In my opinion, the best descriptive writer alive today.

I've read many of this author's books and found them fascinating. They are not simple - the author uses very little punctuation and few quotation marks. The narative is so simplified that he lets you help him fill in the blanks and finally, in the end, it all makes sense. However, in this one the composition is so spare that I couldn't make sense of most of it. I'm ashamed to say that I did not finish it which breaks my own rule about finishing what I begin.

Love the author and his writing, but this is really depressing. Too gory. If life's like this, count me out. Very well written.
