No.

It's a small word that says so much.

It's a word most of us don't use when we should.

It's a word that could have kept my life on an easy path.

No is the word I should have said...

But it never left my lips that night.

Now I'm torn between two men. One is tender, sweet, and dependable. The other is rough, dirty, and unreliable. One man will lead me to the life I've always planned. The other man will lead me to a life with wild new experiences.

I'm in this mess simply because I didn’t say that one word at the right time. I couldn’t resist him.

It would have been easier if I had said no.

I should have said no.

*Recommended for 18+ due to subject matter and sexual content.
**HEA, no cliffhanger, interconnected stand-alone novel.

i had high hopes for this book. the synopsis sucked me in and the cover is yummy but the heroine, skye, suffers from TSTL syndrome. total 'woe is me' girl. her issues are purely because of her own poor decisions. she dropped out of college to move across the country with her boyfriend after HE graduates and receives a job offer. now she's complaining cos she has to work different jobs to equally afford their rent which is ridiculously expensive. if she didn't want him paying 100% of it like he offered, move somewhere you can BOTH afford equally at this stage in life. she then says she doesn't want to be stuck being a housewife because it won't be enough for her in the future, she'll want more. well why didn't she do long distance with caleb until she too finished college or just transfer and continue studying near him, continue with her own career goal. i don't feel anything for this heroine other than irriatated and annoyed. all this and the current man in her life isn't even the hero.

i didn't mean this to be a rant but honestly i got to 50% and i am not even connected to her relationship with noah, our hero. he is her childhood friend and also introduced her to her current boyfriend caleb, (his best mate.) skye and noah have a 'loved you from afar but didn't say it'
type relationship and yet she's made side eye worthy life choices for caleb who she's been with 6 years and would marry. YET i am to believe deep down she has always loved noah.

um.. what? no, thank you. get a clue sunshine.

i am sure that others will probably love this book and all the more power to you guys but i just can't with this heroine. just. can't.

This was a great, quick read that I couldn't read fast enough. I was more a fan of the hero, Noah then I was the heroine, Skye. Her love for Noah was so apparent and so strong, but I feel like she was wishy washy when it came time to make a choice. Other than that, this was a solid, fast paced read that I finished in one sitting. The writing was fantastic and there was never a dull moment with its steaminess, deceptions, angst and epic love story!

Warning: this is an epic love triangle story!!
Skye has been with Caleb for several years. He's a safe bet to the life she always planned on for herself. Skye may have sacrificed some of her own dreams for the future but she's confident in her choices because it meant she could fully support Caleb in his career.
Noah is Skye's oldest friend, growing up they were best friends and as a young teen Skye's affections for him turned into a crush. As they grew older and Noah went off to travel the world and Skye went off to college they kept in touch but the distance between them grew. Skye's hope that their relationship would turn into something more was dashed when Noah came to visit her at college and was more interested in sorority girls than her. On this trip he brought Caleb, his new friend, and when Noah is busy trying his luck with other chicks she gets to know Caleb better. And so began their relationship. Years later she and Caleb are still going strong and Noah is still in their life, although now he's more Caleb's friend than hers. But despite how in love with Caleb Skye is, Noah still holds a spot in her heart.
I know love triangles aren't to everyone's taste but I'll tell you why I love them. They bring more feelings and emotions out in me than any other type of story and no matter if those feelings are positive or negative if a book can evoke such strong feelings in you then that is a bloody good book in my view!
This book gave me the double whammy of feels because not only is it a love triangle, it's also a sort of 'One Who Got Away' kind of story, which are the two book themes most guaranteed to get to me and this book had them both!
I did have mixed feelings about Skye but I think most love triangle books make you feel some level of anger towards the person in the middle. I think as women we do judge the female characters more harshly, like there were times I thought Skye was weak and found her inability to just make a decision annoying, but isn't that just an imitation of real life? Because us women do judge other women more harshly, it's in our DNA! But I also somehow managed to understand her on some level, because Skye freely admitted to her weaknesses and there's a certain strength in being able to do that.
This was a great read, full of angst and drama and I believe it showed it's merit that it was able to make me feel strongly, no matter which direction those feelings went. I'd definitely recommend this, and if not for those reasons I've already mentioned then getting to meet Noah is reason enough!

DAMN!!!!!!! Noah was just swoon-worthy from the beginning to end. The things out of his mouth either sexual or serious just made my heart beat faster and my panties melt. He gave it to Skye the only way that mattered, RAW. NO Filter, from the age of 8 to 28. Maybe some of his choices were wrong but he cleared every doubt away in the freezer and on the balcony. Poor Skye blinded by a fairytale with the wrong Prince in the starring role but as they say, you have to kiss many frogs to get that right Prince. In her case when the kisses were no longer being delivered to her she had to be the one to do the delivering.

~ 4 Shorty Stars ~

Noah is the first book in Justine Elvira's new Forbidden Desires Series. This book is a standalone.

I have to be honest and say that I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but I couldn't give it a full 5 stars because it had my hard limits in it. Now with that said, because it was written by Justine I knew I was going to read it no matter what. I will always read her books no matter the subject content.

When I heard about this book being released I knew I was going to read it, so I didn't bother reading the blurb for it. So I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. I will warn other readers out there that this book does involve a LOVE TRIANGLE, which in turn leads to cheating!! Because of these two reasons I couldn't give the book 5 stars, but I am still glad I read this book. Noah alone made this book truly enjoyable for me. So did Kendall (Skye's BFF)

In this book we meet Skye and Noah. These two characters have been best friends since Skye was 8 and Noah was 11. Their friendship has continued to blossom and grow even stronger throughout the years. Their story turns into one of unrequited love on Skye's behalf. When she turns 14, she realizes that she is in love with Noah, but is afraid he doesn't feel the same way. Noah and Skye have different ideas of what they want from their futures. Skye has always dreamt of a career in nursing, marriage, kids and the white picket fence. Noah on the other hand has always been a free spirit, so when he graduates from high school he chooses to travel the world and experience life that way, while Skye goes off to college.

Throughout this time their friendship stays strong and Noah even visits her when he comes home from his travels. One time he ends up bringing a friend with him that he met in Prague (Caleb). Noah does something foolish and that forces Caleb and Skye to spend time together and get to know each other. This then leads to a 6 year relationship for Caleb and Skye. This is where the triangle comes into play. I don't want to give anything more away about what happens between each of these characters, but let me say, it reminded me exactly why I don't like triangles. They are frustrating to me.

As for the characters, Noah was my absolute favorite!!! I fell hard for him. He is such a loyal, loving and sweet man, but boy can he melt a pair of panties with his dirty mouth ;) Skye was an okay heroine for me. There were things I liked about her and things I didn't. There was a time in the story I really just wanted to smack her around and tell her to wake up!! As for Caleb….he is just a douche in my book. There was something about him from the beginning that just had some warning sirens going off in my head. But don't take my word for it, read this book and decide for yourself who is your favorite!!

Like I said Noah is a standalone that is told in only Skye's POV. I sort of wish we would've gotten some of Noah's POV, because there were times I think his thoughts or feelings would've help the story along a little bit. This is fairly quick read…I was able to read it in one day over the course of several hours. That in no means, means that this story is rushed, but it does mean that nothing drags on for too long to slow the pace of the story down.

So if you are a fan of love triangles and a sexy Hero that will melt your heart and your panties, then you should give Noah a try.

5 Bootylicious stars!!

Book hangover thy name is Noah!! I’ve just lost my heart to another of Justine’s men.

What’s a girl to do when the boy she’s loved since she was 14 doesn’t see her as anything more than a best friend? This is the dilemma Skye finds herself in when she thinks Noah is so far beyond her reach. Unrequited love sucks big time!!

Skye finds love with Caleb; Noah’s new best friend no less. She makes the (unwise!) decision to drop out of college to follow Caleb cross-country to New York as he pursues his career in law. Skye puts Caleb’s needs before her own and rather than pursuing her nursing dreams works three jobs to pay her way.

However, Noah is never far away. In fact, he lives in the apartment right across the hall. As much as Skye would like to deny it, there is still a pull between them even after all these years.

All is not as it seems though in her relationship with Caleb. I really wanted to shake Skye at times in the book. No man should ever let the woman he proclaims to love give up her dreams. He should do everything in his power to help her attain them and support her in any way he can. Caleb is not this man. Skye has a very skewed view of how her perfect life should be.

As Noah points out:

“If you’re not willing to bet on yourself, Skye, then no one else will.”

Faced with the stark realisation that Caleb may not be the man she thinks he is; Skye turns to the only person she can think of, Noah. They spend an unforgettable night together. Imagine fireworks, explosions, the earth moving – you get the picture ;) Then Skye makes a decision which had me cussing and swearing at my kindle…..

I felt as if I was on an emotional rollercoaster with this book. My heart hurt as Skye tries to decide between the two men and all the to’ing and fro’ing was stressing me out. Nothing affects me more than an alpha with his heart on his sleeve and I really wanted to hug Noah and tell him everything would be ok.

No man wants to be the woman he loves second choice and Skye finds herself in a fight for her very happiness to win the man who owns her heart & soul. Her best friend Kendall sums the situation up perfectly:

“The best things worth fighting for are scary, Skye.”

Noah has cemented his place with Brandon (Changing His Game) and Jagger (The Con). I could go on and on about this book, but I’ve probably bored y’all to tears by now. Suffice it to say go and one-click this story now, you won’t regret it! Oh and the Bootylicious reference in the headline – well you’ll need to read the book to understand it…..

1 are you freaking kidding me stars

I have come across A LOT of stupid h's in books, ruining entire stories for me, but this one really tops them all.

She was a totally immature, self-centered and egoistical cheating bitch, thinking the world revolves around her, whilst at the same time being dumb as fuck, having no self confidence whatsoever.

So I am sorry, but due to her, I could not take this story serious.

Noah is waaaay too good for her and she does not deserve him.

I am out!

“He was supposed to be my destiny, my soul mate.”

Noah! Noah! Noah! I loved Noah!

He and Skye have been friends since childhood. He is three years older than her but they’ve been best friends ever since their parents became next door neighbours, and she’s known that she was in love with him since she was 14.

The story moves back and forth between the past and present – with snapshots of Skye and Noah at different stages in their lives. Even when he wasn’t physically in her life, he was always around in spirit and they kept in constant touch. However, Skye has dreamt of an ideal life with the whole shebang of white picket fence, married with children to a hardworking man. Noah is a wanderer and has no plans to commit to anyone. She sees him as unreliable but keeps waiting for him to wake up to the fact that they belong together.

Once Noah introduces Skye to Caleb, Skye puts her dreams and love for Noah away, and starts to fall for Caleb and concentrate on being the perfect partner for him.

In the present day, Skye is beginning to see the cracks in her six-year relationship with Caleb – even though her best friend, Kendall, and Noah have been trying to tell her for years that Caleb is not good enough for her. Skye keeps objecting to the fact that they both call her naïve but that’s exactly what she is.

Kendall is a fantastic friend (and I can’t wait to read her story next) and Noah….*sigh*…he’s an amazing man who waited too long. It takes a heartbreaking decision before Skye sees that he’s not at all the kind of man she thought he was….he’s actually quite the opposite.

She needs to decide if she would rather keep striving at an unbalanced relationship in the hopes of a ‘perfect’ future, or risk it all on the love of her life.

I couldn’t put this book down! I thought it was amazing! The love and trust between Skye and Noah was beautiful. Noah’s love and care for Skye was just so obvious to the reader. Loved this book. Love this author!

I honestly gave this book a 3.5 star rating.. While I like the friends to lovers book, this one kinda made me mad at times. Skye mostly was the problem. She loved Noah but chose his friend who treated her like crap and didn't support her dreams at all. I didn't understand that at all. I get that Noah was a free spirit and never wanted to be tied down but couldn't she see the love and devotion he had for her. She seriously pissed me off at times. Noah, of course was who I was rooting for the entire time. I knew he would fight for her regardless of how she treated him and I was right. Caleb was a complete jerk and I'm glad he got his butt kicked. He deserved it. I enjoyed reading this even if there were times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room.

I was given a arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
I normally can't stand love triangles. I wasn't sure at first with this book. Skye I got pretty pissed with at times. And of course, you get the feels for both of the men and can't decide who to choose. Oh the dilemmas of 3 ways haha. Anyway, Skye and Noah were friends long ago and she fell for Caleb because Noah didn't look at her that way. Fast forward and everything has changed. Now Skye is torn. She loves them both. How does one make this decision? you will have to read to find out

Noah - bad boy with a heart of gold!

Oh, that we all had a Noah in our lives!! Skye and Noah have been friends since childhood. He has always been there for her, rescued her , fought her battles for her, encouraged her and generally acted like her own personal knight in shining armour; and Skye has been in love with him since she was 14. But Skye has always wanted a wealthy husband, white picket fence and a couple of perfect children and felt that this was never going to happen with Noah. Noah seems to be a serial womanizer with no thoughts of ever settling down. Enter Noah's friend Caleb. Soon Skye and Caleb are living together and Skye's friendship with Noah takes a back seat. When the story begins Skye and Caleb have been together 6 years and are celebrating their engagement. The story flips between the present day and the past. The one thing that stands out, past or present, is Noah's big heart, his protective nature and his feelings for Skye. Skye, on the other hand is a bit too self-centred and doesn't ever consider Noah's feelings in her quest for the perfect marriage scenario. Thank goodness she finally comes to her senses and does the right thing!!!!

I really enjoyed this book at the beginning wanting to read it quickly however I got quite annoyed with Skye during the middle part of the book. Also felt it got a bit 'soppy' towards the end. I do like this authors way of writing though so will continue to try reading more of her books.

This was my first book by Justine and I was sucked in from start to finish. This a love triangle book that some might find hard to read. Not everything is peachy and sometimes safe isn’t always the answer.

Skye and Noah have been best friends for years, but something happens that pulls them apart. Skye can feel her and Noah growing apart, so she can only do one thing… turn to Caleb for safety. Skye and Caleb have been together for 6 years and she believes he is the one. That is until some things don’t add up and suddenly she questions everything. Not only is Caleb acting funny, but all the feelings she had from Noah are suddenly back and she can’t stop them.

This book is definitely a whirlwind of emotions. At first, I was torn between Noah and Caleb until I realized how much of a douche bag Caleb actually is then I was TEAM NOAH till the end. There were a few times that Skye made me mad and I wanted to smack her. Overall this is a very good book and I look forward to more books from Justine.

Skye and her best friend did everything together. They played Barbies, got ice cream, and camped out in their backyards. Her best friend did everything with and for her. Noah was her everything.

Until she realized, she wasn't his everything. She gave up on her dream of them and decided to be more realistic.

She never thought about it, but everything changed that day. But today, today she thinks king about it. She's thinking about him. She can't stop it...

I love Noah. Every woman deserves a Noah. I would fill out the order form. He is the entire package, not to mention his package, but um wow! Sorry, it had to be done.

Noah is the boy next store.
Noah is her best friend from childhood.
Skye has been in love with him since she was little.
He is also he fiancee's best friend.

I really enjoyed this book. I can be honest and say I sincerely disagree with cheating. I understand the position and reasoning. I don't condone it and actually the author doesn't glorify it either. I am learning that though I despise the act- it's a real thing. I have become less judgemental over time. I feel that if you cheat it's because you are not in love with your significant other...

Skye is the type of person who wants security and even though she and Noah have been best friends since they were little Noah doesn't want to get married or have a family. When Noah comes for a visit one weekend and brings his friend Caleb, Skye can't take Noah's lack of interest but Caleb is interested. It's been six years and Caleb seems to be drifting away but Skye can't seem to see what a scumbag Caleb is.
Noah has always been in love with Skye but he wanted to let her find her way but instead she gave up nursing school to follow Caleb to New York so he could follow his dreams but Noah has always been there just in case she needs him. When something happens and Skye really needs Noah he is there for her but they can't go back and Skye is lost.
I wanted to knock some sense into Skye most of this book but then I wanted to hug her. Justine is a new author for me and I can't wait to read Levi.

First of all, I wanted to tell Justine Elvira to give me that guy's number... Ok, I know that's not gonna happen, so let me tell you more about Noah. He is a great alpha: determined, business-like, bad boy attitude and (hot) looks, and a sweet guy. I enjoyed reading how Noah and Skye grew up together, getting close until Caleb, Noah's best friend, got in the picture.
Can a guy be a girl's best friend? Can they stay best friends, no matter what?
I laughed. I shared their doubts and fears. I waited to see what the future held for the trio. And let's not forget about Kendall.
Justine managed to write a steamy read that brings out a lot more emotions than expected. I love her style. A job well done.
I couldn't put it down. What are you waiting for?

Noah and Skye were childhood friends and she's been in love with him forever. He's a couple of years older and instead of college takes a different path, traveling and gaining experience. During his travels, he meets Caleb and he introduces him to Skye. Because Skye doesn't think Noah is interested, she and Caleb start dating. Fast forward six years...she's given up everything for Caleb but in her heart still loves Noah. Hence the love triangle begins, cause Noah isn't denying his feelings for her anymore.
I have to say, Noah is probably the perfect romantic hero, romantic, handsome, and so gosh darn sweet. However, Skye is so immature I literally wanted to smack her on more than one occasion. So Ms. Elvira--mission accomplished--any writer who can get that kind of reaction from a reader has nailed it!

With every book I read of Justine's I fall more and more in love with her writing style. She always takes us on a wonderful journey as we read her stories. This is a great story of two friends growing up together that have been in love with each other for years but were never ready at the same time for them to get realize it. A misunderstanding almost causes them to lose each other forever then actions almost make it worse only time and true love make it so they find each other in the end. I fell in love with Noah from the beginning of of the story and he never let me down. Fall in love with a great story when you read this book

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. First off I'll start by saying I'm a Justine fan. When she puts out a book, I'll read it. This one I'll admit, I was hesitant about, because I am not a fan of cheating books. I avoid them. But this one was written very well that I was able to keep going with the book. I loved Noah. He was my favorite character. He always had me smiling or swooning with his words or actions. Loved him! The sex scenes were great too! Just enough. Some erotica authors tend to go overboard, but not Justine. She gives you just enough.

If you're a Justine fan like I am, you should definitely pick this book up! I wait to see what she has next for us! :)

Perfect guy, both on the cover (yum, yum) and Noah, as a main character. Sweet, in love, confused.
Perfect read, great storyline (friends turn lovers: mistake or not?), great chemistry between the MC, great style.
I loved the secondary characters as much as the MC.
I'm always impressed about how Justine Elvira can portray strong and sensitive Alphas. I mean, I like her female characters but somehow she manages to make my heart swoon over her guys every time...NOAH is no exception. He's one of my favorites...for now! Go grab a copy if you haven't done it yet.

Pretty good and quick read!
I enjoyed Noah, the hero. He was always pretty sweet to her with the Hershey's kisses and the unbirthday and just being there for her.
Skye kind of annoyed me with her bad and indecision and her willingness to be stomped all over..in a way she maybe might reminds me of me in some aspects, maybe that's why she annoys me..
but the flashbacks to when noah and skye were younger was a pretty neat feat that i think makes this book enjoyable.
I need me a Noah...that gives me kisses everyday and always saves me :)

Noah and Skye have been best friends since she was eight years old. Noah is a couple years older then Skye but they get along like best friends. Noah is hot and in the beginning of the book he's made out to be a man whore. Skye meets his best friend Caleb and they hit it off and start dating but does she love Caleb or is Noah. Does Noah love Skye or is he a man whore? This is a short HOT read and loved every page of it, I couldn't put it down and can't wait to read about Kendall and Levi. The story has a great ending and no cliffhanger. Yah!!! Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha.

Whoo Wee, do I love books written by Justine Elvira! Noah is no different and just as engaging, hot, steamy, and sexy!

Skype is one lucky princess to get that man as her forever prince. I think I'm in love with Noah myself, sigh. He's taken, and so am I, but doesn't mean he can't be my new book boyfriend. ..

I was pulling for him through out this book and so happy he got his happily ever after. What an incredible story. You truly feel like your right there feeling their emotions while reading this book... There are so many times I wanted to pull Shorty aside and be like wtf chick open your eyes but she finally did thank god! For me this is a must read!

I absolutely loved this book. Friends to lovers romance at its best. Skye and Noah are best friends since childhood, they have always loved each other but were too afraid to tell each other. Years later Skye is engaged to another man, is that enough of a reason for Noah to finally tell her and for Skye to finally realize she's with the wrong man? Not going to spoil it, you'll have to read it.

Couldn't put this book down. Because of the love triangle, things got messy and complicated and some of the mistakes made were a tad outside my reading preference zone, but the writing was great and the characters were very real.
