorize it as PWP. Then again I may not be the best judge. *side eyes*

It's mostly fluffy brain candy. Enjoyable and quick.

The Full Moon staff offer the glue and Ades offered the best line in the series so far:

“The bear and the kitty. They’re blissfully happy in pain slut land, living the spanky life.”

Spank on, shifters!

Spank on.

3.5 Stars Gage and Hamish is actually the first book in this series that I’ve read. They are each stand-alones, really, connected by the dating agency that brings the characters together, so they can also be read in any order. I am a fan of this author’s Bloodrose series, so I jumped at the chance to read this.

Gage is a high-strung cat shifter who is more than a pushy bottom. He cannot seem to find the right guy to dominate him and give him what he needs. To that end, he contacts Full Moon Dating to hopefully find a shifter who matches up with him.

Hamish is a bear shifter who appears to be a big cuddly teddy bear, but really he likes things a bit rough, and he’s also had a hard time finding the right partner. Everyone thinks he’s a big marshmallow, and no one seems to take him seriously. He contacts Full Moon Dating also hoping for a match.

Gage and Hamish meet for dinner at a sushi place, and they really hit it off. They enjoy their meal and decide to go for a walk when they run into trouble. They manage to escape and end up at Hamish’s house. Gage is skeptical and tries to fight Hamish, but it turns out Hamish knows exactly what Gage needs, and he’s determined to give it to him. What follows is a very hot encounter that leave both feeling quite satisfied.

No spoilers, but let’s say the path to an HEA is not so smooth and straight forward for these two, but this is definitely one hot and wild ride. Gage is not easily won, and Hamish has to work for his kitty. :) There is also plenty of fun and snarky banter to keep things lively.

I really liked this short and very hot story – so much so that I promptly went out and bought the rest of the stories in this series. I’d recommend this one for anyone who likes an erotic short story with an HEA.

A delicious and decadent addition to the spicy ‘Full Moon Dating’ series, this episodic adventure of Hamish, a bear shifter, and Gage, a jaguar shifter, is both adorable and smoking hot. I gobbled down this tasty treat that reveals the story of a troublesome young submissive meeting his match in the unlikely form of a cuddly but dominant bear.

Arriving on his date, Gage is fairly dismissive about Hamish being able to fulfill any of his needs, but he’s a polite kitty and plus there’s food, so he stays on the date and finds that the cute bear satisfies Gage in a way he’s never before experienced. Feeling vulnerable and impossibly stimulated, Gage runs from his feelings and Hamish. But soon the bear Dom is hot on his heels…at a gentle, leisurely and just perfect for Gage, pace.

I always enjoy the ‘Full Moon Dating’ stories. I get to be a fly on the wall of some very unusual first dates with some extremely, exotic and erotic pairings. Plus the author has a wonderful gift for melding marvelous animal nuances to her very human shifters, especially her cat shifters. All of the stories in the series are invigorating, well-written shorts, and are especially great when I want a lighthearted, snack-sized, steamy hot read.

Thank you, Julia Talbot, for this nifty new tale and for the adorable cattiness of Gage most especially!

“Cuddly, Sparkling, and Sizzling with a side of Yummy!”

Cat shifter Gage likes to control the action from a submissive position. Hamish is a bear shifter who appears to be a gentle giant, but appearances can be deceiving, much to the delight of Gage.

Gage and Hamish are part of the Full Moon Dating series. The paranormal dating service has an excellent record for successful matches, even if the species seem to be unlikely mates. Gage and Hamish had given up on finding a mate on their own, so the service is their chance for finding happiness.

Gage is looking for someone who will allow Gage to give vent to his fighting instinct and still be strong enough to subdue Gage with the pain/pleasure sensations he craves. Hamish delights in being the one in total control. The rougher the play he inflicts on Gage, the more gratification they both gain.

Julia Talbot has created an enjoyable addition to the series. The main theme is romance; however there is a touch of drama to this amusing plot.

Four stars!
This series is just so much fun! I have to keep reading because I smile at the story and characters. Gage and Hamish are so like their animals. They work well together, after they get through Gage’s issues. Hamish knows exactly how to handle Gage. I love how Gage goes to Hamish when he needs it the most. So sweet their happy for now. There’s a scene right at the end that gives more of a hint about Harve and Stone, two of the Full Moon Dating guys. Plus there’s a teaser about the next book. I can’t wait to read that one too!

Cat shifter Gage is a bottom with a problem. No one seems to be able to handle him. So as a last resort, he turns to Full Moon Dating. He is sure they cannot help either when they match him with Hamish, a bear shifter. What ever heard of a cat with a bear? Hamish has his own problems. He likes it rough and no one seems to be able to handle him either.

Both men are sure nothing can come of this but decide to meet anyway. And what a meeting it is. Hamish is sure he can handle Gage. Now to convince him! With enough heat to melt the ice caps, Hamish and Gage can’t help but explore the possibilities. Hop on for the ride as Gage and Hamish test out the possibilities. Short sweet and very hot, Gage and Hamish is sure to please.

Hmm.. I'm not full on board with the dominance aspect... Sir, Master, etc.. not in my interests. Plus I didn't quite get a feeling of Hamish 'mastering' gage's pushy bottom.. He's big enough to force it but that doesn't feel the same thing..

I really can't say how it measures up with the rest.. it's been over a year since the previous book. And REALLY??? It's not like this is a long book that it should take a year to produce a new one... That just causes loss of interest in following up.

These are short, so there isn't a whole lot of character development, but the writing is solid, the sex steamy, and the dialogue not gag-inducing.
